Subject 13 as a whole is thoughtfully challenging. I can see it working really well for casual and hardcore puzzle fans alike as it intermingles timeless puzzles with original concepts. Despite the storyline having some slightly cheesy and generic moments, it was intriguing enough to keep me interested and engaged.

The narrative is interesting, the puzzles are fun to tackle, if a little too simple and yet, if there was just a lot more content and if everything was a little more polished, we would be looking at a great game heavy with recommendation, rather than a good one laden with caveats.

If you had high expectations you might be disappointed, but if you know what this title has to offer (tons of puzzles), then it might be worth your time and money.

If you like puzzle games and mysterious adventures, Subject 13 might overwhelm you.

While there are plenty of familiar puzzles to keep players occupied, Subject 13‘s mediocre plot and characterization can’t elevate the experience to the well-rounded adventure it had the potential to be.

It could be a suspenseful mystery adventure. But then the old-fashioned puzzles and weak storytelling get in the way.

An old style adventures that will captivate casual gamers but that cannot compete with the classics: Paul Cuisset signature led to higher expectations.

An average adventure game that doesn’t offend, but at the same time it doesn’t catch you. It holds together by everyday story and the main focus are purposeless puzzles without proper explanation.

A new “point and click” adventure from Flashback's creator Paul Cuisset that will disappoint old-school and hardcore fans.

Yet another game with an absolutely useless waste of a user interface.

An escape-the-room type, mouse-only, despite its release on several consoles.

You can't save. That's some crap they didn't forget to keep from consoles.

The mouse uses a maintained pressing and multiple clicking scheme, for no reason other than to be humiliated by what simplicity and elegance older games have offered.

Tutorial explains how to achieve an action, but the text disappears before you finish reading.

Doesn't matter: Restart the game so as to read again; what is explained actually doesn't work.

Nothing can be achieved with he left button.

The right button sometimes gives you 5 degrees of rotation freedom. Five. It's so tiny, so pointless, so cheap, so unimpressive... why did they even bother?

That's from the guy who made Flashback 30 years ago? Well, senility came early.
