    i didnt play it when it came out but as of now, its fine? i dont hate the game and i dont mind starting it up and playing it for an hour or two

    Star Wars Battlefront II is an awesome game. Have really good game mechanics and perfect game mods. The minus of this game is that there is no Mace Windu, crates and this stuff is sometimes very annoying. The plus of this game is the graphics, gameplay mechanics, heroes and villains, except for Rey's skin. Since when did she have something in common with Skywalker.     Very good game, if you love star wars franchise and simply good, if you want to chill out. Game is similar to Battlefield. I liked Battlefront more actually.

    I bought this game 1 year after release and I think this was the best time to play. No microtransactions, many additional stuff (maps/characters) - even without buying a DLC - and full servers.
    One Problem is the hardcore grind to get more powerfull.

    2 - Horrible HUD options. I like to play games with as little HUD as possible however my only option is to turn all the HUD to off. That means I miss all the tutorial messages etc and can't see interaction prompts etc which is very annoying. It is such a basic thing to have some basic HUD options to tailor to the players taste for immersion that many games get wrong and it needs to stop.    … Expand

It's a solid multiplayer shooter with a serviceable campaign and can deliver a few of dozens of hours of fun.

    The shooting part of the core gameplay is finely tuned so that every shot has an impact without obscuring your view or hindering your movement, which plays nicely into how fast-paced the game is. Lightsaber combat, on the other hand, feels floaty and lacks response, but that allows attacks to feel lightning-fast and easy to execute. Movement overall feels rather nice, while movement abilities, be it dodges, jetpacks, or droideka roll, are all fun and responsive to use. Gameplay differs drastically between characters, which obviously messes up the balance, but allows for diverse playstyles which fit different players or different moods. The loadout system expands the customization of how you play even further, and it never felt like making a huge gap between players. Transports are of varied quality, but they don't feel jarring or unintuitive to use. Maps are varied, featuring setpieces that emulate the Star Wars feels with uncanny accuracy, but there are a couple of weird choke-points and questionably long and convoluted corridors that might disrupt the pace of the match sometimes.

    As with the maps, the game overall looks and sounds surprisingly close to the movies, providing constant fanservice excitement. Outdoor environments are especially stunning in their realism achieved with the science-fiction art of photogrammetry.

    Campain is a pleasant surprise as well, providing a superficial but engaging story from a rare perspective in Star Wars canon. Characters are nothing to write home about, but they can be rather compelling at times. And the weakest spot, as per usual, is the mission and level design having trouble adapting the gameplay structure designed for multiplayer into a solo experience.

    While not being anything exceptional, Battlefront 2 is a great game that knows what it has to do and executes it very confidently. After cleaning up bugs and minimizing microtransactions and their impact on the game, DICE proved that if not tainted with the egregious monetization model, their shooters can be fun, indeed.    … Expand

    7.5/10 • Yoda Yoda. I'm no Star Wars fan but this is a pretty good game. It's very impressive visually and the gameplay is good for the most part. The campaign is quite short and the story is a little fragmented but it's fun to play.

    Fun and versatile game that brings Star Wars Flair with it. If you Like the Star wars universe and Shooters Like Battlefield you will love it. Looks good even though the engine feels a bit stiff and chunky in some Situations. The very different modi bring variety and ist easy to find a Match within 1min even 4 years after release.

Etwas anderes das ich grossartig finde, wären die Unterschiedlichen Spielmodi, die es gibt. Meine drei Favoriten wären hier Helden VS Schurken, Totale Vorherrschaft und der Koop Modus. Es gibt aber auch einen Spielmodi, bei dem es möglich ist mit unterschiedlichen Raumfahrzeugen im Weltall zu fliegen. Die Steuerung des Spieles auf dem PC ist auch super und anpassbar. Die Figuren wirken real und es fühlt sich an, als würde man selbst in der Welt anwesend sein. So lässt sich Darth Maul oder Count Dooku genauso spielen, wie wir sie aus den Filmen kennen. Die einen Charaktere sind dabei eher agil, andere wiederum eher Tanks. Aber das Beste an dem Spiel finde ich, dass es sich so real anfühlt. Man lässt seine Umgebung komplett ausser Acht und taucht dabei in die Welt von Star Wars ein. Das ist EA tatsächlich gut gelungen.

    NEGATIVES: Leider fühlte sich Battlefront II zu Beginn überhaupt nicht so an. So war die Grafik 3x so schlecht, wie jetzt und die Menüs mit den Charakteren sahen auch komplett anders aus. EA machte auch den wohl dümmsten Fehler aller Zeiten. So war das Spiel zu Beginn nur Pay to Win. Die Karten konnten nur mühselig freigeschaltet werden (daher auch die schlechte User Bewertung). Dies ist aber Vergangenheit und mittlerweile glänzt das Spiel auch so gut, wie nie zuvor. Dennoch gibt es auch heute noch Dinge, die mir nicht passen wollen. So finde ich es komisch, dass Charaktere, die kauern so schnell laufen können, wie kleine Spinnen. Schade finde ich auch, dass es keine privaten Lobbys gibt. Ich würde gerne Mal ein VS mit meinen Freunden zocken.

    FAZIT: Battlefront II ist ein grossartiges Spiel. Jeden Monat kommen neue Inhalte ins Spiel. Das sind nicht zu viele Updates, aber auch nicht zu wenige (siehe Fortnite). Ich würde das Spiel jedem empfehlen, der gerne Shooter Spiele spielt oder ein tolles Star Wars Feeling erleben möchte. Ich weiss nicht, wie die Zukunft des Spiels aussehen wird, aber ich denke das dauert noch eine Weile, bis das Spiel eingestellt wird (Meine Spielstunden betragen 430h).     Very fun multiplayer game. Almost all maps and heroes are good. Game modes are good too except Starfighter assault, very boring game mode imo. I played 500+ hours in this game! This game is overhated imo

DICE often do underrated campaigns, but given the backlash against this game and the focus on multiplayer I was apprehensive about it. The campaign is done really well, with decent level design and storytelling. I haven't played the multiplayer so I won't comment on that, but it's a shame that the game's campaign was overshadowed by terrible monetisation practices in the multiplayer.… Expand

    Ставлю оценку только за тематику, сама игра конечно максимально разочаровала + не смог пройти даже сюжетку. На 11й миссии просто вылетает игра без всяких на то причин.
    итого, я просто люблю SW, но это унылое говно

    Но и без минусов никуда: Долгий и плохой матчмейкинг, у меня 36 уровень а играю я с 200-ми; долгая прокачка; все игроки играют в основном галактическую битву, в другие режимы сложно попасть. Есть ещё минусы, но я выделил только самые явные для себя.
    Очень жалко что такая игра плохо начала, кто знает, чтобы было с ней сейчас, если бы в неё не ввели адский донат.    … Expand

You can go to youtube and watch the campaign with the story there is no reason to buy the game for that.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Not only is this game a buggy mess, but it forces you to play as a fascist. After the first mission I was done with the game. EA please stop making Star Wars games you are no good at them. This and Fallen Order are terrible and I am not even going to try Squadrons, even though it's free right now on PS+. I used to love the old Battlefront games so I figured that I would like this, but no it's just a cash grab pay to win advertisement for the online pvp. Clearly made by people who don't understand Star Wars or games for that matter. When playing a game you should instantly like the character you play as otherwise you will try to kill them over and over again until you decide to delete the entire thing. That's two EA Star Wars games I've deleted after a great disappointment. I really hope one day we will get good SW games again, but know it won't be from EA.… Expand

    OMG! This is 2021 and game still so buggy! It's good that I got it for free.
    Even a great picture cannot save this game.
    The controls are terrible. As if the developer suddenly forgot how to make games on the PC.

    I really loved this game, so much! :) I got it for Christmas from my parents in 2020, for 19EURO, the DVD Box version. The DICE made a very great job, down with the hat, my appreciation! :) Awesome, incredible graphics, great atmosphera, the music, the sounds and the story, everything was great! :) Thank you so much for this game! :)

    Heroes are nonexistant/worthless. There is a hero battle mode but the heroes are underpowered (unless you're blocking constantly, two storm troopers can take you down in about 10 seconds), have no speed like in the old games (so you can't close the distance either) and overall are very poorly balanced.

    The survival mode and battles are okay, but are very focused around the secondary skill and the pickups from around the world. And for some reason all troops have the ability to heal yet heroes can't, another reason heroes are underpowered.

    Shields have become all but worthless, as compared to the old ps2 games, you can no longer shoot through your shield, and in fact was made even worse because when you have a personal shield up you can't shoot, use skills or even melee other enemies whereas they can run up and melee you to death.

    Honestly this has turned the ps2 version of star wars battlefront 1/2 into simply another Call of Duty, first person run-and-gun.

    I probably missed a bunch of other things too but these were the most prominent things that came to mind when thinking about it.

    Do not buy this game, honestly its not even worth downloading a free demo.    … Expand

I am solo player and the campaign is a little bit short. I have tried the multiplayer mode, but that is not my    Star Wars Battlefront II is one of the best SW games.

    It‘s great that ea show reaction ! Even with p2w it was fun but unfair . Now it got a new hype because its free on pc . It‘s not a Main shoter with its heros and battelpoints but its very fun . What a shamw That ea destroied the Hype from the game with p2w back in 2017 !

    Yes, when the Game came out it was a pile of **** but now it's decent. The grahpics are phenomenal, there are no Lootboxes anymore, and its fun for a few hours. When it's on sale on steam or free on Epic Games, you should definitely buy it.

    Great game for the price ($0 on Epic). Love the fact that there's no loot crates or any of the pay2win nonsense that resulted in all the low reviews on launch. Too bad it wasn't like that at launch, but it's great fun now, especially progressing on multiplayer (usually in co-op mode). Haven't played PvP, but that's not really my thing... too many aimbots.

    I missed the whole P2W debacle when the game come out.
    Any how I played it maybe 40 hours, but the problem is there are too many hacks in the PVP games.
    Their pitiful anticheat can't keep up with it.
    You can always play the 4 PVE at least and you level super fast.

    Now that the drama about the loot boxes is long gone, people should accept that this is the best SW multiplayer game around. The locations, characters, vehicles and weapons are great representation of the movies and even the short singleplayer campaign is fun! There are still some heroes missing and other details could be improved, but nevertheless it's a great SW game!

    I have played about 5 hours and this game is sublime. The campaign will keep you glued to your keyboard and mouse. The Multiplayer is fun, overall it's a complete package. Well worth your money. Don't doubt the haters get it now.

Heroes are so inexpensive that even after dieing they can just play the same one again - there is no limit.
    - starting the game with no characters leveled is a horribly punishing experience. The base classes and those that aren't leveled up are at a severe disadvantage. So have fun several dozen hours in game just leveling up things enough to be playable.    … Expand

    Picked the Celebration version of this game up on EPIC for free, as it was one of their promotional games. And honestly, I am so glad I didn't actually pay for this game. This version of the game comes with everything that used to be P2W and all the (non-achievement related) cosmetics unlocked for free (rendering the in-game currency you earn utterly pointless, and thankfully meaning noPicked the Celebration version of this game up on EPIC for free, as it was one of their promotional games. And honestly, I am so glad I didn't actually pay for this game. This version of the game comes with everything that used to be P2W and all the (non-achievement related) cosmetics unlocked for free (rendering the in-game currency you earn utterly pointless, and thankfully meaning no macro-transactions/gambling boxes).

    PROS
    DICE have captured the look and feel of the Star Wars universe perfectly, as they did with the first Battlefront. The sound of the blaster fire, the hum and hiss of the lightsabers, even the stormtrooper's boots slamming into the metal flooring... all perfect.

    CONS
    After a few hours play it becomes apparent that this game is a thin Star Wars veneer slapped over a mediocre, at best average, shooter. Even with all the predatory macro-transactions/gambling loot boxes removed, it is painfully clear that the game was designed from the ground up around those principles.

    The starting guns are super weak (especially the Specialist, who is an absolute chore to level as their starting kit is arguably the worst in the game. 2+ headshots required to kill someone with their sniper rifle, made worse with the spam dodging) which is further compounded by not having access to any of the better weapons or loadout cards that can give characters a significant boost to their damage and/or survivability. Plenty of other games (like COD for example) have the better equipment and guns locked behind levels, but in those games I never felt that the disadvantage for not having access to those weapons was so marked and extreme. And this is even more pronounced when you see people with fully kitted out hero/villain characters.

    The maps and spawns are cluttered, especially on the smaller game modes. And the bigger maps are often a maze-like convoluted mess. Combined with the above issues, as a starting player, you had better get used to long and confusing runs back to the action (unless you are fortunate enough to be able to spawn on a squad-mate who isn't engaged in combat). Which unfortunately can result in you spending 2-3 minutes running back only to appear through a door near the capture point and get one-shot by an enemy hero/villain, or just a normal trooper with the better gear from a side spawn that you had no idea was there.

    Ultimately I have played this game for about 8 hours now to give it a good shot, and will probably play some more (as my friends also picked it up), but I cannot imagine they will want to play it for more than a single evening before returning to other games. And I cannot see this game still taking up install space in a weeks time. Definitely do NOT buy it, unless it is heavily discounted and you happen to be a real fan of the Star Wars universe. The only reason it got a three score was because it was free. If I had actually paid for this game, then the score would definitely be lower.

    TL:DR - A beautiful game that captured the look and feel of the Star Wars universe incredibly well.
    But after a few hours the novelty wears off and you get to see it for what it is. A middling to below average shooter. A convoluted mess of a game, and despite the predatory rubbish having been removed it's obvious that it was built on a foundation of micro-transactions, gambling and P2W.    … Expand

    100% worth it for free on Epic games store this week. It plays well, even on my 5 year old PC with dated graphics card so clearly they've optimised this game well graphically. And there's plenty here for star wars fans, from blasters to rocket launchers, piloting tie fighters to leaping around as kylo ren killing everyone in his path. It's a blast, definitely worth a play through. 10/10 for value

    Full of bugs, but worse yet, a bottomless well of money trap. Players should ban all games using these dirty tactics, especially micro transactions. Otherwise we will always be treated like milk cows.

    Enough said about microtransactions.

    Let´s just talk about bland, generic gameplay. There is no deep at all, but just to put a lot of people randomly shooting each other with no interesting mechanics whatsoever.

    Generic game with pretty graphics but short-worked in every sense, uses the "Star Wars" theme as a bait to attract buyers to a otherwise very forgettable game.

    Battlefront 2 has really improved, they removed all micro-transactions, and its a really good game. Multiplayer and Co-Op is good and the story is great. Only downside of this game is that it gets repetitive and they should add more or switch up the characters a little.

    Ever since they made their fixes and updates, this game has really shined a new light and should get a second chance. In the beginning, this game was just awful. But that's because EA rushed it out. Now that Dice was able to make important changes to it, adding even free dlcs it has turned into my favorite star wars game.     Actually a really cool game now, no pay to win, just a really cool game. Only downside is that there's no new content added.

    Technically marvelous game. Fun multiplayer but boring singleplayer. Buy it if only a Star Wars fan. Otherwise, just buy Battlefield instead

    No se dejen llevar por las puntuaciones ya lo arreglaron y ahora es un muy buen juego con mucho contenido y prácticamente el mejor juego multijugador de Star Wars se los recomiendo mucho.

    Mixed feelings here. On the one hand, it's a very well done narration of wars in Star Wars, I love the variability of content. But sadly the multiplayer works not so good and the campaign is way too short.

The only reason I keep playing is that a lot of people are still playing it not many people are playing the classic version of Star Wars Battlefront 2. I don't know what was going through Disney's tiny little **** mouse brain when they signed the rights to Star wars away like the devs from star wars battlefront 2 classics were making The 3RD GAME and then they just signed the rights away like bruh how **** mental are you. The first 2 games from the battlefront series were great even in 2020 there still great and the game out in the mid-2000s. When star wars battlefront 1 and 2 came out they had less **** content than a game made in **** 2005 like bruh. Honestly, Disney should just give the rights to star wars to the same devs that made star wars battlefront 1 and 2 classics.     It´s the same with EA all the time. Very good Graphics and animations, good gameplay but the worst game modes. The older Battlefronts 1-2 were and even still are better than this. Don´t buy it if you don´t like to play multiplayer because as a single player you won´t find any good game modes that keep you having fun more than maybe 5 hours of instant action.

    Apart from the great Starfighter Assault mode Battlefront II is a mess of conflicting ideas, uneven mechanics and of course questionable monetization practices. DICE is facing long months of salvaging the game and the studio’s good name. [01/2018, p.32]

    Even the tinsel of the Star Wars world cannot hide the silly story and the boring singleplayer gameplay, or the necessity to accumulate the credits in the crate hunting in multiplayer. Battlefront II pleases as a genuine shooter in the beautiful scenery, but EA should deserve a slap into the face for their mad progression system.
