    Clearly better than league of legends. Instead of focusing on crappy mechanics like "counters" this focuses on actual skill and knowing what you are doing. If you cant aim, you wont do well. League is garbage compared to smite, and its easily comparable since league is the standard of mobas...

    What started off as a small community based MOBA is now a widely played game who recently received $2.6 million as part of their world championship beating League of Legends for the 3rd spot in the top Esports prize pools. Keep in mind that this game as officially been out for less than a year.

    First of all, I hate games that copy other games. Like smite, a lot of the gods are just copies from League. The game development team fails to be creative and bring us a fresh/awesome game with authentic ideas. Also this game's mechanism is old and boring, same old same MOBA. Moreover, the skins are very poorly designed and I didn't want to spend a dime on any of them, even though I had aFirst of all, I hate games that copy other games. Moreover, the skins are very poorly designed and I didn't want to spend a dime on any of them, even though I had a champion that I really liked. I would buy a skin immediately for my champ in league because of their superior art/effect/design. This game also has a HUGE amount of unskilled players, it annoys you a lot and the auto matching system keeps matching noobs for your games. The item mechanism is broken, a lot of items are similar, if you go check the items in league, they are much better/more diverse. Lastly, the first person perspective just fails in a MOBA, sometimes a projectile that misses 1 millimeter on the screen can decide if you win or lose in League, yet in this game it's impossible to do that.

    In my opinion Smite is the best MOBA that there is, because of couple of things.

    1. You play as God - which is cool :D 2. Third person view is absolutely game changing. Any other MOBA hasn't done same at least so well. I think it's also harder to master, because you have to aim. You can't just click the enemy and boom - I made damage to it. 3.     I am terrible at MOBA games, but at least Smite looks good and feels good. I have tried many MOBA games including DOTA2 and League of Legends. Latter I played some time, but then I found Smite and that was the end of LoL for me. :D    … Expand

    This game is amazing, It is my first love. I think I've spent more on this game than on any girl. SMITE I love you. Smite is not like DotA or LoL, it's completely different and has more gamemodes than the other two. The 3rd person action perspective make it incredibly fun and entertaining to play, every time you get a kill it's entertaining to play.     If this game were to get a letter grade, I'd give it a solid B... M. :D

    I recently stopped playing SMITE. It really became to addicting for me, and the community (while there are some genuinely cool people here) is pretty weak. I'm expecting it to get a little more... "interesting" once it hits XBone. Mechanically, this game is sound.     Mechanically, this game is sound. I'm not a MOBA fan, but I loved the action SMITE brings to the table. It's so funny how a different perspective can lead to such a different result, but it's true here. If this game were it's own, and not just a MOBA, but more like UT, it'd still be kick ass.

    The Gods are really cool. Though they have made some Gods look more LoL-like (Kali, He-Bo, New Ao), overall, they have done a great job to actually acknowledge the pantheons they come from. My favorite is Neith, followed by Bastet, then Bacchus. Though I may only play certain Gods, I love all of them. There characters stick out, their VP's are top-notch, and the costumes that keep coming only further the personalities of the Gods (and, in turn, the players).

    I may return to it at some point. I've played for a loooonnnngggg time and have seen SMITE undergo many many changes. Every step Hi-Rez has made has been the right step towards making an engaging MOBA worthy of e-sports fame (and I'm being generous here, as I find e-sports to be "What, you can't catch a football?")

    All in all, this is a solid game. If you have a 2-4 friends that like this type of stuff, I'd say bring the malong if you haven't already. SMITE is doing it's best to stand out among the many, monotonous MOBA's out there.    … Expand

    The game is amazing fun, though it has it's issues with the ban system and the deserter system. As well as unoriginal skills.

    So pretty much it's one of the most enjoyable games ever, and pretty much everyone could like it, but if you have a bad internet or are just plain unlucky, you won't be able to play much.

    The 3rd person view makes using a gamepad possible, which really makes the game unique. It can't really be compared to other "mobas", which is both good and bad. The good part is that the games stay pretty fast paced for their entirety. The bad part is its fairly simple, with not much to learn aside from specific spells and items.

    This online Moba is fun, but under the wing of Hi Rez has increasingly become bad.

    -the match making sucks. Reasons? I have 600+ games under my belt and am lvl 30 but I am being paired with idiots with no knowledge of the game.
    -most of the characters are broken/op or are completely bad. Just look up the newest gods abilities

    At least it's a "free" game.

    I don't like DOTA2 for its difficulty in terms of not beeing noob friendly and I don't like LoL for its community and both because it is top down clickfest. But both games are good or else they wouldn't have so much players.
    Smite on the other hand caught me with its gameplay. It's more like a third person shooter and it's noob friendly. Framerate never even    This game is insanely fun.

    Firstly-MOBA in 3D. Secondly,-good graphics with an excellent soundtrack. Thirdly-you can be a God. Fourthly- nice community (probably better than LoL or Dota). Are you downloading client right now?

    I must say that the game is really well done and the gameplay is really good, but this low score is based on the community of smite.
    i've played League of Legends for about 2 years now and i know what a toxic community is, but Smite really tops this because the game itself is not easy to play.     It's a beautiful moba which takes a whole different perspective on mobas. The game includes different pantheons of Gods/Goddesses/Deities. There are multiple game modes that seem to get a lot of game-play. The games free, but has a good amount of things you can pay for. The game runs really well, but can have a good amount of server issues which needs to be resolved. If you like MMOs andIt's a beautiful moba which takes a whole different perspective on mobas.     The best MOBA out there. Amazing skins for god and marketing for upcoming god releases make me excited to play them when they are released. monthly events of free Gems(in-game money). Smite has some really good game modes that make the game so much more playable and less of a chore like other moba's.

    If you don't have it you should get it, if you have it you should be playing it now!

    Smite is missing something that can't be expressed by words but I feel boring after playing six months. Some characters and Items are unbalanced. This game in other regions isn't established yet so when Asian or Aussie players join the game it makes hard to play for them from thousands of miles distance.     Smite is one of the most original, satisfying games I've ever played. Developer Hi-Rez did a great job of making the heroes and giving them an authentic feel. With multiple game modes and a lot of characters to choose from, this is a fresh new take on the world of MOBA's.

    I think one of the best MOBA games of all time, i'm so **** addicted to this game i have played this game for 164 hours and 21 minutes, it's god damn crazy with lot of stuff to expand for me 10/10

    I played LoL until lvl 28.. and then i found Smite and stopped playing LoL. Smite is way better, it has some problems when you're playing alone because of the people you team up with... some of them are bad players and you some times cant find a good team. But that happens in LoL too soo, that is not a good comparison. Still, Smite has better graphics, strategy and gods are awesome!     SMITE is my new moba, I haven't played League of Legends or DotA since I started playing Smite. Unlike other new mobas coming out, HiRez tries to do something different by changing it to a third person view and have you aim everything, even your basic attack.

    Another thing that is great is that it has several game modes that are actually played (unlike Domination in LoL). I hope to see    SMITE is my new moba, I haven't played League of Legends or DotA since I started playing Smite.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. i give this game a score of 6.for the following reasons
    1)HiRez staff never bans those who paid even if they hack
    2)there are hacks.
    3)there is no level balance in match-making thing that makes you stuck with lowbies forever
    4)too many non-english speaking players so well you sometimes feel alone in the game
    5)ticket support answers are always.(and when i say always i mean it) indirect and actually never answered..well it's robot answer all the time..so there is no support for players..(unless you paid)

    These were the reasons it got so low score from me..the reasons it's above average is because of the common MOBA genre with the unique style of 3rd person shooting.it also has good graphics..well..the cons of this game are more than the pros..but it worths just the experience..    … Expand

    The Gods in this game are great, they have 7 different pantheons to choose from. 5 different classes that each feel really different.     There are 5 game modes to choose from, and for each time you win you get extra favor to purchase more gods and skins.

    And speaking gods, there are over 50 to play as right now, and more and more keep being added. You'll definitely find one that you like, my favorite is Sun Wukong. Each god has a great design and multiple skins to make them look even better.

    This game is pretty good, but there are some flaws. The matchmaking isn't the greatest, as sometimes you'll face someone with a master 10 Diamond Ares, and you're a master 1 Ymir. And the wait times for some of the match's are a little long.

Controlling your hero feels more like you are actually in control, not just giving commands to a hero. Every auto-attack and skill use feels good, because you are in control.

    The game features *now* great graphics, fluid movement, good interface and a huge variety of items and active skills to customize your hero. The game barely had any of those things 2-3 years ago, but Hi-Rez put their head to it and made the game so much more than what it was. It's really great.

    The VGS (voice guided system) is pure gold. Probably one of the best features that I have seen in any MOBA, ever. It allows for quick communication with your team without hindering the gameplay at all. All the commands are appropriately labelled and you can learn the whole system quickly. This increases the whole cooperation with your team, without voice chat in the game. You can even customize the V commands with a voice pack of your choice by your favourite gods.

    Great thing about this game, is that it's based on mythology, and all the gods you know and love are back in and fighting with each other.

    Before, the UI, matchmaking and graphics were my main gripes with this game, but Hi-Rez is making constant HUGE updates with revamped graphics, characters , maps, game modes , skins, etc.

    My main two gripes with this game are kind of minor, but they are there: HORRIBLE voice acting except for few characters like Tyr, and silly auto attack animations which seem be needlessly spectacular (like, does my character really need to do a 720 degrees backflip every other auto attack? Hi-Rez is getting better, but some AAA are still silly).

    SMITE also has a great business model, a step up from LoL. You can not only buy characters with in-game currency and real currency, but you can also rent gods and pay a lifetime fee of £20 and get every god + every future god in the game.

    Overall, SMITE is a great f2p package and everybody who loves MOBA games AND action games should check it out, it's really fun.    … Expand

    Alot of your favorite gods and demons you already know from many mythology tales... Also it does not lag, crash and loads extremely fast for having better graphics and smoother gameplay then any other moba ive played to date. Especially league of legends... I give this a 10/10 MUST play for all gamer types.

You start with 5 free gods+ 5 other rotating gods, these rotating gods chances usually after big update or once month. I like that it is skill based game and its from third view perspective with wasd- controls. Yes it's still a massive tower defense strategy game at it's heart, but it's third-person action focus is more than just a gimmick.     Third god perspective freshens up the MOBA genre but its potential was not fully utilized (e.g. you can jump, but there’s nowhere to jump to). Smite makes up for that with varied game modes and accessibility to inexperienced or casual players. [06/2014, p.58]

    The product of Hi Rez Studios is well made, and offers different feelings from those of its competitors, thanks to the different camera angle and a fast paced gameplay.
