Much as was the case with World of Tanks, World of Warships does a lot of things really well. Its gameplay is easy to get into but allows for a fair amount of depth in how you approach each battle

World of Warships is a wonderful, captivating and finely crafted tactical/action game about modern naval warfare. Fun and engaging right from the start, yet accessible and easy to understand for newcomers. Wargaming.net has produced his best game and it is indeed one of the best games of the year.

Wargaming has done it again. World of Warships is a fun World War II game with a lot of ships and an epic battles that the players will like. However, the free to play money needs to do better, because the player needs to pay a lot of money to buy the best ships in the game.

World of Warships is fun, engaging and simple (at the beginning). The various classes offer different type of gameplay and sinking other ships feels really good. But if your team is bad there is nothing you can do.

You should be interested in World of Warships. It's not possible to determine whether this game will be such an enormous success as World of Tanks is but there is a large player base building right now. The attractiveness stems from (again) simple controls, intuitive mechanics, attractive competition and great satisfaction that comes with every success.

World of Warships offers veteran MMO captains and World of War newbies alike a lot to write home about – in this case, loose lips float ships.

A unique and satisfying bit of seafaring, with enough depth to rival the Atlantic. [Dec 2015, p.83]

World of Warships follows in the footsteps of the massively successful World of Tanks in converting a slow-paced and complicated form of combat into an easy to approach and entertaining format. Huge ships and the oceanic environments they dwell in simply don't offer quite as much tactical maneuvering possibilities as you get driving tanks and the game doesn't manage the important balancing between skill and randomness quite as well as the Tank Game does, but the special appeal of oceanic titans firing massive broadsides at each other more than makes up for it and the game is certainly off to a promising start. This is Wargaming's richest and most rewarding team game to date, with the most diverse set of classes and skills of any of its games.

Potentially WoWs has some great gameplay, but problems that were carried over to release version from beta preclude us from giving it a higher score. [Nov 2015, p.58]

World of Warships is Wargaming’s newest Tactic MMO based upon World War II. It´s versatile and fun, but sometimes it feels too slow and we miss some graphic improvement, and of course, submarines.

For a free MMO, it’s technically proficient, looks great, and will provide a fun experience. Even though I couldn’t find myself getting into it, I definitely understand why it has the following it has.

Contrary to appearances, slower pace of combat never makes it boring. Successful hits from long distance are very satisfying, even after many hours. It's a pity that the micro-transactions system is not perfect.

Once you get past the idea of being a ship collector with its limited storage space and World of Warships’ free-to-play expensive shenanigans, which shouldn’t be that much of a negative against the game’s great gameplay, World of Warships ends up a refreshing title.

A good and tactical free to play game, that intelligently mixes its mechanics in slow paced but tense and fun matches on the sea. It's probably the best of the World of War series from a gameplay standpoint, and the variety of ships changes the approach of the player in impressive ways. Might be a bit low on content compared to Tanks, but it won't be long till more stuff gets added.

Wargaming knows how to make great multiplayer strategy games, and World of Warships is just another example. It you enjoyed World of Tanks or are interested in the concept, it's a great experience that deserves a try.

At first it seems war ships are a lot less flashy than tanks or airplanes. At sea it is all about tactical navigation, forward thinking and the ability to see the bigger picture. It is amazing how World of Warships has all these elements, without having to slow down.

This new installment from Wargaming is a breath of fresh air. The gameplay may seem slow for newcomers, but in the end you will likely sink hours into this game without even realising it.

World of Warships is Wargaming’s finest vehicle combat game, but its free-to-play model is getting prohibitively expensive.

It might not have the unbridled thrills of World of Warplanes nor does it possess the immediacy of World of Tanks, but World of Warships manages to fill a special spot for action gamers.

Ultimately, the excitement that comes from commanding powerful ships during explosive battles on the high seas overshadows these faults. The thrills that await, along with the promise of unlocking advanced ships down the road, make World of Warships an enticing expedition into the sometimes turbulent waters of free-to-play games.

With its tense naval battles and huge array of historical vessels, World of Warships is the free-to-play MMO that can make a wargamer out of anyone.

While the sea battles are intense and tactically challenging as well as easy on the eyes the maritime warfare lacks clan support and big teams.

If you've played World of Tanks and Warplanes you already know the drill. On the other hand, ships controls are interesting to master, and the slow-paced gameplay is good for a change.

A good game that relaxes you with its leisurely gameplay and has a great potential, but is simpler than World of Tanks in terms of tactics and in my opinion was released too soon. [11/2015, p.50]

World of Warships starts out well. The game is fast, it looks good, and it’s fun. Progress soon comes to a crawl, however, and the repetitive grinding, off-set only by a convoluted Free-to-Play system, dampens the experience in ways that the superb graphics and quick multiplayer matchmaking do little to offset.
