I enjoy the music, game play and humor of this game. Multiplayer is quite fun with friends. I feel like it was well worth purchasing. This game will make you strategize and think through your actions.

The best Tropico in the series, good job to Limbic on making the game. It's totally worth the price. If you are into city building games this is your game.

I love this game, it's just like the same as Tropico 5 but with many new Features, it's a mix of Tropico 4 and 5. I recommend this game for all players who likes City Building games with funny characters and an interesting story.

Love to build on several Island. The Campaign is funny as in every Tropico. Graphics are very good and the simulated Tropicans (Tropicanos) are crazy in detail ( what they´re doing, not the graphics). It´s even better than Tropico 5.

Nice graphics in a new universe for el presidente, what did you need more?! Ok, more lamas, hats and freaky accessoires. But it's a fine so far and if i take a look at Tropico 5, i think more will come.

This may well be the best Tropico game to date. Looks like the dev team took the best features of T4 and T5, mixed them together and added a pile of new stuff for us to do. Great game so far. There are a couple of bugs but nothing game breaking and the dev team appear to be hard at work. The game is also very well optimised and looks really nice. All in all this is a winner.

People giving this a 5/10 clearly have no idea what they want.

it's a great improvement over the prior game. It's not perfect but for the serious I don't really know what people are griping about.

Taking into consideration the entire series, I think Tropico 6 is a solid addition to the Island Dictator family. As of April 2019, the game is an entirely different beast from previous Tropicos in terms of raw difficulty. The game is challenging, though it seems to require some additional balancing to keep the gameplay fresh. Tourism is not viable at all and certain industries are too powerful in comparison to others. The faction system also requires an overhaul as they flood your screen with hundreds of silly, impossible, or otherwise unreasonable requests.

Tropico 6 brings some new industries and structures to the table, many of which compliment the new flagship new feature: the map is now divided into islands, as the Caribbean actually is. The bridge and tunnel (allowing you to burrow through mountains to reach the other side) are delightful and help bring a new element of city-building to the series that has otherwise felt a big stagnant for the past decade. Tropico 3/4/5 felt very similar- Tropico 6 feels like an actually new game.

One last major point- the game suffers from bugs and technical issues, many of which have not been resolved, even three weeks after release. Serious problems like people getting stuck in bus areas or double objective triggers (which two invasions) and others still plague the game. Hopefully they quash these quickly.

It is very enjoyable to make diplomacy in the game. The mechanics in trade and production are very nice. Witty dialogues and messages amused me. BUT there is not day and night cycle in the game.
It's hard to make money in the game. AS A RESULT, players who love strategy and tycoon will love this game.

Tropico 6 has great potential but it falls flat in some of it's aspects. To me personally the game really is great a perfect Tropico experiance. Particularly the rebel system. you still have your usual low, medium, high and very high threat levels. Guerrilla attacks targeting your buildings. And after a while it just becomes tedious. And what I think should have also be added to the game is a new political system which would be a little more in depth. In my opinion they should add a legislature and to be able to hold parliamentary elections and to win the most seats for your party. That way you will be able to create a perfect democratic banana republic or a totalitarian single party dictatorship. But all in all the game si great and I recommend the game. 8 out of 10 Expand

It's essentially Tropico 5.5 with updated graphics, larger maps, FINALLY being able to relocate and edit the palace to somewhere more strategic and safer, more new buildings to plop including Sim City-Esque wonders which are useless and nonsensical (why would a banana republic dictatorship in the Caribbean build the Statue of Liberty or Taj Mahal?!?), and more economics and politicsIt's essentially Tropico 5.5 with updated graphics, larger maps, FINALLY being able to relocate and edit the palace to somewhere more strategic and safer, more new buildings to plop including Sim City-Esque wonders which are useless and nonsensical (why would a banana republic dictatorship in the Caribbean build the Statue of Liberty or Taj Mahal?!?), and more economics and politics options, but it's not a huge leap from 5 in the way 5 was for 4, nor have they changed or fixed issues from the last games. You still can't control and place your forces during attacks and raids. The road drawing tool has always been a frustrating problem and hasn't been fixed. You're still restricted to single lane roads with no option to build Highways, Railroads (although they added trams for some silly reason), ferries, etc. The in-game music is still the same that gets old and wearisome after long. Still no option to make your nation region-specific, like for example basing it in Asia or Africa. The humor and jokes are also old and tired. And if this game really wanted to be edgy and funny, why can't you have the option to export arms or be a drugs/nacro state?

Wait for the DLCs, mods, and patches that should hopefully address these issues. Until then, stick to Tropico 5 or wait until the price comes down.

While it does have a bit more than than, I do feel that sums things up rather well. More than likely we will get DLC that will readd features and buildings from the previous installments or needlessly assine features (like the Twitter of Tropico) that have no real reason for being there. I do enjoy the new options to steal landmarks, yet it feels a bit disjointed. Tropico 6 is a lesson in absurdity. As in, you can make a game with some crazy mechanics or features, but then we cross a line where it goes from fun and wacky to just absurd and boring.

So to be fair, its a really good game. Trust me on that. However I would rather go back to Tropico 5 or better yet the original Tropico....atleast then I could play as Lou Bega (see Mambo #5) trying to destroy the communists by building nightclubs.

Despite all of this griping, and all of these complaints, Tropico 6 is still sort of fun. Partly it's just watching the numbers going up. When the freighter arrives in port and your first shipment of electronics goes to market, netting you enough money to build a new stadium, it's like a little pat on the head that can be weirdly addictive. There are certainly some bugs that probably shouldn't exist on the fourth (fifth? sixth?) iteration of essentially the same game, but the special sauce that has allowed them to actually get away with making six Tropico games is still there.
