Nov 7, 2013Xcelent game and a great add on in the lords of shadow franchise, great history explain8ng everything about the belmont family and relationship against evil dracula, ideal for waiting until los 2 comes away, the only fails i see were the lazy controls and i think it would be a more deep port, with improved textures and light effects, not just an hd minimun upgrade

+fun and challenging boss fights, sadly that's only a plus
-terrible story / dialogue
-bland graphics and FPS
-poor map design
-platforming feel clunky
-lack of Metroidvania actual exploration -
Nov 23, 2013No, it's not "Symphony of the Night", but it might be the most fun you can have for $15.00. I found
the boss fights surprisingly varied, strategic, and CHALLENGING. Platforming is a joy: precise and
demanding yet never unfair. You'll enjoy exploring well-designed levels suffused with an eerie,
suspenseful atmosphere. With the nav. guide off, there's a greater sense of discovery. -
Aug 1, 2017Why the hell does this game have such a low rating?
The game is a great addition to the fantastic Lords of Shadow, a beautiful story of Dracula and the Belmont family, the cutscenes are very well done despite dubbing and dialogues are very bad, fluid and fun gameplay and 2D perspective and elements Platform remind you of the classic Castlevania, challenging, fun and epic -

Playstation Official Magazine UKJan 7, 2014Although the game can look a little rough around the edges, it's still a thoroughly worthy addition to the blood-soaked legacy of Castlevania. [Jan 2014, p.94]

Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaDec 2, 2013It’s not Symphony of the Night, but if you’re a long-time fan, you must whip it. [Christmas 2013, p82]

Nov 27, 2013It fills up the gap between both Lords of Shadow games quite nicely and the HD-transition is well-done. Nevertheless, the game's a bit easy, the gameplay lacks depth and the story could have been a lot more engaging. It will keep Castlevania fans busy until Lords of Shadow 2 is released, which is the only reason we could come up with to recommend this.
