While it is still a decent game, it is by no means one of the better games within the series. It comes up short in a few places and overall doesn't capture the same level of fun that other games have had.
  2. Mastering each character will take some time, but that just adds to the game's replay value. Nothing can be more satisfying than beating the socks off of a friend so I strongly suggest picking up this one.

There are not any major faults, but there are not any really good ideas, either. [Aug. 05]
  4. A decent fighter, but it doesn’t really compare to the other 3D fighters that are out now. It looks real good, but it seems most of the effort was put in to the 3D conversion. This left other areas of the game to suffer.

A nice selection of familiar characters. [Dec 2004, p.88]

This addition to the series is a super cool one to me, coming from a 3D fighter background, as it maintains it's 2D sensibilities and execution that KOF is known for, and combines it with some of the more accessible aspects of the 3D fighter world. Movement is a key factor in this game, and now you can sidestep or back dash away from attacks, and punish with your own combination! The game consists of all our favorite KOF characters rumble ready for some 3D fighter action in a variety of modes that will keep you hooked! Full Review »
