Hardcore players will breeze through this in no time, while novice players looking to get into the genre will find a decent, yet not overbearing, challenge with good controls, and solid gameplay. A worthy effort from the folks at G.Rev.

Mamorukun Curse! is an exciting, frenetic time, especially for those waiting for localization of the popular Japanese shooter. It’s a hefty price tag to be sure, but it serves up hours of challenging fun and plenty of unlockables for those skilled enough to look for even more to do after the game has been completed. If you’re looking for a new shooter to add to your collection, you could do far worse than this.

There's about seven levels, each one lasting for ten minutes. However, the difficulty (even on easy) is extremely hard, so what makes up for the short time is challenge. You will die a lot and replay stages a lot. If you loose all your lives, game over, you will be returned to the title screen.

Some may say the graphics are outdated, from the PS2 era perhaps. Even if true, the graphics are really cute and fits the overall tone of the game. The enviroments are varied and stands out on their own. The enemies and characters fits every levels theme and shows the fullest potential possible. With a price tag of 5 bucks on the PSN store, you won't be at a huge loss even if you dislike it. The price is a bargain compared to Japan, where this got a physical release and was sold for 55$.

A great game for arcade fans, an even better game for anime/manga fans. With a cheesy story to go, it will make a great game for the latter.
