If you're seeking a good story, this game is not for you. Yes, arts, music and mechanics itsselves is not bad, but the story is just awful. The developer's ego is so huge, that it ruins the whole plot by it's massive body.

I don't think someone who truly loves the point and click adventures of the 80's and 90's could like this game. It's ok to invoke fond memories of a fading genre, but if that's ALL we need, we can replay those games on emulation. This game lacks humor, mystery and likeable characters. When it thinks it made a funny, it repeats it like a broken record. It's frustrating, and exploring Thimbleweed seems completely devoid of fun for the player, like it is for the agents. Expand

Not funny, seriously, there are no funny jokes like in Monkey Island or similar.
Underused characters. Many characters that do only one or two things in the whole story.
Poor ending (looks like someone didn't wanted to spend more money and closed it too fast). You are waiting to see the ending of all the storys and suddenly everything finish stupidly. Most of the puzles are Ilogical and

Most of the puzles are Ilogical and boring. There are not many actions to do and one character (Ray) is almost useless during the whole play.

The more you advance the easier it is. You can resolve last chapters in one hour or less.

Thimbleweed Park ultimately seems to care about neither its story nor its characters. What’s the core here, then? I suspect it’s just about the easy, wistful smile, and the prick of familiar memory. Do you remember? asks Thimbleweed Park as it displays its lustrous imitation of a bygone era, and on seeing a nod it lies: Yes, it was just like this.

A pleasant puzzling trip down memory lane. [Issue#187, p.74]

A shot in the arm for the genre. Smart, funny, and only slightly tainted by a stop-start plot. [May 2017, p.79]
