    This is a fabulous game. I predict it will start a new wave of games that allow the users to create and share their own levels on consoles. Ignore the XBOX kids who haven't even played this game. They are lowering the rating because they are mad that Sony didn't give them the game too.

    Great graphic style, fantastic atmosphere and music, incredibly fun gameplay mechanics, and especially fun with 2 players playing the game in co-op. There's also a competitive element in the multiplayer.     The only reason this game has a 6.3 is because of douches who give it a zero because it's not a shooter game. Shooters are great but they get old just like any game. Little Big Planet is great not a 10 but still pretty good. Fun to screw with people online too, slapping and grabbing people is fun

    I love everything about this game, that is apart from the multiplayer sections in story mode, but thats not enough to bring the overall score down. Its an excellent game, exactly what the ps3 needs, and good for all ages, certainly not a 'kiddie' game as creating a decent level of your own would be quite challenging.     This is the best game I have played in years. Probably the best video game I have ever played in my life, in fact. I'm very impressed with it, and I play a lot of games from all different genres on a variety of platforms. Little Big Planet has raised the bar for video games.     LittleBigPlanet in every sense of the word was over hyped. Of course graphically the game might have well been superb but overall gaming the game gets incredible dull. The level creation has its benefits but the levels were enveloped in complete idiocy and ludicrously sewn together. As, Ps3 games a gamer, i predict that this game wont get very far. With the user created content, the game play will be as rich as anyone's imagination. Yes, in this beginning stages, user content will not be as polished as Media Molecules, but users will get the hang of it and interesting levels will appear soon enough.KISS - keep it simple stupid... Media Molecule's Littel Big Planet is a well crafted, content rich game that is here to stay. With the user created content, the game play will be as rich as anyone's imagination. Yes, in this beginning stages, user content will not be as polished as Media Molecules, but users will get the hang of it and interesting levels will appear soon enough. Game play is simple and straight forward. There is no need to go thru manuals and complex button usage. Everything is as intuitive as the game. A major plus is the ability to download content from the Playstation Network for free or with a small fee. The latest... astronaut suit and the pumkin head, download it before it is discontinued. Multi-player coop is what will propell LBP to a level that no other games will reach. The interaction between different characters adds a new dimension. Lets hope that user created content will be careful enough not to create levels only for multiplayers, allowing single players to finish the level without a partner.

    One of the most stellar and inventive editing sandboxes I've ever had the joy to play. If you don't have a big smile on your face the entire time you're playing this gem then you had better check your heartbeat, you're probably clinically dead. A little on the repetitive side and requires alot of creativity from the player, but that's more than acceptable given the brilliance of the core editing design.     There is simply nothing like LittleBigPlanet anywhere else. It's a fun game that you can play with anyone, kids, adults, teens, it has appeal for everybody. The ability to create and share your own levels is something else that everyone should enjoy. This is the best game for PS3 so far.

    Awesome game. For those that don't like being creative though, this game is NOT for you. The Story mode is nice, and well done, and over time there will be a lot more user created content that doesn't suck. But you won't like it if you can't create things on your own.

    Ok. Thisgame doesn't warrant a ten, its controls are a bit too unrefined for that, however i shall ot suffer unfair damage from fanboys on either side, as im gonna go remark on gears next. Still this game is a solid nine and if the controls were a touch more intuitive it'd be a ten. The level creation tools are psychotically fun and you can make essentially anything. Hell i even Ok.     I've had the XBOX 360 and now own the PS3. IMO this is by far the best game to come out in years. In a world where every 2nd game is a shooter this is a nice breath of fresh air. Some of the levels are ingenius and the multiplayer aspect is kick @(#(.     Its a shame that an excellent site like this is being used by idiots who post comments based on their preferred console system rather than the game itself. Just look at some of the banal comments posted with scores of 0 for this game. Well I have all the consoles and think that this game is very innovative and fun - right up there with Nintendo and just what the PS3 needs.     The most fun in gaming i've had since Lego Star Wars. The online community is superb. The visuals are superb. The sounds are superb. The gameplay gets a 9 for me as jumping around successfully can be a little annoying but this is the only down i can think of and isn't enough to pull it down from a 10.     Utter rubbish, played it for 10 minutes, and every level was as poor and cliche as the next, the story line is terrible, the graphics are the only thin i could see right with this game, and wiht its im not a dork, im a video game maker look to it, if you want to run around with fluffy animals and have a fun time with it, viva pinata is for you

    This game's an absolute blast for the whole family, and everyone who visits. I have absolutely no complaints with it, controls are excellent, and the hidden treasures and puzzles are perfect. I'm looking forward to getting online with this once we've played through all of the levels.

Creation is simple to pick up, and works like a dream, and if that's not your thing, you'll have hours, no, weeks worth of fun playing on the story mode and player made levels online, be it by yourself, or with a group Absolutely incredible. Bought the ps3 for this and metal gear 4 (and blu ray movies) and i love both. This games probably not worth the money if you have no friends like some of the people on here rating it 0 as single player gets dull quickly, but putting it on with my girlfriend, trying out new levels and messing around with the creator for a couple of hours is awesome fun. These 360 fanboys should probably go and play Generic shooter 4 or whatever the latest big exclusive is and get over the fact that someones made a great game that doesnt have an m-rating.… Expand

    This game is the most innovative game I have played this gen on any console (I own both PS3 and 360). The character and ingenuity is second to none and I take my hat off to Media Molecule for daring to do something as ambitious as LBP - and pulling it off with finesse! This is my GotY (although Gears 2 is a very very close second)

    Why on earth is this game being rated so highly? I was playing games similar to this back in the days of the atari 2600, run, jump, run, jump some more. Innovation my arse. Do yourself a favour save £40 and download a snes emulator and play much better platformers for free.

    This game is absolute rubbish. I'm sure microsoft would of done a better job with this. The PS3 will never stand up to the XBox 360 and Wii, and i am ashamed to admit it as i am a PS3 owner.

    This has to be the most fun I've had playing a platformer since Mario64. Its a most buy if you own a PS3. The only reason I'm giving it a 9 is because of the 2.5D auto switching when running or jumping. Its not always perfect but it doesn't hurt the game any as the developers animated the cute and cuddly sackboy, or sackgirl, so damn well. I'd give it a solid 9.5 if I could.

    Best game to come out in years it is a must own for anyone. If you were looking for a reason to buy a PS3 this is it. No matter your gaming level hardcore casual etc... this game will meet your needs. Fantastic effort from MM and should be game of the year.

Challenging and frustrating at points, but still playable. The replay factor is high because face it, you gotta get all those stickers and objects, as well as ace the levels.     Amazingly fun game! The story mode is kind of short but the online community expands the game so much, with the custom made levels and what not. Plus, new download content every week or two will keep the game fresh and interesting. A must for any PS3 owner!

    Just beat the last story level and the whole game lived up to the hype and even surpassed it a bit. Wouldn't usually give the game a 10, id say it deserves a 9 or 9.5, but gotta cancel out the fanboys who scored it at 1 before it was even released.

    Wonderful game. Nearly endlessly entertaining so long as user content keeps flowing. There is already many user created gems floating about, id recommend picking this game up ASAP if you own a PS3, you don't know what you missing out on. A completely unique experience.

    This game is a small miracle. You have to marvel at the imagination and creativity of its creators, who also knew how to give it almost infinite replay value: even in the story mode, replaying old levels can be a thrill when playing with others online, discovering new ways of solving puzzles and interacting via hand gestures and funny faces.

    This game is awesome. I love creating my own levels in this game. I have almost all the trophies. The graphics don't have to be good in this game; when you play mario bros. (If you must), Do you care about the graphics? No! For shooters maybe, but this game has the best gameplay I've ever seen. (Minus Half-life) Buy this game; Seriously!

    I don't think the people giving this game a 0 are quite being fair, but I can understand their feeling that their voices aren't being heard. This is a solid game with notable problems. If you've ever considered yourself a fan of the genre I'd say it's worth a play-through, just don't buy into the hype that it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, because while I guarantee the first couple days you have it you'll be thoroughly engaged, it is rather surprising how quickly it becomes tired and the flaws you initially overlooked start to grate on you... much in the way that a really hot girlfriend is great at first, but then just starts to annoy the hell out of you. The physics and controls really are problematic (while at the same time, oddly enough, the physics for objects seems to be VERY solid, when it's applied to your avatar it becomes splotchy, particularly in regards to jumping, which... in a platformer becomes frustrating). I was also surprised to see basic innovations in the platforming genre absent (such as grabbing onto ledges and wall-jumping). However, at the same time, you do have the capability to grab ahold of certain objects and pull-triggers, but as this capacity to interact is selective in level design it becomes the equivalent of a quick-time event due to it's restrictions. Overall, I haven't played it for a few days, but know in the back of my mind, I'll likely pick it up and play a few levels online today or tommorrow or the next day and it strikes me that that may well be the best measure of whether or not this is a "good" game, is it something I'll wax ecstatic about for years to come? No, not really, but it's a decent game that I'll check in on from time to time and spend a half hour to 45 minutes fooling around with before putting down and going on about my day. It's casual gaming, it's very pretty, the presentation is exceedingly well-done, and there are plenty of moments that will be both elate and infuriate you as a result of it's design - but don't expect the second coming, this simply isn't the killer app PS3 owners have been waiting for and I don't expect you'll see a boost in system sales as a result of this game. Remember, any game that will do that has to be damn good to get people to choke up $400 in the mass market and, to date, there hasn't been any game on any of the seventh gen consoles that has been that good, but here's hoping Sony will turn it around yet!… Expand

    The excellence of this game cannot be exceeded. It's so fun and quirky. I quickly gained interest after watching gameplay videos... I was hesitant to buy it at first but after watching more and more videos I was set. After purchasing it, from the very moment you put it in, you're just sucked into this awesome game. As others have said, it's so nice to have something light The excellence of this game cannot be exceeded. It's so fun and quirky. I quickly gained interest after watching gameplay videos... I was hesitant to buy it at first but after watching more and more videos I was set. After purchasing it, from the very moment you put it in, you're just sucked into this awesome game. As others have said, it's so nice to have something light hearted and fun as opposed to the death competitions that are Halo, GoW, etc... (Granted, I still play Halo 3 everyday).     This game is exceptional. It's really versatile too. It's not just a platformer but it can be so many things like an old arcade classic, to a mini game like tetris. It's hard to imagine what all this game can't be. It really is big.

    The creative possibilities of this game are limitless. Not only can you play, create, and share levels online, but the game brings a good amount of developer created levels that not only offer a good source of inspiration, but are wondrously created and fun to play on their own. This is, without a doubt, the must own title on PS3.

My mom says im cute and pinches my cheek and I hate when she does that. I want to be a man, a real man that shoots with a canon and blows stuff up. I don't want to blow stuff up in a cute game, and want all things to be shades of gray or brown.     The game is great. It's all about creating content from the user, and publishing it. And it hits it out of the park on that. The tools are great, and when you can use imported pics, that will be great. All the zero ratings are just fangirls trashing metacritic ratings. Ignore them.

    The great thing about this game is the user-donated levels. I've gotten to play two "Batman" levels, a God of War inspired level, and quite a few others that are simply amazing (try Pac-Man in it; it won't disappoint). Is this a retro-style game? Yes. But it's a brilliant one because of user-designed levels (if I find the time, I just might make some of my own).

    This is probably the most beautiful and inspiring game i have played in years. its simple, creative, and innovative game. this game pretty much like a fresh air with the cute characters and beautiful Presentation. I hardly recommend it to any gamer casual or hardcore. So if you have a ps3 BUY the game now and If you dont have a ps3 Buy a PS3 and buy the game.

    If a game can interest my wife, who never plays games, then it deserves a 10 in my book. It's a great throw back to the 80's when mario was the man. Throw in user created content and the sky is the limit. Thank you Sony for taking a chance on such a great game, a game that Nintendo and Microsoft both passed up.

You won't have to worry about opening that book as the narrator will provide instructions for you during the early part of LBP. The sp campaign has a total of 50 levels that vary in complexity and style. One memorable one is a level where you must guide a hot air ballon towards a volcano and actually go inside the mouth of the volcano. I wont spoil the rest for you. You can choose to go through them solo, or team up with a buddy to access parts of the levels otherwise inaccessible. You also have the option of creating your own levels as you see fit, uploading them, and sharing them with friends. The game in its simplest form is a platformer, but its engaging in the fact that it challenges you as you progress. You'll even encounter boss battles through the campaign. OOPS!!!! Forgot to put up the spoiler warning. If I had to complain about one thing it would be the controls. Jumping can often times be frustrating especially in the later levels where platforming becomes more challenging. Go buy this game its worth owning.… Expand

Yes, the actual game play is not as exciting in many aspects as other some games (mainly from other genres). But the whole package really is amazing!     I finally got this game after hearing about it for years. Its all I expected it to be. My only gripe is that it doesn't scale up to 1080i but instead down to 480p. It still looks good anyway. Its like a virtual playground.

    It may actually be more interesting to create the levels than to play, or it may be that I'm not as into platformers as I used to, but I found the game pretty boring. The presentation is top notch, but I got bored with it pretty quickly.

    Since many people are gicing this game a 0 for no apparent reason, I'm giving it a 10 to even the score. Unlike what other people say, it's not a RPG, it's not turn based. It proves most people didn't even bother watching the trailers before posting their ratings. Shame on all! It's a great game

    A throwback to the 80s years of the platformer with a web 2.0 mentallity LBP manages to bring fun to an industry plaged by violence. It's hard not to love the adorable sackboy and the well thought levels already premade make for a lot of fun but the creating just makes this game one of the best of the year.

    Very addictive game, fun and spirited. It's great to be able to build your own levels, game is very polished aside from the laggy server when it first came out. With all the user content people can make this should keep most occupied for some time to come well after the single player game is finished.

    Boring.. Not much more than your standard side scrolling platformer. Overhyped, pretty and run, jump run.. There are better examples on the market or this style of game and the editor for all of it's massive easy to use functionality is actually complex for the average user.

    This game is amazing. I picked up my copy this last Saturday and have to say that not only was I addicted but my wife and children were glued to the TV all weekend. It is by far the best fun I have had since Mario on the NES. Great fun for you and the family.

    A stunning game, but the fact R* removed aircraft during development (There are ways to access choppers by 1 or 2 glitches, have a good rumage around gtaforums.com) and other niggles that could have been improved before release simply make me unable to give it a 10, even though I think that Liberty City is a far superior setting than Vice City Stories' on PSP. 'Nuf sed:-)

    First this game is made by the people that made rag doll rag doll kung fu a Half-life 2 mod. Then theres Garry's mod which is also a Half-life 2 mod and a addon for it called wire mod. So there is absolutely no way the developers can say they did not ripe off garry mod they worked on a mod for the same game so they had to of seen it more likely played it. I'm a big RPG fan, so any other kind of games are not really for me. But I have to say that LBP kept me up all night when I had to work 12 hours shift on the next day. Not even GTA IV could do that (well that trash didn't even now that I have played the game, I guess it's time for me to give it a 10.     This game lives past the hype it was receiving and easily deserves the game of the year award. This game never gets tiring because of the variety of levels people upload to the servers for other people to play. People were paying $350 to get this game a week early. Tell me that is not crazy.

    I played the beta of this, after finally getting a beta key, and it is no surprise for me to tell you that I loved it. The gameplay and controls seem very good and the popit is a joy to navigate, and sdackboys seem to have more charm and personality when they stick their tongues up and wave their hands in the air than most lead character do in a lifetime. Two slight negatives though, one is that there are a lot of tutorials but these would become more of a problem without the fantastic Stephen Fry narrating; and problem #2 is that I have important exams all through this next 8 months and LBP is going to spoil all my preparations for them :)… Expand

    This is the best Action-Platformer since Mario. Coming from me - a Super Mario Fanatic - that is a huge compliment. I don't know how the fan rating is only at 6.2 unless "Special Ed" rated this game a 6 two thousand times. If you have PS3 buy LBP. If you don't have a PS3 buy it and make your first game LBP. Peace.

Don't listen to the overall "user rating," as it is horribly skewed (much like that of Resistance 2 and Gears of War 2) by people who have nothing better to do with their time than to bash games that they cannot have: fanboys.
