A lack of polish in levels, badly acted plotlines and unnecessary adventure fields between core levels.

Recognize this going in, the graphics are a lot of fun but may not be on par with the more modern stuff. This game was a lot of fun to replay, but BE AWARE OF THIS -- The game cannot exceed 1024x768 resolution, which means most PC gamers will have it horribly stretched on their widescreens or in teeny tiny window mode. I use 1920x1080 and this game was taking up like a corner of the screen, best case scenario to retain its graphic quality, which is enjoyable still. A great title worth porting from an under-appreciated platform, it just should have been reworked to include at least resolution graphics options. HD Sonic is now available in "Generations"! But I wish this was too. Full Review »

Level designs have a lot of thought put into it to help sell the fluidity and exploration of the Sonic game-play. However, Some of the set-pieces kind of feel a little outdated just by a bit, and the rest of the game needs a little bit more tuning/trimming of fat. Besides that, the story is well written to help the player empathize with both the villain of the story, Chaos, as well as the side character, Tikal. Full Review »
