On top of that, this game has the worst play balancing I have ever seen! People work to get the power ups and then only use the top ones because they are so drastically overpowered compared to everything else. The only people that enjoy playing this are infantile 10 year olds who like killing the same guy over and over all day in a battle that you can't win.

It is really a pity that EA has anything to do with this game. They have ruined yet another game by putting profit above gameplay. Avoid.

I want to like this game. It is by far the best looking Star Wars game I have ever seen and there is so much potential. I think the only reason this game has not gone the way of Titanfall is only because it is a Star Wars game. If DICE doesn't add a lot of new content soon for cheap the playerbase will move on.

I think the only reason this game has not gone the way of Titanfall is only because it is a Star Wars game. If DICE doesn't add a lot of new content soon for cheap the playerbase will move on.

Battlefront has a very shallow progression system. After a few hours of play all the weapons are unlocked and they have no upgrades. After a few more hours all the perks and powers are unlocked with the important ones upgraded to tier 2 which is maxed out. After that the only thing to earn experience and credits for is cosmetic changes. And now everyone is a shadow trooper or alien.

The are 11 total primary weapons. At least five there is almost no point in using because another similar weapon is better in all respects.

The rebels have no land vehicles at all. Imperials have the AT-ST which is easily killed since anyone can carry quick locking homing anti-vehicle weapons. Heck, even the sniper rifle does significant damage to the AT-ST. I do not count speeders since they are only on Endor and its hard to impact the battle when you spend most of the time avoiding obstacles.

There is effectively no matchmaking system. I have seen far more one-sided fights than close finishes.

Air vehicles sometimes make a rare contribution to the fight, but often times they just fly around the battlefield avoiding those homing missiles or fighting each other.

The game types are just pathetic. There are a bunch of modes that almost no one plays, like capture the droid/flag or control points. The only new gameplay type is Walker Assault. Imperials have to protect an AT-AT, rebels kill it. That is the only new innovative mode.

I keep trying to play this game, but I can only do an hour or so before I want to play something else.

In my opinion, this game needs another year or two of development, maybe when Episode 8 releases it'll be ready for primetime...? Standard battlefield games bring more to the table at release than this pile of garbage. Buy it, play for a few hours then request your refund, that's about all it's worth.

This game is an absolute insult to anyone who thought this game was going to be like the original battlefronts. EA has once again grabbed your cash with high valued marketing and resources in order to justify another crappy release.

The game is beautiful in its presentation and its sound is outstanding however that is all that is all the positive remarks I will make of this "game".

The game is beautiful in its presentation and its sound is outstanding however that is all that is all the positive remarks I will make of this "game".

EA Battlefront is quite simply COD with lasers. There is never no coordination between team members, random deaths occur literally moments from being spawned into a map whether it be from a random grenade or air-strafing run, poor map design with people being spawned killed and no balance between the rebels and the empire.

There is no single player to speak of, I will not be including Battlefront's "Missions, Tutorials and Horde modes' because they are not even considered value. On PC unless you sign up for "walker assault" you will not be able to join any game because there is NO ONE playing them. There are NET code issues which is keeping true to the usual EA server's which means unless your directly hooked into your modem your going to experience lag and disconnections to the servers.

The weapons are pathetic as well as its progression system. Lasers are inaccurate and impossible to predict. The better weapons in the game are locked behind a leveling wall which means new players are going to be in for a rough time for the first 8 hours or so unless they of course quit by then. The card slots where equipment and perks is completely idiotic, 9/10 of them once again are obtained through useless grinding of levels and even then must obtain credits in order to purchase them.

There is no balance within the game regarding the factions. Rebels get NO ground vehicles apart from a speeder on endor, the empire get a ATST which if is marched into a spawn zone will annihilate everyone within seconds. Aircraft within the game is also unbalanced. The rebels aircraft absolutely incinerate everything ground or air within seconds, the A-Wing is stupidly overpowered with a shield that regenerates faster then wolverine on meth.

Battlefront is an insult to gaming and once again EA has delivered a very unoriginal and thought out game. Even if Battlefront was more like Battlefield 4 it would of been a better game then what it is now, clearly EA's targeted audience for this was young children sitting on the couch with their consoles because this is not a game for even your average gamer. The DLC and season pass for this game is so uninspiring and predicted as it cost almost the entire price of the base game. Sims 4 is a clear example of where EA games is heading in the next years with its overpriced DLC and outrageous practices and Battlefront is no exception.

EA games have officially killed the sims series, killed Command and Conquer and now your just killed Star wars battlefront. Good on you ya **** wankers, hope your proud of your accomplishments. Sales of this game means nothing in comparison to how pissed off everyone is right now.

This game has great graphics, great classic star wars musics and apparently developers thought that was enough for an AAA star wars game. Terrible game mode designs ruin the very little content this game has.
Here is an example: There is a game mode in which one person plays as a powerful hero/villain, and whoever kills him, becomes the next hero. One with the most kills wins. Sounds fun, right? WRONG. Whoever thought that it was a good idea to reward only the last hit on hero, should be fired and banned from the gaming industry. It takes hundreds of bullets to take down a hero, but only last one is rewarded. You could easily be the one who damaged the hero/villain most (and yes the game keeps track of who did the most damage and shows you at the end of the game) and still, you could easily be the last person on scoreboard without any hope of winning the game.

Customization is another joke. Cosmetically, a few different faces is the only customization choice you will ever have.

As a game developer, I respect that they implemented the core mechanics well (except for hero controls in my opinion) but there is not enough content to enjoy those mechanics. Honestly designing a few maps shouldn't take that long. They could at least make an epic story mode and it would kick ass with these graphics, sounds but that was a wasted potential.

I doubt DLCs will give enough content of their worth if they think that this little content in the game is worth 60€.

To me this was a game that I was greatly anticipating and very eager to play. I participated in open beta and was willing to forgive bugs and black screen issues on my wife's pc because it was a beta.

This is the official release, and many of the bugs are still there. Primarily the black screen. The game is unplayable as all that comes up is a black screen. I was able to play mine maxed out on my rig no issues or frame rate drops. It even runs fine on my old Alienware mx14xr1 (about a 3.5yr old laptop).

The flight system is horrible, the vehicle system abysmal. For starters there is no joystick support at all what so ever, you can use an xbox controller, but this gives it a cheap port feeling. Like they didn't give a care for the PC. Then secondly the spawning in vehicles is cheap un-inmersive, and feels like a half finished game. One would be expecting to be able to go to a hangar and jump in your fighter and roll out. But none of that happens. U just spawn up in the air already in flight, only to crash to the ground shortly after from the horrible controls. This also ruins the game as well because the battle field as epic as they wanted it to seem it is hard for it to look awesome as you see tie fighters, a wings, and x wings raining down on the battle field not from being shot down but from pilots not being able to control them and just slamming to the deck.

The partner system is also disappointing and seems limiting not to mention for a battle field game the maps feel small and confined and very few players. some maps 12v12 and max is 20v20 this also seems as a limitation because of consoles. This is in no way epic and perhaps the reason for the spawn in vehicle system to make the battle field seem more crowded. This should have truly been made for the pc and watered down for the console peasants. I am hugely disappointed and have walked away from this tittle.

Again I praise origin over their refund policy as it is amazing letting us walk away from shoddy developers.
Steam has tried, but falls short on this as I feel their return policy is inferior.

I hope they fix this tittle but as it stands this tittle has no hope.

    Pros:
    - good visuals
    - fast paced action
    - laser battles are amazing
    - feels like you are in a star wars movie

    cons
    - flying is lame and boring
    - spawns are horrible
    - map feels confined and small.
    - Black screen on start up that won't let my wife even play the game
    - partner system seems limiting
    - no joystic support for flying
    - power ups, weapons, and vehicles are icons like a retro arcade video game

Hope this helps those of you that are on the fence.

Very repetitive game, I was bored within half an hour but I tried to give it a chance and played for about 8 hours without having any fun. To my surprise, Battlefront was missing game audio upon release. A terrible bug prevented me from listening to everything but menu sounds. Not only that, but I noticed graphics were quite poor compared to the beta (edges were sharp as hell), and no tweak in the settings allowed me to improve it.

Contentwise, the new maps underwhelmed me because of their tiny size and the number of available items is ridiculous. Lightsabre fights have never stood out in the Battlefront saga (not like in Jedi Academy at least), but it feels totally cheap and raw. It wouldn't have hurt to put some more effort into close combat.

I finally got my refund (after getting an error for over 30 minutes at EA's website) and could not be happier. I was already considering the possibility because of how DICE and EA deal with expansion packs, where they basically annihilate the community, split it and render new content unusable.

    Would request refund again. 0/10

    * There are only 4 maps. Yes you read that right... FOUR. Seriously, 60$ for FOUR maps.

    * All infantry feels the same. It doesn't make much of a difference to select different card customizations.

    * Most of the guns feel pretty much the same. Why make a blaster pistol that fires like an automatic machine gun?

    * The aiming mechanic is terrible. It is a giant circle and the blaster bolts can hit anywhere within it. If you are hoping for some sort of skill in your shot than too bad. It feels pretty much randomized. There isn't any recoil so its point, click, spray, and pray.

    * Most of the game modes are for close quarters, small team combat which this game really sucks at. They are traditional FPS modes like team death match and capture the flag, but because the terrible aiming and nonexistent character classes it's just boring.

    * Star fighter game controls are terrible, especially if you use a mouse. They feel very sluggish and delayed. There is no way to roll. The game will force you to orient so that the ground is below you.

FANS OF BATTLEFIELD are unlikely to enjoy this limited, cut down version with little charm when the novelty of the graphics wear off. Well.. I am here instead of playing a game I looked forward too for a long time. It just isnt good enough despite some great technology and here's why.

The engine is fantastic and personally I found it incredibly reliable with no crashes.

The problem is, there is something about this game that feels a bit like some of the same mistakes made in hardline when it comes to game play. It lacks options and it is fundamentally NOT enjoyable. EA seem to be moving away from the open game that was BF3, BC2 and BF4 where people had a lot of customisation and gratification from on going development to a very sterile and as linear an environment as one could come up with in an FPS.

Maps feel small in many cases and it almost a case of 2 groups of people charging at it other endlessly in silence as there is no chat of any kind. Not that you need to make a strategy here, there is very limited scope for anything but grenade spam.

Which is just as well because the aimbotting is back with a vengeance in multiplayer. The weapons have no spread or error so aimbotting is incredibly deadly. Grenades are incredibly powerful so almost every map feels like Metro from BF4 only with more intense grenade spam.

There is no going prone, no needed balances of classes, there are no choices to speak of and very little to differentiate you from everyone else. It feels like it doesnt want to be a game but would rather be a movie. Maps are epic looking but still they absolutely lack scope for anything tactical.

Hero characters come and go but really, no one cares, as its a token gesture. Vehicle use is very limited and almost scripted and except for certain modes virtually non existent. Those modes being almost solely about the vehicles. Not that you can do much with them.

There is no ping indications anywhere, so who knows and the matchmaking is not transparent and completely automatic so you have no real control.

Some genius also decided to design all the splash screens etc with a blazing white background. Like they are trying to damage peoples eyes. So you go from creeping about in dark hangars (occasionally) to blazing white backgrounds between games. Who has so little experience that they never played games at night. This is a schoolboys error.

I am a huge Battlefield fan so I was hoping for Battlefield in an open environment. What I got was something that feels like it was designed for consoles only. A game that should have been open and full of possibilities but someone managed to make as linear and sterile as possible. Spectacularly missed opportunity.

I wouldn't even say its a great tech demo because the game feels so limited much of the time. I would very much like to get a refund and would not regret never playing it again.

Ended up trying to use it as a doorstep. Piece of crap coulnd't even do that because the physical game is just a piece of plastic...no game disc, no manual...nothing...just a piece of paper with a download code. How can that be called a physical copy? EA spared no expenses with this one... eat **** EA!

EA only think in money and they don't care about players. They screwed up SimCity, UFCs, FIFAS and Battlefield series and now they are using "Star Wars brand" to earn a few more bucks...

A perfect game for short sessions. It’s not deep enough to convince online shooters veterans, but it will definitely win over Star Wars fans. [01/2016, p.34]

Star Wars Battlefront looks and sounds great, and with Battlefield-class gameplay could have ruled the multiplayer galaxy. Unfortunately, at best OK-level, Battlefront-class gameplay is much too shallow to last long. And this is THE one license, which really needs a single player campaign. [Dec 2015]

Any semblance of subtlety is abandoned entirely when it comes to the playable Hero and Villain characters. [Jan 2016, p.110]
