AceGamezSoul Nomad & The World Eaters isn't perfect, but it's an endlessly enjoyable game for fans of the strategy RPG.
-
Soul Nomad isn't necessarily going to blow your mind, but if you want a change of pace in terms of SRPGS, well, this is easily the game to pick up at your local retailer.
-
Though the game isn't without its own ridiculous levels of replay value (for those that really want to go evil without repercussions, a complete side story is unlocked that lets you just tear stuff up as a baddie), it's actually kinda nice to play an NIS game that doesn't take 100 hours to finish.
-
The changes has its ups and downs, but NIS has produced another fine game. The game has a sluggish start, but it picked up the pace by the end.
-
Soul Nomad is an awesome game if you get it. Fans looking for an experience similar to Disgaea may be turned off by its simplicity, but for this game has a lot going for it. The focus on strategy is refreshing, the voice acting is superb and the characters are compelling.
-
Soul Nomad is a fun game, and one every NIS fan will enjoy. For others trying to find a unique SRPG with an emphasis placed on characters and interaction, look no further.
-
It's proof that developers don't have to shamelessly rip off Final Fantasy Tactics to craft a compelling, addictive strategy-RPG.
-
With great dialogue, a refined battle system, and faster paced action Soul Nomad & the World Eaters is easily the best game to come out of the NIS camp in a long time. Fans of the developer or simply RPGs in general owe it to themselves to not miss this fantastic experience.
-
Nippon Ichi's latest strategy role-playing game marks a welcome departure from the tried and true formula it made popular in Disgaea.
-
Soul Nomad is a pretty strange game... but what emerges is a game with an old aesthetic, but new twists, making gameplay fresh and exciting.
-
Once you overcome the learning curve, it's easy to enjoy Soul Nomad's brand of charm and humor. [Oct 2007, p.118]
-
A fun game but a little uninspired in parts. There's a lot to like here but the game is missing that one little thing that would put it over the top.
-
Nippon Ichi really delivers again with old school graphics combined with 3D effects, and a great storyline with some great adult jokes. If you are a fan of tactical games and RPGs definitely pick this one up.
-
A good game, with a fantastic amount of depth and the potential for nearly limitless hours of playtime.
-
Maxi Consolas (Portugal)As for party management and battle functionality, the premise of the game is very original. But the rhythm and automatic decision during combat makes them a little boring. It’s a pretty competent turned based strategy RPG that Disgaea and Phantom Brave fans should find interesting. [July 2008]
