    Having been an avid street fighter player for well over a decade it was with surprise that I never played this game before it came out on PSN. Firstly, it is quite different to Street Fighter 2->4 in the mechanics of the game, its faster paced and quite frenetic but it is possible to put together some major combos. The range of characters is vase but finding players outside of Magneto, Sentinel, Psylocke and Storm is unusual except maybe a few SFIV players as Ryu or Cammy. I prefer SFIV but I do like this game but my score reflects that the game is not as much to my taste as the Street Fighter series.

    I would also mention that the training option is not great, you cant record moves for the dummy and practice against certain combos for instance....    … Expand

    In retrospective, Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes reigns as one of the greatest fighting franchises of all-time and with the inclusion of online mode, the competitive status of the game has been raised another bar since it first came out on the Dreamcast over 10 years ago. Pros? Retro visuals; lots of characters from Capcom and Marvel; lots of colorful hyper combos; multiplayer modeIn retrospective, Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes reigns as one of the greatest fighting franchises of all-time and with the inclusion of online mode, the competitive status of the game has been raised another bar since it first came out on the Dreamcast over 10 years ago. Retro visuals; lots of characters from Capcom and Marvel; lots of colorful hyper combos; multiplayer mode and online make it as competitive as it used to be in the arcades and on the Dreamcast; original jazz influenced soundtrack. Cons? The visuals haven't aged all too well; occasional online hiccups; the soundtrack gets awfully repetitive after 5 minutes of gameplay.… Expand

    This is hands down quite possibly the best fighting game to be made since Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo. It has an incredible roster of 56 of your favorite Marvel and Capcom characters. The Gameplay is super fast and super responsive. Since this game is no longer being sold on PS3 I highly recommend buying a Dreamcast, a copy of this game, and modding an arcade stick just for this absoluteThis is hands down quite possibly the best fighting game to be made since Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo. It has an incredible roster of 56 of your favorite Marvel and Capcom characters. The Gameplay is super fast and super responsive.     As far as I'm concerned this is the BEST fighting game of all time, hands down. The PS3 iteration had improved HD graphics and online play, two improvements to an already PERFECT game. It's balanced, nearly every character is viable and you can build some very interesting teams. The attack animations are at he apex of 2D fighting sprites, the IPs are about as cool as it gets for the genre, and the pacing and timing of the combat is superior. This is the most refined 2D fighting game ever made, and it stands the test of time and still is above and beyond anything that has been released since.… Expand

    Capcom’s called it “the best fighting game net code ever created for consoles”. We’re inclined to agree. When all is said and done, if you’re a fighting game fan MvC2 is an essential purchase.
