    It's casual unfriendly. It's called Master Duel so if you are anything else but master I would not recommend this game. The hardcore Corean gamer will pull out unbeatable(10*, 4000atk/4000deff, spell immune, resurrect on death, spell effect, instant win) monster from the first turn with series of chain spells and monster effects and if you manage to defeat that monster he will just bringIt's casual unfriendly.     I have been playing Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel for a week now, and it definitely has a bright future, but at the moment the balance is exteremly bad, like VERY BAD.
    I am a casual player, and all new cards, after Duel Monsters, is COMPLETE **** 1. Opponents turns takes a minimum of 10 minutes, always activating some effects, spell cards, trap cards, and in no time they have    HONEST REVIEW

Opponents turns takes a minimum of 10 minutes, always activating some effects, spell cards, trap cards, and in no time they have like 3-4 monsters with very high ATK, and effects that stops all your spell cards, trap cards and card effects. This is literally every duel, and I am just at the beginning... this takes all the fun of the game. Every card after the original DUEL MONSTERS IS A COMPLETE ****. One of my opponent even activated first turn a card without tribute, with 0 ATK and DEF. BUT this card was not affected by any spell card, trap card, monster effect. if I attack this card, it cannot be destroyed by battle, and opponent never loses LP regardless if this card has 0 ATK and is in attack position. Another effect of this card is if it attacks you, you lose always HALF of your LP LOL. It has like 5 different effects, WHAT THE **** IS THIS ****, EVEN NOW I AM SO MAD writting this lol.
    If you are new to this game and a casual player, just avoid duel for ranking, it's useless. Play SOLO or find a friend to play against. All older YuGiOh cards are useless
    If I destroy monster, he just brings it back instantly with some fancy effect.

    If KONAMI IS reading this, make an option to play against a computer, and you to have an option to create a deck for the computer.
    Let us at least play for fun.
    I believe someday it can be balanced and become very good, but at the moment I can give only 1 star.

    P.S. Cards like Pot Of Greed, Graceful Charity, Cyber Jar are banned and there is one card called Michion The Timelord that is not banned ? Just google that card and see it's description.. you will understand how unbalanced the game is just by looking at this card only IMAO.

    For casual players
    KONAMI did not add any special animations when you summon the 3 god cards (RA,Slifer and Obelisk).. The other shiny cards after Duel Monsters have special animations. They just did not bother to do anything about the real cards.
    So bad, so bad.

    The game was released to Google Play 5 Hours ago, I downloaded it and i cannot use it, because the button to accept Privacy Notice is unclickable.. I have to click and read the privacy, but its redirecting me to the beginning of the screen and cannot move forward, lol

    This is a predatory game even though players claim you can build decent decks with the free gems you are given. The majority of beginners will feel rightfully disgusted by a game that does nothing to teach them deep mechanics, and where most powerful decks consist in ending duels in two turns.     Too much waiting every turn, i have game about half hour to see some pro gamer rekted me) Over and over again) Bronze rank start with pro gamers... One shots on 2-3 turn or even on 1st( 2 points only for visuals and sound. If you new to YGO stay away it's totally cruel to new gamers!

    It’s way too slow and way to play, the building of decks is awful, if you want to have any competitive edge you have to spend cash really or you will be outpaced. “Ow but it’s free to play” Not really when you have spend so much to keep going to explore new decks and strats, it’s predatory and really embarrassing. Really wanted to like it, but this is bad, really bad.

    Their account system is complete trash. They could have easily made it so you just log in with your Konami account, but no they went with data transfer. Now because I accidentally clicked new game on my pc version I can’t transfer data to it, so now I need to create a new steam account if I want to transfer data to the PC version. #CancelKonami 0 stars, and never getting another dollar from me.

    Started out pretty good. You get some starter decks from playing the solo mode but as soon as you're in PvP duels. It's the usual pay to win bs I've come to expect from Yu-Gi-Oh. If you're not playing one of the meta decks, with one turn victories you've already lost. You've got people playing multiple limited or forbidden cards like they forgot to put the restriction in the game orStarted out pretty good. You get some starter decks from playing the solo mode but as soon as you're in PvP duels. It's the usual pay to win bs I've come to expect from Yu-Gi-Oh. If you're not playing one of the meta decks, with one turn victories you've already lost. You've got people playing multiple limited or forbidden cards like they forgot to put the restriction in the game or players just modding.

    Pay to win. The decks are broken, cards exist who negate everything and you cannot counter them. Thats why almost all players have the same cards. Not worth your time

    The ranked are 30 mins for waiting people who summon 20 cards and do OTK in turn 2.
    And u can play ONLY if u play a meta deck. Every single other decks are unplayable

    Basically you need to go first and play a broken deck that you are supposed to copy card to card, just to have a chance of winning. Anyone can go first and checkmate the opponent even before they had a chance to play.
    The days when we used to brew decks and have fun are long gone by the money hungry machine of Konami, The current    The game (digital or in paper) is frustrating and not fun.

    A KONAMI simplesmente não liga para as suas franquias.
    O card game é e sempre será divertido, porém já faz tempo que a Konami não faz um game a altura.
    Resumindo, para um jogo lançado em 2022, parece que tudo foi feito com pressa e apenas para cumprir tabela. Não me leve a mal, mas toda a diversão que você vai ter nesse game é proveniente do próprio card game, e não do jogo "MASTER    A KONAMI simplesmente não liga para as suas franquias.
    O card game é e sempre será divertido, porém já faz tempo que a Konami não faz um game a altura.
    Resumindo, para um jogo lançado em 2022, parece que tudo foi feito com pressa e apenas para cumprir tabela.
    Não me leve a mal, mas toda a diversão que você vai ter nesse game é proveniente do próprio card game, e não do jogo "MASTER DUEL", que poderia fazer MUITO mais do que fez.
    O modo solo é simplesmente esquecível.
    Se você esperava alguma atenção para modos de jogo não competitivos, esqueça, o jogo simplesmente não te recompensa se você não buscar o competitivo.

    E pior, o competitivo também é largado, com uma ranqueada sem novidades ou recompensas relevantes, eventos feitos esporadicamente e também sem um sistema de recompensa legal.

    O jogo também te trava de várias formas claramente artificiais, pra não te dar recompensas. Exemplos: pacote de cartas legado (recompensa pelos duelos ranqueados), só te dão 2 cartas por pacote, além de dar cartas irrelevantes e que não podem virar recurso pra fazer novas cartas; gema pela subida de nível na ranqueada (uma das melhores formas de juntar gemas, mas, a cada nova season você não vai voltar da ranqueada do zero, isso pra te travar de obter recursos de subida de nível) e por ai vai.
    No geral, você começa sendo bombardeado de recursos, mas depois o negócio simplesmente desanda de uma maneira que estraga a experiência, parece que o jogo não quer mais que você jogue.

    Enfim, a KONAMI deveria ter vergonha na cara e fazer um game realmente relevante para o formato, que merece cada centavo do investimento que eles não fazem.    … Expand

    I left this card game because of how broken it was and this application seemed like a good time to return to find that it is more broken than ever, there is not a single turn that you can summon a monster with 10001 indestructible effects and win in one departure. It's not enough to ban cards, this game needs a complete makeover.

    1- the mentality of the players...
    It is clear that many of them have nothing against those who play differently and remain fairplay.
    However, the vast majority of comments I have read were at best disrespectful at worst insulting to anyone who didn't play like them, be it users of old decks, new ones or blockers.
    2- Considering the glaring differences between the old fast decks and the new slow ones, there should be the possibility to choose between the 2 game's modes.

    For me a good game is a game that gives everyone a chance to play in their own way, to find a playstyle that suit them, not a game that seems to offer several archetypes to finally just impose one or two.
    Balance issues in PvP games are everywhere but this is the first time I see something like this or at least feel this way.

    I dont care about wining or loosing, what i want is to have fun while playing/learning something that is new to me.
    So now I have 3 choices :
    - I stop,
    - I build a floodgate deck since these meta decks really don't interest me,
    - i forfeit everytime i end up against one of those decks (wich seeems a bit unrealistic since the vast majority is made of them).

    The worst thing is that feeling of copy/paste between my opponents, i swear i checked their names just to be sure it wasn't the same player --'

    I have played MD until the end of December 2022. I would like to make it clear, that I am speaking from my own experience and as a player who went to Diamond 5 I want to give my opinion on the game.

    Yes, it is true that the game is a good F2P, at first. Newcomers will receive a good amount of Gems and support to make a few decks of your choice, be it for casual or ranking. However, the    I have played MD until the end of December 2022. I would like to make it clear, that I am speaking from my own experience and as a player who went to Diamond 5 I want to give my opinion on the game.

    Yes, it is true that the game is a good F2P, at first. Newcomers will receive a good amount of Gems and support to make a few decks of your choice, be it for casual or ranking. However, the Gems' income from playing the game alone becomes quickly inefficient. At the moment, I have stopped playing, you make 145 to 195 Gems from doing daily missions by playing in rankings or events, including logins and watching live duels. Those Gems are necessary to acquire cards. For 10 packs of 10 cards, you are guaranteed to received at least a SR, it cause 1000 Gems, plus if you have no UR the next 10 packs guarantee 1 UR. A F2P player can only acquire 1 bundle of 10 packs per week. It is true tournaments and events gives you more Gems through their own missions, but those aren't always available and you need those Gems to get those packs.

    Speaking of packs, I would like to speak about the issue with them. MD announced a new selected pack with 4 new archetypes in it. So I kept my Gems from my missions, since I was interested. I accumulated over 4 000 gems. When the selected pack was released, I bought the bundle of 10 packs 4 times. The results I got was, 2 out of the 10 URs necessary to play this deck. The biggest issue I have is that they aren't doing a specific pack like they did with previous archetype on release date and even if they did, I still need to buy 10 packs or craft a SR or UR card of that specific archetype just to have access to that archetype pack and said pack will be only available for 24 hours, regardless if the client is down or not.

    The material system of MD works as the following; you have a card you don't need, you have the option to destroy this card and create 10 materials equals to this card's rarity and quality. For example; if I destroy 1 UR non-foil I get 10 UR materials, if it was foil = 15 UR and rainbow foil = 30 UR. From those materials, you need 30 to create a card from the same rarity then those materials; so 30 UR to get 1 UR cards. Which mean, if I don't buy many random packs and get multiple URs and SRs I don't need I'll never get those more difficult URs to get. Also, I couldn't destroy more URs, because some of them are classified as Legacy, which you can't destroy even if you have extras of. Plus, it's not possible to try out a deck before using your resources on, the only exception is if they are available on Story Mode, but they restrict what you can play in the structure deck.

    My biggest complaint in the gameplay is the absurd amount of time to play a turn. I had to wait 6 to 8 minutes to play my turn, or when my opponent takes 3 to 4 minutes to decide to play that face-down Called by the Grave. I should not wait so, so, so long to play my turn and my cards. The turn should be restrict to five minutes or a penalty for inactivity of 20 to 30 seconds, punishing those who make the decks and immediately play them without taking the time to read their effects.

    The ranking system is flawed. You can only climb the ranks. This is an issue, since you are stuck on the rank you have climb to and there's no penalty to lose multiple matches. Which mean, if you are at Platinum, but your deck isn't strong enough to defeat anyone, you are stuck at Platinum until the end of that season making duel experience miserable. The ranking should work around the experience of the players and not the amount of duels they have won in a row. Free to play isn't an option, since it is completely random and the only way for me to know the level of the opponent I'm getting in is through the brief description of the room.

    As for those other ways to duels, with the exception to ranks and events, they are useless. You can't get Gems except those two modes. Unless you are playing with a friend in free duels, there's no need to play Free, Story or multiplayer if you want your daily Gems. Also, forget to surrender if you have to go and still manage to pull off the mission during your rank duel, because you need to either win or lose the duel to complete your mission.

    Since decks can be difficult to make because of the limited resources, events are hard to complete since those are characteristic specific. Making your duels boring and difficult, since the other option, rent decks, are terrible.

    Finally, I spent a large amount of money in the hopes to get more decks and further the ranks, however my attempt was futile since I buying so much gave me nothing in return. Not even enough to get the cards I wished to craft. If the situation was in real life, I would have at least have the possibility to sell the unwanted cards to get a bit of my money back.

    Yes, this game is F2P, but don't do the same mistake I made. Don't spent for a possibility.

    Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel is an amazing introduction to Yugioh, and for returning players it's also fun with it's strange mix of the TCG and OCG banlist. The mates are very cute and/or fun and the fact that you can just have a car as a mate is very funny. The events, while they can be hit-or-miss, are overall pretty fun and unique ways to play the game. Overall, a fun Yugioh experience that IYu-Gi-Oh Master Duel is an amazing introduction to Yugioh, and for returning players it's also fun with it's strange mix of the TCG and OCG banlist. The mates are very cute and/or fun and the fact that you can just have a car as a mate is very funny. The events, while they can be hit-or-miss, are overall pretty fun and unique ways to play the game. Overall, a fun Yugioh experience that I would recommend.… Expand

    Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is an awesome game that Yu-Gi-Oh! fans, both new and old would love. I honestly would've probably given this a lower score, but they just added the option decks from YGOProDeck directly to the game. This just fixes one of the major issues of the game and warrants it a better rating. All in all, fantastic looking graphics, and it plays well. What else can you really ask from a card game?

    Without going around it too much, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is, to date, the definitive game dedicated to the collectible card game. Aside from some elements that will turn up your nose a little, such as the limit of only twenty decks, it provides players with all the tools necessary to explore and play Yu-Gi-Oh in the best way, all enriched by excellent animations and original elements, such as the lore of the archetypes, very appreciated. The future success of the game will depend exclusively on the update frequency that Konami will decide to adopt, but for how they are behaving today, we can only be satisfied.

    Konami managed to make the best Yu-gi-oh adaptation to this day that will bring many surprises to both old and new players because this game isn’t the same one we used to play 15-20 years ago. The learning curve is huge and it requires a lot of time to learn all the decks currently available, so be ready for a lot of grinds.
