    This is THE Sonic game to play. It’s story is large and dips into Sonic lore a bit (Something we haven’t seen since Unleashed). It’s an open-zone playground with fun platforming and tricks to go on. The combat system is great and works really well with the enemies you fight in the game. The Boss fights are also a treat when you get to them, they’re probably the best the series has seen.This is THE Sonic game to play. It’s story is large and dips into Sonic lore a bit (Something we haven’t seen since Unleashed). It’s an open-zone playground with fun platforming and tricks to go on. The combat system is great and works really well with the enemies you fight in the game. The Boss fights are also a treat when you get to them, they’re probably the best the series has seen. The OST is great as well. Getting Kellin Quinn to make a few tracks was a very good option with the direction of this game. Overall it’s a very solid Sonic title and I definitely recommend giving this one a shot!… Expand

    I love how this game improves the Sonic formula. The story is much better compared to Forces and I absolutely adore the new characters. I am so happy that SEGA finally made a good Sonic game after Generations.

    Finally. We got a really high quality Sonic game. The series has again become canon in conjunction with the plot, which is interesting to follow. The "chemistry" of the characters, emotions are sometimes breathtaking, and coupled with a wonderful soundtrack, they cause a wow effect. I was also pleased with the length of the game. My passage took 13 hours. I recommend it to fans andFinally. We got a really high quality Sonic game. The series has again become canon in conjunction with the plot, which is interesting to follow.     One of the best Sonic games I´ve played for a long time and I think Frontiers is also on my first place.
    Had the best 20 Hours of high-speed action, collecting stuff and solving puzzles.
    Super Sonic fights are awesome and the in-game music is a banger. The pop-ins didn´t mind me, I still had the best experience. Modding the game will be very awesome and I will spend more time with    One of the best Sonic games I´ve played for a long time and I think Frontiers is also on my first place.

    Has a few tiny shortcomings but the positives outweigh any negativity I could say, by far the best Controlling 3D Sonic in the past 15 or so years, and finally a good, engaging story, and holy damn... Super Sonic is the best he has ever been freaking EVER.

    OST also goes extremely hard but that's a given when it comes to Sonic.

    I loved the game a lot, I've been playing this beautiful game for 15 hours and I still haven't finished it. At first I was afraid that the game was trash, but I was wrong, it was the opposite. Although the game is not perfect at all, but it is enjoyable and I think it is the most important thing in a game. One last thing, please make your own opinions and don't take the opinion of aI loved the game a lot, I've been playing this beautiful game for 15 hours and I still haven't finished it.     This is the sonic game I have been waiting for for 5 years and I am so happy with the result. There are some handling issues when sonic runs around the islands. The story is super good and Is a vast improvement over the likes of gents or colors and especially forces. This game looks stunning on PC on max settings and I am surprised it even showed up on the switch. I am so glad that the characters in this game don't have cringy stories and bad backgrounds, in this game sonic, tails, Amy, and knuckles all have amazing stories. The cutscene animation in terms of expressiveness and movement is amazing dare I say unleashed level. The combat in this game is great, there is a skill tree with many different combos and attacks that flow well in the game. The combat is not button-mashy. There are some minor bugs but I've gotta say sonic fans are eatin tonight. Sonic is back baby!!!… Expand

    I played sonic a lot as a kid on game gear, had kids, one loves sonic, tried the most modern games and felt they were lacking. This was very welcome change from the others I tried recently (forces) and would suggest anyone to give it a shot

The world is fun and innovative, Sonic and his friends are written the best they've ever been, and Sonic has the most versatility and control in his moveset that he's ever had and its an absolute blast. If you're on the fence, dont be - you wont want to miss it

    This game is what Sonic fans have been wanting for years. The game play is incredibly fun. The cyber space stages feel familiar and the layouts of older levels really rewards long time fans. The sense of speed and scale is very well done. Of course, the combat is also very well done. The power you feel by destroying enemies is very real.

    I'd say that it is the best Sonic game since.... forever honestly, even tho it has a lot of flaws (who doesn't have lol, even Adventure 2 was riddle with them and it's easily in the top3 of almost all Sonic fans) the game is still incredibly fun and it CLEARLY worth it's price tag too

    This is the best 3D Sonic game ever made since Sonic Adventure 1. Every island is good and with unique enemies and a story so well written that is gonna make a revolution in Sonic franchise. The only mistake is pop in but it doesn't affect gameplay.

    Alright, let's first start with the graphics. The graphics in this game are amazing, as a game should be in this era, this is definitely better looking than Sonic Unleashed which came out basically 14 years ago. Yes, it could look a bit better but knowing that SEGA had to make this game also run on the Nintendo switch comfortably is probably why. The Controls in this game in the Open ZoneAlright, let's first start with the graphics. The graphics in this game are amazing, as a game should be in this era, this is definitely better looking than Sonic Unleashed which came out basically 14 years ago. Yes, it could look a bit better but knowing that SEGA had to make this game also run on the Nintendo switch comfortably is probably why. The Controls in this game in the Open Zone (Open World) handle amazingly, also considering that you have a slider for the open world controls, you can customize it to whatever your liking is, my only gripe is that there's hardly any momentum in this game, and sonic is almost magnetized to the ground in some capacity, but knowing the developers probably had to limit sonics controls because they didn't want speed runners to beat this game faster than they already can. The controls in the Cyberspace stages aren't nearly as good as the controls in Generations or Unleashed, but considering they're supposed to be bite size like special stages, i can somewhat understand, since a lot more time was probably spent creating the open zone world. The characterization in the game is probably at its best, character interactions seem the most real the characters have ever been in a while, most likely how to Iann Flynn wrote them, let's hope he continues to write the stories for the next games. After beating the game there isn't much to do unless you haven't already collected all the memory tokens on every island and caught all the fish, which can in fact, take a while, but still somewhat of a letdown knowing there isn't a post-game content, hopefully they fix this with some dlc. The OST in this game is quite breathtaking, the soundtracks for the islands do make you feel immersed, and lonely in the world you're in, the soundtracks for the boss fights are as hype as they've ever been, truly this soundtrack is a Sonic fans fever dream come true. Overall, for Sonics first outing in this type of genre, sets up a very good foundation for what can come next, and i think SEGA did a great job. Not the best open world game, but again for Sonics first interaction in this type of gameplay style, it did great on all fronts.… Expand

    The best game in the franchise. The story is great and the characters well written, finally. The gameplay and core mechanics are really fun. Sonic Frontiers is definitely an amazing game and lays the ground work for the future and I can't wait for the next one.

    This game is incredible. A really masterpiece of games. I missed so much this Sonic more mature with its story. Something tells me that they add money from the movies to make a better budget to make this game possible. Love it!

    Sonic Frontiers is not the best game ever,and that's for sure. But SEGA demonstrated that they can actually bring Sonic to this type of formula (Open World/Zone). That's why Sonic is truely BACK!

    This game takes all the best aspects of Spiderman and Mario Odyssey and slaps them together making a unique and fun    Not just a good Sonic game, but a great game in general.     I was initially worried given Sonic Team's recent history of running more on ambition than polish, but with this they've delivered the best 3D platformer I've played in many years. I didn't even have this much fun with A Hat In Time, which is saying something!

    The open-world design doesn't get tiresome thanks to Sonic's excellent speed (so long as you don't choose the play the game in    I was initially worried given Sonic Team's recent history of running more on ambition than polish, but with this they've delivered the best 3D platformer I've played in many years.     Coming into this unbiased as i'm not a sonic fan, I was genuinely shocked. THIS is what people call a mid game online? This is one of the best open world games i've ever played.     The best Sonic game ever made! The open zone is really great designed and every island has it‘s own individuality. I really loved to play this game 30 hours with such a great story. Not like the usual stories without any big plots. This story was deep and was so good written with many plot twists and great character development. Really really great and my favorite game from now on!

    After Sonic Forces this game is just great. I especially liked the soundtrack, just a joy to my ears. The story didn't disappoint either.

Cyberspace is the only area where people say it is not good, I disagree, i see it as a extra addon to the open zone and with a mod to port the open zone physics into cyberspace it because better than colors andbest game in the series when you include mods, without mods it is still absolutely amazing.     one problem is the pop-ins, I don't think it's as bad as ruining the game but it's definitely noticeable, another thing is some bugs here and there that I'm pretty sure will be fixed and if not, they're not that common or game breaking except some that are kinda exploitable. Another thing that in my opinion could improve the game is a bit more balance in the game, fishing, for example, I think it's really good to have the option to buy vault keys and portal gears and etc directly from the fishing shop menu so that some players that are struggling with obtaining them in the normal way get to have them, But towards the end game it really gets OP, for example, I was defense level 40 and power level 45 and speed level 32 before entering the last island, and after one round of fishing in the last island, I was max level on all my stats! (max level is 99 for the 4 RPG stats)
    The balancing issue affects boss fights as well, some bosses I was able to halve their HP bar in 5 attacks! (I was playing on hard difficulty and high speed style gameplay for context)

    Now back to the good parts of the game, The soundtrack! Oh, the soundtrack! a single word, Awesome! everything about the soundtrack is just pure perfection! I enjoyed every single one of them, And I'm sure most sonic fans and new players are gonna also enjoy them.
    This game is a huge step in the right direction for Sonic Team and SEGA and I hope that Sonic Team can expand their team and SEGA gives them more budget to make even better games!

The game still looks gorgeous with amazing lighting from the hedgehog engine. He may fly into the horizon, or stick to the ground like a magnet. Cyberspace flows well in the gameplay loop, but the reused assets and level design from previous games with unchangeable poor control makes these levels the weakest part of the game. The OST goes hard, piano in the overworld, EDM in Cyberspace, which is really good(and I don’t usually care for EDM), and insane vocal tracks in boss battles. While the ending could’ve used a bit more time, the story is one of the best in the series, and all of the voice actors bring Ian Flynn’s masterful writing to life, and make these characters feel like themselves for the first time in over a decade. The interactions are great and you can tell they really cared both about new fans and old. Not perfect, but still amazing. 8.5/10… Expand

The combat is amazing, the music is great, controls are very good on my slider settings and the Story from what I have seen so far seems like it will be one of the greatest Sonic stories. I heavily recommend that you buy this game and the future is looking bright for the Blue Rat.

    - Cyber Space often reuses level aesthetics & designs. Up to you to decide if you prefer originality or fun.
    - After island 3, the game becomes slightly less visibly polished. Islands 4 & 5, (no spoilers) just seem like they were after thoughts. They're fun to play, but they feel less polished.
    - Story mystery is great, but the reveals are under cooked.
    - The different endings are locked behind difficulty, so it's kind of hard for players of certain skill levels to achieve certain endings.

    Verdict
    This game is great. It's really one of the best games this year so far. However, some poor decisions such as limiting the team to 60 people, have made the game fall short of a 9/10.

    While not the best game those new to sonic or those not used to the patented "Sonic Jank", this game was amazing and showed with a solid goal and vision, Sonic Team can make something amazing. That doesn't mean the game is perfect, no sonic game is.     if Sonic Adventure and Sonic Generations had a baby you would have this masterpiece!

    The soundtrack, the combat...such a breath of fresh air for the franchise.

    I would've rated it higher were it not for the wonky roaming bosses (they can be glitchy at times.)

    Now that I have finished this game I can say with confidence this is the best Sonic game, and is my new favorite, and that the story made me cry multiple times. Last Boss kinda sucks, but as a cohesive whole I'd rate this game a 9/10. It has its issues, 2D Cyberspace sucks, 3D Cyberspace is too stiff, and should have controlled, like the Open Zone.     Took me roughly 20 hours to 100% the game, and I felt like that is the perfect length for this style of game.

    Combat was good, but could definitely be expanded upon in future entries. The red seeds of power make Sonic do way too much damage if you level up strength, so its hard to enjoy how good the combat is when enemies die too fast.

    Movement overall feels really good, and I like the accessibility options for it a lot. I would like the physics of the game to be closer to Adventures 1 & 2 , and I'd like the drop dash to control closer to the 3d spindash from those games, but in terms of just moving Sonic in the open zone he feels great.

    I hope future games also bring back the unleashed art style. Fix the art style , fix the jank, and keep this same tone, and direction for the story, and the next game could be an easy 10/10.    … Expand

    One of the best Sonic games that I 'v ever experienced. Combat, cyberspace, story, characters. it's all very good. The only thing I had issues is with the pop-ins which needs to be fixed in the future but anyway, Sonic team great job

    -Beautiful atmosphere
    -Fast yet precise gameplay
    -Both the cyberspace and the world are fun
    -Some textures and a few shadows are weak even on full graphics.

    this game is amazing the gameplay and story are amazing i only have 3 issues the koco minigames involving the rescued characters are annoying and the ending is somewhat dull and also PLEASE add a feature to replay the super sonic boss fights maybe in the arcade mode?

So far I've encountered only 1 single music bug on a boss fight that kept playing after I died. SEGA should build on this formula for the next game but buy back the rights to the original Hedgehog Engine from Unleashed and Generations PLEASE.

    Amazing game. Great story, great gameplay, VERY fun. It could be better if wasn't rushed, but it still AMAZING!

    Sonic's entry into new, for him, gaming paths is overall successful, despite any problems. With a little polish and attention to detail, the next game in the series has the foundations in place to finally look eternal rival Mario in his three-dimensional, bubbly eyes.
