    We've all heard it before, inFAMOUS's graphics sucks, no one will refute that, but that's not why it deserves a 9 out of ten. There are many reasons why it deserves a 9 out of ten, like it's great combat, awesome exploration and fun powers. By fun powers, I mean abilities like shockwave, static thrusters and induction grind, abilities which help exploration and help give combatWe've all heard it before, inFAMOUS's graphics sucks, no one will refute that, but that's not why it deserves a 9 out of ten. There are many reasons why it deserves a 9 out of ten, like it's great combat, awesome exploration and fun powers. By fun powers, I mean abilities like shockwave, static thrusters and induction grind, abilities which help exploration and help give combat versatility. By awesome exploration, I mean the fact that everything is climbable, which I loved, need to work on Cole's walking sound (traumatic flashback). Now where getting into the meat of it, combat, combat in inFAMOUS is down right awesome in every way shape and form. Stick to rooftops and gain a vantage point that will help with aiming powers like the grenades and rockets. Or do my personal favourite and enter combat by way of thunder drop, then back off to medium range, good enough to get headshots and shockwave those who get to close, walk forward as you fight and use the surrounding cars as explosions' for those too far or who cant quite hit. Then as enemy has been placed in a forced into a group, knock them on their backs with shockwave and either use grenades or lightning bolts to finish it. Those are two of the many approaches you can take to a battle, due to the near symbiotic relationship of climbing and combat, but now its time to get into difficulty, inFAMOUS's difficulty is near perfect for me, first and second playthrough I thought it would be too challenging to go beyond easy mode. Now on my third playthrough I'm playing on hard mode, bum rushing the enemy, and using the powers where the situation calls for. Used to think shockwave was useless, now it's my best friend. I used to spam grenades whenever possible, now I use them sparingly. Point I'm trying to make is that hard mode is great because it forces you to actually think in a combat situation instead of just mindlessly spamming megawatt hammers (lightning rockets) everywhere in hopes of hitting something. Sure hard mode is well, hard, and I die at least once every 10 minutes, but it's also where the game is the most fun. So in summary (ugh, PEEL what have you done to me) inFAMOUS has fun electrical powers that help add more versatility to both combat and exploration, awesome terrain that is completely climbable, combat that has many different approaches that don't just devolve to "different gun different fight". Then combining all those together with the perfectly crafted difficulty is just part of the reason why I think inFAMOUS deserves a 9 out of 10. Emphasis on part of the reason.… Expand

    A breath of fresh air for the superhero video game genre. Infamous, while suffering frame graphical and gameplay glitches, is a welcome addition to the PlayStation family.

    This game is extremely fantastic. Great gameplay, nice looking graphics, an addicting story, and overall, an great game that made Sucker Punch what they are today.

    I finished the game and it was awesome the story and gameplay was very good, the reason I took 1 point because of the enemies on the roofs they were too many and they were shooting at me everywhere I went and it made me angry

    Excellent game. Love the choice based system of whether you want to be the hero and villain and there's a lot of moral gray area involved in these choices.

    A very well done game. Story and morality systems are a bit off but the platforming and powers are fun and the sandbox combat works well.

    Great Game. High quality graphics and fun gameplay. Like most superhero games it gets old BUT, this is has the chance to choose whether to be a hero or a villian. Highly recommend it

    Fun game to play. The mix of powers seem to work pretty well together as well. It can get frustrating at times with odd camera angles and animations, but overall a good game.

    Infamous does not stray from its genre but remains a stand-alone game among its peers. It is great looking, and sound editing is fantastic, and the story is above mediocrity but below greatness. The gameplay feels like a mix of Crackdown and Assassin's Creed. It feels as if it was made to be fun, and is until the repetition sinks in. If you have a PS3, don't hesitate to pick Infamous does not stray from its genre but remains a stand-alone game among its peers.     I loved this game, I even reviewed it. I gave it a 8 out of ten, and that's only because it got a bit repetitive and had some glitches and small power limitations to work out. Other than that I love this step away from Sucker Punch's Sly Cooper series and glad to see something worth the money these days.

    This is a spectacular game. Although this game recieved good reviews, it still did not get the scores it deserved. The best way I can describe it is "GTA with superpowers." It's a full open world city, and you can literally climb on anything and go anywhere. This is one of my favorite games of all time. It rivals GTA 4 in terms of pure fun and freedom. I would say it it even better than Uncharted, because the world is much more open and you are free to go anywhere, as opposed to being limited to predetermined pathways (like in Uncharted). I only have 2 complaints. the animations of the pedestrians and side characters are pretty bad, but it doesn't really take away from the game, it's just a visual thing. Also, it would've been nice if the city were a bit larger.… Expand

    Great game. Cole is an awesome character, and the story is great too. The gameplay is also well done, and the wide variety of powers to learn are all well executed and fun. The voice acting is stellar. The graphics are good. The only thing I was let down by was the ending but it was still a great game, and I can't wait for part 2.

These are fun but most of them are choices like throw acid in your mom's face while she's in a coma or bring her flowers. Choices like these rarely leave a room for any grey area but IInfamous is a truly great game that really makes you feel like a hero or villain with it's fun and intriguing gameplay. My only other complaint is the clunky platforming. Cole seems to enjoy missing ledges and falling 50 feet. The platforming in this game couldn't be much worse. The game is still a lot o fun and it's hard not to recommend for any PS3 owner.… Expand

    It's a good game but not one of the greatest. The game got repetitive and I came across some glitches but it's a good game nonetheless. Good story, good voice acting, good graphics for its time.

    Great game here, you can spend all your playtime just rampaging through the city or just follow the excellent story quests. This is one of the few games that actually pull the GTA style openness while managing to remain fun and engaging.

    The game is well done even though still far from perfect.Let me start by saying that the powers and combat aswell as the way you get across the city feel and look amazing. The game is also long and has many side missions and the ending is very good. The games powers, abilities and ending were the best parts and I hope the rest is improved for the next game. 8.5/10.… Expand

    great game , i prefer the sandbox type games where you dont have to stick to a story line or be on a timer, played through the game as a good guy, however on the second run i played as the evil guy and it was alot more fun, the weapons were better as the evil guy as they did much more damage and it was easier to level up......

    Now i am a BIG inFamous fan but alot of these reviews will be from the inFamous vs prototype war. inFamous is a great game, the side missions were a bit boring after you do a few of them but the graphics were not great tbh ok NOT great, and there should be a few more things to do after you complete the game.     A surprisingly deep and addictive take on sandbox gaming. Plays well, tells a genuinely good story, and entices for a second playthrough. A bit glum and repetitious for its own good but overall, quite an enjoyable experience.

    Didn't know what to expect stepping into this game. After about an hour of play I found myself seeking out the optional side missions to extend the game. Also...pretty cool that the player really struggles with the choice of whether to be "good" or "evil". A solid title that makes me long for part 2.

    inFamous is an exciting open world game with a solid story, good moral choices that change the outcome of the ending, great controls, fun mechanics, and some good graphics. Some repetition does hurt the mission structure towards the end, and RPG enemies on hard difficulty are frustrating and tiring, but otherwise this is a great game that Playstation 3 fans should own!

I am a little blown away by how good the game is. The physics are near perfect, the story is solid and there are tons of time to be spend exploring Empire City.     This game is awesome. For some reasons, I completely overlooked this game when it came out. Thanks to Sony, I downloaded when it was given to us. I enjoyed almost every moment of it. Cole, the hero, is very cool. His powers are too and I could not wait to get the next one. There was good variety of side quests and would rarely end up doing the same type of quests over and over.     great game and truly addictive, I have had it since day one and still in 2011 it is one of my favourite games. I love the good or evil options and just think the story line is amazing. The replay value really boosts up the games score .     I enjoyed the plot and the moral choices continually more than I liked the gameplay which was good too. Some parts are more annoying than hard which makes me want to not pick it up again in a hurry. If I had nothing else to play this would be a really good game. But it doesnt vie for my time due to the inconsistent physics.

    A very fun game with lots of energy and a twisted plot. Lots of weapon upgrades and plenty of enemies to destroy. Some of your friends are really your enemies. All and all an excellent game with replay value: Hero or Evil.

    Really solid game with alot to do in the sandbox environment. Playing as cole, with all of his powers is alot of fun. The game runs and looks beautiful. The gameplay is alot of fun and worth every penny. There could have been some variation in the side missions, it can become a bit tedious doing the same mission over and over again.

Controls and graphic were decent considering this is my first time playing it since it's release (just got a ps3 and the collection). The story is fairly legit, better than what I was expecting. The city is a bit redundant (Some locations are repeated on all three islands) as well as the side missions can be, but the free-flowing combat/controls is pretty tight. There was also some camera issues as well, but they were few and far between. Zeke, Cole's best friend, has no purpose in the game other than to be a fat, lazy moron, that as one of the villians describes him as the 'Fat kid on the roof'. The Fed Moya is rather annoying, andInfamous was a fairly good game, the only problem I had with it was the characters. Cole, the main character, has no personality other than a gruff voice and a rather uninteresting dialogue. Zeke, Cole's best friend, has no purpose in the game other than to be a fat, lazy moron, that as one of the villians describes him as the 'Fat kid on the roof'. The Fed Moya is rather annoying, and Trish, Cole's girlfriend, just needs to be slapped. The game play was great however, and the story line was excellent.     A fantastic experience throughout with only a few minor problems. If you want a game to make you feel like a massive badass, this is it. Its one of my favourite superhero games of all time. Enough said.

After all, justice wasn't gonna fight for itself. After having contemplated trading the game in a few times early on, the story eventually picked up and gameplay started to kick ass as I unlocked new mission types andI almost quit out of frustration after the first few missions due to the marksmen caliber accuracy of Cole's hobo adversaries but my superhero pride forced me to tredge on. I could air glide and sticky bomb mutant vagrants for days if I had to. The 2D watercolor comic cut scenes were wonderfully rendered , and helped create an atmosphere that appears as if it had been taken out of a genuine comic book. I'd buy a digital graphic novel version in a heartbeat. The story unfolds and concludes brilliantly, but I didn't care much for some of the supporting characters. Cole's GF was a **** and Zeke was a bag of douche, whose douchebaggery only intensified as the game went on. Voice acting was simply okay, save for Kessler's, who sounded delightfully ominous, calculating, and badass at the same time . While it starts off slow, InFamous doesn't take long to deliver and ends on a supremely satisfying note. It is the template most superhero games should strive for in the future.… Expand

    Infamous is an amazing game with a huge twist at the end if you managed to avoid all spoilers given on it amazing gameplay and powers made me fell like i truly was playing a superhero. plentiful sidemissions to give any completionist plenty to do.

    It took me a little bit to actually get into this game, but once I did it was a blast. Liked the powers, the story and that every choice you make in the game actually has an effect on the outcome.

    This game is like a shooting game but with thunders instead of guns, way more interesting in my opinion. One of my favorites on ps3. The story has a lot of choices and the ending is pretty cool. The powers and updates were very useful and the bosses were challenging especially the last one.

    I loved this game from the start. Climbing around the city is thrilling to the point that scaling the junk tower actually nearly gave me vertigo. The storyline is entertaining (but not spectacular) while the gameplay and handling is nearly perfect. Great game all around.

This game left me with a satisfied feeling which doesn't make me want to play the 2nd game in the series. This one was original on it's own.     I liked almost everything about this game. The storyline, the way it is presented, the videos style, your powers and the Karma with its choices and consequences, making the game various and pretty innovative.
    Cities' decay really make the idea of this game, making your experience very immersive.

While the graphics may not be up to par with what we have today, the tight and solid game play will keep you addicted its kinda like a toned down GTA with super powers IMO. What was most surprising is the fact that you can't mindlessly jump in the middle of a group of enemies and expect to win which is often the case for these types of games.     Very nice game. Mixture of adventure and FPS, mechanics take over territories like assassin's creed, varied gameplay and variety of moves that FPS dream, there is no shortage, however, bugs. Interesting game that also is about to stand alone.

    Graphics are really good if you think that this game is from 2009. Gameplay is quite addictive. It reminds me a bit the Assassin'ts Creed and GTA but without driving and guns. I think this game can attract different kind of players. Voices in Spanish were good but it was difficult to follow the plot. Anyway, this game is defenitely a must have.

    "Infamous" is a superhero game that blends "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" with "Assassin's Creed". Developed by Sucker Punch, it's an open-world action title that is an absolute blast to play. While it's not a masterpiece, the game is better than "Prototype". If you liked the developer's "Sly Cooper" titles, than you'll love this. I would rate it with an 8.5 out of 10.

    This game is truly one of the best games on the ps3, with great abilities, an interesting story, and gameplay, I would give it a 10 out of 10 if it wasn't for the sequels and expansions existing and the inconstant performance which should be more of a reason for this game to deserve a remaster with infamous 2 and festival of blood.

I didn't care for the comic book like cut scenes, however. I would have much rather actual cut scenes.     A great game that has aged a lot. The gameplay and graphics don't hold up that well but it's great for it's time. Cole's electricity powers are cool but nothing too unique. A lot of the strongpoints of infamous comes from my own personal nostalgia. Playing this game as a kid was so awesome and I thought it was revolutionary at the time and I still think it is.

This might be more of a rant, but as I said I DID like this game a lot: the fact you're a superhero is great, the powers are great and splitted in good and evil trees, the controls are loose but works just fine. I really couldn't stand the constant fightings in the street and the senseless idea of not giving you an energy bar...and if the energy bar isn't that much of an issue, the enemies will still be an issue and even if you try to escape, they all seem to be sniping with their rifles (no kidding, their aiming is very precise: you'll take more damage on the air than being on the streets). Maybe it's just my bad luck and I'm very sorry I couldn't rate this game higher: if you can pass over the flaws this game is going to be a lot of fun, but if you can't well I say..."if I want constant fighting to upgrade my skills in order to go on with the story and fight better, I'll play an RPG".… Expand

    InFamous may have some character inconsistency and the missions may be slightly repetitive, but it earns huge bonus points for having a creative premise, truly awesome abilities, fantastic gameplay and an unforeseen twist ending that pays off. For any Playstation owner, this is a must-have!

    sorry to admit but i did enjoy Prototype more. i did play it before Infamous though. in comparsion Infamous lacks story wise. the movement feels less clunky in Prototype. also i did not really dig the comic/cartoonish style of Infamous.

    I played the 2nd game three times before I decided to try the first game. And I was a little disappointed. Mainly because the militia characters are so annoying - unbelieveably precise when shooting from far away and the combats are sometimes really hard and annoying.
