TL;DR only good to play through once for easy campaign levels. **** game. Not worth $60 price tag.

Turn off voip, because the majority of this games community is rotten, rude, mean, racist, and all around cheating garbage human beings on PC. I know you might be thinking how could he judge the game based on the people who play it, well, this games focus is pushing you towards those interactions as much as it can. So yes, I can judge it that way. Again, the score would have been much higher were it not the players chasing people away with their S#&T behavior. Expand

Pros: I really do like the atmosphere, which is way better than the prequel, and the same goes for the story as well. The mechanics haven't really changed, so I didn't notice anything exceptionally great or terrible. It's fun to play with friends, just like The Division (1).
Cons: Players need to face the same thing a load of Ubisoft games "feature", which is terrible optimalisation.

Cons: Players need to face the same thing a load of Ubisoft games "feature", which is terrible optimalisation. This makes those insane graphics of trailers and gameplays appear only in the dreams of a load of us, as it requires massive hardware to run as expected. In most of the cases these frequent lags make the game unplayable or at leas unenjoyable.
The way I see it: although there was great potential in this game, I don't believe Ubisoft has even tried to make the best out of it. It was one hell of a ride to cope with a load of lags and actually try having some fun. (i7-6900k/gtx1080/32gig/ssd)

It's a decent looter shooter, very generic story and repetitive missions (suppose that's expected from Ubi). But the gun-play/combat is where it's at; the various abilities to use are a lot of fun and the variety of weapons makes it worth a buy (When it's on sale). There's also quite a lot of bugs, albeit not game-breaking, they are still there. Imo not worth it at the full price.

Its so bad that Massive can't make use of this great setting, they have created.

Its always the same, even now with the "new" events: Finish this mission you already played at least 50 times again and get some checkpoints to unlock the manhunt. Seriously how lame is that? Give us at least new maps or new type of quest than all this repeating non sense. Ok since the game is only 3- 9

Ok since the game is only 3- 9 bucks worthy I guess they get a lot new players that really enjoy that. But for Players that spend more than 32 days into this game it sucks. Even the Polarity Mission is just boring. Maybe Day1, its was nice to have a new type of challenge but in the end its just shoot this many people in a special way.

I really enjoyed hunting down Keener. But even is death is so meh. No one cares what happens after that. All we get is this endless grind to level 1000. And yeah I did that because I love grinding and did all kind of side activities like Territoriums, Target Practise, Rescue Hostage legid. And yeah its boring as hell even with friends.

Using the glitch was the first time I felt like this is how the game should be. You get so much bad loot in 200 hours of grinding even with this glitch its crazy. And its not like you are rambo and cant die. You still need to find good spots to be in cover or else they will one shot you. I challenged myself with doing legendary runs all over again solo and hell yeah that was a lot of fun. And it tooks me 56 trys to get a crappy rolled exotic. I am a hardcore grinder and I lose 200 hours with the rollback.
it would be fine if I would have played 50 hours but this is just mad.

The generell loot was not very good and it feeled like grinding for legendarys in Anthem(46 hours no legendary).
While using the glitch I went of the grid no groups and no friends that could be affected by it.

I am a developer myself for a game company and I can say that we never would treat customer this way. They could have bring a pop up message that informs player about the situation and who ever is using it will get there accounts rolled back and my guess 90 % would have stopped right away.

But it feels like a team from masseffect andromeda and anthem. I am not sure why they can't fix stuff that is important for players for month, instead they blame the players for there incompetence.

Now we can't matchmake anymore because we can get banned if we matchmake with someone using any glitch. And the next think what is a glitch in there terms because some are allowed and some not.

And now instead of buffing the weapons they are nerfing the only dps build that make sense in this game to the ground.

This game becomes a joke and after 32 days of gametime I am going to stop until they get there **** done.

No more Bullet sponges accept bosses and armored guys
More rewarding Drops no purples and low tier gear in challenging and heroic missions
Revive Hive is working as it should
More content and better quest system.
And the most important think is this toxic mindset that Massive has against his playerbase. If this will not change than there live service game will become the next Anthem.

Its time for Final Fantasy 7 and to grind again like it should be ^^

    Division 1: 400 hours
    Division 2 (When I made this review): 79 hrs @ GS509

I wanted to give a fair review since most 10's in here criticize important game features but somehow it doesn't retract from a perfect score? Most 0's reviews don't give credit where credit is due.

    Pros:
Great Atmosphere, graphics, quantity of guns and gear. Plenty of loot to choose from that can be customized to excessively with mods and combinations. Plenty of world activities, especially for the first play through at tier 1. You will not be disappointed completing the base game activities. And if that is all you're interested in for 60 bucks, you will not be disappointed.

    Cons:
Pretty much everything else unfortunately (meaning the endgame). And before you jump to any conclusions I'm just hating on the game, I have a collective 479 hours total for the series, and to my knowledge im not a masochist.

    End game content is BROKEN.

Gear: As of this review, the class sets (greens) are useless and inferior to anything yellow high end gear can provided. The perks they give have marginal effects on enemies and marginal beneficial effects on players. The only way to actually be relevant is to max out DPS, and focus fully on damage, and damage alone. Defense and tech capabilities just don't do any damage. This means no customizing play styles to match different enemy types or gaming preferences. Its all about point and shoot x100000. Which isn't helped by the fact that enemies are tanky bullet sponges. You and your buddies will literally follow bosses around dumping 10 mags each into his/her's face while the boss casually runs/walks around as if they're being pelted with spitballs. This pretty much sums up all smaller enemies with health bar slight bordering on 3 mags/kill (2 mags for headshots).

With regards to weapons, the best firearms are consistently assault rifles and LMGs. Everything else, is useless save for the exception when you need a sniper to pick off a distant enemy (Which is far and few between). This becomes a frustrating and simply boring process of mindlessly shooting bullet sponges. At least in Div 1 you could try different playstyles (support/medic/assault) in order to focus on various roles. Without that, and dealing with bullet sponges, it just becomes a repetitive grindy game with no excitement in playing against AI's with the intellectual capacity of 2 brain cells (They will literally runs in circles or hop over the same piece of cover 10 times before choosing a spot)

Additionally, the lack of polish exacerbates the aformentioned flaws. There are glitches EVERYWHERE. They happen consistently enough that you'll be dealing with them every game you play. This becomes extremely annoying when fighting on challenging or heroic, where small glitches can literally cost you the mission, forcing you start lengthy segments all over again. Glitches include:

    1. Can't revive allies
    2. Getting stuck and unable to move
    3. Equipment not deploying
    4. Failure of the UI to respond to commands such as changing cover, rolling, basic movement, deploying gear.
    5. Enemies literally popping in and out of existence. One second you be alone, the next you're surround by 4 yellow health bar enemies.
    6. Unstable server connection causing: enemy rubberbanding, delayed response, general lag
    7. Enemy health bars won't respond to damage dealt, or there is some odd delay before the game registers an enemy is out of health before "killing" that enemy
    8. Game doesn't balance out factions with lower level friends. One second we'll be playing through a mission taking appropriate damage and dealing appropriate damage, the next people are getting one shotted from no where.
    9. Enemies shoot through cover. This one is extremely annoying and frequent. I have lost track of times where enemies are firing through cement, cars, roadblocks, etc while the enemy is literally pointing their weapon through the ground or the enemy is in a regular cover animation.

Generally speaking the game suffers from lack of balancing for gear (most gear and weapons are useless and there's not point in striving to obtain gearsets yet) as well as what seems to be complete lack of polish in the sever connection integrity and polish in gameplay represented by numerous/frequent glitches. 6.0-6.5 Average user rating is good representation for this games current state. I would highly suggest waiting a couple months for appropriate balancing to be implemented and cleaning up of the numerous glitches before spending hard earned money.

From the scope of the city to the almost dizzying array of weapons to be found, the whole feel of the game tells me that they learned a lot of hard lessons from the first game and brought their "A" game into the making of The Division 2. Also as others have mentioned the optimization level is amazing. I'm running it currently on a Lenovo y530 Legion laptop (Core i5 8300h, 8gbs of memory, Nvidia 1050) with nary a stutter in sight. It's smoother to play, consistently loads, doesn't over-buff enemies making them bullet sponges, and simplifies the complicated stats system that required a couple high-level statistics and probability classes to understand fully. It's basically what the first Division game should have been from the start and it was extremely imperative that Ubisoft didn't repeat history or the IP would have been lost for good. But what it doesn't do is refresh the gameplay to the point where this feels like a new and improved Division experience. Nothing feels radically better and I'm kind of bugged by that. It would have been nice for the developers to consider what steps could be taken to tighten up the gameplay a bit more and whether some new creative license could be used to make the skills system more impacting and varied. There's also the issue that i have in that the stats system seems to almost get oversimplified to the point where it's basically Division stats for dummies, vol. 1 and I don't really like that. I prefer the simpler version to the super complicated one but having the ability to deeply craft your agent's abilities and effectiveness in different ways is a big part of what makes any RPG game highly replayable and unique. Despite some of my wishes for changes or different paths for design in this game, it's largely a good game and while I don't feel excited to jump in to it like I did the first game I largely enjoy it. The biggest reason to buy this game is the lengthy campaign and deep, varied endgame content which transforms your general playable world and introduces you to tougher enemies and new specialization skills and weapons that at least offers some differences in gameplay but not in ways that radically change how you play - they're mild changes but they do have appeal and that's at least a good start. Then there's the guarantee that year 1 DLC is all free and Ubisoft has suggested that there will be 3 nice-sized expansions to Division 2 post-launch before it offers what is probably going to be a big expansion pack a-la Destiny's Forsaken, but what's nice to know is that these smaller DLC packs that are free will advance the storyline of the base game as well as introduce new missions and endgame content.

If you loved The Division's 1.8 patch then you'll love Division 2 which essentially takes everything that Ubisoft learned from the first game and applies that knowledge to the second game. If Ubisoft plays their cards right then Division 2 should have a longer shelf life, giving players 2-3 years of meaningful content to play post-launch and that would be a huge win in an era where nothing is truly free and DLCs are more of an afterthought or gimmick than an essential extension of good core games.

Been following the development of the game as much as the devs have been willing to share. At first, it looked like it was going to be a refined version of the first game to be able to sell the good quality product they had achieved after 3 years of content patches, but in reality, what we got was much better.

This sequel is a rework from the ground up of the play experience, core mechanics and gameplay.

In terms of the play experience there's a much bigger variety of possible and interesting things to do, specially in the endgame. In the campaign, since the main missions were designed with endgame in mind they're really varied, which makes the campaign experience fluid and not repetitive, a thing that's also helped by the fact that secondary missions are as close as they can get to main missions, unique scenery and gameplay all around. This game secondary missions feel more main-y than other games' main missions.

Landscape and scenery wise I expected Washington to be a dull place for a game, but it turns out it was not. It's really varied which is essential to keep you engaged and feel like you're mixing things up and it's also filled up to the brim with stuff to pick up and discover. And god, is it beautiful as well.

In terms of mechanics, skills have improved a ton since the first title. Even though some of them still lack identity (new pulse, maybe firefly?) the rest feel awesome and make a real impact on-use. The gunplay is HELL OF A LOT better this time around, as is the sound in general and the music and gunshots in particular.

I'm giving this game a 10, but we don't really know yet if it'll be a 10-game. It'll all depend on the content patches and how frequent and hefty they are. The base they got to work with is infinetely times better than what they got with TD1, and they got it to work back there, I hope they're exploit the hell out of this masterpiece of a release build.

If I had to pinpoint anything negative, I still don't like the solo experience in the Dark Zones, since even though there's supposed to be a system in place that would try to match you versus other solo players, it doesn't seem to work all that well and it can be annoying to be in a DZ with a a couple of 4 man groups in it, you feel like you're forced to PVE.

Anyhow, just buy this game, it's insane and you won't regret it!

As for gameplay I’m not a fan of cover based shooters but overall shooting mechanics feel satisfying. And progression system gives an opportunity to adjust your build to your preferences. Speaking about “bullet sponge” concerns of a big number of players , I didn’t notice it much during early access as common “red bar” enemies may be killed sometimes in number of two for one clip of my gold ak-m.

Also need to mention that in pvp some guns had been balanced since beta which is good news.

As for cons of the game, for a new player it may seem complicated at first as the number of player stats are dumped at you without much explanation how it is better to manage them, but after some time it becomes more understandable.

Looks like microtransactions are just cosmetics (as for now) that maybe earned at random through finding them in missions and open world, and also through loot boxes, that are also earned for leveling/completing certain objectives.

Overall, Division 2 is a refreshing game after recent fails of some looter-shooter and open-world games that I will not name.

I'm currently at lvl 22, had a couple of bugs on PC but the patches they apply are on spot and they are fast so everything runs smoothly if you give them some time. Remembering the launch of TD1, it had a lot of lag issues and errors like the delta 3 and bugs, but this game shows that they have learned from the past and they have outdone themselves.
    Pros:
-Story is great so far, I really liked the TD1 for this, and in TD2 is done perfectly, continuing the story and checking on data from the past.
-AI is challenging at some points (Like in the Dark Zone), they always try to flank you, not the best way they can, but it doesn't feel boring engaging in combat.
-Types of enemies, we have a LOT more enemy classes than before and that's a great addition.
-Collecting items and doing events doesn't feel like a chore, it's always cool to walk around and help some people.
-The feel that everything is alive, the people that helps you, that are roaming and enemies that appear out of nowhere.
-You need to be tactical, plan your way through, set your skills and then engage. You can go straight to a fight, but you probably will die. Stay in cover and check your surroundings.
-The loot, is everywhere, weapons, armor, mods, skill upgrades, and clothing.
-Micro-transactions are done right, you can get keys to open boxes just by playing, and you only get emotes, clothes or skin modifiers for weapons and I believe for skills too. Perfectly done, not invasive or game changing.

    Cons:
Minor bugs (With skills) that already were patched.

A must play if you are into the Shooter-looter games.

Boring story. I won't give any spoilers but even people that like the gameplay thinks the story is boring. Gameplay is repetitive and requires almost no thinking. Find cover and shoot the bullet sponge npc's and watch your flanks. That's it.

Advertised as solo friendly - it isn't. Devs said the AI would be scaled for solo players but that isn't true. You will die and respawn so much

Interesting gameplay can make up for a boring story. And a good story can make up for the mediocre gameplay. But Division 2 is sucks on both fronts. After only 4 hours I'm so bored I never want to play this game again. Visually the game looks amazing and I'll rate it 2 just for that.

I have however, very few quarrels with this looter-shooter. The loot from bags and suitcases seems a bit silly (a crayon, a pencil etc.). I mean...a suitcase would normally contain more clothes and a bag would perhaps contain a bit more than a single crayon. This however is not enough to drag down the score. But the fact that enemies are still quite bullet-spongy is reason enough for me not to give it a max score. Overall an excellent looter-shooter with tons of interesting content. Well played Ubisoft. Beautiful world, excellent gameplay, great sound/music. Most bug-free launch of a AAA game in recent memory. Runs silky smooth at 1440p on my 1080Ti. DX12 render works flawlessly for me as well.

The game is amazing, and this is how looter shooter should be. It's funny how most of the users that gave the game a 0 also gave Anthem a 10, and they gave the division 2 PS4 version a 0 as well. Those people are real pathetic.

The best game launched this year. can't stop playing it. All looter shooters can learn from this one. So much content on launch day and not a single minute have I felt that I'm wasting my time.

I can confidently give this game a really good score and review. I normally never leave reviews (as you can see from my account this is my first) but I feel that i really have to about The Division 2.

If you like the "looter shooter" genre of games ie: Destiny, Borderlands, Anthem etc then this is the game for you. There are so many positives. - Runs very very well on the PC with all

If you like the "looter shooter" genre of games ie: Destiny, Borderlands, Anthem etc then this is the game for you. There are so many positives.

    - Runs very very well on the PC with all the settings maxed I have a really smooth and beautiful experience (and I don't even have a top of the line pc)
    - Summon the loot is very present in this game, not only is there more than enough loot than you can ask for but the loot you get is meaningful where there are hard choices that you will need to make, even at low levels.
    - The enemy AI is very good and there are some seriously good encounters where the enemy make really good, solid, tactical decisions and will make you react and play more skillfully to get past a mission or enemy.
    - There is so much to do in this game, and this is just at launch, let alone what they have planned for the end-game and the devs built this game with "end-game first" mentality, but even before you get to the end-game there is so damn much to do, it's great
    - The missions are very well developed and are very different from each other and will (at least for me) make you very tense in certain situations and you actually feel a sense of achievement getting through them
    - The world feels very good and real and hand crafted. So much to see and do just exploring (I have spent many an hour just walking around discovering stuff).

All in all and very good and polished game, which can not be said for some games that come out these days. Definitely recommend to buy!

Great Game. Like part 1 but consequently removing the faults of the first one.

A great game that is as big and complex as you want to make it! Do the campaign only if you want, do the end game if you want, do pvp if you want, but even for the campaign it's worth the $60. Would be 10/10 had it not been for the randomizied cosmetic loot boxes and the small weird bugs like enemies teleporting.

Perfect reward system, very tactile gunplay and great visuals make Division 2 the best loot shooter on the market, and one of the best co-op games in the recent years. [Issue#237, p.36]

For all the deafening noise and fury of its street battles and set-pieces, The Division 2 is, at heart, a game of co-operative tidying up with incrementally better guns.

With the experience accumulated on The Division 1, Massive manages with TD2 to excite our curiosity. Stronger, more generous, better built, the title succeeds where other games as service before it has struggled to. Thanks to its end-game, which renew the experience by adding content and skillfully recycles the existing one, but also thanks to this map of Washington, absolutely fantastic, which allows more than ever to immerse yourself in the universe of the agents of the Division.
