I remember when I played Battlefront on PS2. It was beautiful, cool and I could have fun with everything offline.

I'm just happy that Disney didn't leave the exclusivity of Star Wars to EA anymore.

Either that game was rushed or someone needs to be fired. I'm astonished by how empty Battlefront is. I bought it hoping for a successor to the original Battlefront serie, needless to say I was disappointed.

Disgusting piece of **** pay2win game. Lootboxes everywhere. Seriously if this is where the gaming industry is heading then i want no part in it anymore. It appears that only Indie developers are creating games without pay2win microtransactions. Now the big game companies are even implementing microtransactions in buy-to-play and singleplayer games...

While I find the FPS bits OK, the vehicle handling is terrible - scooters, X-wings, etc. handle in a very imprecise way, leaving very much to be desired. I played it for over an hour and already found myself quite bored. I think it's tried to be everything to everyone and end up being not very good at everything. Overall, I think there's not enough "weight" to either the story or the gameplay. It's OK and relatively fun in small doses, but didn't hold my attention long, and made me long for more "weighty" FPS such as Far Cry 3 or 4. This game is mainly for fans of star wars, they just appreciate it.
The planets look realistic, and insanely beautiful, music is amazing. you feel like in the movie!
But the atmosphere is the only good. laser guns shoot very strange and you can't kill more than two, and even one kill is hard. You'll die often even if you are good at playing shooters. I games mode, heroes vs villains.

I games mode, heroes vs villains. This mode is fun! I love to play for Darth Vader, he's insanely cool and dangerous, I feel all-powerful Sith. The basic modes I did not like, I was not nice to play them. Moreover, here again all the pumping, and to get to the good weapons need a lot of time.
Company is not! This is the main disadvantage. In the game star wars needs to be company. But we have only training. And there are videos that are short but beautiful. I would like a company with the same beautiful rollers, but it is not. There are only boring multiplayer.

And the worst is that EA even didn’t wait a year to say (hey we know we made mistakes with the actual BATTLEFRONT so the next year BATTLEFRONT 2 will have all the things that the 1 didn't have, so **** you!!, you will have to pay us a complete extra game with all the **** dlc so you can almost enjoy the complete Star Wars "experience", because being honest we are going to release a BATTLEFRONT 3 with all the things that the 1 and the 2 didn't had)

Unfortunately, that wears off, and what you have left is gameplay that feels more akin to a phone app. Heroes vs Villains was the only mode I genuinely enjoyed, because it felt like it had some depth to it, a sort of rock paper scissors style, if you will. DLC has cut its already small player base in half by making its desperately needed content only available to people who paid out the ass for this crap.

All EA had to do was take the greatly loved concepts of the earlier Battlefronts and slap their beautiful atmosphere on top of it, and I guarantee this review I'm writing would've been much, much higher.

Ok.. so before the DLC, I was happy. I would rate it 8/10.. Now, the game becomes a pay to play, pay extra to win, so now it's a firm 1/10.

In the new DLC, they introduce overpowered guns like EE4, cards like Disruption which instantly overheat your gun, and shock grenade that locks you on the ground for some 2 seconds even if you spam R key... And then the game starts to look so ugly.

Since the day before yesterday, ppl start to jump into the enemy, use disruption card, and then rape the fking whole group of ppl up with EE4. It is not unusual for one guy to kill some 10 ppl with these overpowered sh*ts. EE4 alone is so overpowered in close combat already, 5 shoot burst with so much damage, it's two shot kill, instant kill! it rapes EE3 down to the ground, up to the sky, and then back to the ground again. Now everyone who purchased the DLC is switching to EE4, and I only managed to kill those ppl a few times using EE3.

This is so bad. This is pay to play, pay extra to win. Fk off EA, Fk off Dice, Fk off Start War Battlefront. I played Dice games since BC2, and nvr lose my faith even playing that unfinished BF4 ffs. But today, I'm done with this. I've never played an FPS that was so linear like Star Wars Battlefront, you have at best 10h of content before having explored everything. But the saddest part is there is no customer support, bugs have been in the game for months now, and no patch since despite the community harassing EA and DICE for fixes. A few of those bugs are event game breaking, the "HsVV" gamemode has been broken for two months as of the day of this review. There is also a lack of attention for PC players, you can't actually choose what map or gamemode you want to play, you'll get put back into a playlist of modes that you'll have to play, the game is riddled with hackers that have been reported countless times, but EA who is responsible for actions against hackers has taken none, want a taste? This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game should be called Star Wars Battlefield, not Star Wars Battlefront. I do not consider this game part of the Battlefront series. And even as a "Battlefield" game, it is lacking.

In short, I am very disappointed in the game.

We all spent a lot of money on this game for so little replay value and overall content. I am also disgusted that we all have to fork out even more money to acquire content that should have been included in the initial release.

No campaign, no space battles, lack of maps, stupid "star cards" system, get very boring very quickly (We have done about 38 hours with 4 people and we are all already sick of it), etc (The list goes on).

The most annoying thing of all is that I could not, and cannot, refund it.

I cannot say that it is all bad, the graphics and sound mechanics are unquestionably beautiful. They are just stunning and you can see a lot of effort was put in.

But overall, I give this game 1/10 as it is just not what we wanted, they could have done so much better and to be frank I think they are just being greedy in the whole money aspect.

I gave EA/DICE a chance on this one. I don't splurge 60$ for a video game often, but I loved the Battlefront games growing up, so I had to get this one. Unfortunately, I don't have a PlayStation or XBox, so I had to get it for PC via Origin. After hours of downloading, I open it up, look around a little, and my first thought was "is this it?". Unfortunately, I don't have a PlayStation or XBox, so I had to get it for PC via Origin. After hours of downloading, I open it up, look around a little, and my first thought was "is this it?". Yes, it was. Unlike the original Battlefront games, there is little single player "instant action" type game modes. Only two, both being a team deathmatch of sorts that gets old after a couple plays. I get that the main feature of this game is its online play, so I checked that out. It took forever to load, and several disconnects from EA servers (which are terrible by the way), but I finally got in and explored the game modes. The number of maps is limited; only four planets with different maps on each one. Most of the game modes are forgettable - mostly they boil down to spawn, kill, die, repeat. I don't see any aspect of skill improvement; most of it's just luck in where you spawn and managing to shoot straight.

The specifics are a drag as well. The guns, which vary based on rate of fire, range, and damage, are unlocked via leveling up, which is only done by playing multiplayer. Likewise, skins for your rebel or imperial character are unlocked the same way. They aren't exciting, just different faces, hair styles, and eventually species/armor changes such as Twi'leks and shadowtroopers. The season path is simply ridiculous. It's 50 more bucks and you get some average guns and more maps, making almost a pay-to-win FPS.

A little more specifics: power ups. Instead of hopping in an X-Wing that is sitting around, you pick up a glowing power up thing, hold a button, and magically appear in the air, flying the X-Wing (just an example of the debilitation of gameplay).

What EA has done here is sold a bare-bones game and added expensive DLC, knowing that people will buy it because of TFA hype and the necessity for further enjoyment in an otherwise dull game. I guess they put all their resources into graphics and audio and simply forgot that there's a pretty important aspect called gameplay (the graphics, to be fair, are pretty incredible, and the audio is reminiscent of a real Star Wars battle).

I'm going to sound cliché here, but EA had beautiful references to work with, even if they were a decade old. Those games were unique, ahead of their time, and provided endless hours of fun in a variety of ways. Instead, it feels like a COD-esque game with a dash of Star Wars, with rushed fundamentals thrown together in time to hit shelves at optimal time and profit.

This game is a hollow shell, of what the Star Wars: Battlefront series once was. It has completely disregard the single player campaign central to the series before. They have also cut down on most of the game modes, and number of Hero characters you can play (Luke, Leia, Han, Vader, etc.) In stead we have a generic Shooter with relativity small map sizes, Similar to a Call of Duty game, with a shiny Star Wars paint job to attract fans. The little single player they offer is lack luster and has 0 replayability. They have taken out most of the loved game modes from the previous two battlefront games. Including the much loved galactic conquest mode. They have also Left the clone wars out, instead focusing only on the Rebellion and Empire. All in all this is a Horrid Reboot that has about as much content as a Expensive bit of DLC. A better purchase, even with the servers offline, is the other two battlefront games. You would still be getting more for your money with those.

The pc version of the game is dead. The available games you can find range from 1 to 2, and usually they are not typically filled. Consoles versions are apparently populated but buying it on the pc is just a waste of money at this point... Not that it wasnt to begin with.

The maps are looking big but there not, you can only play in a tiny part of them, also invisible walls and a LOT of jumping because you can not jump one time to get over a little rock, no you need like 10 times.
Also the spawn system is stupid, you never know where you spawn, you can not pick your spawn, you have no map, just a little stupid radar icon.
This game is the worst dice has made and they made battlefield 2142...

A horrible experience. 90% of my deaths don't make sense. There's no proper kill cam to show me how I died to ease this confusion. Balance is very bad, which is a trait EA's past few shooters have. Matchmaking is the worst. COD does matchmaking better. It's always one team getting butt raped by the other. The fairness just doesn't seem to be there. There are nearly no fair matches. IA horrible experience. 90% of my deaths don't make sense. What else? SPAWNING. GOOD GOD BRO. SERIOUSLY. How hard is it to have a decent spawn system? It's like they don't even care. Half of my deaths in many games are from spawning right in front of an enemy.

Gameplay is horrific. I feel embarrassed for buying this game and I am VERY thankful I did not buy the expansion pack. That's some money I'm happy I have saved.

I want my money back.

Although the game looks great and you really feel like you are in Star Wars. That soon wears off as you realise that the initial excitement is all there is to it.

Also there´s no campaign. The multi player mode is a mess as players spawn all over the place making strategy and team work pointless. The survival mode is too easy on normal level and too hard on hard level (I didn't even try master level). You cannot save your game progress which puts a lot of pressure on your playing through 15 very hard rounds of battle. Especially if you get stuck in a wall (which is easier than you might think). There no way out but suicide which sucks hard when the game is this tight and every life matters.

I had looked forward to trying out different vehicles but now I just avoid them. The most fun is the speed bikes on Endor but you only get one (yes one!) training mission with them. They could have been a whole game within a game if players could have raced against each other.

The aim on walkers is completely off meaning you have to fire well above your target to hit it. Same with other vehicles and ground based guns. The x-wings are not fun to fly or dog fight in and targeting anything on the ground is impossible without crashing.

Of course not all is bad. There are some great things in this game but it does not matter how great and cool Luke Skywalker is when the empire has these lame Jumping StormTroopers with automatic shields and flying kits. Worse are the invisible Shadow troopers. Now because of realism i'm sure, my gun overheats quickly - fair enough - but at the same time Shadow Troopers take 5-10 shots to the face at close range before dying which means you have to hold the trigger down. Very disappointing that im subject to realism but the empire is not!

But what I really miss is a campaign with lots of iconic scenery that you can play through in your own while enjoying the whole atmosphere and vibe of say Hoth.

Last but not least. The game is ridiculous expensive in itself and with more expansions to come EA is asking for even more money later. Had it been worth it I might even have considered.

But oh boy. What a great missed opportunity! Although the game does look great :)

That's the extent of the pros of Battlefront. I got it on sale for $30 and it still felt like a ripoff. Offline options are limited to premade "missions" that all feel the same and don't offer much replayability, although they do provide a good opportunity to sort of "preview" each weapon in the game to see which one suits you best once you unlock it. The multiplayer is entertaining if you can manage to get put into a game with balanced teams and good ping; Battlefront doesn't let you choose servers, and even if you leave a game due to poor connection or imbalance, it will frequently put you into the same server upon searching over and over again. Starting weapons completely suck compared to higher-level monsters such as the EE-3 or DL-44, the latter of which you can conveniently unlock if you pay for it (though it has received a nerf since it's starting overpoweredness, it is still quite powerful). Luckily, the first two guns you unlock, the DLT-19 and DH-17, are both very powerful weapons in their own right. The delay on unlocking many game-changing cards makes the lower levels feel like you're a serious underdog, and can be satisfying if you outwit and outperform all those level 50 Shadow Troopers and Twi'leks with their fancy gear.

Overall, if all you're looking for is a Star Wars simulator with great graphics, wait for this to go on sale. Personally, I'd say this game is worth around $15 to $20. The $60 asking price is like someone selling you a can of your favorite drink for $60 because it has a fancy can cover. Sure, the can cover is fancy and looks nice, but is that really worth a whole sixty dollars?

As in the sound, the sight, the overall atmospheric feel of the game exudes that warm, fuzzy nostalgic feeling.............but that just comes crashing down after a few hours of playing. This game is a hollow shell that a bunch of us chumps paid full price for. It doesn't even feel like half a game. Maybe my sense of disappointment stems from the fact that I may have set my expectations to high, but even if I had expected to be disappointed so I could POSSIBLY be surprised by Star Wars Battlefront, I would still be disappointed by how hollow and insubstantial an experience this game was.

As of when i'm writing this review now, at 5pm AEST on the 5th of March, this game is nearly dead, I can't even find a game in any of the more populated servers anymore.

The game is beautiful in its presentation and its sound is outstanding however that is all that is all the positive remarks I will make of this "game".

EA Battlefront is quite simply COD with lasers. There is never no coordination between team members, random deaths occur literally moments from being spawned into a map whether it be from a random grenade or air-strafing run, poor map design with people being spawned killed and no balance between the rebels and the empire.

There is no single player to speak of, I will not be including Battlefront's "Missions, Tutorials and Horde modes' because they are not even considered value. On PC unless you sign up for "walker assault" you will not be able to join any game because there is NO ONE playing them. There are NET code issues which is keeping true to the usual EA server's which means unless your directly hooked into your modem your going to experience lag and disconnections to the servers.

The weapons are pathetic as well as its progression system. Lasers are inaccurate and impossible to predict. The better weapons in the game are locked behind a leveling wall which means new players are going to be in for a rough time for the first 8 hours or so unless they of course quit by then. The card slots where equipment and perks is completely idiotic, 9/10 of them once again are obtained through useless grinding of levels and even then must obtain credits in order to purchase them.

There is no balance within the game regarding the factions. Rebels get NO ground vehicles apart from a speeder on endor, the empire get a ATST which if is marched into a spawn zone will annihilate everyone within seconds. Aircraft within the game is also unbalanced. The rebels aircraft absolutely incinerate everything ground or air within seconds, the A-Wing is stupidly overpowered with a shield that regenerates faster then wolverine on meth.

Battlefront is an insult to gaming and once again EA has delivered a very unoriginal and thought out game. Even if Battlefront was more like Battlefield 4 it would of been a better game then what it is now, clearly EA's targeted audience for this was young children sitting on the couch with their consoles because this is not a game for even your average gamer. The DLC and season pass for this game is so uninspiring and predicted as it cost almost the entire price of the base game. Sims 4 is a clear example of where EA games is heading in the next years with its overpriced DLC and outrageous practices and Battlefront is no exception.

EA games have officially killed the sims series, killed Command and Conquer and now your just killed Star wars battlefront. Good on you ya **** wankers, hope your proud of your accomplishments. Sales of this game means nothing in comparison to how pissed off everyone is right now.

I think the only reason this game has not gone the way of Titanfall is only because it is a Star Wars game. If DICE doesn't add a lot of new content soon for cheap the playerbase will move on.

Battlefront has a very shallow progression system. After a few hours of play all the weapons are unlocked and they have no upgrades. After a few more hours all the perks and powers are unlocked with the important ones upgraded to tier 2 which is maxed out. After that the only thing to earn experience and credits for is cosmetic changes. And now everyone is a shadow trooper or alien.

The are 11 total primary weapons. At least five there is almost no point in using because another similar weapon is better in all respects.

The rebels have no land vehicles at all. Imperials have the AT-ST which is easily killed since anyone can carry quick locking homing anti-vehicle weapons. Heck, even the sniper rifle does significant damage to the AT-ST. I do not count speeders since they are only on Endor and its hard to impact the battle when you spend most of the time avoiding obstacles.

There is effectively no matchmaking system. I have seen far more one-sided fights than close finishes.

Air vehicles sometimes make a rare contribution to the fight, but often times they just fly around the battlefield avoiding those homing missiles or fighting each other.

The game types are just pathetic. There are a bunch of modes that almost no one plays, like capture the droid/flag or control points. The only new gameplay type is Walker Assault. Imperials have to protect an AT-AT, rebels kill it. That is the only new innovative mode.

I keep trying to play this game, but I can only do an hour or so before I want to play something else.

But the funny thing is that exactly a Game like Battlefront EA ( It is not nearly worth the Battlefront Name) shows us how Publisher and Producers are looking down at us. The fact that they really thought that just good Graphics and nice sound is all we need.

The Game is way to easy, it is repetitive (only 4-6 maps, and not even for every Gamemode).
My experience so far was playing the Beta, being bored after 3-4 hours. Actually thinking they will add severel things at launch, and 20 hours after launch getting refunds.

Instead of making Space battles or even the fact that whole two factions are missing their work power
focused on the Diarama Mode or the very boring survival Coop Mode. (With an god awful AI. Try standing on an AT-ST and your are safe.)

I cant belive there are people defending this garbage of a Game. Out there are hundreds of way better Games for less. And that EA STILL hasnt learned from Games like NFS, Battlefield or Titanfall (yeah still exists) just shows us that they really dont care and just throw one dissapointing Game after another at us.
And people still pre-order and buy that stuff.

Well DICE. Learn from that please. Good Graphics and nostalgic Moments arent enough for a good Game.

So if you are ever matched, you'll have to wait forever because the game can't allow players to play a 12 player max map with 6 players, or even put bots so players can wait playing the actual game.

Private matches have been added recently, but you don't earn points from them. Great, useless for those who are still leveling and getting new stuff.

Server browser seems to be forbidden by EA for some odd reason.

Game is also overpriced, and price doesn't justify the content AT ALL. Overall gameplay meta is oversimplified. Makes the game "cod-like", gun and run. Yes the game does offer strategic moments, but those are fews and in-between all the mindless running and gunning.

Such a waste dev rights were given to EA. I'm sure Devs themselves worked hard, but the publisher screwed up all the potential. To be honest, If they remade battlefront 2 with updated online, I'd be way happier.

Multiplayer is a complete mess. More often than not I quit because finding a match in Australia is almost impossible. What a waste of money on my part, and a wasted opportunity for EA and DICE. In one word it's PATHETIC.

What? THAT'S IT!? Batlefront 2 had space battles and the Clone Wars and oh yeah, a single player mode. This game just reaks of EA. I knew this game was going to be bad, so I'm not really that surprised.

But credits due were credits due. The graphics are great. I will admit that... but oh wait, graphics don't matter to me. No pity points from me!

    -Terrible voice actors for heroes.
-Utter Chaos. You will join a game with your friends as you stumble upon a giant warzone with grenades flying everywhere, explosions left and right, jump pack users flying about...who made this? Michael Bay?
-I don't care what you say. It takes WAY Too long to level up in this game
-Diorama mode should be renamed Diarrhea mode as it contributes to NOTHING whatsoever
    -Galactic Conquest is gone.
-Don't even try to melee...you'll easily die.
    -The enemy radar sucks.
-A thermal exploder is just a rip off of a bouncing betty from Call of Duty: World at War(An actual good FPS)
    -Not enough maps.
-The spawn areas are god awful as you could either spawn on top of an enemy or somewhere in the middle of a firefight.

As everyone says, the game is beautiful, I mean gorgeous! It runs super smooth and has a great interface. The models and map development are great, very atmospheric. That is about all I can say for this game in positive light.

The matchmaking is horrible but once you get into a game finally you realize how shallow this game is.
I will just list the cons:
No teamwork-Your team just runs around in a chaotic swarm.
No spawn staging.-You can respawn as soon as you die so you spawn alone and far from the objective.
No attainable objectives.-The objectives are almost always a 2 minute run from your spawn location.
No territory control/fronts.-Kill a few enemies to your front, great! They've respawned behind you.
No team balancing.-Whichever team has the most DL-44s wins, and there is no team management.
Broken weapons.-Whichever team has the most DL-44s wins!
Huge lack of content for the price.-A dozen guns and handful of maps and 5 "Missions"...but emojis...Yay!
There is no badass factor.-Never feel like you actually contributed to winning, unless you have a DL-44!

Play Planetside 2 if you want a huge, awesome, badass Massively Multiplayer FPS. It's free!

Brink was better than Battlefront. That's the worst insult I can think of.

    Thanks.

First, they implemented stupid COD-like automatic server joining and not searching like in BF's. That ends with constant connections to servers where your ping is not the best, and you have nothing to do about it (you can't even see your ping on scores screen). But, worst thing

But, worst thing in whole game are bowcaster and DL-44 weapons. First you play up to level 25 and 32 only to unlock this because without them you are helpless.
After 20 hours and unlocking this game become stupid battlefield where EVERYBODY use only those 2 weapons.

Those 2 weapons are so much overpowered that using anything else make you sitting duck.
In combination with enemy respawning behind your back all the time game become pointless.

ADVICE: If you forget all of this and get the game do not play "blast". It's loaded with bowcaster noobs and game is no fun. Play something with tactics included like "cargo" or "drop zone" where game start to become playable.

With some tweaks this game could easy be score 8!

I tried really, really hard to like it. I loved BF 2. Let's start with the easy part that everyone can agree on: The graphics are absolutely stunning. The look of the game nails Star Wars. The limited number of maps means endless repetition unless you're willing to have content held hostage behind an artificially created paywall masquerading as an optional DLC. The fact that a season pass doesn't include all of the DLC is a little shady, at best. Not a big fan of the vehicle systems, but they're passable. I'm sure space battles might be included at some point (again, meaning a critical gameplay element would be locked behind pay to play).

All of this might be somewhat excusable (I stress the word somewhat here) if there was a meaningful singleplayer experience to allow you to break the monotony of multiplayer matchmaking, but alas, this element (for whatever reason) was left out completely, and DICE never seemed to care about players' concerns about it. When a large enough player base demands it, you'd think they'd make it a bigger focus. Alas, singleplayer is relegated to a grind for credits and points that you'll use in multiplayer, but with such limited focus on the singleplayer experience to incentivize it, becomes little more than a chore, which is a crying shame, because BF2 had an exceptional singleplayer experience. While this may not be a big deal to a lot of folks now, in five years it may be if Battlefront's popularity wanes and the multiplayer experience becomes dead in the water.

The matchmaking system also doesn't seem to work very well; I had trouble finding games (you'd think with the game still in a relatively new state, there'd be no trouble finding a game). This was an occasional issue, but enough to frustrate me into shutting it down, since I couldn't transition into a meaningful single player experience.

Overall, the game lacks any meaningful staying power, suffers from poor gameplay, lacks diversity in game modes, and has an extremely pricey barrier to entry. I couldn't get a refund, because I tried to stick it out, which is a crying shame, because what I do now is fire up a singleplayer game of Battlefront 2.

First the game could be better. It feels pretty shallow and overly simplified.
For instance if you compare it to the Battlefield series, those games had a lot more going for them.
More interesting weapons, vehicles, parts of the environment could be destroyed, and mainly better games that allowed some meaningful strategy, tactics, etc.
It's getting harder and harder to find games, people must be bored with it already (less then two months after opening).

Why I give it a negative because EA still refuses to do any sort of realistic anti-cheat control.
Currently after playing for one or two hours I run into at least two to three obvious cheats.
Losers that can see through walls and other obstructions, using ainbots, etc.
Recently cheaters coded a new exploit where they can shoot super burst shots that will kill your AT-ST in a single shot.

For EA/DICE security is an afterthought.
If EA really wants to catch and curtail the cheating they would have a full time anti-cheat team of their own instead of some off the shelf easily beat 3rd party system.
They could do real time server monitoring, and have a serious client side effort that could catch cheaters within an hour or two.

ALL of EA/DICE games have the same problem, but they choose to ignore it and pretend it doesn't happen instead.

I skipped most EA/DICE games since BC2, now I'm sorry I gave them another chance and I'm burned again.
    Don't waste your time.

It is SO beautiful that I literally cried a bit. Just that kept me happy for about 20 minutes. And then it raped me. It raped me so hard that I cried again. My manly tears where not even manly anymore. I was crying like a little girl.

And here is why battlefront is evil. Star Wars Battlefront by EA OFFERS NOTHING. And the moment i realised that I dived into a gameplay that offered nothing I was shocked. I'm not gonna go through everything that was bad cause it makes me feel very uncomfortable to talk about how badly I was raped, but I'll give you one thing that annoyed me a lot (apart from the price).

    Abwechslung: (Minimum an Karten)

    Auto Team Balance: (Nicht vorhanden)

A multiplayer game without a working server browser. Expect to spend long periods of time trying to get into games, only to realise you're playing with people on the other side of the planet. Not good enough for this type of game.

I don't have much to add that hasn't already been said, but yeah, its...pretty bad. Its got exactly two good things going for it, the visuals are drop dead gorgeous and the sound design is absolutely spot-on. Its too bad they forgot to actually build, you know, a *game*.

The gameplay's horrendous and repetitive, the spawns are hilariously bad, and I think I derive more entertainment out

The gameplay's horrendous and repetitive, the spawns are hilariously bad, and I think I derive more entertainment out of playing Daikatana. So yeah, its bad, but really pretty. OK to watch someone play on Youtube for a bit, but when you actually play this game, you get surprised by just how...impressively...boring it is. I honestly haven't seen a game like this before - where so much obvious time and effort has been spent on visuals and sound design, and so very little has been spent on making an actul fun playing experience. I just have no analog to describe it with. Still, 2/10 for great graphics and sound design, any dev who worked on this should be proud of their work.

The game designers should probably consider alternate employment.

I love Star Wars, and have played most of the starwars games. This one is pretty much flat and one-dimensional. It feels like bland generic high-school programming effort, with the "Star Wars" moniker attached. In a word: awful. Spend your money elsewhere.

Half cocked game that fell flat on its face. Nothing of note. Fighters underutilized, map choice abhorrently small for such an expensive game. Not worth even $40 and the DLC cost is a riot. Thanks for taking all of our hopes and smashing them back into our faces with this game.

unfortunately i buy the box so no refunds.
nice graphics but the game is totally crap! Old concept of the game (look like battelfield with star wars environment)
the game is full of cheaters, aimbots and hackers ( dice say that is a glitch? my bottom!) the fairfight engine work well as the game: a total crap ( 1 ban every 100 cheaters) no single play story, so no chances to play alone

don't buy it! I regret it!

A perfect game for short sessions. It’s not deep enough to convince online shooters veterans, but it will definitely win over Star Wars fans. [01/2016, p.34]

Star Wars Battlefront looks and sounds great, and with Battlefield-class gameplay could have ruled the multiplayer galaxy. Unfortunately, at best OK-level, Battlefront-class gameplay is much too shallow to last long. And this is THE one license, which really needs a single player campaign. [Dec 2015]

Any semblance of subtlety is abandoned entirely when it comes to the playable Hero and Villain characters. [Jan 2016, p.110]
