It was a flawed and very average shooter right up till the end when the retarded developers decided to frustrate the player like hell with the most irritating, annoying and down right abysmal boss fight i've ever experienced in a video game. A simple thing as a sprint function would've helped the game big time since the dino enemies are moving very fast while youre literally crawling at granny speed without being able to run. And dont even try to defend it by saying thats how old shcool FPS works, ITS CLEARLY IS AND FEELS LIKE A PS3, X360 ERA CONSOLE FPS, just with a stupid developer not being able to implement a sprinting fuction. Enemy AI is also horribly balanced which have pin point accuracy no matter the situation. Lots and lots of cheap deaths also happen. Check point system is horrible. Big reliance on stupid QTEs and key mashing segments. Everything is overly scripted and game feels way too linear without giving player much freedom. One maybe good thing i can say that they got the dinos right, theyre animated really well and sound convincing aswell, their modeling is also very well done.

Story and characters could be aswell non existant since story is plain simply awful filled with every possible cliche and characters are so boring and uninpsired that it hurts, except Turok himself, he's kinda cool and feels like a proper bad ass. Also the environments and level design are dull and uninspired.

Horrible use of Turok IP and terribly wasted potential on cool premise that this game at first sem't to be.

Oh and yes PC port has issues aswell with textures on modeling turning pitch black and stuttering here and there, but atleast its 60 fps almost all the way through.

Here's hoping someone in future will do Turok game right.

I don't usually write bad reviews but I find it terrible. The plot and the story is unbearable. The ridiculous confrontations. The game is repetitive to rage due to the small variety of dinosaurs and weapons. Without a doubt the worst game in the Turok saga. Yes, graphically quite acceptable.

Killing dinosaurs sounds great. When you kill them with knife looks awesome 1st time and 2nd time, but 100. time too boring, scripted knife kills in third person view is sucks. The checkpoint system very bad, the AI is cheating, very hard to kill them. The graphics are not good. The game is linear.

This reboot at launch tried to change the main game's landscape and main plot elements, instead of making a game about intergalactic menace and other alien forms, Propaganda games opted to a more generic military shooter roots.
I have never played Turok before (the original/main games from the series) and the purpose of this reboot was approaching to a new audience... people like me that

I have never played Turok before (the original/main games from the series) and the purpose of this reboot was approaching to a new audience... people like me that never play a Turok game before and trying to fit it to the standards of the game industry in 2008, that was extremely influence on the success that Call of Duty generated in 2007.
Unfortunately for Propaganda Games and Disney Interactive this turned out to be a bad game that even a new comer into the series like me could even notice.
The games's plot is as generic as it could be, about chasing for some criminal and his guerrilla soldiers in a planet inhabited by dinosaurs and you carry with more soldiers.
Turok was build using the Unreal 3 Engine but... it look terrible... looks like it was build using the free version of the Unreal 3 which was called UDK (Unreal development Kit).
The level design is too unimaginative, the game has 3 settings, the jungle, caves and enemy bases. The jungle levels are nothing more that big rocks with some big trees and grass, they all look the same. The caves... well... just rocks and more rocks, and the enemy bases grey corridors with some computer screens on the walls.
The gameplay is generic and repetitive, shoot everything that moves, some quick time events, and regenerating health.
Dealing with enemies is a pain in the ass here and inconsistent, let's start with the dinosaur enemies, shooting at them will consume most of your ammo, stab them is more effectively that shoot them, which is weird, and beside that, dinosaurs will keep re spawning unless you keep moving. Enemy soldiers in the other hand come in squads and they are bullet sponges at times some other times they will die from a couple of shoots, and they can kick your ass to quickly... yes... you will die a lot because of that in this game.
The player can only carry a small amount of weapons and well... there aren't many weapons in this game as well, there are moments were the game will trow you some stealth mechanics for stab enemies while stay hidden on the grass or use the arrow to shoot them, but... they suck... and once you get spotted it's guns blazing, but this kind of games should be 100% guns blazing.
weapons are weak specially the arrow that like i mention you will mostly use it for stealth attacks, but enemies will require at least 2 arrows.
Boss fights are not that often and when they happen, this boss fights will require some specific pasterns to be beaten, the final boss is lame by the way...
After this game the series haven't seen other game, but this game should have never came out.

There's no doubt that Turok can be fun, but ultimately, the feeling of satisfaction that comes with slitting a raptor's throat or pulling off a headshot with your bow is lost in the shuffle of swarming enemies, less than stellar visuals and a story that disappears.
  2. The human A.I. aren't all that intelligent, but what they lack in brains they make up for in resilience.
  3. Dinosaurs rescue an otherwise underwhelming shooter.
