The only reason i put 3 on this other fantastic game is because a 2 hour game tops shouldn't cost 20 euros.

In a nutshell, great awesome interesting story, great characters, game starts great, midgame is nowhere and the end comes abrupt. If you find it for 5 euros at some discount sale grab it,or if you are rich, Otherwise its 20 euros for 2 hours of game tops. Had the game not ended so

Had the game not ended so abruptly and if it was 4-5 hours it would be a solid ten.

A good looking visual novel plagued with bugs. It has no replay-ability as all choices lead to the same abrupt and unsatisfying conclusion suddenly at just over three hours feeling deliberate on the side of the developers to avoid Steam's refund policy.

Does not have multiple endings. Doesn't even have an actual ending, just a crappy cliffhanger that goes as far as deleting your save after credits roll. So, no continuity with any of the choices made in this game on any future sequels. Not that the choices in game have any real affect on the linear plot. All you get is variance in flavor text and absolute adherence to the linear storyDoes not have multiple endings. This is not a game, nor is it a visual novel.
This is a book with graphics.
Maybe one day, Vampire The Masquerade will get an actual RPG game made, like D&D's Baldur's Gate & Pathfinder's Kingmaker.

A buggy and bad written videogame. Mechanics are poorly implemented and the setting very bad represented.

I brought this "game" believing it was a true Vampire the Masquerade game with at least some voice acting and some player choice and action. Its not. Its a bunch of text and no action but just some visual junk and long painted scenes with boring endless dialogue. The TRAILERS were more exciting than this "game" that is really just a damn motion comic!

    Can't refund it because I

Can't refund it because I downloaded and I'm stuck with a sorry ass wannabe Vampire the Masquerade Book/Game!

Am, in one word it is "lame". Not bad ff story, but disgusting interface, poor variety, irritating lighting, poor amount of arts, no voice acting and unbalanced portion of given lore info. It is kinda like just novel, that tries to have something common with game, made quite bad. T'would be much better, if it was a book/comic

While clearly not as impressive in gaming terms as the Bloodlines series, Coteries of New York is a welcome addition to the digital world of The Masquerade. Offering up an immersive and atmospheric take on the politics and personalities of the undead Big Apple, it seduces with it’s quality of writing and characterisation, proving to be more than a mere snack to tide the Hunger over until the main course of Bloodlines 2. If you have any taste for the Gothic you should give yourself over to the vampiric delights of Coteries.

A well-written interactive visual novel aimed primarily at the newcomers to the world of the Masquerade. The progress is, however, a bit too linear and you can’t really change the outcome of the story.

Exploring and appreciating a visual novel with writing as good as this one shouldn’t be tiresome. With luck, future patches and updates will address these minor concerns because Coteries of New York is something well worth sinking one’s fangs into.
