  1. The game tries to get by riding the coattails of its 10 year legacy, but it doesn’t offer enough to compete with the likes of "Soul Calibur 2" or "Virtua Fighter" and has lost any edge it might have had over 2D games like "Guilty Gear."

Maximum Impact isn't a failure, per se, but it was an ill-advised move that SNK will hopefully learn a lesson from. It's better to be king of a flat empire than become a polygonal pauper.
  3. The only impact this game makes on an already saturated market is decidedly minimum. It'll take a whole load of nudges to turn this spin of the wheel into a winner.

This addition to the series is a super cool one to me, coming from a 3D fighter background, as it maintains it's 2D sensibilities and execution that KOF is known for, and combines it with some of the more accessible aspects of the 3D fighter world. Movement is a key factor in this game, and now you can sidestep or back dash away from attacks, and punish with your own combination! The game consists of all our favorite KOF characters rumble ready for some 3D fighter action in a variety of modes that will keep you hooked! Full Review »
