Wanted is the definition of average. Fans of both adventure games and westerns may want to look into it, but I'd advise all others to steer clear.
-
Computer Games MagazineIt's impossible to dislike, despite its flaws. [Jan 2005, p.63]
-
netjakIt had the story, humor and graphics worthy of a Monkey Island sequel. Unfortunately, the game included several tedious and repetitive tasks, as well as a very frustrating arcade sequence, all of which managed to destroy the joy of playing and negated all good that the game offered.
-
Suffers from some major problems--juvenile writing, a lame ending, a clunky camera and interface, some ill-conceived puzzles and action sequences, and major bugs, among other things. Still, fans of old-school adventures who can put up with a lot of problems should find the game reasonably entertaining.
-
The oversights involved in not allowing cut-scenes and dialogues to be skipped and allowing many bugs to slip through take this game down a few notches.
-
The U.S. version uses some over-the-top acting that borders on being agitating.
-
The graphics, characters, cinematics and other high points are unfortunately pulled down by an over-reliance on busy work gameplay and a shortage of fun challenges. The end result is a great game that might have been.
-
PC GamerIt's just another in the crowd of well-meaning but ultimately pointless games that offer more tedium than entertainment. [Jan 2005, p.83]

Just AdventureCould have been a really good gameone of the best of the yeardespite some of its flaws. But the twitch requirements and the insult sword errrr sarsaparilla duels, combined to cast a deathly pallor over the entire experience.
-
The only reason you'd buy Wanted is in a (possibly misguided) attempt to support The Adventure Company with your game-buying dollars. Which is fine, of course, but if any TAC game is skippable, this is definitely the one.
-
Unfortunately, desktop crashes, the need for money and carrots, some annoying sound effects, and a few frustrating puzzles mar what could have been one of the better adventure games to come out in years.
