The King of 3D fighting is back: Tekken 7 is such a great entry to the series. Gameplay-wise is brilliant, its graphics are stunning and the available roster is satisfying. One of the best fighting titles out there.

If two years is the time I had to wait to get a game with this much quality in it, so be it. TEKKEN 7 is one of the best games in the series, with an epic roster full of familiar and new characters, the best graphics in the franchise history and a dedicated and a pretty fun story mode. I'm a little disappointed by the lack of special modes such as the “Scenario Campaign” from the last game but that doesn't make the core gameplay less fun or engaging in any way. The PC port is superb and if you're a Fighting game or TEKKEN enthusiast, you should buy this game.

TEKKEN 7 is well thought-out and produced — to the level of awe. It punches the stereotype of simplistic arcade fighters right in the face, and establishes itself as the gold standard that will be difficult to unseat for quite a while.

It's hard to criticize Tekken 7 for skimping on the offline content when the fighting and the feel for the game are this good. I applaud Harada-san and his team for sticking to the basics and believing in what they're doing, only letting their guard down to let the ridiculously embarrassing story mode slip in. It comes down to a question of Western abundance versus Japanese purism whether Tekken 7 hits the sweet spot. I know I will vouch for the latter any day over superfluous frills. Tekken 7 is the most fun and exhilarating I've had with the fighting games in years and I have pretty much played them all. Virtua Fighter 3 might be forever etched in my heart as my favorite beat 'em up but Tekken 7 is the best these days offer. There are fighting games. Then there's Tekken. The king is back.

Tekken 7 is the fighting experience that its fan base wanted it to be. The game will make you want to drop all the fireballs and fatalities and jump back to a franchise that most put on the backburner. 3D fighters have taken a backseat as the likes of Virtua Fighter and Soul Caliber have gone missing. Tekken 7 could be just the title to garner interest in bringing those games back. With little flaws in concept and execution, Tekken 7 feels like a traditional fighting game with the right amount of flash that players will want to master.

It's hard to imagine a better debut for the series on PC: Tekken 7 is a terrific fighting game with lots of fantastic characters, new mechanics and beautiful graphics.

Tekken 7 is almost perfect as a fighting game. The story is so-so, but let's be honest...it is a fighting game, does there really need to be a story? The game play and controls are practically flawless, and that is of utmost importance when you're attempting to knock out your opponent. The basic combos are simple to learn, whilst if you take the time to learn the more complex combos, they can pay off big time. The visuals are clear and crisp with some wonderful locales. Going through the images, there has been a marked improvement in visual quality since the last game in the series and the music sets the mood wonderfully. My excitement at being able to once again perform in the Iron Fist Tournament has definitely been fulfilled with Tekken 7.

No two ways about it – Tekken 7 is a success. Sure, it would be better if the campaign was longer, if it still had Fight Lab training mode and every single character that ever appeared in the series was playable; but still – base roster of 36 fighters, great performance and flawless combat mechanics make Tekken 7 more than worthy to be called an editor’s choice game. Even with the game's increased emphasis on multiplayer over single-player content, Tekken 7 remains a fun fighting game experience. The core mechanics are as tight as they've always been, and the new material adds some flair to rope in new players. The character roster is balanced between old and new fighters, with just about everyone getting some improvement to their skills. A good number of people are only interested in getting the fighters into ridiculous outfits. The PC iteration boasts a very healthy community and some nice graphical improvements over the console versions, so any gamer on the PC will be happy to have this fighting game in their grasp.

The online game is excellent, but the lack of some beloved features is very irksome. [Issue#264, p.59]

Tekken 7 is every bit as great as its over-the-top presentation suggests. The fighting is immediately gratifying, the roster impressively expansive, and there’s a fair amount to do regardless of the type of player you are. Here’s a game that takes pride in its own legacy and instead of that pride feeling unearned or overstated, Tekken 7 makes a thorough case for itself. At a time when plenty of fighters are competing for attention, it seems there’s more than enough room for the King of Iron Fist.

Tekken 7 is a sweet reward for anyone who’s been following along for more than two decades, but it could do a lot more to onboard new fans — especially considering the uneven story and lack of a strong tutorial. Still, if you want to spend the time (and look for help on YouTube), Tekken 7’s unforgettable characters and fluid fights are worth the work.

Its diverse roster is packed with a wide range of personalities and fighting styles, bolstered by a raucous attitude that begs to be taken seriously while simultaneously mocking its more peculiar whims in the process. Tekken fans will find their next favorite game--one that's the product of decade's worth of refinement. And while some of this depth will be lost or out of reach for newcomers, there's enough fun to be had outside of hardcore competition to keep players from all walks of gaming thoroughly entertained.

Tekken will always have a place among today's fighting games, but it will always be its own place, and Tekken 7 is the best embodiment of that mentality. They've made very little effort to conform to what other fighting games have taken for granted, even down to Tekken 7's use of 3D arenas where most fighters conformed to a 2D battlefield years ago. Rather than getting hit by typical fighting game tropes, Tekken 7 was able to sidestep them.

A smart, blisteringly fun experience at its core, Tekken 7’s limited singleplayer campaign and poor tutorials marr an otherwise resounding win.

Tekken 7 will satisfy Tekken fans the world over, but won’t impress anyone who hasn’t already been won over by the franchise.

Tekken 7 is a tough one to judge. The fighting’s competent, the roster’s huge, it looks and sounds good, and there’s a ton of stuff to learn. It’s also easy to pick up for beginners, and experts have access to a veritable playground of skills to show off mid-match. However, it doesn’t feel like a particularly huge leap for the series, the online’s spotty, the rage attacks and move spamming feel way too pervasive in matchmaking, and I expected more content given how long it’s taken to hit home.

Tekken 7 is a great time-killer that can hold its own against the latest installments of Guilty Gear and BlazBlue.

[Tekken 7] blows other PC fighting games away in terms of scalability. If you want to play some solid rounds of time-tested 3D fighting, you can now do so on pretty much any modern computer with even the slightest bit of gaming hardware—or you can just as easily crank it up on a mid-high machine and a 4K screen.

The game is incredible on PC, much more features than the arcade version. Im using a Qanba Obsidian stick and its perfect for this game. The game recognises all controllers without any issues. Tested 3 sticks so far, no problems. The game is deep and very rewarding to play. Have yet to find any issues with the PC version. Online is smoother than some games that have been out for a while (SFV).
Its easily the best fighting game to come out in years. Ignore the poor reviews, they clearly have not played the game or are not fighting game veterans. highly recommended to those who love fighting games!

Unfortunately over all those years I think Tekken just lost its way, and became similar to Street Fighter series. I think it had all potential to become something like Dead or Alive 5 and even much better. But it hasn't. New characters are introduced, but they are quite similar to each other, there is not much difference in their fighting styles or combos. Fighting mechanics could have been much more intelligent.
Somehow Lei Wulong is gone - a charecter with one of the most interesting fighting techniques. Movements are somewhat robotic, physics didn't advance much from T3 (it looks much better in DoA5 and in MK X), fighters hit each other with a sound of an empty can. In fact best Tekken features are those which were preserved from Tekken 3

Worst Tekken so far that I´m shocked! Updated completely honest review!

This is an updated revision for Tekken 7.I had resume it in pros and cons.

    Pros.

    - New interesting characters

    - Hi resolution characters images presentation

    - Dramatic cool intro video

Cons.(AND THERE ARE SEVERAL AND VERY BAD)

    - Irresponsable media hype, troll gamers including kids, casuals, youtubers ambassadors
motivated by free gifts and quick cash grab and flashy presentation creates for the uninformed/missinformed,
a short term illusion of a good purchase before trying out the product for real.

    - Only 3 offline modes. Story that is like a tutorial that I haven´t bother to complete
yet and a pathetic Arcade mode.Plus treasure mode is a stupid joke.

    - Treasure mode only shows a single permanent stage.

    - Outdated and crappy graphics showed in all old characters who are the majority. Pretty evident even in history mode like Nina Williams.
A white crappy glossy finish in all characters.

    - Customization icons for characters are cheesy, stupid, ridicule, hurried, limited and dull copycats of other games like the christmas suit copied directly from DOA 5 LR WHAT IS ANOTHER FIGHTING GAME THAT IS SUPERIOR IN EVERY DEPARTMENT AND OLDER THAT TEKKEN 7.

    - Ridicule number of modes, no more stuff like minigames. No beach volleyball, bowling, rpg mode, adventure mode, challenge mode, tekken dojo, not even Time Attack, survival, tag mode, combo challenge, trials, hidden featured unlockers, nothing at all like arcade fighting good games used to have, including previous Tekken releases. What a joke!

    - Several classic and important characters absent that its crazy !
    No more kangaroo,Anna Williams(sad),Baek ,Julia Chang ,Lei Wulong(sad),Mokijin(double sad),Raven,etc,etc.etc

    - Special crappy unbalanced copycat supermoves from DOA 5 LR again.( Mindless junk!)

    - Stages are mostly bland, boring, or quite silly like Kinder Gym,and Tekken 7 dev team even dare to copycat several of DOA5.LR.
(You guys have proven worthy and very innovative.SARCASM!!!)

    - Idiotic HUD icons completely irrelevant as smiles on FB. Only issue here is this supposed to be a
    videogame not a stupid chatbox.
    Happy April´s fools? Duh.

    - 5 stages to finish Arcade including the final character that isn´t even a proper boss !

    - Character moves and combos severely changed from previous games to handicap them.

    - Online issues that cannot be improved any time soon by the poor sales.

    - Online rankings removed from display controversy because casuals got sick of fighting hardcore freaks.

    - F2P feeling resembling previous game alike from the series. - Microtransactions and dlc coming ahead. Wasn´t the full expensive price for this fighting incomplete game enough? - Controversial full game price whatever your port. In conclusion I don´t like to make game reviews to depict how can companies like ruin over tittles that were classics or at least were good before, motivated by greed. But in the case of Tekken 7 I was shocked of how can a previous success is treated with so much scorn and hate that can only be traduced like a wish for the total failure and bankrupt for a years ago cool ip. It´s sad to see what Namco Bandai did to Tekken at the end but at least I hope they go away with the madness and reconsider letting it go to die in peace like it deserves.F***!
