  1. Virtua Tennis hasn't changed much since 1999 and is still the leader of its genre. Whoever likes arcade sports games should consider getting this game.
  2. They took a long time for the development of Virtua Tennis 2009. Why? There’s actually nothing new around.
  3. Two friends, two game pads and Virtua Tennis 2009 and you'll have ten minutes of maximum multi-player fun. But the career mode is boring, because it’s too easy for far too long and the game suffers from a sloppy conversion. It's a great multi-player game, but could have been much more.

There aint no one-more-go mentality lurking in this one. [Oct 2009, p.99]

It's best for occasional two-player knockabouts...but anyone wanting serious solo action or a lasting challenge will be disappointed. [Sept 2009, p.89]

Put modest tendency to realism together with some new mini-games and you get a shiny new game. Or don’t you? New tennis sim is slightly above average – but only for those with quite powerful hardware. [July 2009]
  7. Truly, Virtua Tennis 2009 is little more than a lazily rehashed and less than polished iteration of what was offered in Virtua Tennis 3.

A disappointing and flat experience that's only really any fun when played with a friend, who may make an occasional error. [Nov 2009, p.75]

Internet connection not needed. We have 4 xbox360 wireless controllers that work well with our Vista64 bit PC. I play with my wife and 2 children. We love this game. The graphics and sound effects are superb. I turn off the music though, as it is repetitive. For local multiplayer gaming, you can't go past this one! Full Review »

As someone who plays tennis 3+ times a week, I find it refreshing to be able to concentrate on strategy, and not on whether my knees are going to hold up! The blend of arcade feel + simulation control is near-perfect. I'd like to have some control over how my player is facing, and perhaps have some customization options on how the players actually execute certain shots, but that seems to be out of scope of games of this nature. De lo peor que he visto.
