Its an addiction, a very good one at that, where you can make up to 2,999 new friends for just 9.95 a month. A MMORPG that set its own standard on the PC world has indeed set another one on the console world.
-
Game InformerYou can make friends and enemies. You can head off a new quest, or perhaps join a guild. It's never the same game twice. [Feb 2003, p.95]
-
Finding friends is painless, and making them on EQOA is half the fun. It's the community aspect of EQOA that sets it apart from other games of the genre, and other online titles as well.
-
There is plenty to see and do here so do yourself the favor and buy this game . . . just dont skip too many work days, okay?
-
Provides a great, online fantasy-gaming experience, albeit one that's not quite as grueling, unforgiving, or complex over the long haul.
-
If you enjoy hacking a lot of monsters and are willing to put the time into the game that it demands, you'll probably have a good time with EverQuest Online Adventures.
-
If youre an RPG fan with tons of free time and patience, or if youre an EQ fan dying to see what Norrath was like hundreds of years ago, EQOA is a great time.
-
A captivating experience.

GMR MagazineGet a keyboard for your PS2 or don't bother playing. However, with a keyboard, this is EverQuest, the PC phenom, in all its addictive glory. [Feb 2003, p.80]
-
Taking the core idea of "EverQuest," the developers streamlined it and simplified things to make it easily accessible, yet just as addicting as the original game.
-
Though there are certainly better options to be found on the PC platform, PS2 owners who can stomach the repetitive combat (not to mention the $9.95 monthly fee), have an extra USB keyboard and a healthy chunk of free time laying around, and want a solidly designed introduction to the MMORPG craze could do worse than to give Evercracka spin.
-
Many will find the game dynamics too slow, the missions too tedious, and the combat dull. All this wrapped up in mediocre graphics and sound. So, in a sense what we have is an MMORPG that is made for fans of MMORPG's, and not for many others.
-
GameNowGood, but not the revolution its PC sibling was. [Mar 2003, p.44]
-
The interface is simple and easy to learn, and thanks to a few good decisions on laying out the controller, you wont get lost in a haze of menus.
