The Lost Crown stands head and shoulders above most of the adventure game offerings that have come our way over the last few years and frankly I was saddened when it finally ended.
-
So... what's my final take on The Lost Crown then? More ambitious than Dark Fall, that's for sure. And quite a bit longer. Scariest thing I've played in a long time, maybe even since Realms of the Haunting.
-
All in all I was fairly impressed with The Lost Crown. A deep story and a disturbingly creepy score put this title high on my list of creepy adventure titles and of adventure titles in general.
-
The Lost Crown is like watching The Ring, only longer. Technically it's just average, but the atmosphere is dense and haunting. Fans of atmospheric horror games should definitely take a look.
-
The Lost Crown has a great, creepy atmosphere, and the presentation is one of a kind. Dark shadows, spectral figures, near constant mist, and chilling sounds are bound to give most folks an uneasy feeling about playing the game at night in a dimly lit room.
-
Atmosphere. Jonathan Boakes is a master at creating atmosphere. With lovely yet creepy visual settings, a story with secrets and ghosts, spine-tingling ambient sounds, The Lost Crown presents a tale sure to attract and basically please most adventure game players. But is a spooky atmosphere enough?
-
While The Lost Crown isn't perfect, thanks to the flaws mentioned previously, if you like your point and click adventures then it could be a worth addition to your collection.
-
Pelit (Finland)The Lost Crown is a solid ghost-hunting adventure with well-designed puzzles and storyline. The visual design is original. both photographic backgrounds and well used colouring add to the game's eerie atmosphere. There are many flaws, though: you can't skip the dialogue, there's a lot of frustrating walking to and fro etc. But even with its many flaws The Lost Crown is well worth the money. [Feb 2009]

More than a good game – which it actually isn't – The Lost Crown is an experience not to be missed by those who have a penchant for the supernatural.
-
In conclusion, The Lost Crown: A Ghost-hunting Adventure is an almost dead genre on the PC, however for fans of this genre, this is definitely a worthy purchase and will keep you enthralled with it's spooky story and strange settings. The gameplay is at times dated but if you can get past, you'll have an enjoyable time.
