Touhou Mystery Reel is a horizontal scrolling action game. The game has a unique combat system. Players make different decisions in the level, which will trigger different plots at the end of the level. It is up to the player to challenge a stronger BOSS or do something "dirty".
There will be various side missions in the levels, and the plot trend will be slightly changed according to the completion of the missions.
