    Characters - From their names to their designs simple and targeted at kids. Sage heals, Brimstone has molatov and nuke, cypher is a tech guy etc.

    Sounds - Stereo. In a game that prides itself being called Tactical shooter, you can't differentiate enemy positions at 45% front right or 45% back right. Overall - It's a low system requirement Free to play game aimed at kids. The quality is so bad that charging 10$ upfront would have been overpricing because even games costing that much offer so much more.

    Cherry on top - Game's cosmetics are insanely overpriced and shop is some of the most frustrating ones you will ever see. They charge 56US$ for autofill blue guns and there's only 5 of them in the bundle. They making every possible effort to do the minimum work possible and actively **** on their community. Just read series called 'Ask Valorant' they post on their website. Everything is either "Not a problem" or "is working as intended". What pros want or what players want doesn't matter.

    This game is on a ticking timer. With their system of adding a character every 2 months, it will soon become an unbalancable mess like Overwatch and will fail even more miserably than that. Will it still have ****load of players? Absolutely. It works on potato, it's free and their target audience hasn't played anything better.    … Expand

    It was entertaining for a short period of time mostly because we had a full squad. I very quickly lost interest in the game as I found it pretty lackluster and very copy pasta csgo. Currently we only have 4 maps and though they intend to introduce more over time it's really repetitive at the moment. Like spend 80 bucks on a skin pack only to have to buy the vfx seperate... Don't even get me started on vanguard and how it prevents .sys drivers from loading at startup.     **** game needs to fix the comp system losing more then you win needs to also get a grip on the smurfs and pull there balls out. valorent ranking system should have a bigger discouragement on leaving games once leave should delete that account in a comp game

    Incredibly bad game. The stability is horrible and the game keeps encountering errors. Since the latest update many people keep getting a 150 ping even tho it was 34 before. All in all very bad game

    At least cs offers u decent teammates but valorant devs just want to watch the world burn by giving u super bad teammates. 3 words: counter-strike rip off

    I play this game, way too much, but there are many unique issues that this game has that all come down to atrocious programming and unusable net code. I cannot overstate just how bad it can be. Speaking from experience, I have never had a feeling of any sort of constancy in Valorant, to the point where I question if every individual match even takes place on the same underlying code, or if they have some sort of evolving and devolving monster that they cannot control that is making random decisions on the fly. One match it will appear as though none of my shots are capable of missing, others will seem quite fair. Others, some players will seemingly have the magical ability to see me before I even peek. Other matches, it will seem that no matter how well I aim, coming from games where I top frag 20+ kills, every bullet either misses the mark completely or somehow downgrades from head to body, or body to feet.
    This lack of consistency is the sole reason I do not even bother touching the competitive part of the game, as I know for a fact that I will never be able to enjoy myself, as there is no feeling of "getting better" its a cycle of do extremely well, feel like I am better, then getting 1-3 kills and 20+ deaths in a 13 rounder the very next game.
    It is obvious to see just how inconsistent this is, even though Riot (and many players who seem to just not face these issues) continually claim that the problems either do not exist, or are not bad enough to need fixing. The clearest way I notice the problem is due to my surrender to completion rate for games. 70%+ of my games that are unrated (meaning not spike rush or another shortened mode) end in a surrender, due to my team simply being unable to even touch my opponents team with a bullet.

    If this was merely a lack of skill thing, I would have no issue, but I know that is not the case. As I said at the start of my review, I play this game way too much. So much, that I would expect to at least be decent at aiming for heads by this point, but my experience in game either reflects that too heavily, or does not at all. I have seen the same from friends, content creators, and others, who go through the same cycle (get favorable netcode and win, then get the opposite and lose).

    It almost never feels like a loss in this game is my fault. Other games similar, such as CS:GO, are equally as difficult if not harder at times; however, the difficulty I feel in that game is consistent. I do not go one match of CS and become a headshot master, and the next a bumbling loser with no aim. I get consistent numbers of kills, do consistent damage, and my headshots connect when I myself feel like I did hit (or vice versa).

    I cannot recommend Valorant, unless the netcode is fixed, among the other many issues I did not discuss. Riot can claim there either is no problem, or that they have fixed it as many times as they want; however, until I see evidence of it, I will never recommend it. Will I personally keep playing? Probably. Should you? Absolutely not.    … Expand

I had 4k~ and then I completely lost connection. It was a ranked game, but I unfortunately quitted. They banned me for 7 WHOLE DAYS because of my network dropping and making me leave the game.     After spending over 600 hours in CSGO and 1000+ hours in Overwatch, I can wholeheartedly recommend this title. Riot games has done an outstanding job by adding the competitive aspect of CSGO with the utility abilities from Overwatch and other similar games. 10/10

As for the game itself it borrows aspects from both Counter Strike and Overwatch but the problem is it doesn't much of either well. If you want to play a hero shooter, Overwatch is superior and if you want to play a more hardcore tacticalI guess it's alright. I played it solo a bit but the real fun was with friends. While I am not a fan of the visual style, Riot does offer clean and precise controls for shooting but if you are looking for something more substantial and rewarding their are better options for both casual and hardcore shooters alike. The anticheat was a hot topic issue that I won't get into but at the end of the day seeing people cheating is somewhat common.

    Valorant tries to blend the skills and visuals of a more casual hero shooter with the competitiveness and precision of hard core shooters and doesn't really do any aspect of either more than "just okay". It might be the prefect game for some but for many others including myself it doesn't satisfy. It's a wide but shallow pool.    … Expand

    Its an incredibly polished and fun fps that feels really close to being esports ready but needs a bunch of tweaks (like most esports games do, csgo was absolute trash on release).
    the guns feel satisfying and fun to use, I feel the movement is good but just needs a little bit of tweaking (although that might be counter strike muscle memory talking). The maps are good but need a little bit of tuning, and so do the agents. The net code is pretty great though there is a massive case of peaker's agvantage though given how active the devs seem to be I belive all of these things will be ironed out reletively soon.

    At the absolute lowest you could give this game a 5 or 6 but anything lower than that is disingenuous. Although if it's because of the kernel level anti-cheat then honestly you should give almost every game imaginable a 0 because very very very few games are free and open source and therefore proprietary games are just as evil I would argue.

    I'm going to give this a 7 because at time of writing there is no competitive mode and my friends have had issues getting the game to start for some reason though . These things are being worked on so Ive put my rating up to reflect what this game would be if those minor things are fixed    … Expand

    It's just lazy knock-off of Overwatch and CSGO but worse. Sound is lackluster, graphic is not from 2020, gameplay is just the worst. If it came from game company other than RIOT, this game wouldn't have been this popular. I'm guessing this game will die in about few months.

    Definitely the most boring game of 2020. Who wanted a mix between Counter-Strike and Overwatch??!! The movement is so clunky and the maps are atrocious. Don't waste your time on this garbage.....

What i mind is that when playing feels like it is a very bad cs mod made from some fans instead of a big game company.     A general lack of innovation. I kind of had a fun time, but I cannot truly support the lack of creativity on display. The worst aspects of the games Valorant ripped off are more pronounced here. Such as: An over-reliance on having competent teammates and simplistic precision shooter gameplay.

    Just average CS copycat game with poor graphics, but it doesn't worth to invest any time to play regularly. And Riot Games, please, fix Vanguard. If Vanguard was ok, I would give it 5 or 6.

    I have spent hundreds of ours in CS:GO, Overwatch, Rainbow Six Siege. This was a horrible experience for me so far. The game isn't unique in anyway. The gameplay feels cluncky and beta like. There is zero charm in the characters. And don't get me on the skin prices...

    This is unfair that some of you put 0. Guys, its a good FPS with its own pros and cons. But the speed how fast they managed to make game playable is impressive. All you CSGO and Overwatch fans now have a competitor who`s community will only grow!

Also granting you high rewards of EXP for completing challenges, levelling up and general performance. The game also has a very satisfying art style, going for a digital comic book vibe. This general style is across everything, from maps, to abilities, weapons and characters. General UI elements are well thought out and aesthetically pleasing. Along with some unique features like the footstep radius indicator on the mini map. All current 11 playable characters offer diverse personas with different looks and nationalities, with a good round of unique abilities. Offering many different play styles to the player. Valorant’s server connectivity is also exactly what they’d promised. 128 Tick rate servers and while playing on launch day and the day after I experienced no issues with my games connected to the Europe servers. Despite of the emergency maintenance on launch, I never encountered one issue before or after it had finished. As far as general playability goes, Valorant only offers two game modes at this time. Which is quite a let down as of now. The ‘Unrated’ game mode can get tedious if you’re having bad luck. And the ‘Spike Rush’ game mode is almost too short, and takes away some of the core components of the games gameplay, rendering it less enjoyable to the main mode in my opinion. But, as the game is in its so-called Episode 1, I can see more modes coming in the future. But for now, Valorant is great fun to play with friends and the game is very well developed. It just needs a little more time in the cooker...… Expand

Secondly, I am not surprised by such a toxic community, a game from Riot, if you want to play alone, I advise you against, because you will be called from newbies and rookies to **** degenerates who doesn't even know what's going on...

    There are also some bad things which are the reason for such a low score:
    Abysmal matchmaking, confusing and dull menu UI, limited configuration options for both video and keybinding.

    Matchmaking in the EU region right now and I'd say the game's borderline unplayable, every game there are 4 people with no microphones because they're Russian and Riot games will not allow them to communicate in any way. This makes the game a dull and lifeless experience and extremely stressful. There's also still issues surrounding players getting put into stacked games with one team on a 5 stack, a 4 stack and you. You'll face silence again because they're all in discord or party chat. Not a fun experience.

    The menu is straight up dull and it feels like you're looking at a block of text. It's laid out poorly which doesn't help when:
    The config options for video and keybinds are poor, they're limited, keybinds are on a separate page from other control options, minimap size options are on a separate page from crosshair etc. It's a straight up mess.
    Add in the change from beta to launch on Omen and the game is in desperate need of per agent binds and settings. They're simply not fit for people with accessibility issues.

    Overall the game just isn't fit for purpose on EU. It's a team game, even the welcome screen to the game shows a focus on teamwork but it's absent while you can have 4 people in a game that cannot communicate. It goes against the spirit of the game and you shouldn't have to abandon matches or sit through games like that. It just isn't an enjoyable experience.
    The alternative is to play on North American servers if you can, you'll take the PING hit, you'll lose every duel where someone peeks or you have to peek and you'll probably face some abuse for it while you communicate.

    That shouldn't have to be the way the game is played. In EU, this game just isn't right at the moment.    … Expand

    I'm giving it a 10 since people in the reviews are being unreasonable.

    I already like it more than CS because I can queue on high mmr matchmaking and not catch a spinning bayblade that headshots me thru 3 walls.

    Great game, cant even go back to previous games where it now feels something is missing. Will play Valorant for a long long time. Easy improvements would be a ranked system similair to league of legends.

    Valorant, rips off CS:GO's base mechanics and just copy and paste's a lot from CS:GO and offers little to no new content at all. The game may be fun for some, but I guess it's just not for me.

    My biggest issue with CS:GO and Valorant is the pacing- incredibly slow, tedious, unfun, and there just isn't anything to get so excited around. I really cannot see how people view this as a competitive game, when there are many better games which require so many more fast-paced movements and actions. I don't want to hold shift to walk quietly all the time- i want to 1v6 2 teams, with incredible movement which gets my heart rate going.

    Having loved the abilities and how fun they are in both OW and Apex, the abilities in Valorant are utterly uncreative and lazily thought of, some inspired from OW or even, surprisingly Apex which I don't mind, but again- nothing fresh.

    The movement is also horrible, Source engine had really good movement which is why Bunny hopping was excellent in Cs, and Apex which also uses the same, yet modified engine. RDR2 which has arguably the worst movement in any game to save realism has better movement than Valorant's.

    Don't even get me started on the graphics... the art directions, it's so awful, I've seen better character design in Raid: Shadow Legends and many more mobile games than this. If you even dare to defend it with: "Valorant is a competitive game" then clearly you're blind. It's not that Valorant needs to look overly complicated but PLEASING to look at. WOW! Generic female #151 here with a couple of floating knives.

    Worst of all, is Vanguard is actual trash. Not only does it breach your security, and has full kernel access (which also is owned by tencent- potential security issues) it doesn't even do a good job AT ALL. Literally the massive controversy with Apex cheaters right now is much better than this anarchial game. I got a game with cheaters 3X IN A ROW.

    What I really expected was a fine, and tuned game but this was a great disappointment. What really is the issue here is not that Valorant is bad- but SKY-HIGH WAY too overhyped.

    I will stick to Apex's BRILLIANT movement system, and Warzone's tactical gameplay.    … Expand

Feels so slow to play , game goes like hold angles, use ability , then first one to see outside of the visual clutter of the abilities usually wins . its an ok game if u want to practice your steady aim as movement makes aim worse , game feels pretty sluggish , with overpriced skins and no redeemable battle pass . i say its avg maybe better for dieits an ok game ,csgo overwatch clone .     Ignore these salty CSGO players, they can’t aim and cheat so they are taking their rage out in these scores. It’s a fun f2p game that is a great mix between the gunplay of CS and the abilities of OW. Every patch makes the game better and the devs really listen to the player base.

    I played CS since 1.6, this is the closest thing to that 1.6 feeling I have ever played.

    Takes the good parts of CS:GO and builds upon them, cannot wait to see where this game goes.

    The gameplay is so boring and repetitive and the game is completely single core bound pretty much the worst online game. To be fair I did play games that had some flaws but at least the characters where cool and attractive so it was worth playing but Valorant is filled with flaws and has the most boring and bland characters you can find in a game.

    Worthless combination of previous games and very low graphic quality I understand low quality can have more player with low performance machine but, the quality and motion is horrible.
    Basic balance and map design are also poor. Please save your time and space of SSD.

I wanted to love it so badly, I wanted it to be my next addiction, the next big game that I play, but it launches, no one talks about it, it doesn't top the Twitch charts, it doesn't trend on Twitter, even the VALORANT twitter account gets 2.7K likes on the announcement tweet that servers are live. How did the game have more hype during the beta during actual launch? I think that's the problem, it came out too early, the beta ended, and 5 days later, the game is out? It just felt like an extended beta downtime, but no! This is it! This is the full launch! Here is your game! No ranked mode either. I assumed the beta was a work in progress, with the low-quality animations and textures. I completely understand that the point is not to have fancy detailed graphics or maps, and prioritize gameplay. However this is not good. Let's look at Overwatch, the playerbase is dwindling, but you want to know what keeps the game alive and relevant? THE CHARACTERS! Even though I don't play the game anymore, I love the characters, I check out the new ones, the lore is engaging, and having a diverse cast is always nice, people may not care for the game, but artists still draw the characters, and people still recognize them. This is why I feel they at least should have made a more memorable set of characters. They did follow Overwatch's steps of having diverse characters from around the world, which is awesome and always welcome! We love and support everyone here and diversity is always a plus for me. They even tried to do animated cinematics, like Overwatch, but so far, they don't seem to have landed. We don't know the story yet, even if there is one. I hope they do something more, because the character designs are kind of bland right now, the muscular guy who builds things, the poison lady, the one who loves music, the one with fire, the soft healer. If you are going to have unique characters, go all the way; because the characters can certainly go a long way. Let's briefly go back to the animations, this has got to be a joke, how have we gone backwards in ragdoll death physics? Even the death from falling is embarrassing, it's so clunky and weird, and the animations of your teammates in third person? Super polished, again, I thought these were placeholder animations for the beta, but here we are. The textures are bland and boring, I get it is to not get in the way by being too flashy, but this seems hollow, lifeless, and lacking personality; also then what is up with the weapon skins? There are no character skins, they want to mainly do weapon skins, why are they so bright and with unique animations if the whole point is to keep things simple, pros won't use things that might give them a disadvantage, although it's optional, but it is up to the player to decide if that justifies 70 dollars for a bundle. I asked my friends to play with me and they laughed at me. I think that Riot saw the excitement for the beta keys, and thought "Holy Moly! Everyone loves this! Let's just release it right now when the excitement is booming!!" However, once they released it to everyone, people played, got bored right away, and left. The launch is the most important part of a game and often times the time with the highest playercount, not always, but most of the time. So having a good first impression is key, or else people will play one game, and leave forever, never giving it another go, even if there is major updates later, because they will have made their decision. Now Riot has a lot of pressure, they must push updates soon, not just cosmetics. Look what happened to Apex Legends, they had so much hype, but they left the community waiting for months, even now the game is not fine, but they waited too long, people left, and already knew they wouldn't come back, even if the game was good now. Not to mention, this game launched on Blackout Tuesday, other games like COD MW/WARZONE literally delayed updates and new seasons because of the situation, so launching your game on a day where creators were not going to post or stream? It was costly. They keep advertising this is the next big esports, but it is very boring to watch.So overall, the way this game was handled seems to be very messy, from a rushed, broken launch, server crashes, wrongful bans, and overpriced skins, this is not looking good. I will still play, but there is not much to enjoy right now. I hope RIot Games and the VALORANT team good luck. I love you, I support you, and I want this game to succeed, and you had one really good shot at this, but it didn't land. Maybe try using aimbot next time… Expand

    This is an extremely fun game with a high skill ceiling. Unfortunately it looks like its getting review bombed right now by salty csgo fanboys, and overwatch/cod players who arent used to a slower style of gameplay.

    That isn't to say the game is perfect, I normally woulnd't give it a 10/10 (probably a 7 or 8), but so many people are giving it zeroes i figured id try and balance it out a little.

    This is the worst fps game for year 2020. It is just a copypaste from Overwatch and CSGO. In theory you can play this game, but it provides nothing. Graphics in this game is bad even for 2012. I played in this **** for 20 hours in beta, and in release nothing changed. Good luck.

    The graphics for instance    Probably the best competitive game of 2020. It's the long needed renew of tactical shooter games with modern features like hero characters instead of faceless soldiers. The character abilities add a lot of fun to the otherwise repetitve gameplay of older games that are alike. Everything in this game is optimized and finetuned to be sleek, fast and competitive.

    The graphics for instance are beautiful and a huge upgrade to older games, but simple enough to still allow 144fps on low-end machines. For example it does not feature ragdoll phyics for fairness and high framerates.

    The gunplay is fantastic and probably the best I've ever seen.

    The launch was the smoothest I've seen in ages. I could play the whole day without any issues but minor display bugs.

    It's a very polished game, and on launch already better than its direct competitors in most fields, except map count and the missing kill cam.

    The Vanguard Anticheat people are writing about is nothing new. Riot was just pretty transparent about it. It features a kernel driver anti cheat service that runs on startup. This is possible security hole and riot has a well paid bug bounty program to keep it secure. The thing is, that every other big competitive games also come with kernel drivers: Easy Anticheat (Fortnite, Apex Legends), Battleeye (PUBG), FaceIt (CSGO), Punkbuster (Battlefeld). Other companies just don't tell you about it and how it works. Also they don't give you the opportunity to switch it off.

    If you wonder about the bad reviews here: it's basically CS:GO players who try to troll defend CS:GO. Funningly enough at the time CS:GO came out, it was also stomped in to the ground by CS players alike.    … Expand

    Coming from overwatch and messing around with cs go I found this game to be very entertaining. I've learned so much about angles, timing, aiming correctly. This game is very unforgiving, maybe not as bad as escape from Tarkov but if you make mistakes you will die quickly. The first few hours I played I didn't think it was anything special but I was wrong. I just didn't understand how toComing from overwatch and messing around with cs go I found this game to be very entertaining. I've learned so much about angles, timing, aiming correctly. Game seems pretty good and all but this vanguard is really shady + it is really boring.

The people leaving negative reviews are CSGO diehards just sad to see RiotHonestly played a ton of CSGO and I can never go back.     Heroes- Some feel balanced like Phoenix and Brimstone with a solid role in a team, then others like Sage are blatantly overpowered and a must pick. There are so many abilities with so much going on that it detracts from the gunplay and tactical fps feel they are going for. Really puts me off to be killed by a flying rocket launcher and one of the main reasons I won't play much more of the game.

    Anti-Cheat- Laughably poor, actually probably worse than the maps. Can't do its job as there are hackers everywhere and the fact that it is kernel level just adds to the disappointment. If I am going to allow that much access from a program it needs to do its job well. Vanguard doesn't do it.

    Verdict- Underwhelming, I'm going back to CSGO and Rainbow Six    … Expand

    As said by a lot of players and professionals, the game is definitely not ready to be released yet but, nonetheless the game is still great fun and combines two great video game genres, a Tactile FPS and a Hero shooter.
    Would recommend to anyone who doesn't think it's a straight up clone of CS:GO.

The game is incredibly polished, has a good Anti Cheat which is constantly improving, maps are uncluttered, overall visuals are clean, the gunplay is much more reminiscent of CS 1.6 (punishes spray and praying while rewarding precision/trigger discipline), you can actually shoot through walls to punish campers/bad positioning, the devs have interacted with and listened to the community much more than the CSGO devs ever have and the different characters/abilities bring a whole world of depth that CSGO can never reach now, which makes Valorant the best competitive FPS at the moment in my book.

    CSGO released 8 years ago and was a complete joke on release day and remained a joke for a few years. The only reason it managed to stay alive was thanks to the life support of having the monopoly on this type of game and the skins craze. It's been 8 years since release and the devs are still figuring out how to properly balance the weapons, run and gunning is almost COD-like (hence the term ferrari peek), you can't wallbang anything and matchmaking servers are still 64 tick.

    Unless you're a fanboy, it should be clear that Valorant is at the top of the FPS game today and a spiritual successor to CS 1.6 in a way that GO never was or will ever be.    … Expand

There was a rumor in beta that all bans were to be wiped and that cheaters were to be given "another chance".     Cool game with lots of different heroes to suit your playstyle. Its fun mastering a agent and learning all the little tricks. Also playing with friends makes this a super strategic game!

    take time out to learn how to play the game first before you write a review on it I known its frustrating to get **** on by all these experienced players but writing an angry review on Metacritic isn't gonna help you out.

It should be a huge red flag that all the streamers they paid to hype up their game no longer give a **** about it and are now trash talking it.

Most of the time, abilities feel like they matter way more than actual gunplay, unlike csgo, abilities replace grenades and some heal the agent themselves, which can pretty much completely ruin a gunfight, where they can just hide and heal to full health. When I played it personally, the sounds you make are way too loud, like stomping while running, which makes no sense, considering that footsteps are supposed to be given attention, but it seems that since it's louder, they can hear it far more easily. Weapon scoping barely helps, and snipers are basically useless, there's almost no reason to use them unless you want a 1.2x zoom. or an innacurate sniper that doesn't work at any range but long. What's suspicious about the anti cheat is that when deleted, the taskbar is still there, not sure if it's just me. Having an root kit installed is pretty risky considering someone could just use the anti cheat to do their exploits. I know it's for removing cheaters, but the anti cheat has already been bypassed, like many others, buying a normal license for an anti cheat like battleye or easy anti cheat, would be better since well, they work well, while not hurting your reputation as a games company. I just find it hard to believe that they even NEED zero ring access. In conclusion, valorant seems like a bad game with so many issues with its abilities and gameplay, where some agents are far more preferred than the others based on abilities alone. Where skill only really matters for abilities, and where they need to be in the core of your computer to work.… Expand

    Valorant has a high-quality and clean release without any problems. The game will definitely please fans of the competitive FPS genre. The eSports potential of the shooter has only become established over time, and the first tournaments are already planned. However, a high entry threshold requires serious skill training. But this only makes the game more interesting.

    Overall, Valorant is a great game to play if you're a fan of first-person shooter strategy games. But it is also something that someone without experience with games like CS:GO can enjoy and pick up quickly. The Agents are, for the most part, balanced, and the planned addition of more should keep the game fresh. The overall style doesn't really land and the sound design needs to be fixed.
