    Blows by the competition like it was sitting on jack stands, and is the new high-water mark by which all other driving games will be judged.

Even with all the problems, nothing even comes close to matching the sheer adrenaline GT4 offers when you're chucking a 700bhp beast around one of the game's beautifully crafted courses.     Probably the best racing game for PlayStation 2 (at least) ever existed. The most realistic (and also enjoyable) physics in PS2, the best graphics in PS2, the most cars and tracks in PS2... prove me wrong if I am! This is my very first videogame and the one I grew up with, and it is awesome. The worst things I could find in this treasure is just silly AI in a couple of certain cars, like the Cizeta V16T or the Ginetta G1 (I don't remember more vehicles with this programming mistake right now; there are 721 cars in the game!) and that there are many versions of some Japanese cars that are just the same car (an example is the Nissan Skyline R34), but they're still around 600-675 truly different cars. Also, the fact of it having around 50 tracks existing in the game, and one of them being the full Nürburgring North track (we're talking about over 20 kilometers of virtual road) makes obvious this game fills the DVD up to its 4.3 GBs capacity! Polyphony Digital's outstanding work with this game made my childhood a lot better, so if you got a PlayStation 2, save 1.5MBs in your memory card for this gem. It's worth it, I promise!… Expand

    This is an amazing game.
    All of the cars were beautifully modeled, compared to the first two games, where all of them were just a bunch of pixels.

    The tracks are increased, giving more uniqueness in the game.
    You can race on Sarthe, Nurburgring, Suzuka, and ov every track around the world.

    Driving licenses return, and its more challenging then the previous one. Its more harder.
    Youre gonna have a hard time beating them if youcare not careful.

    The graphics are a great improvement.
    Nuff said.

Too bad Sony pays off everyone so that games that could be great can't be seen on good hardware. GT3 looked just like GT2, pop- up, graininess and all, and GT4 will look the same way. Don't be fooled by the screenshots. The XBOX couldn't do that and as we all know it is about 3 or 4 times as powerful as the PS2. Find a different reason to back a company than because of its out of date name. Forza will kill this game because people that love cars will actually be able to see what the cars look like today, not what they looked like in '98 when the PS2, oops I mean PS1 came out. Sorry, I get the graphics engines mixed up when I see them. LOSERS!… Expand
