I got ESO a few years back, after playing a bit of the beta and jumping back in to see what Elder Scrolls online's Morrowind expansion had to offer, I was delighted, i would think that it would've been less than 40$ for the upgrade, but the story was surprisingly good, not good enough to be a great single player elder scrolls game by itself, but it was the best mmo experience I've had so far.

I'm pretty much in the exact same boat as Flghtboost, this is the best storytelling I've encountered in a MMO to date, think the price is a little high perhaps ($40 upgrade after buying the CE at launch and subbing to ESO+ again just this week), but it makes up for it in amazing atmosphere, questing and some truly funny characters to meet. What a wonderful game! If you are still stuck on what the Elder Scrolls Online was at launch, please reconsider! The questing is wonderful. The battlegrounds pvp they added with this update is a ton of fun too. I played this game in beta and for a few months at launch and felt it just wasn't quite there. It's there now. If you want to explore Tamriel with a friend, now is a better time than ever to do so! Expand

I love Eso but this content is trash I hate the fact I have to drop another 15$ to pay for an slot to make a warden. When you introduce a new class you should get a slot free with the purchase of Morrowind. So initially you should only be paying for the class and trial so it should be 20 usd not 40.

Far too overpriced for what you get. This should have been regarded as DLC, not an expansion. The content is good but not full game price good. I would suggest waiting until you can get it for $20 or less because that's about how much content value it holds.

The reason I gave it such a low rating is because the balance changes done with this update made PvP much more enjoyable but it

The reason I gave it such a low rating is because the balance changes done with this update made PvP much more enjoyable but it made PvE much less enjoyable. I happen to be a PvE player primarily so this update has soured the game for me. I've been playing this game since the beta and I think now is the time that I will put it down once and for all. The grind that it took to get some of the end-game gear from certain trials is ridiculous. Played this game for 2 years and still don't have some of the end-game weapons I've been working for. Now that the PvE aspect has been changed in the way that it has, it makes the grind feel even less worth it. I think this update, for the most part, killed the PvE aspect of the game.

ESO as a whole is a fun and solid MMO, especially one that is buy-to-play. This expansion (or DLC) adds a new class which is always fun, but it just feels a little shallow. The price is rather high and you don't get a lot for the money. Helps to add on to the game, just not much, and not $40 worth either.

Hmm, I really wanted nothing more than for this to be an incredible and enjoyable nostalgia trip, and while I am enjoying it, I am disappointed. Of course this isn't Bethesda's game, it is Zenimax, but I for some reason expected some of the the cities, characters, and vibes from the original game to carry over. The cities are cool, but just lack feeling. The buildings are closed for the most part, and there is not much to do aside from the usual shops and the NPCs involved with my active quests. In Morrowind, just about every destination and persona had huge amounts of character. It just feels to me like they skimmed a little bit of morrowind off the top and sprinkled it on to their MMO. I appreciate this gesture to appease long term fans, but you CAN'T SKIMP THE DETAILS when trying to compare to an incredible classic game like Morrowind.

Disappointment aside, I really like the storylines, dialogues, and MAIN characters. Some locations are very detailed, but overuse of props doesn't make up for the lack of meaningful accessible locations and interesting characters. I also think that for an expansion or "Chapter" that costs two thirds as much as a newly released PS4 games should have content quality and quantity that justifies the price. I DO enjoy the new class addition. Only a small handful of new armor sets and weapons were introduced, and the mounts and pets do not really seem to be relevant to the content at all. Maybe my opinion will start to change as I get farther through the content, who knows.

Morrowind "expansion" is actually more aptly called DLC. However by calling it an expansion, the devs now can exclude subscribers that do not purchase Morrowind from future contents related to Morrowind. That being said what's there is good, there's no doubt about that. The price point however should be no more than $20.

Shameless cash grab. It's a DLC like the previous ones in all but name and price.
    Way to screw subscribers, zenimax.
avoid until it's for sale for like $15, not worth more than that.

Elder Scrolls Online has continuously improved since launch with every iteration of content. Vvardenfell delivers an amazing landscape, and some of the best story writing I have ever seen from an mmo. The warden class is a breath of fresh air, with a great variety of abilities. The alternate start supplies a compelling story, and leads to a giant nostalgia trip as you make your way to Seyda Neen. Overall the new story content is better than any of its predecessors, the landscape and new assets are detailed making it that much more enjoyable to be doing content within Vvardenfell, the new battlegrounds offer more variety to the pvp, and the new class will be welcomed by seasoned players. I find this expansion pretty disappointing to be honest. In comparison to other mmo full expansions it's extremely lacking in content, it feels about on pace to the Wrothgar DLC maybe a small bit larger in overall size but content wise not much more. The world does feel like original Morrowind and the nostalgia is real - however I was disappointed in the somewhat lifeless and closed off Balmora and Vivec the same way. Many buildings in Balmora are closed up and only 1 of the cantons in Vivec is fully explorable like TES III. I'm happy to say some old tunes are in the OST for the expansion, redone, but that's nice to hear. Overall it's a nice romp with nostalgia but pretty lackluster to me if I'm being objective about it. So I have only put about 40hrs into this game. I have really enjoyed the time I have played though. The quests aren't very imaginative, the graphics are so-so, but the lore, all the books, fully voiced characters. It is a treat to feel immersed in a game world.

First of all, the game is not nearly as bad as people say it is, my low rating is due to the code of conduct, how easy it is to abuse it, and the fact that zenimax is pandering to SJW's at this point in time. I am sorry but if its that easy to abuse the system, then there is zero point in giving a positive review about a game as a whole, as they can shut down your entire account and waste the hundreds of dollars you have spent. I hesitated joining an mmo several years after launch, because games can have a tough barrier to entry. I survived about 3 weeks playing for free, before I decided it was worth the upgrade to subscribe. The free to play was nice to be able to test the game (bought on sale) without making a heavy commitment, but the subscriber benefits are worth it for a player trying to grow.
New content is being added faster than I care to finish it, which helps the most active player base stay engaged, though the typical complaints about server issues, especially in pvp, still abound.
The lore is incredibly rich and engaging, and does not disappoint the elder scrolls line. If you enjoy the elder scrolls games, just remember, this isn't skyrim, and takes place in the 2nd era (skyrim is 4E), so don't expect it to be the same! Graphics work well on modern hardware, and it is playable at 4k.

I tried, really tried to like The Elder Scrolls as a MMORPG, I gave it a fair number of chances. Now I hoped the Morrowind will be a game-changer, but unfortunately it will not convince those who were unable to embrace TESO earlier. [09/2017, p.50]

The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind is a great nostalgia trip for those that experienced the original main series game. Other than that, though, what it has to offer is outclassed by better, more popular games. However, if you do want to experience the oft-talked about Morrowind setting in a more modern game engine with more modern gameplay mechanics, and are able to look past its flaws, this might be a good time-waster for you.

ESO: Morrowind is a fantastic addition to the base game, including exceptional writing in quests, a new class and PvP battlegrounds. Despite some minor issues, the game is worth your time.
