    1 - This is a fantasy scfi game with aliens etc so it is not as bad as if this was a "realistic" battlefield game etc but I can still not take the game even remotely serious when the main character is a female special forces commander that barks orders to everyone around her.     2 - Horrible HUD options. I like to play games with as little HUD as possible however my only option is to turn all the HUD to off. That means I miss all the tutorial messages etc and can't see interaction prompts etc which is very annoying. It is such a basic thing to have some basic HUD options to tailor to the players taste for immersion that many games get wrong and it needs to stop.    … Expand

    This game is not good... It never has been. Micro transactions or not this game is unbalanced and messy, dice has no direction and lack inspiration. They clearly never played their own game as the only people who can endure this torture are children or star wars obsessed adults as only they can overlook the glaring faults.     Ставлю оценку только за тематику, сама игра конечно максимально разочаровала + не смог пройти даже сюжетку. На 11й миссии просто вылетает игра без всяких на то причин.
    итого, я просто люблю SW, но это унылое говно

    Single player campaign only takes 4 hours to finish it is very short and extremely linear and the enemy bots are so dumb they always come in front of your face very few times they use cover. You can go to youtube and watch the campaign with the story there is no reason to buy the game for that.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Not only is this game a buggy mess, but it forces you to play as a fascist. After the first mission I was done with the game. EA please stop making Star Wars games you are no good at them. This and Fallen Order are terrible and I am not even going to try Squadrons, even though it's free right now on PS+. I used to love the old Battlefront games so I figured that I would like this, but no it's just a cash grab pay to win advertisement for the online pvp. Clearly made by people who don't understand Star Wars or games for that matter. When playing a game you should instantly like the character you play as otherwise you will try to kill them over and over again until you decide to delete the entire thing. That's two EA Star Wars games I've deleted after a great disappointment. I really hope one day we will get good SW games again, but know it won't be from EA.… Expand

    OMG! This is 2021 and game still so buggy! It's good that I got it for free.
    Even a great picture cannot save this game.
    The controls are terrible. As if the developer suddenly forgot how to make games on the PC.

    Heroes are nonexistant/worthless. There is a hero battle mode but the heroes are underpowered (unless you're blocking constantly, two storm troopers can take you down in about 10 seconds), have no speed like in the old games (so you can't close the distance either) and overall are very poorly balanced.

    The survival mode and battles are okay, but are very focused around the secondary skill and the pickups from around the world. And for some reason all troops have the ability to heal yet heroes can't, another reason heroes are underpowered.

    Shields have become all but worthless, as compared to the old ps2 games, you can no longer shoot through your shield, and in fact was made even worse because when you have a personal shield up you can't shoot, use skills or even melee other enemies whereas they can run up and melee you to death.

    Honestly this has turned the ps2 version of star wars battlefront 1/2 into simply another Call of Duty, first person run-and-gun.

    I probably missed a bunch of other things too but these were the most prominent things that came to mind when thinking about it.

    Do not buy this game, honestly its not even worth downloading a free demo.    … Expand

    Beautiful game, but without all the content of the online in the offline. I don't like playing against cheaters. I like to play against the computer, I can choose the difficulty I want. There is no difficulty online.
    They filled the game with content to try to renew the contract with Disney.

    - Balance in large modes is completely ruined by heroes. About a minute into any match the heroes will be up and will be for the rest of the match. They're so horribly balanced that you are totally screwed if you're anything but another hero - there is no defense nor offense. This leads to heroes snowballing entire games, and a good hero player can effectively tear around the map with impunity. Heroes are so inexpensive that even after dieing they can just play the same one again - there is no limit.
    - starting the game with no characters leveled is a horribly punishing experience. The base classes and those that aren't leveled up are at a severe disadvantage. So have fun several dozen hours in game just leveling up things enough to be playable.    … Expand

    Picked the Celebration version of this game up on EPIC for free, as it was one of their promotional games. And honestly, I am so glad I didn't actually pay for this game. This version of the game comes with everything that used to be P2W and all the (non-achievement related) cosmetics unlocked for free (rendering the in-game currency you earn utterly pointless, and thankfully meaning noPicked the Celebration version of this game up on EPIC for free, as it was one of their promotional games. And honestly, I am so glad I didn't actually pay for this game. This version of the game comes with everything that used to be P2W and all the (non-achievement related) cosmetics unlocked for free (rendering the in-game currency you earn utterly pointless, and thankfully meaning no macro-transactions/gambling boxes).

    PROS
    DICE have captured the look and feel of the Star Wars universe perfectly, as they did with the first Battlefront. The sound of the blaster fire, the hum and hiss of the lightsabers, even the stormtrooper's boots slamming into the metal flooring... all perfect.

    CONS
    After a few hours play it becomes apparent that this game is a thin Star Wars veneer slapped over a mediocre, at best average, shooter. Even with all the predatory macro-transactions/gambling loot boxes removed, it is painfully clear that the game was designed from the ground up around those principles.

    The starting guns are super weak (especially the Specialist, who is an absolute chore to level as their starting kit is arguably the worst in the game. 2+ headshots required to kill someone with their sniper rifle, made worse with the spam dodging) which is further compounded by not having access to any of the better weapons or loadout cards that can give characters a significant boost to their damage and/or survivability. Plenty of other games (like COD for example) have the better equipment and guns locked behind levels, but in those games I never felt that the disadvantage for not having access to those weapons was so marked and extreme. And this is even more pronounced when you see people with fully kitted out hero/villain characters.

    The maps and spawns are cluttered, especially on the smaller game modes. And the bigger maps are often a maze-like convoluted mess. Combined with the above issues, as a starting player, you had better get used to long and confusing runs back to the action (unless you are fortunate enough to be able to spawn on a squad-mate who isn't engaged in combat). Which unfortunately can result in you spending 2-3 minutes running back only to appear through a door near the capture point and get one-shot by an enemy hero/villain, or just a normal trooper with the better gear from a side spawn that you had no idea was there.

    Ultimately I have played this game for about 8 hours now to give it a good shot, and will probably play some more (as my friends also picked it up), but I cannot imagine they will want to play it for more than a single evening before returning to other games. And I cannot see this game still taking up install space in a weeks time. Definitely do NOT buy it, unless it is heavily discounted and you happen to be a real fan of the Star Wars universe. The only reason it got a three score was because it was free. If I had actually paid for this game, then the score would definitely be lower.

    TL:DR - A beautiful game that captured the look and feel of the Star Wars universe incredibly well.
    But after a few hours the novelty wears off and you get to see it for what it is. A middling to below average shooter. A convoluted mess of a game, and despite the predatory rubbish having been removed it's obvious that it was built on a foundation of micro-transactions, gambling and P2W.    … Expand

    100% worth it for free on Epic games store this week. It plays well, even on my 5 year old PC with dated graphics card so clearly they've optimised this game well graphically. And there's plenty here for star wars fans, from blasters to rocket launchers, piloting tie fighters to leaping around as kylo ren killing everyone in his path. It's a blast, definitely worth a play through. 10/10 for value

AI is dumb, enemies will spawn in your back all the time; they can't take cover and will bug EACH TIME (They loop their animation to get into cover).     The stability of the game since going f2p on the Epic store is unbelievable.
    You cannot have a multiplayer that is down this often. it's unacceptable.

    Imagine paying money for this just to have the servers be offline every time you get a few hours to play. Apalling.

    А сейчас будет много негатива, я предупредил. Мне кажется когда создавали данный продукт у разработчик был девиз "мы хуй положим на оптимизацию, ведь в это говнище никто не будет играть". Более недоделанного проекта я не встречал Тот же киберпанк не вызывал у меня столько негатива сколько этот проект, просто 0 оптимизация 3 года прошло а как говно оптимизация была, так гавном и осталось.А сейчас будет много негатива, я предупредил.     Enough said about microtransactions.

    Let´s just talk about bland, generic gameplay. There is no deep at all, but just to put a lot of people randomly shooting each other with no interesting mechanics whatsoever.

    Generic game with pretty graphics but short-worked in every sense, uses the "Star Wars" theme as a bait to attract buyers to a otherwise very forgettable game.

    It´s the same with EA all the time. Very good Graphics and animations, good gameplay but the worst game modes. The older Battlefronts 1-2 were and even still are better than this. Don´t buy it if you don´t like to play multiplayer because as a single player you won´t find any good game modes that keep you having fun more than maybe 5 hours of instant action.

Melee heroes are difficult and unwieldy with their forced movement animations, gunplay is often interrupted because of the recharging weapon system instead of conventional ammo, battles are most often confined and formulaic with a few strategies leading to victory each time. The classes still do not reflect the classic battlefront feel and are largely unbalanced with certain classes being rendered obsolete on certain maps while others are nearly unstoppable. Heroes too are unbalanced as some heroes have a plethora of ranged abilities that prevent enemies from getting close enough to attack effectively, whereas others have abilities that are largely useless in most situations. Map design is uninspired and even inaccurate at times with the majority of maps being three-lane just like Call of Duty's maps. This leaves little room for creativity and style and forces a type of gameplay that often makes multiplayer boring and repetitive. Star cards are an interesting concept and might have been something good in this mess of a game, unfortunately, the star card system was poorly implemented and is largely centered around small boosts to certain abilities or the replacement of old abilities with new ones. This would have been an excellent idea if the player was not limited to three star cards and ability replacement cards did not count towards this total. In that way, the player would have much more freedom to tailor their experience and play style to their liking which would create new and interesting ways of fighting. Some classes and heroes have appearances which can be unlocked with in game currency earned through leveling up and completing milestones. Through milestones, players can also unlock new weapons for each of the four main classes. These weapons allow for some customization and variation, though not by much seeing as it takes just as long to kill an enemy with a rapid-fire weapon as it does with a triple-burst or single-fire. Sadly, the other two classes have no or very little choices for appearances and no weapon choices. This makes two out of the six classes seem disjointed, not to mention each special class is greatly varied which makes playing different factions a unique experience, but also makes for a sharp learning curve. The Campaign is bare bones and poorly written with predictable stories around every corner and a meaningless narrative that was never actually finished. Overall, this game is fun if you like Star Wars, multiplayer, and maybe a bit of customization, but if you can't overlook its plethora of flaws, you might want to give this one a pass.… Expand

    Sadly even after two years this game is not good enough the story is boring the gameplay becomes stale after one or two hours and the multilayer still needs a lot of improvements. The graphics were Ok but weren't good enough to carry the game for me. In the end the game is a pretty dull experience and I wouldnt recommend it.

    Combar sucks. Weapons feel like toys. Shooting something has noo feedback. There's huge amount of clutter on the screen along with flashy animations.

    the perk system is rage inducing. They give HUGE and OBVIOUS advantage to the owner. Some of them buff "spacial classes" to the point where they SLAUGHTER whole groups of enemies without giving any chance of fighting back.

    Guys, even for 10$ game ain't worth it. If you want some really good gunshooting mechanic... Just play Destiny 2 or even Fortnite.    … Expand

    People said they removed micro-transactions, but they only removed P2W ones. You can still buy cosmetics with crystals which are 1USD/100...
    The progression system is unbalanced still, because it was designed to be P2W.
    Matchmaking is bad, it will put you in a match just about to end so you have to wait another couple minutes for the next match/to load.

    Grind was much longer before? I cant imagine anything longer than there is now. Not for new players, who get stuck with default s**tgear and are thrown to fight veteran players. What feels like throwing pebbles even if you headshot a lot, and get fired back with a freaking battleship's cannon. Irritating, frustrating, demotivating - those words best describe new players' experience in Battlefront 2.

    Also the 40player battles are unoptimised and some maps are unneccesarily heavy on the CPU.

    Also boring, uninspired campaign that feels to long when you play it. And after you realise how bad MP is for new players, you realise why the campaign was that long. It just contributes to the 24h game time you have to ask for refund.

    It have its moments tho, and being mix of battlefield and SW universe deserves some extra points.    … Expand

MP is just a mock to make you feel you are participating great battles, but when you turn off all those fancy "behind map" effects it turns to be one big hollow with few players on the map. So i went to play campaign and only prologue was enjoyable., but simple beyond measure. Battle of Endor was boring, only at landing pad there was some action, but again it was extremely hard to die there, only possible by leaving Iden in the middle of the pad for 30 sec. Dauntless - was annoying as hell, and almost unplayable with mouse. i was literally crashing on every turn on some space ships. No mention that it took me dozen of deaths to land at rebel spaceship since game give you no clue what to do in the hangar instead of just pressing button like in original Battlefront... The Observatory made me quit - indoctrinated spec ops guy just walks along Jedi, and speak like old friends .. was that a joke DiCE? Game spent more time on downloading than me on playing it.… Expand

Now lastly, they brought up Square Enix's view of the popularity of their games, Square Enix's view of the popularity of their games is factually that Final Fantasy is wildly successful overseas and in Japan where their target audience is since Square Enix is in Japan. Dragon Quest wasn't as successful in the West overall as it was in the East for awhile. That's perfectly fine and it's a fact their fans know that as well since Japan is their target audience and localization takes time. Dragon Quest xi especially took awhile and it is considered by Square Enix but more specifically Dragon Quest fans to be a masterpiece and is another thing especially more recently Square Enix is positively known for. That's a fact. there may have been a time where they weren't AS well liked but as a company they were always generally well liked by their fans, the public and haven't ever "fallen out of public favor" and that's a fact. They've always been a good company and that's fact, despite the mistakes they've made. Lastly was that Kingdom Hearts was especially popular in Japan but especially as well in the West and that the series is a pretty considerable success. The retards named "tropers" attempted to say that it's a series that has a "Kudzu Plot" and that that apparently makes the fans not like the series even though the facts point to the opposite and that complex story or not, it's a well liked series. And Kingdom Hearts doesn't have a "Kudzu plot" either you retards and that's fact, Tetsuya Nomura made the decision to make the most complex story he is able and make it work, not Square Enix. It's a pretty complex story but it has no "Kudzu Plot" and that's fact. Also, trope-speak is retarded cancer, it's like listening to a retard after he injects heroin into his balls. Square Enix though as well as the Bravely Default Team were overwhelmed by the sheer amount of positive fan feedback and it lead to Square Enix considering to make more games similar to Bravely Default. That's an extraordinarily positive fan and company relationship. Not to mention Square Enix made games like The World Ends With You which gave them a pretty considerable amount of additional respect as well. They helped PlatinumGames work on Nier: Automata as well and that gave Platinum Games as well as Square Enix even more respect, Square Enix as well decided not to have any DRM for their games. Lastly the development hell for FFXV doesn't change anything honestly, yeah it's not the masterpiece it was thought it was going to be but it's a pretty great game either way, the development hell there was divisive but not genuinely negative for Square Enix at any rate and that's fact. The fact it managed to be a pretty great game despite the development issues speaks volumes by itself. Nier: Automata is a masterpiece as well. As are games like Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts 2 and likely Kingdom Hearts 3 will be. The game doesnt know if it wants to be a 1st Person shooter or a 3rd person Action game.. Some parts are forced 1st Person and some parts are forced 3rd person.     Pay2win or micro transactions are really not a problem for this game. SWBF II has curses much worse than this. Would you like to buy a car which don't move? This online game has got awful network code and developers who are unable to fix it. The lag and rubberbanding would be your best friends if you buy this piece of DICE's worthless stuff.

The devs didn't even care about balance issues because there are gamebreaking bugs all over the game in mp and sp too. Singleplayer is a joke, on the first map there are like 4-5 situation where enemies are rolling though walls and then walking back like it's no biggie. This game is insanely broken including all the possible bad decisions ever made in a shooter and all bad choices made in term of art style and game design. This game can not be rated fairly because it will ruin not just your image of EA and DICE but it will damage your overall love for STAR WARS games and movies. Besides these the hero characters looks like they are on drugs, some of the voice actors are horrible too. And on the top of it they want REAL MONEY FOR THIS GARBAGE!!! Beware this game is already dead, there are hours in a day when You won't find 40ppl matches. And the actual content in the game is like half of the previous one which is also a dead and mediocre game in general. If it wasn't a licensed star wars game even the fake press would not care about it but they are paid heavily so they gave ACTUALLY GOOD REVIEWS OF THIS WORTHLESS mess of redundant code pile.     I just received this game as a gift and the team balance is simply horrible. I understand that it is a progression type game, but progressing is hard to darn near impossible to earn battle points. Also you will need in game money when going up against a team that has pretty much maxed out their abilities. And playing 17v10 for a couple of mins is not fun. And for a game that focuses on the multiplayer aspect more so that story telling rpg side it really isn't worth it because of those glaring faults. The game could be really enjoyable to where you could play endless hours, but there are to many balance type issues.

You usually NEVER get on a decent team because all the openings are on the **** teams where people have already rage quit and you take their place on the shyte team. So much fun... When you finally get on a good team and are able to get some points, after about 3 rounds it becomes stupid boring and you can literally just sit around and goof off.. which is fun sometimes I won't lie. Essentially either I find myself rage quitting from impossible situations or bored out of my mind due to other team being full of completely terrible players. WTF DICE.. this is Dice' fault, they are notorious for this and completely inept at figuring out a solution for 0% balancing. I'm giving this game a 6/10 from the aspect of a good player able to at least potentially overcome **** situations and have a bit of fun... and I'm giving the game 0/10 for casual players who want to just have a good experience from the perspective of a trooper.. you better off watching the movies and won't hate yourself as much.… Expand

Made warse all the details that there in the first part. Idiotic interface covering the whole screen. Idiotic gameplay. And microtransactions of course. Finally it's not game. It's bad mod for Battlefield 1. Very bad mod.

    The completely game breaking star card system ruins apotentially good game and hides game progression behind a RNG. The MP progression is blatantly engineered to create frustration and funnel players to pay for loot boxes with real money, essentially turning the game into a pay to win game.

    Apart from the great Starfighter Assault mode Battlefront II is a mess of conflicting ideas, uneven mechanics and of course questionable monetization practices. DICE is facing long months of salvaging the game and the studio’s good name. [01/2018, p.32]

    Even the tinsel of the Star Wars world cannot hide the silly story and the boring singleplayer gameplay, or the necessity to accumulate the credits in the crate hunting in multiplayer. Battlefront II pleases as a genuine shooter in the beautiful scenery, but EA should deserve a slap into the face for their mad progression system.
