    The worst port I've ever seen in my life, did not expect the quality of the XBOX One or PS4 but as the game was released is unplayable. At the end of the generation we all know the potential of video games, and can realize in SoW for PS3 is a game that is far from being finalized and is still being sold. Do not buy, spend far from it.

    This was utterly abysmal. Never in my life have I seen a port handled this poorly; and I've played Dark souls on PC. Where do I start?
    - Graphics: Graphics were stilted, with orcs who moved their mouths like goddamn muppets and hair more wooden than Pinocchio's. Textures would take ages to render, and pop in and out almost at random.
    - Sound: The sound skipped constantly, and sometimes    This was utterly abysmal. Never in my life have I seen a port handled this poorly; and I've played Dark souls on PC. Where do I start?

    - Sound: The sound skipped constantly, and sometimes cut out entirely. Worse yet, occasionally it would grind to a literally screeching halt as I was treated to screaming static. That was a treat at 2 in the morning.
    - Framerate: The game lags like Crysis 3 on Windows 93. This is inexcusable for a professional company.
    - Nemesis system: Literally the game's primary selling point, the core of all the marketing was practically gutted for the current-gen version of the game.
    Don't buy this game. For the love of all that is holy; it froze up twice. Games don't freeze anymore, not unless you've been modding the crap out of them; we're past that, we're better than that. Apparently, freaking WB and Monolith didn't get the memo.
    Pro Tip, guys: If you're not going to port a game right, don't port it at all. For god's sake this was literally unplayable. -1/10    … Expand

    Terrible. Unplayable. Pretty sure Jack and Daxter on PS2 had better graphics than this game. I feel so ripped off. Do not buy for PS3 .

    SOM is a complete disaster. Muddy low-res textures that pop in and out at random, frequent stops in the game to load despite having to install it onto your hard-drive, choppy frame rate and sound/music skips, the list goes on...

    This game isn't even worthy of being considered a PS2 game, much less PS3. WB should be ashamed of asking for the full $60 price tag for this "Alpha" version.

That alone is unforgivable as I've never in my life experienced a significant load time for a pause menu. Even still, I manage to ignore it and all the ugliness and choppiness for about 4 hours. Then when the low frame rate gave me a disadvantage against a certain enemy type because I couldn't dodge well enough, and when the sound came to a very literal screeching death, I had to throw in the towel. These problems are not limitation of the system - I've seen better looking open world games on PS3 and sound problems like this are problems that shouldn't exist ever in a purchased game - but simply due to laziness on the developer's part. I very much want to play this game, but I have been so offended by the audacity to release and charge consumers full price for this p.o.s. that I likely won't buy a working version for a different system.… Expand

    This game isn't even finished! The Uurks don't even open their mouths when they talk and the graphics look like somebody went around and smeared mud on everything. Within 20 minutes of starting the game A glitch occurred where all I could hear was a woman breathing loudly no matter what I was doing.     Shadow of Mordor for PS3 should, more appropriately, be named Shadow of the Next-Gen version. I have never been more disappointed with a game as I am with Shadow of Mordor. The game’s nemesis system has been reduced to a point where it’s not even worth playing, and the game crashed three times within my first two hours of playing it.     I get this is a next gen game ported down to a ps3. I understand the graphics won't be as good, and the load times will be longer. However, this is just one lazy port all in all. I've been playing games for over 20 years and very rarely do i use the term barely playable. This is one of the times I use it.     A disgrace for the ps3!!! that's all i can say! it could & should have been better in all aspects from Framerates to some more polished graphics. I would like to send a message to those developpers purposely making **** game versions on the ps3,,, GO & LEARN FROM ubisoft !!!!!!!!!! atleast farcry 4 & assasins creed rogue were both worth for spending some quids. thanks

    Completely unplayable. This is a prime example of a pure cash-grab. This should never have been released. After playing only 5 minutes and then waiting almost 10 minutes for a load screen that never did load anything I backed out and realized I had been suckered.
    Don't get suckered, stay way from this game.

    I'm not kidding, this port shows a serious lack of polish. The kicker is that they delayed THIS version to avoid these issues. There should be a recall for this port, because I seriously doubt they will pay any mind to last gen players and send a patch.
    I really think legal action can be done here, as this product is unfinished and unplayable for most. I truly can't see someone playing something like this for long periods of time. It's that bad. Get a PS4 or Xbox One copy if possible. The difference is night and day! I see users giving this port a 10.     Fiquei tão decepcionado com esse jogo que resolvi me cadastrar para fazer esse review. Primeiramente gostaria de informar que tentei jogar a versão 1.01 do jogo. Dito isso vamos aos principais problemas:

    1. Os gráficos são péssimos. Não estou comparando o jogo com a versão do PS4, estou comparando com outros jogos para PS3. As texturas em baixa resolução ficaram péssimas e o pior é    Fiquei tão decepcionado com esse jogo que resolvi me cadastrar para fazer esse review. Primeiramente gostaria de informar que tentei jogar a versão 1.01 do jogo. Dito isso vamos aos principais problemas:

    1. Os gráficos são péssimos. Não estou comparando o jogo com a versão do PS4, estou comparando com outros jogos para PS3. As texturas em baixa resolução ficaram péssimas e o pior é quando elas não aparecem sempre. Vários inimigos ficaram com verdadeiros buracos nas armaduras.
    2. O som fica enroscando e não parece sincronizado com a ação. Sempre que tentei um stealth kill, escutada os gritos do inimigo alguns segundos mais tarde, quando o personagem já estava distante daquele local.
    3. Se os dois itens acima já não eram o bastante, o que me fez desistir de jogar o game foi o excesso de load screens. Para entrar ou sair dos menus e do mapa, ao iniciar uma quest, ao encontrar um item. A ação é interrompida a todo o momento pelas telas de carregamento. Muitas vezes era possível escutar o som das batalhas dando a impressão que a ação já tinha começado, mas a tela preta de carregamento ainda não dispersava.

    Gutted, I pre-ordered this game to find it glitchy, slow and just unplayable... This is unacceptable, The game came out over a month ago after the other console. This should not happen! I really hope they patch it because I will be returning it. So disappointed

    Totally unplayable game , i beg you not to waste your money like we did and save to get a ps4 or an xboxone , this is by far the worst looking game i have ever played on the ps3,and i'm pretty sure that the ps3 is capable of more, this game only shows the laziness and the greed of the devs.

    I made the same mistake others have made of believing that the extra month of "polishing" was meant to optimize this game for the system I own, but it was clearly meant to sabotage instead. There's nothing wrong with my or any old console, they run better made games just fine.

    This will be the last game I buy at full price from this developer. While it's clear that they are capable of putting out decent product as evidenced by the lauded release on newer consoles, I refuse to be burned again by their shameless greed.

    I intend to play this game to 100% completion just to spite Monolith. Then when they later release the inevitable "Complete Edition" maybe I'll by that on Steam for 5 bucks since I've pretty much already payed for it anyway.    … Expand

I did not expect a game like ps4 or one, but if red read redemption, gta IV and V or assassins are excellents sandbox, this game should have the same quality. Low details, down framerate, low graphics, empty map, low quality of music and effects, Orcs don't move their mouths, many seconds to go pause or mape, and more bugs....This game is not finished! The Nemesis system is a bummer for ps3, but the game seems like it'd still be really fun with less variations.     Is a shame the game is very fun but it takes a lot of time between the pause menu to return to gameplay almost five secs that's a lot and i really think that a patch don't resolve nothing in this case maybe the problems with the sound and the problem to get stuck inside a wall but not the delay if you really want to enjoy this game played in a ps4 in the ps3 is a waste of money

Not to mention chopped cut scenes for missions, slow loading textures, dieing sounds like 20 seconds after ambushing an orc, and what pissed me the most... too many crashes, i couldn't connect a kill with an interrogation that the game would crash, there were times the sound just disappeared during the interrogation menu and after that was a crash, i learned that "no sound" mean "no interrogation" or else it would crash and it ruined the experience for me since there were times i needed the info and couldn't get it, not to mention the hard to kill captains kills i lost because it crashed during the interrogation.
    Yes, it does have an awesome story but the tsunami of bugs is ruining the game completely.    … Expand

    This game is just the perfect example of why you should never buy games on release. I bought it for a friend as a Christmas gift and I feel terribly embarrassed. The image is so pixelated it looks like a PS2 game. It gave my eyes and my wallet cancer. So much disappointment.

    The game is an encyclopedia of malfunctions. The game crashes, the character freezes; he clips through the ground and into nothingness, he clips into mountains and remains landlocked within. Orcs spawn out of thin air, their dialogue loops up to three times, and they gently float down to the ground, sans animation, when jumping from above. Caragors clip through the ground when climbing ledges, and Graugs have been removed all but from the story missions that feature them.

    When characters are showcased in in-game cutscenes and such, they appear to be wearing the scrambling suits from A Scanner Darkly as layers of textures pop in and out, rendering them truly formless. The landscape itself is riddled with texture pop-ins – you can stand by a boulder in the middle of nowhere and simply gaze at it for minutes at a time as it loads texture upon texture and doesn’t decide on any.

    It’s also a game that requires lots of loading, and not just from booting up the game or loading up a new area. Unpausing the game alone can take as long as half a minute. Wanna check the map again real quick? That’s another half a minute. In any other game this wouldn’t be as aggravating, but it’s an RPG – you’re gonna spend a lot of time surfing menus, upgrading, customizing, etc. And every time you wanna do any of it it’s going to take forever. Pausing the game ended up being like laundry day for me – pile as much dirty underwear as you can, so you save yourself as many trips as possible.

    There’s also the issue of the in-game cutscenes that play whenever you start a side mission or extra challenge. These are, in theory, 5 second previews showing you the location, the enemies, the goal, etc. In practice, however, these go on for as a long as a full minute: cutscenes load and play one shot at a time. So you get a shot of a prisoner, and then a black screen as the game buffers, and another shot of another prisoner, and another black screen as the game buffers, etc. Pre-rendered cutscenes play just fine, though music tends to carry over from gameplay (usually war drums), which upsets the tone of cutscenes and also drowns out the dialogue.

    The list goes one. The low resolution. The hideous graphics. The screen tearing. The draw distance. The invisible walls. The inexistent animation. The lip-syncing, or lack thereof. Worst of all are the inconsistent frame rates. Of all the glitches and all the malfunctions, FPS is what makes the game borderline unplayable. Even as the ending credits roll by, the frame rate goes up and down. Never have I seen this level of incompetence in a game.

    This is all for shame. You can tell at its core that this is a fun game, but whatever fun I had while playing this broken mess was always in spite of the game rather than because of it. To be fair – fairer than the game was to me – the combat is serviceable (lifted off the Arkham games – also by Warner Brothers) and the Nemesis System, which keeps track of the hierarchy of Sauron’s Army, is engaging. I also liked the use of J. R. R. Tolkien’s body of work as part of the game’s lore (stretching all the way back to The Silmarillion), even if the story doesn’t do it much justice. But here I am reviewing Monolith's game, not Behaviour Interactive's, who can only be commended for all the things they didn't completely ruin.

    Without hyperbole, this is the glitchiest game I’ve ever played (and I’ve played Arkham Origins), and the fault lies primarily on the company that worked on porting it: Behaviour Interactive. I’ve written to them with an extensive, detailed list of all bugs, glitches, malfunctions and shortcomings I’ve encountered while playing their game. I was asking for a patch or at the very least some troubleshooting advice. Their response?

    “Thank you for the great feedback. Unfortunately, there's no team working on the game anymore at Behaviour. We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties with the game.”

    Thanks for nothing, Behaviour Interactive. And thanks for nothing, Anaïs Renevey, who is quite clearly credited as Head of Quality Assurance in the game’s credits though none of her online resumes mention it, instead crediting herself with the QA of one SpongeBob game.

    Never have I felt this ripped off after purchasing a videogame.    … Expand

Seems like you`re playing a big game in a poor PC. The worst graphics I`ve ever seen since "Watch Dogs" and "The Evil Within". I did not expected that WB could do this with the PS3 gamers.

    A friend of mine borrowed the game and I have to say that I'm sorry for those who paid the game. This one just has too many bugs, glitches and huge loading time.

    I wish so much that in due time I spent money on this ugly product. The game has been ported to the Playstation 3 so badly that it is simply impossible to play. FPS is constantly in the region of 15-20 frames per second. And God forbid you accidentally press the pause button, or open the map... 80% of the game is a black screen and a loading circle in the lower right corner of the screen.

    I dont know about PS4 version since i dont own it but i own PS3 version. I wonder why they didnt try to fix the game through patches? The graphics are awful in PS3 version. The orcs never move any muscle in their mouth. The game lags too much and the sensitivity of controller is bad plus the respond in controller is just as bad as the game.
