    The game is only easier because it gets harder the longer you play. You just forgot that srdavidhoney because time makes a fool of us all. Awesome game. I will spend at least a quarter of a year and it will be awesome.

    I got to the first real boss fight at the end of the first stage and I got stomped on and killed by a very fat leg. Obviously I wasn't as geared up as I thought and I'm going to have to revaluate my strategy. A very addictive game with some very imaginative, twisted and disturbing art work and a soundtrack that gets under your skin. Just watch the teaser trailer on YouTube and you'll get aI got to the first real boss fight at the end of the first stage and I got stomped on and killed by a very fat leg.     One of my favorite games ever, it's simple, yes, but the replay value since it's a roguelike game is enormous. I do hope this developer continue to bring games like that to us.

    The best rouge-like game period. Hundreds of hours worth of gameplay for $15. This game is a steal and an absolute must buy for any gamer. Do not pass this game up. Warning: Insanely addictive.

    It has been years since I was so pleasantly surprised by how good a game can be. I was a fan of wrath of the lamb, but this game just takes that and absolutely perfects upon it.

    Everything about this game is amazing. The soundtrack is incredible, the artwork music and gameplay are oozing with originality (something that the gaming industry lacks these days).     My only qualm is that you can't get more than 2 rows of hearts anymore, I guess that is a balance decision but personally one I don't feel was necessary. Other than that, every single change makes perfect sense though.

    There is so much content that I don't think there is a single game in the history of gaming that can possibly top this in terms of the price you pay for the game compared to how much replay value you can get.

    And would you believe that there are no microtransactions in this day an age!? Woah, what a concept!

    This game rules, plain and simple, I generally hate most games these days but this one shines forth strongly amidst a sea of mediocre games that came out in the last few years as a truly bright spot and incredibly well done game.    … Expand

    One of the most re-playable and entertaining games of the last 10 years. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a challenge when playing. It's also extremely fun to find the most OP builds and break the game.

    Elegant, beautiful, dark, funny, gory and simple. This game feels like a dungeon explorer without any treasure taking. It's like an arcade in your home, something is new each time, you don't know what to expect. There are no default monsters that you progressively get better at killing by levelling up.     iin the world there are two types of games the first been bad then ok then so fantastic your eyes melt. this is the third type of game. the origonal was amazing but just not amazing enough. this has packed so much content into it (including hard mode for all of the isaac veterens. i have only put 5-6 hours into the game but i think its worth a gander even without playin the origanal

    I had never played the original Binding of Isaac before but had always heard great things about it. When I saw this pop up on Steam I decided to give it shot, and I'm glad I did. I love rouge-lite games (FTL and Rogue Legacy come to mind) and this is right up there with the best I've ever played. It's difficult but rewards patience and is never too hard. When I first started playing I didn't know what to expect, and wasn't blown away by anything it had to offer right off the bat. I can't explain it though, I couldn't stop playing. It felt kind of like Civ (Just...one...more...run...) and I couldn't put it down without at least improving a little on my previous run. Even has local co-op and I've been playing with my girlfriend who loves it too, even if she is bad for my longevity. Great game, tons of fun, and it's never the same thing twice. Would recommend to anyone who likes rouge-lite games, or any game you wanna pick up and play in short sessions.… Expand

The story is the same, but more items and monsters (including bosses) ensures that this game is not just a re-skinned copy of the original    It's back.     Amazing and infinite game with many secrets. It will always have you coming back for more to unlock more things and have more fun. The soundtrack gives a deep, dark atmosphere to the game that only improves it. Flawless pixel art. Randomly generated gameplay, forever. It's fun and great, 10/10

The vast item pool, random dungeons, challenges etc. make sure that there is almost infinite game play in this.

    A minor complaint is that the pixel graphics chosen for Rebirth is not a good fit. This is because many things in the game, e.g. tears, are dynamically scaled in size. This leads to inconsistent pixel resolution on various elements on screen, which causes a graphical mess. Going with pixel graphics is fine, in my opinion, but then they should have made sure that everything is in a consistent resolution.

    Bottom line: this is a clear 10/10 for me. Totally addictive.    … Expand

    If you like the original, buy this one. This is the best version of Isaac that runs on 60 fps all the time, visuals are amazing, gameplay is even more amazing. Best game of the year 10/10.

    A+. I love it and play at work on breaks. My 12yo loves it and started his own saves. My 9yo lurks constantly but my wife thinks it's too freaky. She's right.
    Well worth the $10 or so on Steam.

    played the original and was a big fan, this game improved pretty much everything. The graphics are improved, and bugs were much nonexistent. Totally lived up to the hype in my opinion

    I only have an hour ingame so far and i ahve to say. SO far from what i can tell it's just an imroved version of the old one. Really exciting cool new items, the game runs really smoothly, and all the new mobs are interesting and challenging. Loving it so far.

    Being an avid Binding of Isaac fan, and having played the original game far longer than any human being ever should to keep his or her sanity, I was initially skeptical of this release. Why in the world would I pay fifteen dollars for a game that I already owned? Yet within the first hour of playing, I was completely hooked, unable to break from the screen in my conquest to discover asBeing an avid Binding of Isaac fan, and having played the original game far longer than any human being ever should to keep his or her sanity, I was initially skeptical of this release. Why in the world would I pay fifteen dollars for a game that I already owned? Yet within the first hour of playing, I was completely hooked, unable to break from the screen in my conquest to discover as many new items as I could. But just because a game is addicting doesn't mean it's perfect. So what are my thoughts? Let's go through them one by one, starting with the negative.

    My most major complaint is that of the larger rooms. Although it's a great concept, it was not exercised in the way I had hoped. The overhead view moves along with Isaac's every turn, making enemies hard to hid and creating a nauseating feeling. This could easily be patched, but as it is, the larger rooms are something I dead solely because of the headache I always seem to get while clearing them. Apart from the room issue, there are also a couple graphical and audio issues that make the game ever so slightly frustrating. The minimap shown on the screen is smaller and harder to read than the original, making it less useful than I would have hoped. In addition, the sound effects can get repetitive, and some are outright annoying (try picking up brimstone and your ears will be bleeding profusely by the end of the level). However, most of these are minor, and not worth passing this game over.
    As for the positive aspects of the game, there are more than enough. The graphical style is sure to cause controversy with some, but I happen to find it a vast improvement over the simplistic, rushed-looking style of the original. The frame rate has vastly improved as well, with the 60fps being extremely manageable even with the slowest computers. Of course, there are many more items, most being exciting and game-changing in a way that is good without being overpowered. Some have complained that this version is much easier than the original (which I might even agree with), but rest assured the game is still extremely difficult, with the option of a hard mode enabled so that those hardcore gamers who desire their game's difficulty to be on a Dark Souls level will have nothing to fear.
    So here's what I've gotten from my several hours of gameplay accumulated: The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is an extremely satisfying re-imagining of the previous game. It's got more than enough to keep an old player interested, and will absolutely entice new players looking for a rouge-like adventure that's actually fun to die in. It's a cleaner, more balanced version of the original, with enough to set it apart as its own game without completely abandoning the level of fun that made the first so great. It's more balanced, more bizarre, and ultimately a rewarding purchase that I recommend with full support.    … Expand

    A fantastic successor to the original. The overall gameplay is much smoother and there's greater variation in the rooms and encounters. Items also pair in more interesting ways, and more items can combine their effects.

    Took all the great things about the original and added another layer of interesting enemies, items and characters. A beautiful experience that I'm looking forward to dumping another 500 hours into.

    Holy f*ck! 10 McMillens out of 10. Hardcore action-rouge-like everyone should play, even if he played original. It is challenging, it is entertaining and good-looking. Worth buying.

One of the very best games for me has been Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. It cost me a measly $15 dollars, and has rewarded me with about 50 hours of entertainment.     It's like the original, but better: more content and a faster and prettier game engine. It's got dark humor that millennials and the Internet generation will grok. If you like dark humor, shmup, roguelike, bullet hell, lowbrow humor, and difficult progression, this game might be right for you.

    Binding of Isaac :Rebirth

    One of my personal favorite games the original was really interesting and new to me and now a new refined version of the original 60 frames more balanced bosses and enemy's with retro new look heavy Zelda Inspired dungeons in it with the addition of even more content from the already monumental Items pool creating new things to do for the veteran Isaac players.

    I played the original version for years, and the revamped version just keeps getting better and better, as they have added the Afterbirth DLC today. This is a great game.

THERE ARE MOUSE CONTROLS(just go to libraries/documents/my games/binding of Isaac rebirth, open options, and set mouse control=1). I have played the original and thought it was the best game ever. After Rebirth came out, I was so hooked into it I didn't even play vanilla(or really anything else) for a long time. I can't even play vanilla anymore since it's so bad aesthetically and lacking in items compared to rebirth. This will be one of the best indie and/or rogue-like game of the century, at least in my opinion.… Expand

    This game is the typical rouguelike with the addition of unlockable characters, items, and more storyline to keep you involved and addicted! It is challenging for new players but slowly becomes easier as you learn all aspects of the game! It is great game and great addition to your library definitely buy!

    This game is practically flawless. Great NES-style pixel graphics, over 300 hours of replay value at least, a full roster of 10 characters (and a secret character) and controller support! He starts to hallucinate that monsters are attempting to kill him and he shoots his own sorrowful tears at the beasts of his nightmares. He starts to think his own mother is trying to kill him but that is far from the truth and he shoots tears at his own mother in his hellish nightmare.     A game you should pick up if you`re a fan of the original, if you are curious, if you enjoy roguelike elements and challenge, or if you think jokes about child abuse and abortions are funny.

    Hardcore purists will have a few complaints compared to the original game, with a few tweaks and design changes not necessarily being perfect but for the most part everything has been improved. The frame rate, the controls, controller support, local co-op, a bigger item bank, more characters, more levels, more enemies, more bosses. It`s essentially a big expansion pack that irons out some of the technical issues the first game had while tweaking a few balance issues, for better or worse. Not quite a sequel, it wouldn`t be a crime to skip the first game and go directly to this one as the definitive edition of the Isaac experience.

    If you`ve exhausted the first game, this one will feel almost but not quite new, with some familiar elements mingling with all new sights and threats that bring back the sense of mystery and discovery again.

    I can safely call this and the original two of my favourite games of all time, despite the fits of rage they`ve given me, and I`d recommend them both to anyone who enjoys games, period.    … Expand

Una banda sonora maravillosa.     In The Binding of Isaac Rebirth you clean room by room, collect bonuses, find hidden places and shops, and then defeat the boss and jump into the next door in the floor. A new level begins and it gets harder and harder. You do so a few times before meeting his mother, then Satan himself or someone else.

    The Binding of Isaac is challenging, really difficult. The farther you get, the easier it is to die and then you have to start from the very beginning. But there are many items which help you to become stronger. So many that I even used the Isaac Wiki to get the full understanding of every item and situation in the game (it really helps!). One item teaches Isaac to jump (finally!), other causes tears or enemies to explode and hurt everyone around. You can upgrade your max HP (Hearts), the devil will sometimes reward you with the power of the dark side (wings and other strong abilities for some of your hearts). The style of play often changes radically in the middle of the race. You just scribbled tears in different directions, hardly finishing even the smallest creep and then you suddenly get a power-up that changes your whole gameplay and you kill even the hardest boss without any problems. But the thing is, it can be the other way round, too! It is also always interesting to see how every item affects Isaac, because every item changes his appearance, so each time he looks different: he acquires tumors, horns or a bloody grin, pulls mom's bra on his head or... something else.
    Failure is a part of the process. Play, die, start again, play, die, again. But every time we get something new (achievements open new items), so you do not want to stop completely.

    Rebirth added a lot of new enemies, bosses, items and secrets if you compare it with the original game. And this is good! Edmund McMillen and his colleagues made an excellent job. A game full of the most horrible fears, bitter tears of childhood and exciting ideas.

    You can also play it with you friend locally. But it’s not the local multiplayer you’d expect. Instead of a full second hero your partner takes control of a little Ghost accompanying Isaac. It can't go through doors or pick up items, it can only help to do more dmg. I would like more, although it is not clear how anything else would fit into the current mechanics.

    So all in all this game is really fantastic! - 10/10!

    Макмиллен и Nicalis, как говорится, из хорошей игры сделали идеальную, и данный ремейк на самом деле действительно ощущается новой игрой (и даже можно понять многих людей, которые в своё время были недовольны этим ремейком), ведь она не только обрела абсолютно новый (и на мой взгляд - просто потрясающий) визуальный стиль, но и сменила движок, а также приобрела массу нового контента, который является ключевым для игры подобного жанра. Удивительно, что для того, чтобы "осовременить" визуальный стиль и сделать его более дорогим и стильным (простите за тавтологию), нужно сделать его в формате пиксель-арта. В этом вся прелесть игровой инди-индустрии 21 века.
    Про саму же игру можно сказать многое, но основные эмоции я уже описал в короткой рецензии на оригинал: игра представляет собой эталонный рогалик (а точнее, rogue-like), создавая для игрока в каждом прохождении уникальный опыт, который не может повториться из-за огромного количества контента и желания добиться победы любой ценой, даже при неудачном стечении обстоятельств и полном невезении. По моим ощущениям, ремейк стал немного проще, тем самым став более дружелюбным для среднестатистического игрока вроде меня. Тем не менее, и уникальных достижений и челленджей здесь настолько много, что и любители хардкора могут застрять в этой игре очень надолго. Также пару слов хотел написать о очень важной для меня теме - о саундтреке. Безусловно, оригинальный саундтрек Дэнни Барановски был очень атмосферным, даже в некотором смысле таинственным, ethereal так сказать, но и саундтрек от Ridiculon мне показался очень подходящим, цепляющим за нужные ниточки. Музыка стала более густой, намного более индустриальной, создающее правильное настроение для игры в подобную игру, и что самое важное - весь этот индастриал и дарк эмбиент не перестаёт надоедать.    … Expand

    This has to be one of the games i've played most and i'm still kinda bad at it.
    Seems simple on the surface but has unfathomable depths to it.
    Items descriptions are cryptic at best sometimes.
    Strong barrier to entry but once you're in, you can't get out.

    It is not clunky, the game play is very smooth. It just takes getting used to, as with most games. The impatience of some of these reviewers baffles me.
    Overall, really incredible game. The only "bad" thing is your character tends to get stuck on a sticky pixel jutting out of the edge of rocks when you try to strafe around them. Such a tiny thing though. I can't think of any problems with the game. Thousand hours in and still loving it so I'd say a 10 is justified.    … Expand

    This game introduced me to the roguelike genre. It has so much content, secrets, combinations of items. The progress in this game is so satisfying. At the beginning you struggle to get to the 1st boss, then to beat him, etc. and after dozens of hours its just bread and butter to you. 10/10

    I love the original flash game and although it has a lot of bugs and flaws I still play it very often, that being said this game is sooo much more and sooo much better! it added a lot of new items, bosses, floors, final bosses, characters, bug fixes, etc, etc.

    It is a long game with a lot of content, like a ton of content that you unlock over time. At first, it can all become overwhelming, all the different enemies and items. You don't know what they do, but you will learn all that in the course of the game.     The replayability and builds that you make every single run of this game is literally so fun, and the genre is all about this. So its one of the masterpieces of its genre. The items that changes your character's look is literally the cherry on top.

    Recommend?: yes, this is the GOAT of roguelikes and the genre defining game. There is so much depth and nuance to your decision making and build choice. The characters feel unique and fun/challenging. Play this game.

    This was the first game that i got on steam and to the day i still play it. The game is in my opinion the best roguelike title to the date, it tremendously improves the firts game but keeps the style and playability of it.

    I have been waiting a while for the sequel with high expectations and folks it meets them all. Better graphics, new items, new enemies, tons of challenges, etc...... they outdid themselves with this. The price is fantastic too, I would have easily paid double for this! I have unlocked almost everything in the original and I am glad to see that on my first run I didn't know half of the items I had on me.

    I have not had a chance to try out the co-op yet, but I    Loved the original, loving this one even more.     So should you buy this game? In a word, yes. It’s a brilliantly designed game, that will never stop being fun. With the additions of seeds, it will allow for more of a community to build up around the game. The small flaws pale in comparison to how well made and polished every other part of the game is, and they definitely shouldn’t deter you from making the right choice.

New additions include the capability of up to 3 save files at once, being able to close the game and click continue the next time you play rather than having to finish the run on the spot, aswell as bigger rooms, more items, more enemies, re-mastered pixelated versions of the games art andGreat! The new engine allows for some pretty cool effects but the biggest upside to the new engine is the fact the game doesn't lag much now and runs at 60fps rather feeling like it's locked at 30 like the original. The original feels extremely slow and sluggish compared to Rebirth.

    The only major problem I have is the music. It isn't the original. It's new music which is nice but the new music, while some of it does sound cool and reminds me of Terraria, it doesn't feel like it goes with the game.

    People complain about the graphical changes to the game. They are much better. What people need to understand is, the creator intended the first game to be like Rebirth, to pixels and sprites and having it this way actually makes the resolution higher allowing fullscreen mode and makes characters and enemys on the screen run much more smoothly with no lag or frame loss.
    A problem reoccurred in this game, when you check the item screen in the original game it would show you a picture of the item and the name of it. But in Rebirth now they only show you a picture. I would be nice to know everything about the item on the menu screen without having to check wikipedia to know whether or not i should pick it up. Big step down.
    Although despite that point, tinted rocks being a bit darker and harder to see and 2-player mode being a bit limited i think Binding of Isaac Rebirth is the best game of 2014 and it majestically towers over its predocecer being a bigger, prettier and more enjoyable game to play.    … Expand

    They've added so much things I can't even count them all. I've gotten 6 hours into the game and I'm still finding new powerups, enemies, trinkets, items, and bosses. They've kept what I loved about the original, which is nice.

The game definitely retains its difficulty that the original had being that everything is new and randomized. Even veteran Isaac players have a ton new to experience. I played the original for 230 hours, and the first 5 I've spent with rebirth have felt completely new with every passing run. Old bosses have been retuned and reworked so that their attacks and patterns are different, while some of the new enemies and bosses have me stumped still with how their patterns work, so it is definitely a new set of challenges. There's tons of new everything in rebirth. New pills, new items, new curses, new trinkets, new room types, and the list goes on. I haven't had one run yet where I haven't found something new. All in all, Binding of Isaac Rebirth supplies the same feel the original gave, with a much vaster world and more complete feeling that the flash limitations sometimes wouldn't give. Its not perfect, but its fantastic, and well worth the time you put into it.… Expand

This game keeps enough of the old game to make it memorable and enjoyable to fans of the original, but also adds so much that if this was the first game you experienced out of the two you would find a much different game then what may have been described to you. This game is amazing and deserves the $15 asking price.

    It's amazing how many improvements have been made to the game since the original. While the game is not perfect, it's definitely one of my personal favorites. Easily one of the best remakes made in a LONG time.

    After spending hours upon hours into this game I have come to the conclusion that it quite possibly is some of the most fun I have had on Steam. Easy to pick up, hard to master; add a huge amount of content and you have The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.

If you were like me and experienced lag from time to time in the original, fear not! The game is locked at 60 FPS so you'll always get a smooth gameplay from start to finish.     I really don't have much to say it's just an amazing game, it's one of the best game I have ever played, and those little cons don't make it a bad game but a 9/10 IGN, that will keep you playing, if you like challenging RPG's    … Expand

    A great game! It can be very frustrating and sometimes unrewarding but I think it's so well thought out mechanically wise, that it grows on you quickly. I am deducting one point because of some balancing issues and the fairly high RNG factor which I am not the biggest fan of! But a must-play nonetheless.

    It has a terrifying story and at the same time very good and intriguing. The way the story mix religious aspects like the Seven Deadly Sins, Devils, and Angels are phenomenal. The soundtrack is also excellent. The gameplay is the best part, each new item you get can change completely the gameplay, so every single match on this game feels    For me, it is the best roguelike game ever.

    My favourite of the rogue-like genre, Binding of Isaac keeps you playing with new unlockables all of the time. These unlockables number in the 100's which results in hours upon hours of content.

    If you liked the original, you'll like this one 10 times more. At first glance, it seems like a short game until you realize all of the new areas you can unlock, different endings you can get, secrets you can uncover, and devastating powers you can get.

    The excellent rogue-like horror came back to life with a new engine and lots of changes. Thanks to that, the game is a little more accessible, but still you will not get anything for free. Gameplay is great, Isaac’s torture still hurts and a joy of any tiny success will please you greatly. The Binding of Isaac is recommended by eight out of ten child psychiatrists.

    Of all the remakes that were released in 2014, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is truly a born again game. What once was just a sketch, turned into a beautiful painting.
