Quite a well rounded game. Enjoyable story with good humor, decent (though slow) level progression, and best of all fun, turn-based tactical RPG combat!

Game is reasonably bug free as of October 2020. (3rd patch or something)

Solid turn based crpg with an emphasis on combat and nicely voice-acted silly dialogue. Both of which are executed expertly and represent the main selling point of the game.

The UI on PC could be better but other than that its quite good for an indie crpg.

The game story telling is nice , the narrative is great. I enjoyed playing the game. Just don’t buy it on Nintendo switch and get it on pc. It’s very light probably any laptop can run it better than the switch. Switch port in optimized. The pc version of the game is well made. I enjoy the game and find it very funny. It’s basically turn based rpg that is funny.

No bugs, nice nelevl design, good depth for the fight system, and of course, the legendary Naheulbeuk universe, deveopped 20 years by Pen of Chaos.
Artistic direction is really nice, same for musics and dialogue. The story is hilarious and compelling, the jokes are good, and there are hundreds of small references to loveraft, tolkien, and other famous fantasy/fiction master piece.

Dont let yourself get scared of by a few bad reviews from people with a toaster for a computer. The game runs fine, and better than the average release this days. The couple of "professional" critic that have review this game to give it average grades are often offended by the humour this game has. You probably know how it is in 2020, people will get offended for no reason.

Keep in mind that this game is a great work, made by a small team of pasionate nerds and role play gamer over the course of quite a few years. It aint, perfect, but its damn refreshing. Dont hasitate two second to get it.

A lot of quests and some puzzles, even riddles at times. The music is good. The controller is good for moving and interacting with the world, but it's pretty awkward in combat and the inventory window. Those on PC should use the keyboard mouse in those areas. I give it 82%. Truly fun RPG that lasted around 24 hours (not counting the DLC) Expand

One of the most underrated games ever.
Some people don't get the humor and find the dwarf annoying, well, that's why he was born.
And he ate all his Chiantos before joining the game...
I spent more than 30 hours on it, and I enjoyed every part of it.
I wish they make a VR mode for it, that would be amazing.

Très bonne réalisation. Graphisme, sound design, dialogue… vraiment bien travaillé.

    Bastooooon !!!

The game is OK, but the English voice acting is cringy, especially from Felicia Day, the fake gamer girl who in the past said she was almost 'abused" because some guys in GamerGate T-shirt walked past her on the street without even looking at her.

I started it without any expectations and knowing very little about the source material and so far I've been mesmerized. I'm some 40 hours in and I hope there's lots more to come. The combat system I like the most, when you're able ti to setup combos it's very satisfying. The game does many things in its own way - see the Randomia bar - but they seem to all work together very well.. Dissapointed. What a pity of game. It has GREAT graphics, good animations, good history.. BUT..

And it is a BIG BUT.. Gameplay is so frustrating. Lets go point by point:

1-Combats are SCRIPTED!!! , no matters how many times you reload a savegame the same conclusion is gonna happen ( if the computer has decided this turn your character is gonna have a critical failure, that will happens ALWAYS) so whats the point on save in the middle of combats?

2-Combats take years! And specially this turn base combat feels old and clunky. Jesuchrist I don't want to micromanage and select the direction the character is gonna face, make that automatic to the best option.

3-Enemies do so much damage that it is annoying. Even a little goblin can do 20 or more damage per turn to your armoured tanks. Team characters are all time dying because of the poor balance of the enemies. And I'm playing in "Normal" difficulty.. lucky of me that I didn't select the Hard one.

4-Movement in the normal map is also annoying, camera controls and UI too.

5-Loading times are.. veeeery long. So this makes combats even more annoying when you have to reload a lot because of the unfair computer.

6-Loot is poor. A sword cant be used for other sword wielding chars just because isn't made for you.

7-Chars has healing skills that can use inside combat for free but they cant use it outside combat because of .. poor gameplay design. So you have to waste potions if you want to heal outside combat even if u have a f****ng cleric in your team

So basically.. a beautiful game that you don't want to play because is clunky in mechanics.

The comedy tone is fun, but don't let that fool you into thinking it won't have challenging combat, because it does. I just finished a battle where I was so much in flow, there was so much to keep in mind, that I lost track of time as I just had to finish that battle. There were so many enemy that I thought there was no way I could win, but I did. Perfect.

Packed with humour, laughs and pop culture references sprinkled on top with some RPG elements. The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk is a very specific game for a very specific audience, but it can easily surprise even the most generic players.

Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet of Chaos has a lot of obstacles in its way from becoming a solid gem worth your time. The first few hours are a bit of a drag to get through since the majority of this time you’ll spend either hating the dialogue or hating the difficulty from the (more predetermined than random) RNG that this game employs. Trudge through this and you’ll find that the learning curve gets easier, the writing simmers down a bit, but the difficulty still remains the same.
