    Great game for a family to play on a local PC. Internet connection not needed. We have 4 xbox360 wireless controllers that work well with our Vista64 bit PC. I play with my wife and 2 children. We love this game. The graphics and sound effects are superb. I turn off the music though, as it is repetitive. For local multiplayer gaming, you can't go past this one!

    Coming from my favorite tennis game ever, Mario Tennis on the N64 (don't laugh...underneath the cute graphics is a game with incredible depth), I actually found Virtua Tennis 2009 extremely enjoyable as a multi-player game. As someone who plays tennis 3+ times a week, I find it refreshing to be able to concentrate on strategy, and not on whether my knees are going to hold up! The Coming from my favorite tennis game ever, Mario Tennis on the N64 (don't laugh...underneath the cute graphics is a game with incredible depth), I actually found Virtua Tennis 2009 extremely enjoyable as a multi-player game. As someone who plays tennis 3+ times a week, I find it refreshing to be able to concentrate on strategy, and not on whether my knees are going to hold up! The blend of arcade feel + simulation control is near-perfect. I'd like to have some control over how my player is facing, and perhaps have some customization options on how the players actually execute certain shots, but that seems to be out of scope of games of this nature.… Expand

    Very well, I don't know what's new in this game. The gameplay is exactly the same, the career is very boring, and the games aren't so funny like in the third. After all i will play the third, because i like it more.

    Incredible boring. Single player is a joke. I miss the old arcade style.

    Virtua Tennis is still the ultimate "arcade" tennis game with the 2009 edition, being very easy to jump into and play. But it's really no major improvement over version 3, except for maybe a bit better realism and ball control in gameplay - however, a dropshot never really seems like one; it's 99% impossible for you to hit the ball out; it's 99.8% impossible for the AI to Virtua Tennis is still the ultimate "arcade" tennis game with the 2009 edition, being very easy to jump into and play. Unless it gets more realistic as you approach the top 10 in pro mode??). The graphics are nice but not much improved over ver 3 in my opinion, e.g. the character models are just damn ugly and have completely lifeless faces (save the mouth but even they are usually black inside!), have unmoving eyes that look like a hypnotized robot, pretty much unrealistic skin tones/texture, and simply the ugliest man-hands ever on the female characters (luckily the trophy cutscenes are skippable). Not exactly the next-gen title I was hoping for; I still find Top Spin 2 from 2006 to be the king of PC tennis games, even with its flaws. Major flaw in this day and age: No online mode!!! And when is any tennis game going to finally implement the challenge system?! That would be so cool! But anyway, since I am a big tennis fan, Virtua Tennis is still fun which keeps it above average for me.… Expand

    its good game. i cant understand, why your scores are very low. you lost all of matches right :) respect to labor guys

    Este juego es una basura: Mala jugabilidad, no se pueden sacar las repeticiones, un refrito del Virtua Tennis 3, la bola es más grande que la cabeza de los jugadores, los sonidos son pésimos, modo carrera etereno y aburrido.
    De lo peor que he visto.

    Es un gran juego,me encanto sus graficas y movilidad aunque su critica de usuarios no sea buena.es uno de mis juegos preferidos yo lo recomiendo para que lo juegen

    Virtua Tennis hasn't changed much since 1999 and is still the leader of its genre. Whoever likes arcade sports games should consider getting this game.

    Put modest tendency to realism together with some new mini-games and you get a shiny new game. Or don’t you? New tennis sim is slightly above average – but only for those with quite powerful hardware. [July 2009]
