    Someone help.

    Im locked in a basement and I'm forced to write this review. Im about to be shot, so ill make this quick. This is an amazing game. All of the cars were beautifully modeled, compared to the first two games, where all of them were just a bunch of pixels. The tracks are increased, giving more uniqueness in the game. You can race on Sarthe, Nurburgring, Suzuka, and ov    Someone help.

    This is an amazing game.
    All of the cars were beautifully modeled, compared to the first two games, where all of them were just a bunch of pixels.

    The tracks are increased, giving more uniqueness in the game.
    You can race on Sarthe, Nurburgring, Suzuka, and ov every track around the world.

    Driving licenses return, and its more challenging then the previous one. Its more harder.
    Youre gonna have a hard time beating them if youcare not careful.

    The graphics are a great improvement.
    Nuff said.

    Las personas siempre suelen hablar de GT2, GT3, GT6 pero sorpresivamente jamás hablan de Gran Turismo 4, ustedes podrían imaginar que tal cantidad de vehículos, de efectos, de música, de pistas, de modificación, el despliegue visual y la jugabilidad exquisita que tiene este juego corra en una PS2? jamás se hubiese pensado. para mi el mejor juego de la saga. Perfecto

    GRAPHICS! THESE GRAPHICS! Best racing game you can find. Year 2005? Are you kidding me? Best racing simulator, there is no other. License system, good old unlocking cars and 24 hours events. Beautiful.

    Quite honestly my favourite game ever made. I played it again recently and there is still nothing else like it. Of course, modern driving games like GT6 and Forza 5 have better physics, graphics and a better selection of cars and tracks but they lack something compared to to GT4. The world map containing every dealership, race course and race event is a fantastic idea and I am still yet to see a game layout that can live up to it. Of course though, a game is not all about the layout, it's about actual gameplay, which GT4 also nails. It was comfortably the most advanced racing game for a number of years and got the very best out of an ageing console. Another thing I love about this game is the rate of progression and it's sheer length. A lot of racing games allow you to jump into some of the world's fastest cars almost right from the off, whereas others take so long before you get to drive anything good that it almost takes the fun out of it. GT4 gets the balance perfect. The way you have to start by earning all of your racing licenses and gradually working your way up to unlock different types of car for different types of races is something that makes this game amazing. It is a game that is incredibly challenging to complete to 100% and that is another reason why I love it so much. Easily the best game I've ever played. A solid 10/10… Expand

    Gran Turismo 4 is quite possibly the best game in the franchise. It pushes the PS2 to it's absolute limits. Hundreds of cars available for you to drive on real and fictional tracks all over the world. Absolute recommendation for everyone who has a thing for cars and video games.

You will only get 700+ vehicles if you played GT4, GT5, and GT6, or Forza Motorsport 7 and Horizon 4. There is no better menu atmosphere for a game like this one; there is no more iconic opening to a game, and no other game that lets you test drive the very first patented car ever: the 1886 Benz Patent-Motorwagen. It is all here, in a PS2 DVD disc.

    Quite possibly the greatest racing game of all time, needless to say. The amount of attention to detail, cars, tracks, career mode races were truly remarkable. No Gran Turismo game has ever reached the same heights of superiority over the racing game genre, and some newer entries of the series can’t even match this near 20 year old masterpiece for single player content and cars.     GT4 was a fantastic racing game that made you really feel like you were a racing game player. When I played GT4 on my PlayStation 2 I was playing the most racing game that could be considered a racing game on the PlayStation 2. The PlayStation 2 had a lot of racing games but GT4 had a lot of racing game themes and settings and mechanics that made it feel more like a racing game than otherGT4 was a fantastic racing game that made you really feel like you were a racing game player. When I played GT4 on my PlayStation 2 I was playing the most racing game that could be considered a racing game on the PlayStation 2. The PlayStation 2 had a lot of racing games but GT4 had a lot of racing game themes and settings and mechanics that made it feel more like a racing game than other racing games on the PlayStation 2. I would go as far as to say that other racing games on the PlayStation 2 were not nearly as racing games as GT4 because GT4 was more of a racing game than the other racing games on the PlayStation 2.     The best GT game yet, but i can still think of plenty of improvements i'd like to see in GT5. Car damage would be a good start. Also a bigger variety of cars would be good, the selection of R34 skylines is massive, but it's missing things like cossies and RS turbo's. Modifications such as those available on need for speed would be good, and the rally mode needs to be more like colin mcrae rally (the handling on the rally mode is pretty crap really). The introduction of the pit crew is a vast improvement over GT3, now the car doesn't magically levitate and change the tyres all by itself without actually removing the wheels first. Bring on the PS3 and GT5!… Expand

    This game will keep you amused for hours on end! There is so much crammed into the small disc, it will take ages to complete the whole game! The 4 years they spent on this one were so well spent, I would get a PlayStation3 just to have a go at it. If you don't have this game then it will be the best buy you have ever made!

One more thing, there are hardy people who would race for 24h consecutively (unless they don't got a life) Even though there's b-spec, that's kinda boring to let the AI win for you. Especially considering that Endurance races still feature 5 ops to contend with. Games like TD LeMans (PSX) is an example of a gaming/racing challenge despite it's low graphics and soundtrack. Hope the producers and programmers wake up and smell the coffee before delivering GT5 or it too will be an even bigger disappointment.… Expand

    Best racing game you can get on Playstation 2.

    The graphics are great, awesome performance system, good racing/menu music, many interesting cars, and good old and new courses! I like the car sounds too, but it is not the best.

    Another thing that i really like is that you can drive in many ways. The licences, missions, rally, a-spec and b-spec, and endurance racing!

    Truly an amazing game and one of the pillars of the racing genre! The graphics (for the time) are simply incredible, with amazing car models and track detail.

    Many of us Sim racers started loving racing sims because of Gran Turismo on PlayStation 1

    Best game of the series hands down. Everything from the previous games but better. Have extremely fond memories of playing it on my uncle's PS2. Pushed the PS2 beyond human imagination

    Speaking of the GT Auto shop - their new hire, Waltuh Copeland, and his gang of minion-esque Doppelgangers will ensure your pride and joy (Copen) is well looked after. He'll even drive it for you if you ask!

    Bottom line: if Gran Turismo 4 was a building, it'd be the tallest. If it was a star, it'd be the brightest. And if it was a number, it would be 69.

    One of the greatest racing games of all time, with a great car list, great soundtrack and overall great presentation that most games fail to achieve now. It's like GT3 but prettier and more of it, a bit like what GT2 is vs GT1. On real hardware it still looks good, and the photomode (with enhanced graphics within it) was well ahead of its time and can still produce great images (easilyOne of the greatest racing games of all time, with a great car list, great soundtrack and overall great presentation that most games fail to achieve now. It's like GT3 but prettier and more of it, a bit like what GT2 is vs GT1. On real hardware it still looks good, and the photomode (with enhanced graphics within it) was well ahead of its time and can still produce great images (easily exported via USB, something many new games don't offer). The license tests can get boring, but none are overly difficult and you can complete the game entirely in B-Spec mode if you really hated them that much. The arcade mode is also relatively expansive, giving plenty of scope to make your own gameplay if you don't like the GT career.… Expand

    This is easily the best Gran Turismo game and one of the best racing games of all time. It pushes the PS2 to its absolute limit, had an extensive car list, and probably the best career mode in any racing game.

    Genuinely can't find anything wrong with this game. Gargantuan amount of content, both in terms of vehicles and events, lots of customization and tuning options, superb graphics and handling for the time, and a great soundtrack. If I had to pick a weak spot, it would probably be the meh chasing camera, but that's it.
