    a must buy for any REAL PS3 owner, this game can be fun for little kids, but can be even more fun for adults who can use the level creator. Even if you are not into creating levels, people have already made some great levels, Gradius remake!     I think that the people who didn't give this game above a score of 7 aren't into the whole 'create' aspect of the game, or even life. The fact that you have an infinite amount of material to work with and you can add your own pictures to use as both photos and textures, you can create mini games such as a zombie survival game or a full fledged adventure like the story. Additionally the fact that if you have a spark of logic in you, it is possible to make complex machinery such as calculators or a game of 'Tic Tac Toe ' with only the skill needed to wire up pre-made objects and a bit of artistic skill. To anyone who cannot master the create mode or finds that the game is lacking in a lure to make them carry on I think they aught to stick to shoot em up games or an RPG.     I have never in my life seen a game where my whole family, including my mother and father at thier house, play together. With the new patch we'll all be able to create together as well. Loving this game. If you don't have it yet.. get it!!!

    What an amazing game, bought it on the realease date, and i still love playing it! Over 1000000 usermade levels online, its ¤%& fantastic!

    This is one of the best games i have ever played!!! It is probably one of the only games where you can use imagination to make, well, anything!! It is a very good game, but it does have a few glitches when you go online, but who cares?

    The greatest game ever!!! Introducing an entirely new and awesome genre of gaming, PLAY,CREATE,SHARE. The super fun Story mode is just the beginning...Creating levels and sharing them with the world is a blast, and so is playing the community's levels.

    This is one of the best games I've ever played. First off the game contains 50 pre-built levels, this is the main storyline of the games. It takes you across many different locations. The game also has 3 million+ community levels. Tis is a must buy for PS3

    I was shocked to see the user score for this game. This is not the score it deserves. An infinite playground of innovation and fun with creative potential rivaled only by its sequel certainly deserves better. I'm not a fan of insulting opinion, but this is just wrong.

However, other than the occasionally annoying plane switching mechanics, this is a thoroughly enjoyable game. The level editor doesn`t recommend what objects worked well in a level and has glicthes. It dose offer a wide range from a variety of tools you can use to make the best level you possibly can. However, only dedicated players can stand how long it would take to make a level and dosen`t offer split screen for offline players. The reason that I gave it a eight is because it`s a game that the whole family can play which makes a for unforgettable experience.… Expand

    Nary a fault to be found. This is platforming, community, and art direction blended into one of the most revolutionary games to hit the genre since Mario ate his first mushroom so many years ago. With Solid Snake out of the picture, Sackboy is arguably the frontrunner to be PlayStation's totem for years to come.

    A truely inspirational game that captures the imagination of its fellow players. And to be honest I though this game would stink, however I had a big wake-up call when it came to the community levels (which are some of the most creative levels I had ever seen in any platforming games). Get it, play it, love it...I sure did. Here's hoping LBP2 will live up to its glory!

    This game is a lot of fun and I only just played a demo version and it rocked so I can't wait to get the full version! This little game is full of BIG surprises and is appropriate for all ages, and the cat. I recommend you go and buy this game!

    I have had LBP for a long time now. I have platinum in the game so am suitably experience to review it. I think this game is wonderful. Its solid gameplay and endearing graphics make it a real treat for all gamers alike. Create a level to have even more enjoyment. These controls are brilliantly thought out with excellent tutorials. The voice over by Stephen Fry is simply the best II have had LBP for a long time now. I have platinum in the game so am suitably experience to review it. I think this game is wonderful. I could be considered a M$ fanboy in most respects as I did not own a single PS3 game since I bought it back 2 years ago (I use it mostly as a blu-ray player), until now. It is simply amazing how the developers were able to push the graphics on the PS3 like they did. Let's face it, the PS3 in terms of it's GPU performance is out-matched by the xbox360 (most developers like me would agree). LBP forces us to think about that sentiment.     My son loves this game and begs me to play it with him all the time.

    He is 9. I am 36 and I have to admit, I get a real kick out of playing it. The narrator is my favorite part. He likes designing the outfits and collecting the prizes. While you are playing in cooperation, at the end of each level it tells you who scored the most points so that is a fun little competition too.     A Very good game, the fact that you have to Co-Operate in levels helps with friendship. but the thing is, there are 2x zones that require 2 players, 3x zones that require 3 players. and 4x zones, that will get annoying. you need 4 controllers to get through those. and controllers are $50 each. 50 x 4 = $200... which is $100 cheaper than the most expensive type of PS3, it's ridiculous. But what makes up for that is the DLC(Downloadable content) such as POTC(Pirates of the Caribbean) and MGS(Metal Gear Solid). Those add new levels to play. and with Online gaming, the fun is infinite expanded. with community levels, made by other people, there's like 100 new ones per day. The really really REALLY annoying thing is the massive amounts of Back-Tracking. There are switch triggers where you need a certain sticker to get items, which those you don't get until a later level. Like let's say you're missing some stickers due to switch triggers, 20 levels later you find it, than have to go back to that level and beat it again. than that switch trigger gives you more switch triggers, and on and on and on. some switch triggers you have to go through2,3,and 4x zones to get. The conclusion: i give this game. a 9.9 :) have fun, and totally get this game. let's say you have your own ideas than you can make your ideas in your levels! you can make rockets,cars, everything. in the level editor, now go to gamestop/wal*mart and get this game........ WHY ARE YOU STILL READING THIS!!!! GO GET IT!… Expand

    Fun, creative, endless multiplayer, amazing music, wondrous possibility await you in one of the most innovative gaming experiences ever. Although appearing as a childish game it is far from it. Packed with content for all, this game pushes your imagination past its limits and opens your mind up to new levels.

    This is definitely in my "Top 5" List. This game was the reason I wanted a PS3 so badly. It's for Kids, but Adults too! Kids will love going through the multiple obstacle courses throughout the game, and if they're good at that, making levels of their own will be even more fun! I highly recommend this game for all players with a PS3!

    Not a ps3 owner myself but my cousin occasionally brings his ps3 and he had a demo of this game i gotta say its really awesome the transition from keyboard and mouse to controller really confuses you. But this game is really friendly so people who recently bought ps3 should definitely get this game along its fun and challenging platforming.

After you've played the multiplayer portion of the game, the believable storyline should explain everything. (Or most things, anyways.) Whether it be gandering for friends, or just simply playing it for the trophies, you should findAnything that meets up to par with LittleBigPlanet isn't LittleBigPlanet. It's unforgettable, unique and beautiful. A lot of creativity as well as freedom in this game thanks to it's array of customization and online features. One of the reasons you should get a PS3 is this game, just like Xbox for Halo and PS2 for GTA. The sound is incredible and it's probably the only console game, or one of the only console game, where you can design your own levels, just like Minecraft or the PC version of Skyrim. You can spend countless hours doing so if that's your kind of thing. I do have some issues with the controls and some of the level designs aren't that good. The controls don't always respond quick enough or how you want it to go, especially when you come across challenges that requires timing, it's like you're playing a flash game, but that's a minor problem. The visuals are great, the level editor is easily the best I've ever seen in a console exclusive, and the entire game has this really great sense of joy to it while playing that very few other games can offer.     The funniest part of this game is creating. I have made in total around 70 levels with almost 2 hours of gameplay on each one. You can create almost any kind of 2D level as you want and you can play on them online or offline with your friends up to 4 players or maby both of them together if you want. Needless to say, I've looked tons of hours socialising with other players, playing levels with them, creating levels with them and then screwing them over by b****slapping them. :p The levels are unique and the interface is concise and helpful so you can find exactly what you're looking for. The story missions are pretty creative aswell, I especially like the prizes you get for not dying and the prizes you get for collecting prizes bubbles. Did I mention this is one of the few games that gets collectables right? For one they're actually useful in designing your own levels and they are located in places you'de have to think to look. Adding a degree of challenge to the game. The only critiscm I can give is that it can be a bit laggy online, especially on the last level of the story mode. With everything else the game does right it's easily rectified though.

    BTW: The narrator (Stephen Fry) is awesome. He also guides you through mechanics of the game (Such as prize bubbles or level creating.)    … Expand

    after SIX HOURS, we stopped playing...we had so much fun! this game offered anything it promised! and you can also build your own level! which was a lot of fun, i have to agree, not everything worked with first try, but the moment i ended it, uploaded and had my first "awesome"    I was 20 years old when i bought this game...invited 3 of my friends for a fun evening multiplayer....

Instead they’ve done something a lot more ambitious, they have produced a beautiful sand box for players to fill with their imagination. Truthfully the only limit to this game is your own creativity.
    The game is divided in three very different experiences; the first is a ‘campaign’ where you are plunged onto little big planet from your ‘pod’ to experience what can only be described as one of gaming’s most random and spontaneous stories. I have no grievance to the chaos of the story, as a solid plot is not what the game is striving to achieve. Instead you are submerged into beautifully crafted play sets with vibrant areas, beautiful art style and extraordinary focus. Its hard to communicate what exactly brings these levels to life but its perfection can be put down to the sheer amount of love that has clearly been poured into this game at every level of production. As well as simply playing threw these platform levels you can explore to find ‘prize bubbles’ that will unlock new materials, stickers and music that you can then use in your own levels.
    This brings me to the second section of the game, ‘creator mode’. Here you start of with a set of tools that you can use to make anything from a simple car all the way to a vastly complicated Godzilla robot that can fire lava from its nostrils and crush cities. This mode can be as simple or complex as you want it to be, there are good tutorials at the beginning giving you the basics to have fun and more have been added with a patch, there are also countless publicly made tutorials that can teach you everything from making a trap door to how to make your own killer shark. When you have made something you’re proud of, you are then given a major opportunity and perhaps the most ambitious aim of media molecule yet, you can publish your work to the world.
    The final section of the game is the LBP community, with a few simple clicks you can publish your level so that the entire world can play it. A robust rating system will give you both feed back and praise and your work can easily rise up and even be placed on the world stage. The possibilities of this feature theoretically creates an infinite amount of content and although not all of this is worth playing the sheer concept of how much fun there is out there is mind-boggling.
    There are other features of this game that make it special, sack boy being one of them. This little sack of joy doesn’t utter a single line threw out the entire game, however the amount of communication portrayed threw his moment and facial expressions is staggering. He is truly one of the most loveable characters you’ll meet in a game, standing along side Sony mascots like Ratchet or Spiro. Another astonishingly impressive feature of this game is its music, with a large library of songs from the supper alternative band of ‘Battles’ to the Mexican band ‘‪Café Tacvba’, there is truly a wealth of interesting and appropriate music woven into the identity of this game.
    Last but not least is the inclusion of multi player. At any time, local and online friends can jump into your game. Hosting up to four players per party at any time the presents of others truly enriches the experience further, giving you access to new areas, multi player focused puzzles and games.
    Little Big Planet is a truly special game that doesn’t come around every generation. There really isn’t a target market for it as anyone with a soul can enjoy the humor, thrive with the creativity and have a little big load of fun.    … Expand

The reason being that, the LittleBigPlanet developers first programmed the level creating software that the gamers use, and then they proceeded to professionally make the main levels of the game. So, it is possible to recreate the exact levels that the developers made, however, it would take quite a bit of skill. Creating good, detailed levels requires a certain depth of understanding of all of the tools. To my surprise, there is a use of gates. By gates, I mean AND gates, NOT gates, and OR gates that are used in electronic programming. There are many engineering and physics principles that are involved in the creation of your level. Yet it is still very user friendly and anyone can build a fantastic level if they put their mind to it.
    The potential of this game is virtually limitless; you really can create anything your mind imagines. It takes patience and problem solving skills to perceive how every creating tool works and how to apply it to the project. As a result, even after you beat every developer made level in story mode, the adventure continues when you build levels of your own and share them with the rest of the gaming community.     Best level creating game of all time for sure. Whether you are playing the story, creating levels or playing other users levels it is superb. Coop is frustrating as hell but really fun at the same time especially on one of the last levels with that massive wheel that can electrocute you where me, my brother and my sister spent ages trying to beat it.

Its all about customizing, creating, decorating and getting the most out of what the game offers. My daughter, whom is 4 even loves playing it!     Definitely one of the most iconic franchise for the play station and a masterpiece. I will never forget all the joy and memories playing with friend. It's been 10 years since its release and its still fun and full of creativity. I really hope MM and Sony revive this franchise in the future #save littlebigplanet.

    I'm surprised to see that the user score is so low. It's the last great platformer, the first great PS3 exclusive, and one of the greatest games of all time. This game did have some very awkward controls that needed getting used to. The greater community is remarkably active in 2020 with 150-400 players online at most times.

    A stunning game, but the fact R* removed aircraft during development (There are ways to access choppers by 1 or 2 glitches, have a good rumage around gtaforums.com) and other niggles that could have been improved before release simply make me unable to give it a 10, even though I think that Liberty City is a far superior setting than Vice City Stories' on PSP. 'Nuf sed:-)

Brilliant choice of Stephen Fry to do the voiceover and a lovely graphical style unlike anything else. On top of that you have decent in game physics, the customisable aspect to the game, ....

You do need to have a fairly decent connection as well. But some of the levels online range from brilliant (God Of War theme level) to bizarre (ICO recreation) and everything in between. The physics is exceptional glass acts like glass, metal like metal and stone or wood exactly as you would expect them to act in real life. The level creator can be at times impossibly finicky but the brilliance of it once you get used to it is not to be underestimated. Anything and everything you see while playing through the story can be recreated in the level creator you only need to work out how. In fact it is well worth playing through the story again once you have gotten used to the level designer just to see the contraptions you can build and how the game designers did it (not to mention trying to pick up more prize bubbles). There is no denying LBP's obvious charm, great music and its interactivity makes this one of the best games to come out in a decade, even some of my friends who are real diehard Xbox fanboys have been raving about this.     Having played the beta for some time i can honestly say it's one of the best games I've played. first it's a solid platformer, secondly there's the create mode which is the most comprehensive I've ever seen and thirdly there's the share feature which is essentially youtube and works just as well. Bought the ps3 for this and metal gear 4 (and blu ray movies) and i love both. This games probably not worth the money if you have no friends like some of the people on here rating it 0 as single player gets dull quickly, but putting it on with my girlfriend, trying out new levels and messing around with the creator for a couple of hours is awesome fun. These 360 fanboys should probably go and play Generic shooter 4 or whatever the latest big exclusive is and get over the fact that someones made a great game that doesnt have an m-rating.… Expand

    Excellent side scrolling platformer! Its a must buy if you own a PS3. Its a build and share your own platforming game. You or friends create and share stages. Your able to play then with friends online and rate other user created stages you've played. Only complaint I have is dealing with the 3d'ish movement to the fore or aft of the screen can be a little annoying.

The intro is very unique and memorable as the english narrator guides you from a dark room through a level that serves as a tutorial and the credits pop up in the background. You won't have to worry about opening that book as the narrator will provide instructions for you during the early part of LBP. The sp campaign has a total of 50 levels that vary in complexity and style. One memorable one is a level where you must guide a hot air ballon towards a volcano and actually go inside the mouth of the volcano. I wont spoil the rest for you. You can choose to go through them solo, or team up with a buddy to access parts of the levels otherwise inaccessible. You also have the option of creating your own levels as you see fit, uploading them, and sharing them with friends. The game in its simplest form is a platformer, but its engaging in the fact that it challenges you as you progress. You'll even encounter boss battles through the campaign. OOPS!!!! Forgot to put up the spoiler warning. If I had to complain about one thing it would be the controls. Jumping can often times be frustrating especially in the later levels where platforming becomes more challenging. Go buy this game its worth owning.… Expand

    To start this off, I don't know exactly what all of the 360-fanboy-ism complaints are about, when games like Gears 2 have 6.2 user averages, but oh well. The fact is that (as a 360 only owner) this is still one of the most entertaining games I've played in years. Having grown up on Super Nintendo platforming, the nostagia brought about is stunning.     You got to love comments like the one saying critics liked it based on its creativity! Well, shock horror. Imagine! Then he goes on to say it's for kids and not proper gamers. True, you have to be creative to get the most out of this game. I didn't realise being creative meant you couldn't be a serious gamer!

    Wonderful game. Nearly endlessly entertaining so long as user content keeps flowing. There is already many user created gems floating about, id recommend picking this game up ASAP if you own a PS3, you don't know what you missing out on. A completely unique experience.

    This has to be the most fun I've had playing a platformer since Mario64. Its a most buy if you own a PS3. The only reason I'm giving it a 9 is because of the 2.5D auto switching when running or jumping. Its not always perfect but it doesn't hurt the game any as the developers animated the cute and cuddly sackboy, or sackgirl, so damn well. I'd give it a solid 9.5 if I could.
