    Ah fanboys, trust them to provide an objective score for a game... NOT 6.2 wtf?? I really rate this game about a 93 but I'm giving it a 10 to try even out the odds a little. Go back to playing XBOX and stop rating games you can't even play...

    Why does this have a score of 6.2? Once of the most original games I've ever played as well as one of the best ones. Should be at least a 9.3

    Wow it is like the single player mode from smash brothers on the GC - what is the point in 2008? i wanna play games that have nice graphics and new gamplay - or massive guns and chainsaws.

    Wow! This game blows my mind! The most fun I've had since Kingdom Hearts back on PS2!!! I had extremely high expectations and this game went far beyond them! I wasnt even expecting me to be this excited and to have as much fun as i have been. My only gripe is that it doesnt upscale to 1080i, i have a TV that only supports 1080i so instead LBP is forced to downgrade to 480i. Im sure Wow! This game blows my mind!     This game is the absolutely the dumbest idea ever. Besides the 10% of gamers who actually have the time to waste to create levels, no one will play this game. All it is, is a stupid old washed up platformer! This game blows!!!

    IMO, the BETA of this game deserves a 10, based solely on the nearly infinite scope that the UGC tools gives the gaming community. The controls take some getting used to, but they are solid. The only other gripe that I have is the 2.5-D perspective can lead to somewhat confusing situations in some of the user-made levels. You will try to jump to a platform in the background only to land IMO, the BETA of this game deserves a 10, based solely on the nearly infinite scope that the UGC tools gives the gaming community. The controls take some getting used to, but they are solid. The only other gripe that I have is the 2.5-D perspective can lead to somewhat confusing situations in some of the user-made levels. You will try to jump to a platform in the background only to land on something else in the foreground. It's a bit of a nuisance, but I can definitely overlook it as it is quite minor and the pros in this game majorly overshadow this flaw. There are so many positives in this game that I could literally type for the next couple days and still only make a dent on the surface. That being said, I'll try to point out this game's brightest spots. The graphics are matched by few console games. Look no further than the details in all the various materials (sponge, wood, steel, etc.) for evidence of this. The frame rate is rock solid no matter how many objects are presented onscreen, despite all objects having high-res textures. The physics are top notch for a game - in a platform game, no less. The marriage of physics and platforming leads to a unique experience in which surrealism and reason can co-exist to breed the most realistic cutesy platformer to date (note that I also qualify Mario as a "cutesy platformer, with its smiling bullets and hammer throwing turtles). Level designs are limited only by the imagination. Friends, or strangers, can come together for hours and hours of endless fun in online-coop. Just think how cool it would be to have literally thousands of levels to choose from to play online with your buddies. Well, it's GONNA happen as soon as LBP hits the shelves in late October. It would be an understatement to say that this game is great, relative to ALL upper tier games...yes, including even the NES and SNES classics. Heck, it might even be an understatement to say that it is unsurpassed! Quite honestly, if Grand Theft Auto IV deserved all the 10's that it received, then, IMO, LBP is easily a 12.     Seriously the best game I've ever played. Great platforming elements, but what is really cool is the level creator, with near endless possibilities, this game will be a medium for the creative minds. The world is leveled (well at least for those with a ps3 and this game), and no longer shall geography separate the bright minds from each other. This game is totally amazing.

    This game is awesome! Too bad we have a bunch of bitches giving this game a low score. You guys need to grow up, seriously. Because the game got pushed back a week you are giving it a bad score? Come on. I repeat you guys are bitches, to whom ever gave it a bad score to pull the rating down. Same goes for GOW2.

    Slick all through but that's not saying much since there is so little gameplay unless you take about a weeks work of building level only to see yourself play through your own penbox. Except there's little fun to be had since you build it.

    This is the most exciting platformer ever and the creation and sharing feature is the first true 3.0, user generated content implementation of the next gen!!! Great visuals, sound, physics, and mostly it's just plain fun and cutesy and good for the whole family!!!

    This game is fantastic. This is my opinion, and if you disagree with it than I respect that. Anyway, if you like platformers than you should enjoy this. LittleBigPlanet is a game where you can create a level, send it to a database, and also download other levels. Some are really creative and that is, in a nutshell, why I love this game.

    Got an early copy from Target! I can't stop playing this game, more specifically the level editor. There is so much potential and it just blows my mind how creative it lets you be. There is tons to do and create; I think this game is taking gaming in a whole new direction.

    I played the beta and was immediately hooked! I don't know if I'll design my own levels, but I really loved seeing what others can do. I think this game is infinitely replayable. Some of the levels were buggy or had problems, but as people learn the game, they'll get better and better.

    Excellent side scrolling platformer! Its a must buy if you own a PS3. Its a build and share your own platforming game. You or friends create and share stages. Your able to play then with friends online and rate other user created stages you've played. Only complaint I have is dealing with the 3d'ish movement to the fore or aft of the screen can be a little annoying.

    This game I found to be really disappointing, the actual game play is horrible, if you are into the whole make your own levels then this is cool but if you just want to sit down and play this game is pretty mediocre. You'd be better off buying Viva Pinata, now that's a good game.

    The game is a bit too much childish. All you do is create scrolling level and not fully 3-d and on top of that, the controls for the charcater is floaty. Don not buy this lame level creator, buy a true game creator for your PC to actually create something worth playing.

First of all, the game incorporates a draconian DRM system that requires you to activate over the internet, and limits you to a grand total of 3 activations. If you reach that limit, then you'll have to call Sony in order to add one extra activation. That's not as simple as it sounds, since when you reach that point Sony will assume that you, the paying customer, are a filthy pirating thief. You will need to provide proof of purchase, reasons why the limit was reached, etc, etc (it has all happened before with another recent Sony product, Home). Sony, of course, is not obligated to grant you that extra activation or even provide that service. In a couple of years they might very well even shut down the general activation servers, because "it's not financially feasible" to keep them running. What you will be left with is a nice, colorful $50 coaster. And you will be required to pay for another copy/license if you want to continue playing. This basically means that you are actually RENTING the game, instead of owning it. The game WILL stop to function in the future. That's inevitable, because even if Sony keeps the activation servers going, there IS going to be a time when Sony will simply cease to exist because of financial issues or federal laws (like most businesses eventually do). Second, the game was dumbed down to oblivion. Stickers don'tt even matter anymore. For example, you can add as many stickers to a creature as you want, but the multi-sticker creature won't be any faster than a single-sticker one with higher leg stats. This gameplay element makes "creating" your creatures entirely pointless (cosmetic only, because everything is based on stats), and brings you about the same amount of excitement as dressing up a sack doll. Metal Gear Solid 4 was a disappointment, I'm selling my PS3 one ebay to pay for a gaming PC.… Expand

    I was in the beta and even though I don't care much for LBP I was blown away when I saw that this game has something that games have been missing for a long time and that is genuine innocence.I'm glad that most of the reviewers caught this while reviewing the game.

    This is by far one of the most creative if the not the MOST CREATIVE game ive played all my life. ONe game that would definitely set the ps3 apart from the other consoles. Although it is arguably the Best Game for the Ps3, one can say that it is the best reason to buy one.

Haven't I played a 2D scroller with a level editor before? Oh yeah, it was called Excitebike and it was for the original Nintendo system.     Having been testing the game for the last month or so i have to say im disapointed. Being a game tested i do not normally comment on games as i go through so many in the year but this one was especially poor, very unoriginial game play and long long load times. Menus were difficult to get around and the game lacked any kind of luster. My suggestion is to buy an xbox360.

    I was so excited for this game before the release. REALLY EXCITED, but when I bought it I knew the game was extremely over hyped. The game had clunky controls, my PS3 could barely play it because it lagged alot, the music sucked, and it crashed a couple times. I cannot believe I actually bought this shit, dont buy it, just save your money for a good game.

    The game sucks, its too hard to make own levels and campaign is over in less than 10 hours. Very basic platforming. This game should have been made in the Snes era becuz its features fall in that context.

    Very good game. The story mode is more for killing time when you have nothing to do and the creation mode is where the fun is at. You must do some off the story mode to unlock the creation and to get more things for your levels but the story mode is not that bad at all. Only thing I dock for was the control. Im just so use to the nes/snes 2d plane controls(donkey kong country, SMB3, Very good game.     Flat out fun. rusty, sure. short, oh yes. but undeniably fun as hell. especially with a friend or significant other. the Wife Approval Factor of LBP is perhaps the highest of any console game since Wii Sports. and all this is without ever having taken the game online.

    I am very disapointed with LBP. I was in the beta and was impressed with the detail of the visuals. Thats it. It was kind of fun to play but very repetative. Also very offensive to some americans. I played one level where I flew a plane into the world trade center and onother where I had to escape off the top of the wtc building only to find every escape led to certain death.     The first time you play it or see it, it impress a lot, the "infinite posibilities", but thats all. It gets really boring if we assume that everybody is not a born level creator, without the level creator it sucks. the game is pretty, but i dont think it deserves a perfect score.

    A huge disappointment in my imo, and what happens? Everybody on the web posts a review of at least a score of 8 just because everybody else reviewed this game good. This is just like MGS4 (which was a great game), it also happened with Haze, if IGN gave the game a good rating, everybody else whould have kissed up to them.

    We rented this from the 94 video store in Rowland Heights. The offensive song actually sounds very cute and we didn't know what the lyrics were, so it didn't matter. It's fun with four people, but play time should be limited because you will get sick of dying randomly.     Have not got chance to play full game yet, but BETA was Great. Main problem i have is people use way to many dang rocket cars! and the layers are annoying when trying top jump sometimes! other than that game is great!

    I played the BETA of this game and if it were released the way it was it would get a 10 out of 10 from me. The game is amazing and has unlimited potential. As a father who games, with kids who game, this is the perfect platform for us to enjoy together. Thank you MediaMolecule.

    the beta was great, the gameplay and the ease of use when creating is spectacular. I alos like the customization you can do with sackboy, the pirate outfits and such. I can't wait to use my god of war skin on sackboy. I especially like that you can share things with other people, and you can past stickers on your sackboy just like you can in any level.     Amazingly fun game. Creation is very deep and will let you do almost anything you can imagine if you spend the time. Online in the beta was really well thought out and it seems the final version will be the same. The only bad thing about it is the delay, which fortunately I got around.

    Good game if you want to make levels within a confined environment. garbage if you just want to play a game. the 50 included levels offer no continuity, even mario and sonic back in the day had a small underlying story. i think this game is great for casuals, but overall its a step backwards in gaming.

The Beta alone is better than anything I have played in the this entire generation on PS3 and 360. I understand the hatred and jealousy that the 360 Fanboys have toward LittleBigPlanet. I was furious Dang. This game is so amazingly fun and brilliant in ways that NO OTHER games have seen. Its nice to see something so new, so fresh, so fun breathe life into a cookie cutter game industry. The Beta alone is better than anything I have played in the this entire generation on PS3 and 360. I understand the hatred and jealousy that the 360 Fanboys have toward LittleBigPlanet. I was furious when Sony pushed back LBP!     I managed to get one of the 'recalled' games. The physics is terrible. You can barely jump. Since this game is basically a platformer, and the jumping is nearly broken, I am extremely disappointed. They say they are working on a patch, well great, I've already played the game. Thanks a whole bunch.

    I assume those who rated this badly are either connoisseurs of solely the FPS and sports game genres, or anti PS3 fanboys. Even only having a small taste of the Beta of LittleBigPlanet, I can honestly say that it will be one of my favorite games this year. Even with the meager 4 levels given in the beta, I played constantly due to the plethora of incredible user created levels as well as I assume those who rated this badly are either connoisseurs of solely the FPS and sports game genres, or anti PS3 fanboys. Even only having a small taste of the Beta of LittleBigPlanet, I can honestly say that it will be one of my favorite games this year.     i played the beta and i have to say it was amazing. this game uses all of the features that are available on the ps3, including the motion controls and playstatioin eye camera. it was also so much fun to play the story mode and the online mode. the user-created levels are simply fabulous.

    I HAVE played this game (the beta at least). And I can say that it is truly everything I had hoped for and had been looking forward to for the last year and a half. I can say that this game is the first truly endless game that I have ever owned. I can picture myself 20 years from now playing the same ratty old copy of this game on my PS5-and still having a fresh new experience. Other I HAVE played this game (the beta at least).     It has a couple of minor flaws, but the overall scope & vision of this game make it one of the most impressive titles on the market, and quite possibly a new classic.
    And FWIW, this is coming from a guy who rates the PS3 as the worst choice of the big three consoles, so I'm not just being a fanboy... :)

No, what the players do with those tools is great, not the tools themselves. I praise Media Molecule for offering such a rich tapestry of creation tools, but those alone do not make the game for me.     WOW Phenomenal game!!!! I was in the beta, and that itself was amazing!!! Very easy but deep creative mode. Very good online functions. FUN gameplay!!!!! I have no idea why this game is voted so low on here, maybe just the xbots fans voting it negatively!!! ahahaha jealousy is a disease!!!

    I haven't played the game yet, as many of the voters here. So my rating is to adjust and balance the average rating that can only be wrong at this time. By what I heard, I'm pretty sure that the game is one of the best of the year, but I can't tell more.

    Not fun - i have done this all before and its so fiddly - no competition and kinda sick of it already. boring for players unless youre a wannabe game designer- lame childish noises and characters with craptastic direction. A luvvies hype machine but a waste of time and money for regular consumers -

    My advice for our faithful users is focus your attention on the Metascore for this game and not the thousands of user votes, most of which have been submitted before said users have played the game. This is a gaming community, and if people want to stuff the ballot box, there's not much I can do at this point.     Yes, I've only played the beta version so far, but that thing alone kept me entertained for hours. Designing your own levels is really fun as well as changing up the pre-constructed levels as you play them. The sackboys and girls have a lot of character as well as the card board cut outs you find in the game.     Played the Beta and it was damn Awesome. Can only imagine what the full version will be like. Possibly the greatest feat in this generation of video games.

    This is absolutely the most fun I have had on a console in the last decade. LittleBigPlanet is childlike joy incarnate; pure blue-sky fun of the kind we have not seen in years. This is the game I have waited for my entire life.

    This game is absolutely brilliant; from gorgeous graphics, to well-done physics, to beautiful pre-made levels (over 60!), to the youtube-like tagging and sharing of levels, to the Create mode used to create virtually anything imaginable, this game is a winner that comes closer to perfection than any other console game before it.

    This merely a simple game, it can only jump around, making face and expression.. the fact that this game give the player a tools kit to make a level does not make this a game deserve a 10 score.. for me this is a mediocre game.

    In short, this game brings back the old school platforming feel with a new school platforming way. Never have I been more excited about a game since God of War 2. This title truly crosses all lines in that it is great for hardcore gamers and fun for casual players. Having only played the beta, I eagerly await the full level creation tools. For a game that has only 30fps you can see why. There are no grenades or bullet penatrations like in CoD4 to make the game lag, so 30fps works just fine. Now, the soundtrack.     I got into the beta without knowing much of this game, but it was completely different experience of anything seen before. Everything was to easy to do but still exciting in a different way. Game truly felt refreshing. This is definitely a new milestone how games should be made from now on. If next Gears of War, CoD, Mario, MGS does not have play, create, share aspect I will not buy them.     I had the privilege of previewing this game a few days ago, and all I can say is that is like NOTHING you have ever played before. The integration of game development into user gameplay is genius and will keep you playing for a very long time. Great great value. Uniqueness at it's best.

    I'm in the beta; great so far, and all previews and reviews suggest the full release will be even better. It's extremely disheartening to see bitter 360 fanboys out in force to lower the rating for such a great game. Any rating below an 8 is made by a fanboy of a rival console who has never played the game, and has no intention to.

    This is a 2D platformer than you can play offline or online or a mix between the two. You can also create your own levels using simple but deep tools and then share it with the community. The community will then rate your level and you can be featured on the weekly/monthly/daily top 10 charts!

    Calling Little Big Planet a "game" is a massive misrepresentation of what it actually is. It feels more like a powerful development kit, where creative minds can quickly and easily paint their thoughts without having to be slowed down with learning how to program.     The games slow pace is not for me. 2D side scrollers should not be $60 and the user created maps are all too similar.

    There are NO real enemies!
    The Beta was fun for 2 hours-- I'm glad I checked it out but I'm not going to buy it.

    This game is really dumb, it lacks any kind of story, and really fails to appeal to any kind of gamer over the age of 4. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one because it is nothing more than a waste of time. It seems the PS3 fails once again to claim a good exclusive.

    The user reviews are at 6.2 out of 10 and the game hasn't even been released yet. Are Nintendo and Xbox fans coming here and voting zero just to bring the score down? The magazine reviewers have actually played the game. This is one of the most innovative games of our time and you must give it a try.

    Having played the beta for some time i can honestly say it's one of the best games I've played. first it's a solid platformer, secondly there's the create mode which is the most comprehensive I've ever seen and thirdly there's the share feature which is essentially youtube and works just as well. It's better than wasting your life not playing your console but sitting on a website voting a game you don't own and havent played on a system you don't own either! Very sad and dissapointing. Even with minor control issues present as stated in many reviews, it is no where nearly enough to keep anyone from playing or partake in the plethora of creation possibilities. The community is by far the best offering available on any console today that is best compared to YouTube. I give the game 10/10 (is 11 possible?)… Expand

    I rate this game a 10 simply because, while I was playing the beta I couldn't remember a time when a video game made me more happy than little big planet. Whether you are creating your own world or playing around in someone else' world, there simply is no end to the joy in which this game brings forth.

    This game is an absolute blast, i was in the beta and even though it was just a beta, it had so many tools and functions it could have sold as a full release.     This game only has a low user-rating because xbox 360 fanboys are lowering it when they neither own this game, played it, or own a PS3.

    I got an early copy of this game and I must say: this is the best platformer I have ever played - better than Mario!

    With a solid story mode game and an amazing level builder system, this game goes beyond what any other game has before or will for quite some time. If you own a PS3, preorder it now, so you can get the added goodies, and even a giftcard if you go to the right place.

    It isn't perfect! but compared to other games it deserves a 10/10 I had some network issues ( BETA) but im sure they fix this along with the minor level editor problems I had ( camera,gluing, corner edit tool etc) I personally didn't like playing the game thhat much especially alone it can get kinda boring but the creation aspect of the game is just pure awesomenessss.....     This game looks amazing, plays smooth, and it's an engrossing time sink to create your own levels. It's the best 4 player cooperative party game this gen. Though, some levels require a bit of skill so being unused to games or intoxicated could be an issue. Has amazing graphics and depth.

Lots or repeat play available with custom levels created by yourself or others, rating system to find levels tailored to your liking (need network connection to take advantage of this). must have for any ps3 owner, good game to start with for any new ps3 owner.

    The beta was incredibly fun, and surprisingly deep. Most of the naysayers have yet to experience the game. Once you pick up the controller, you won't put it down. Trust me. I played for four days straight -- when I had free time -- and only stopped playing because the beta expired. Finally, a game that makes me proud to own a PS3.

    You can never get tired of it. When you make a level, it's unique to you. It shows your personality, the quality you put into it. And when you're bored of that level, make a new one!! Hey, who's stopping you? It's so easy to do what you want to do, and it makes you more creative.

    This is one of the very rare games today that had me smiling all the time while playing. The Beta on it's own felt like the full game, but with 50+ levels burned onto the blu-ray disc and fixed glitches from the beta, calling the game perfect is an understatment.

    Having beta tested this game, I can say this game has GOTY candidate written all over it. As IGN said: "If you own a PlayStation 3, you cannot miss this. If you don't have a PS3 yet, this is the reason to get one."

    I beta tested this game and I can tell you one thing... LBP is the best "game" that has been released in a long time. It's just addictive. Makes the whole "create, play, share" to be really awesome. From the cheesy levels that make you laugh to the really cute and ingenious ones playing user generated levels in little LBP is just plain fun.

    The amazing thing about this game is how much you get for your moneys worth. The game would actually be possible to dissect into three parts, the singelplayer campaign, the online mode and the creat mode. Which ever is your choice, you wont be disappointed. The campaign mode alone is more then enough to justify the score this game is getting. Because its really just that good.     Good game but doesn't deliver on all fronts, Playing online is a lag fest, finding a usercreated level that is acutally good is unheard of, allows one to make their own level and use their creativity to guide them.

    incredably addicting, indefinate lasting apeal due to player made levels, sharp and crisp craphics. the whole idea of Play Create Share makes this game a must buy for most people. Con: Possible lag due to Peer 2 Peer use of online aspects.
