Skyrim is terrible for a multitude of reasons:

    - It is layered in glitches.

    - Almost everything vaguely involving physics instantly screws up.

    - The controls are far too similar to an arcade game.

    - Jumping turns you into a glider.

    - Combat feels like you are playing as a cardboard cutout of a fantasy hero stereotype waving
    cardboard boxes around your head.

    - The graphics are very slightly better than the first game in the series.

    - All of the features are unoriginal or stolen.

    - It takes you a few hours to walk somewhere, only to find out that it is identical to where you set out
    from

    - The plot makes no sense and is unoriginal: You play as someone who is different to everyone else
    for no particular reason.

    - The animations just look abysmal.

    - The size of this list, just explaining what is wrong with basic features.

Some of the only good features is the absurd possibilities with modding, but even then.

-Stupid characters not following (The one from the start)
    -Instant suicide (My character dying)

So that is why I think this game should be erased from this planet, this game sucks!!!!

Skyrim is not only the best RPG ever made, it is also the best game ever to be made to date (2015) and the ONLY game to be truly worthy of a 10/10 score. Beautiful graphics, fantastic gameplay, a totally immersive and convincing world, so much freedom to go where you want and do what you fancy, skills that level up the more you use them (like it should be!)... the list of its achievements goes on and on.

All of this is made even better by the Bethesda modding tools and extensive modding community, which can turn an already excellent game into something truly amazing and breathtaking. With a little work, you can literally customize the game to suit your particular preferences! Don't like the way the inventory is setup? Change it! Theres nothing stopping you.

Ignore the low scores; especially the 0/10's. Never in anyone's wildest imagination does this game deserve a score like that. I can only assume that those reviewers have some kind of hidden agenda - perhaps they work for rival game developers, who knows? They certainly aren't being honest.

Is this game perfect? No - no game is. But its easily the closest thing you'll get to perfect right now.

Some might complain about outdated combat, but...

Reading the wiki on how to level quickly by doing unrealistic things has decreased my enjoyment a little (less immersion), so I'd personally advise you don't. This is without reservation my new favourite game of all time. The best part of the game is that you can go anywhere and do anything you want to do and be anything you want to be, and still do it all in a way to achieve a whole bunch of great storylines and one grand plot. Because the world is so free to interact with and do whatever suits you, I'm surprised there are any complaints at all by anyone, I wonder what sort of mental issues someone could have if they give this a bad review. Even the mundane generated quests are varied and unique and worthwhile. Some of the quest choices I had to make made me full of regret and remorse after I made them, and heck, I'm a coldhearted gamer and never really care about doing evil things in a game! One choice I had to make in particular really made me feel genuinely bad ... what other games out there that can instill genuine *feeling*? Even when my dumb companion would die, I felt a bit attached and would have to restore the latest save and try again so they wouldn't be gone forever. Weird.

On top of that, the graphics are beautiful, the dungeons are never a chore like they became sometimes in Fallout, Oblivion and Morrowind, and there's a huge, full world that you're not going to finish exploring anytime soon. I'm actually surprised they fit all of this into a few gigabytes. The only mentionable point of suckage is the voice acting....they should have hired a bunch more regular sounding people that don't sound like cheap Romanian porn stars to do more of the dialog, but not a big deal. There are also a few bugs here and there but not enough to discourage me in any way.

All in all, I spent 120 hours to finish the main quest and most of the side story arcs, but there's still lots of loose ends and one major class storyline left to do and a hell of a pile of unexplored map, so I got a ton of value out of it so far. Plus in a few months they'll be releasing modding tools and hopefully some expansion packs to breathe even more life into is because I really don't want it to end.

Skyrim is a worthy successor to Oblivion. Nothing really has changed much in terms of the formula but if it ain’t broke why fix it? You could do worse than trying out this masterpiece (like taking an arrow to the knee for instance - okay sorry that one's been done to death :)).

I expected a 10, to be fair: Skyrim didn't live up to it's hype.

Cities are too small, characters are dull and have the same voice actor, story has only 1 ending, combat is the biggest pile of poo I've ever seen, etc, etc.

Even though that, I like the horses, they can't run 12 mile per hour but can walk in 90 degree mountains,
    just...

    Nice job bethesda.

This game is for casuals who like to play game without worrying about mistakes affecting your game.
Quests cannot be failed, quest marker automatically shows where you need to go, Important NPC's cannot be killed, ridiculously overpowered spells/shouts, dumb enemy AI. If you are even playing this game below Master difficulty you deserve to be kicked to the crotch.

Skyrim is freaking awesome. It has a cool, interesting story with the old fashion, bizarre prisoner opening setting, tons of cool, slick, unique weapons and armor, tons of books to read filled with detailed lore, great skill tree, much improved UI over Oblivion, improved leveling, much faster paced combat, and much more.

The reason I gave it a 9 is because the AI can be so poor that it

The reason I gave it a 9 is because the AI can be so poor that it could be hilarious or very frustrating. Their pretty stupid. They get lost, walk into walls, die all the time, ect.. You should also buy it on PC if you can run it, which you should be able to as recommend is a GTX 260 which is pretty low by todays standards. It's better on PC for mods and WAY, WAY faster loading screens. This game is an eight on consoles just because it has a pretty low framerate and super long loading screens.

It's worth getting for any system, but I recommend on PC for the reasons I stated earlier. Skyrim isn't better than Morrowind, but it does lift a bar so high that no RPG has yet to raise further.

The worst game in the TES series. It is ultra boring. I've seen that this game is very popular and i've tried to play this game for like 4 times. Every time after 20 minutes of playing i was falling asleep and then i was deleting the game. My managed to play this game for 6 days, but then he said this game is garbage. I loved the community, which made mods cause they loved the game.
Valve destroyed that in one night, together with Bethesda.
I've translated mods and worked on other mods, never wanted a penny for it.

Unfortunately, Skyrim trips and falls on its own (most probably, to make the cool-sounding deadline of 11-11-11) and just before it reaches perfection as the ultimate specimen of its genre, it self-destructs in a crucial aspect of game design: the interface and the peripheral components (inventory, journal, map, etc)... but that is not to say that Skyrim is anything but a truly majestic, epic RPG that will suck you right in its cosmos.
