What could have been ... was not! Unfortunately Devastation falls short on so many levels. It's like playing an arcade game which was ported to a console then ported to the PC as an afterthought. The character models are well done in a cell shaded style but above that the environments are disastrously plain and unimagined.

Story mode is a thin place holder of an excuse to mash

Story mode is a thin place holder of an excuse to mash buttons with some semblance of purpose and though there is a great nostalgia factor for those who grew up watching the 80's cartoons, its not really capitalized on.

Additionally the game must not be optimized to run on a PC. I've noticed a considerable about of screen tearing while moving the camera around - and considering the game's combat amounts to rush in - mash some buttons - rush out - spin the camera around - rinse and repeat the screen is always tearing.

It's worth buying if you could purchase it for $20.00 USD but definitely not worth the $49.99 that I paid on Steam. Considering that a AAA game like Witcher 3 or Shadow of Mordor can be purchased for that price or thereabouts, it's left me well .... Devastated.

No 900p/1440p resolution support. Cap at 60hz. The port is this game is laughable.

I'm really not a fan of the 80 style, but that's a personal taste. As far as the gameplay goes, it seems okay, but it is still a big step down from the High Moon Studios series.

Transformers: Devastation is a B-tier game that succeeds only by expertly capitalizing on its source material and your nostalgia.

You need to look at Devastation as a sandbox that lets you choose your toys and fight battles you dreamed of. [13/2015, p.60]

This is the Transformers game we wanted all these years.
