Jan 13, 2011The Holy Grail of true 1-to-1 motion finally arrives, and there remain cries for Wii Golf physics.
-
Oct 26, 2010Unlike John Daly himself, this game is devoid of personality. That being said, the ProStroke controls have their advantages over Tiger in some cases (except using PlayStation Move doesn't feel as good as in Tiger). With such a bare career mode I hope this game takes advantage of the fact that is has room to grow in future iterations.

Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)Oct 28, 2010The Move controls work well, but the drab presentation and an enthusiast-centric seriousness lands the play experience in the bunker. [Dec 2010, p.85]
-
Play UKNot a great opening salvo from Tiger's new challenger, but impressive Move implementation means it's one to watch in the future. [Issue#197, p.96]

Feb 28, 2011This game has to compete with the Tiger Woods franchise from Electronic Arts. The Tiger Woods games are obviously a lot better, but this game also has its own charms. There are a few nice elements in this game but there are also a few points that could have been a lot better.
-
Oct 25, 2010Sadly, that is the game's only strength, so if you aren't going to be playing with Move then you're better off with the more feature-rich and entertaining Tiger Woods.
-
Jan 13, 2011If you're a golf fan it is well worth a look. John Daly's presentation values aren't nearly up to par with its competition which unfortunately skews the score low. High attention to detail with regards to swing mechanics work very well with the Move controller.
-
Dec 16, 2010John Daly's Prostroke Golf is a great display of how the Move controller can be implemented, and has officially made us excited about what the future of Move holds.
-
Oct 22, 2010This golf game has fantastic motion controls but not much else.
-
Jan 3, 2011The game did improve since the preview version, but there's still plenty to do: Too much menus when you're up to put the ball into the hole, no option to alter Move's sensitivity. Still, the game's worth a look for hardcore fans.
-
Oct 27, 2010If you can get by the shoddy visuals, there is plenty of life in this game to merit the 50 dollar price tag, including a bevy of courses, challenges, and an online mode that is just as basic as the game itself, but at least its there.
-
Gusto Games got some things right here, but there is still a whole lot of room to improve. Worth a look if you're an avid golfer (and PlayStation Move owner), but I recommend a rental first.
-
John Daly's ProStroke Golf is a good example of how to use the Move hardware effectively in a golf game, but nothing else is quite up to snuff.
-
Games Master UKDec 25, 2010In short: nice trousers, crap game. [Issue#231, p.97]

Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaJan 25, 2011The overall presentation is pretty dire and it's got no spark. Daly's been on the wagon since July this year but that doesn't mean you can't still have a little fun. We've seen the guy tee off from a beer can. We're talking about a man who has admitted the only reason he doesn't lift weights is because his health club doesn't let him smoke there. As it stands ProStroke Golf is about as sedate as a sloth on a triple course of tranquilisers. [December 2010 p75]
-
Dec 21, 2010John Daly's Prostroke Golf works as an example of the PlayStation Move, but ultimately fails in every other aspect. The core gameplay is good, but overall isn't enough to sell a package that is put up against other far more successful golf franchises.
-
Oct 25, 2010John Daly's ProStroke Golf is a realistic golfing experience hampered by limited content and horrible presentation.
-
Oct 21, 2010John Daly's ProStroke Golf can only be considered a disappointment. The golfing mechanics are no more than acceptable, and the presentation is poor.
-
When you completely ignore every other aspect of the game it doesn't matter how great your control scheme is. This feels more like a tech demo that was never supposed to be put onto a retail disc.
-
Jan 12, 2011The inclusion of Move controls doesn't do enough to recommend John Daly's ProStroke Golf. Even with the control options, the lack of modes and the plethora of other omissions and short-comings make this an incredibly disappointing game.
-
While the development team's intentions were good, the actual gameplay and presentation just don't do enough, outside of PlayStation Move support.
-
Parts of the game aren't entirely bad, but its simplistic approach will leave golf fans feeling cheapened. At best, this is a golf game for people who dislike golf.
-
Jan 6, 2011The actual golfing mechanic is spot on and very impressive, but there isn't a lot to actually do. The landscapes are hopelessly dry and uninspired, and the soundtrack doesn't consist of much else than Daly's three power sentences that follow every shot. It works as a technical demonstration of what Move can do, but not much else. If you're looking for a good golf game, look somewhere else.
