    - Battle for Dazar'alor was a great raid
    - Mechagon, Underrot and Freehold were good dungeons
    - The questing experience FOR ALLIANCE was fantastic, FOR HORDE it was much worse.
    - Gave Azshara's character more structure and was one of the only positive character arcs which came from this.
    - Some of the cinematics were great. 'Old Soldier' was a fantastic example of a good cinematic.

    Cons

    - The heart of Azeroth, and the associated Azerite gear had the initial depth of a toddler's swimming pool with 3 'options' to choose from on each piece gear. Atleast 1 ring being utility based and having no useful meaning. This was slightly improved by adding 1 more option, then 2 more options.
    - Island expeditions were the most viable way of farming Azerite, and were a huge conceptual disappointment to the expansion, what was advertised as 'Being able to visit anywhere on Azeroth and exploring new lands' became a grind fest of 'pull the island and nuke it as quickly as possible'
    - Warfronts were another example of this, being advertised as a similar mode to that of the Warcraft franchise, to being a trivial zerg of players with no meaningful rewards.
    - The lore gave me little to no interest following on from legion's ending. This was the perfect place to end the story.
    - N'Zoth's end was the most anti-climactic ending possible, and for a character that has been as old as classic, this was hugely disappointing.
    - Uldir, barring MOTHER, Zul and Fetid Devourer, was a bad raid.
    - The Devs would literally lie to us by saying that Sylvanas is a 'morally grey' character after burning Teldrassil. She would then go on to betray the horde completely. This is not 'morally grey'
    - By the end of the expansion, boosters and gold sellers were running rampant and pay to win became as prevalent as it had been since WoD and the introduction of the token.
    - Bugs would plague this expansion from the beginning to the end of it. E.G. Tol Dagor, a dungeon, would often have mobs which would aggro THROUGH THE FLOOR, this was not fixed until towards the end of the expansion.
    - As with each WoW expansion, the class tuning was horrendous, and little to no effort was put in to fix this.
    - The entire premise of the expansion was a premise that the community didn't care for. by 2018, nobody actually wants or cares for Horde and Alliance as a separate faction this has been done to death, let alone basing the story around it.    … Expand

    Garbage. I hated it so much. Lore was bad. Game design went backwards. How did Undercity fall so easily? It was a bad storytelling.

    This game sucks, you die 50 times before ever reaching level 20, its too difficult, pvp is unbalanced, terrible combat, mechanics, everything is so bad about World of Warcraft it should stop existing from earth.     $95 for a load of steaming crap. I had to level a race I DID NOT want to play, so I could unlock the races I DID want to play. Chock full of sound, video, and questing bugs. "Fast" traveling is a time consuming, google consulting joke - unless you have all the worlds, portals, zeppelins and flight paths memorized. Weekly server down status.     This is pretty much the worst expansion of wow and that is saying something considering how bad Draenor and Shadowlands are...

    It's also the expansion where the devs finally completely destroyed the Alliance as a playable faction.     It's also the expansion where the devs finally completely destroyed the Alliance as a playable faction. It started with blood elves in bc of course, continued with various acts like the destruction of several Alliance zones, racials and other disadvantages in favor of the Horde and well, the final nail on the coffin are better looking night elves/nightborne with a huge zone and city and more customisation options for the Horde, better looking troll based on the night elf model, aswell as the only cute race in this game in form of Vulpera/fox race.
    In return the Alliance became... no new race like Vulpera but instead disabled gnomes, blue discount elves with tentacle hair and almost no customisation options and awful hair styles and overweight humans. Just wow... plus the only elves city of the Alliance completely destroyed, 2 other zones/warfronts destroyed while the Horde... lost literally nothing.

    So yeah, the Alliance is unplayable thanks to the devs.

    The faction systems was always toxic, racist and unbalanced af, but the devs managed to make it even worse.

    Horrible game in general though.    … Expand

    Same problems as Legion. Lack of content and most of the content is abysmal. Terrible systems and grinds. Needless reworking of classes that makes them less fun to play. Music is still bad. Only good thing I have to say is that it looks aesthetically okay, and the boss fights are decent.

    God awful game. I don't get how people like this game. The raids and gameplay are so dull. The graphics look like its still from 1999-2001ish. It should've gotten at least a small upgrade by now.
    I've tried it probably 4 times for a month on and off since 2018. Final Fantasy XIV is superior in everyday.. And unlike blizzard. Square enix isn't known to s3xually harassing their employees.    God awful game. I don't get how people like this game. The raids and gameplay are so dull.     Every time you see ANY game (Not clownzzard specific) that has very high "Critic" rating, and very, very low user rating it usually means the "Critics" were paid to do that, the user score represents the people that actually play the game and the "Critics" score represent the people that were paid to play the game for few hours.

    Extremelly uninspired expansion, everything feels like a meta roulette to get trinket/mount/gear. *Everything* is instanced and the illusion of open world is really gone. Everywhere you go is an instance and the train rails are so obvious, it really makes you think why even bother.

    I play casually and laid back, and the content was very lean compared to Legion 7.0. The new patches had very little to offer, I completed the new patch content in less than a week and it introduced new problems to the game, like annoying lag in open world and world quest glitches which I encountered few times now and could not complete them.

    A real shame, the whole expansion (4 months later!) still feel extremelly rushed and there is no soul in anything. The devs have lost all the passion and the only thing that is making this game float relevant is love for old Warcraft and art/sound team. ( Good job those guys!)    … Expand

    You can still play, but there is no alignment anymore and the whole game moves to the farm of armor in other content (not random bg) waste of time - it does not bring pleasure in the process of the 2nd of the worst additions in my memory.

There was exactly one new race and even that was more or less a reskin. I usually die to quest mobs in this expansion. Mobs are always the same level as the player, so you can't grind up and defeat them. Why do they send players to Kul Tiras/Zandalar who just completed starting zones? I wouldWoW is an awesome game, but this expansion for it is awful. Most zones and their storylines are dull. Also, maybe I'm a noob, but Frost Mage is so weak and unbalanced. I usually die to quest mobs in this expansion. Mobs are always the same level as the player, so you can't grind up and defeat them. I would recommend to level in Eastern Kingdoms/Kalimdor and when creating a new character choose another expansion for leveling… Expand

    The new areas are beautifully designed and the game presents a nice challenging pace, Warfronts (a new addition to the end game) looks promising, with the downtime that the factions have to wait till joining it going to be solved once more Warfronts are unlocked through the story (and patches).

Also the content is very boring for me - as I am 100% PvE player. For PvPers this may be cool? New races are very.. confusing? Why not just 1 actually new race?… Expand

PvE-equipment dominates PvP since they got rid of PvP stats, everything in the game is all about doing as many daily/weekly activities to get slightly better every day.     The new level scaling basically broke the game and all balance that was left. Dungeons are either trivial or incredibly hard, due to the lack of quality assurance.

    It looks like the new expansion, Shadowlands, won't fix any of these things, so I guess this is the end of the world... of warcraft.    … Expand

I am a hardcore world of warcraft player that has a max capacity of 50 characters and i've played this game for 10 years. I am a hardcore world of warcraft player that has a max capacity of 50 characters and i've played this game for 10 years. I can tell you coming from both a new player experience, aka making a new character and play throughout the new expansion, this is the most consumer unfriendly expansion I've witnessed in all my years of playing world of warcaft. Okay enough complaining lets talk about the expansion, so the whole expansion is just a big ol' mess of RNG, every single thing that can possibly make your character more powerful and fun to play is completely locked behind an RNG system, basically a random chance on every single piece of armor you obtain, the only armor pieces guaranteed to have the stats and azerite traits you want, aka the BIS meaning best in slot, are all dropped from raid bosses and the funny part is you can only do this once a week, one chance a week. Same with the weekly chest once a week you get a chance to get your best item, this is horribly frustrating and just a bad experience for new players, it is just the common bait and hook strategy to make players addicted to playing the game week after week. If you want the absolute BEST gear in the game you do what's called mythic raids, the hardest content in the game, mythic raids are locked to ONE lockout per week, aka you only have one chance per week, and that one chance is a literal once chance so if enter the mythic raid with that one group you must complete it with that one group, if you fail to do so then you just lost your chance for the game, so it basically looks like blizzard hates raiders. This has been the worst expansion I've experienced in wow history and I even quit the game because of it. The real sad part is that it looks like they are doing the same exact thing with the upcoming expansion, shadowlands which will lock your character behind one covenant, the base mechanic behind the entire expansion players are going mad about this feature as it locks content for characters that just makes the expansion completely unfriendly for even new players, now before I finish this review I want to ask you a question, What happened to you blizzard?… Expand

The Azerite armor was broken from the start, was hard to figure out, the UI was a mess, and it only got worse the deeper into the expansion it got.     I have been playing WoW and off since the start, no expansion has ever been as terrible as this one. Even WoD was better and it was half finished! Massive drop in quality from Legion I am very disappointed.

    The only good features left in the game from Legion is the grind. The progression system and story is a mess. The only heartfelt part of this expansion are the cinematics. Not even the awesomeness of Bwonsamdi can save "Battle for Azurite!"

On the other hand all the content has gotten much easier. Heroics Dungeons and Normal Raids are facerolls with some of the early Mythic Dungeons also being fairly simple, barley harder than there Herioc conterparts. The mythic system is like fractals from GW2 but much worse, with gaining higher teir's felling more like a chore than fun making another grind on this amazingly large borefest that Blizzard calls a game. The Warfronts system was extremely underwhelming. The raids were generally fun though, Though some of them are pretty easy although its hard to get these wrong, they are generally Blizzards proudest work so there is a pretty high bar already. This is the thing that kept me as a sub for a while longer than I otherwise would have been the raids were fun endgame group content. But that was all that was keeping me around. I cant sat that this was worse than Legion, still a slight improvement. It sucks because the concept was very good and excited me a lot, but I have hope that Blizzard might be turning the game around, and I hope thats the case. This has been my favorite game to play for many years, it sucks seeing it go to sh*t. Thats all I really have to say… Expand

I accepted the request, but after sending multiple tickets (Over a month now) I've received no rewards or an explanation. It also seems that it's a whole new game itself. You need Alienware and atleast a TB ofI first played the game when Lich King was the latest expansion and loved it. 10/10 back then. Its so **** that there a constant maximal 5 people in stormwind on my server... You gotta fire all of the Game-designers from BfA, every other MMORPG is better then Battle for Azeroth...

Blizzard just does not care anymore. they need to hand the game to someone who cares or gets off their butts and actually do some good for the game. The difference between sports and esports is that everyone have the same advantages and tools for esports, which is nice, but isnt the case for these clowns. The rush to release garbage has never been so strong with this company. I remember how I used to call them Blizzard. Now, they are but a shadow of a glorious past. You would think they will learn. But they don't. They are the elder child that we had so much hope for that turned out to be a dissapointement and no one wants to talk about him.

    Customer support is garbage as well. Automated messages instead of GM talking to you to resolve issues, you get the ban hammer for reasons you have no idea and they wont give you reason. Just the ban.

    I used to love this game(and company), no matter the stupid **** they came up with, but now it just feels like we're being laugh at and told what we should like and what we shouldn't. If any other gaming company that would step up and give what Blizzard(f*uck you Activision) used to give us, if you are out there, make us a sign. We're waiting for you.    … Expand

Along with that, they've combined end game tiers into one. PvEP. Everything is broke and unbalanced terribly now because of it. There isn't class specific gear anymore. Its everything I hate about WoW. The lore doesn't matter anymore and BFA just feels like a **** rehash of Destiny and Diablo Mechanics, while throwing all the mechanics that made it original to the curb. The cherry on top is the repeat of the flying achievement, only for the most Dedicated players. Professions are broke and useless aswell, in turn makes the economy **** You used to have to get you're professions up from 1-750 ect, but its been changed to expac specific so you no longer need to have that leveled up to make the new expac recipes. This devalues the economy for new players leveling up for the first time as they no way to make money until they are max level. OH WAIT, you can just buy your max level. Everything they do is devalue the player and get as much money out of you as possible. These things aren't done by accident.    … Expand

    Worst expansion for PvP to date. As 10+ year PvP only player I am unable to gear for PvP via PvP. Forcing mythics, world quest, reps and artifact power grinds to be good in PvP. Differences between item levels so huge you have no chance to boost your rating with your 410 ilvl pvp gear cause everybody on 1400 rat already has 430 pve gear and 100k more HP(those differences are actualy worseWorst expansion for PvP to date. Can't rate PvE, I just dont play it, I will rather unsub than play PvE.
    Edit: I came back to try 8.3... I have no Idea how are they even doing this, but somehow they made PvP even more broken than before and I thought it's not even possible to do. Even bigger differences between ilvl and completly broken coruption gear in PvP means there is no place for any skill, everything is about gear and rng. This expansion is now like -3/10 from PvP only point of view    … Expand

    8.3 worst of the worst patches, there was nothing worse than corrupt !!! blizzard do not listen to players and kill the game, pvp is already dead, pve is a bit left to the finish

    I couldn't find any enjoyment playing this expansion. It probably is still not a terrible mmo looking at it objectively, but I have been playing wow since Wrath of the Lich King, and watching this game slowly devolve into its current version is almost heartbreaking. Gearing is almost completely RNG so they've removed the feeling of achievement when you find a piece of gear. Mythic + rewards are underwhelming, PVP rewards are underwhelming, raid rewards are fine, but just knowing that it needs to be titanforged or it's still not the best makes gear meh, even if it's the piece you were looking for. I have unsubscribed to wow now and probably will never come back. I can't recommend anyone playing this gave as it is now and judging from the trend, its not going to get better.… Expand

    - imagine Legion, just all the good points turned to ****
    - removed many iconic things that made WoW a good game
    - RNG RNG RNG RNG RNG, who cares about skill or dedication, RNG rules the game
    - grindfest without fun

    Storytelling is not bad in first months, cinematics and first months of BFA is so really good, but gameplay and patch 8.3 is worse than ever. Warlords of Draenor has better endgame. BLIZZ where my badges,where my pvp/pve VENDORS?? i love dungeons from old expansion, you drop badges and buy items, now you go to mythic and you drop what?!     I have pre purchased every single expansion since tbc, but bfa (and the other recent expansions) is the reason I will not explore Shadowlands.

    Had to unsub after the first week because there is nothing to do besides log in once a week random rolls like a pay to win phone app. It's clear they're just trying to milk money out of people by forcing them to stay subscribed to get better items instead of actually providing content where skill can make you better. Absolutely disgusting.     Latest update seals the coffin for this worst then WoD xpack! Ian, come on man, I expect BETTER than this!!!!!!! This hot steamy pile of poop is a disgrace to the WoW franchise. Classes are gutted. No more class fantasy like in Legion! Raids are predictable. etc etc... could go on.

Разработчик решил сделать копипаст легиона, но забыл про классовую индивидуальность, контент стартового патча ещё можно было считать неплохим но по всей видимости компания решила сэкономить на производстве что привело к отсутствию классовых комплектов экипировки (трансмог), вменяемой системы наград и САМОЕСравнивая с последними дополнениями, это заслуженно можно считать худшим. Разработчик решил сделать копипаст легиона, но забыл про классовую индивидуальность, контент стартового патча ещё можно было считать неплохим но по всей видимости компания решила сэкономить на производстве что привело к отсутствию классовых комплектов экипировки (трансмог), вменяемой системы наград и САМОЕ наболевшее: к отсутствию новых анимаций у всего что имеет скелет, ибо всё новое это хорошо забытое старое со слегка обновлённой моделькой, таким образом каждый новый патч мы видим"новых" НПС взятых из последних рейдов… Expand

    It's been more than a year and I'm still really bitter about spending the money on this. I was even stupid enough to buy another month of subscription to check the game out again, and I'm yet again bitterly disappointed.

    Such a horrible expansion. Legion was trash too but BfA is on a whole other level, it's just so bad.

    With the time-gating system you can play only as many as they allow you to play, nothing more else you won't get any meaningful reward for it.

    Battle for Azeroth offers everything you could expect from a World of Warcraft expansion, but its scale is visibly smaller than Legion’s and there’s no truly new quality here. All that doesn’t change the fact that the charm of this extraordinary MMORPG appeals to me almost as strongly as 13 years ago. [10/2018, p.42]

    Blizzard plays it safe, incorporating few innovations while trying to salvage the lore situation of Warcraft due to its constant escalation. Despite all this, BfA remains an entertaining expansion with a lot to offer in endgame for a casual player.
