The Magnificent Trufflepigs is a beautiful escape to the countryside; its slow pace lends itself to being a relaxing and almost meditative experience. Top-class voice acting and excellent writing means you’ll quickly care for its characters and their stories; and regardless of how you feel about the ending, it’s hard to disagree that the journey was worthwhile.

The Magnificent Trufflepigs is a short and sweet experience. The game successfully fleshes out an entire character and their development within the narrative and allows for players to find themselves in the story. While graphics, sound design, and excellent voice performances were polished, the gameplay and storytelling have more potential to hold player's interests.

Well-written dialogue and top-quality voice acting can make The Magnificent Trufflepigs endearing, but a dull gameplay loop and narrative missteps might leave a bad aftertaste.

The Magnifficent Trufflepigs falls short of the mark in its proposal, whose playable base is based on detecting metals that give rise to an excellently interpreted and remarkably written conversation. Its rhythm, a great advantage, stimulates you to keep going until the end, but its mechanics are far from what has been achieved by other walking simulators. In addition, its story has left us wanting more; more depth and depth. We recommend it only for fans of the genre with an emphasis on narrative.

The Magnificent Trufflepigs is a small-scale affair, both in terms of technical scope and dramatic themes, when compared to its award-winning inspirations. It’s not especially memorable but it has just enough warmth and wit to get you through a spare Sunday afternoon.

The Magnificent Trufflepigs is an interesting character-driven story that doesn't quite meet its potential. It lacks the nuance required to be a truly great, especially when it comes to its broader plot, but there's still charm here among its performances and solid depiction of village country life.

Though Trufflepigs is not the game I was expecting, it’s still a generally pleasant and engaging experience. I loved getting to know Beth and Adam, but the plot is incredibly uneven and feels unfinished. Had I gone into the game thinking it was centered only around Beth and Adam, I would have enjoyed it far more. Sadly, the missed opportunities of the heavily-advertised ‘murderer’ plotline left a sour taste in my mouth.

The Magnificent Trufflepigs offers a gorgeous stroll through the English countryside which sadly gets muddied by some weak story choices and repetitive gameplay.

I’m a big fan of “walking simulators,” but The Magnificent Trufflepigs hems in its exploration and storytelling so severely that I never felt like I was walking much at all. This is more a “get interrupted constantly” simulator: not a vein I’m particularly eager for developers to mine.
