-
Mar 25, 2014Smite is an excellent addition to an expanding genre, and one that distinguishes itself from the rest of the pack with decidedly different gameplay, a quirky and lighthearted take on classic mythology, and a variety of interesting modes.
-
Apr 3, 2014SMITE is a breath of fresh air to the MOBA genre. The changes in the control and the camera and his multiple game modes make it a very advisable game. You will want to try it.

Apr 10, 2014Smite makes the MOBA more approachable with smart tweaks to the formula and action RPG-inspired combat.
-
Apr 14, 2014Smite brings change to the young, but little innovating MOBA-genre by giving the player direct control. Instead of viewing the game from above, you're given a first person perspective and the game has you aiming your attacks yourself. This feels very refreshing and makes for a very active and intense experience. Aside from that, Smite stays true to the genre and a good balance, variety in skills and countless items to use, which make a good MOBA.
-
Apr 10, 2014If you've never played a MOBA before, SMITE is an excellent place to start.
-
Apr 4, 2014Smite is a great and original MOBA than can compete face to face with the most important titles of genre.
-
Apr 1, 2014Each map is polished, every God looks and sounds great, and exceptional Match of the Day modes offer plenty of variety. Some late-game balance issues aside, Smite’s divine execution of innovative ideas make it a worthy contender.
-
Aug 8, 2014Smite is alternative to Dota and LoL suited to beginners as well as veterans of the genre.
-
CD-ActionJul 23, 2014Third god perspective freshens up the MOBA genre but its potential was not fully utilized (e.g. you can jump, but there’s nowhere to jump to). Smite makes up for that with varied game modes and accessibility to inexperienced or casual players. [06/2014, p.58]

May 19, 2014The product of Hi Rez Studios is well made, and offers different feelings from those of its competitors, thanks to the different camera angle and a fast paced gameplay.
-
May 6, 2014By adding just a third-person perspective, SMITE entirely changes the way we play MOBA. As a player you're feeling more in control over your character, which results in a more intense and better multiplayer experience.
-
Apr 24, 2014Smite is invigorating. It’s not another MOBA. It takes one aspect of a MOBA’s structure and builds on it until it's something else entirely. Smite has developed into an action game. One with lanes, creeps and towers, all the things you’d expect from a MOBA, but even the familiar looks different when viewed from Smite’s refreshing perspective.
-
Mar 25, 2014Smite is a godsend for the MOBA genre, with the heart of its gameplay proving that innovation to the war plan for tower siege games is possible. With just a few changes to what other games have delivered before, Smite manages to feel like a brand-new game.
-
Mar 26, 2014A MOBA with a very distinct personality that comes from its unique design choices and control system.
-
Mar 26, 2014I like SMITE. I like it a lot, and I wish it well. I’ll probably continue playing the game in my off-time, as it provides an easily accessible source of fun. This MOBA is quick and flashy, has great combat. It’s a model that seems to be what HiRez is sticking to, so I can only hope that they don’t make a huge bunch of changes just a few months after launch. If you like the idea of MOBAs, but haven’t really dug into them because of whatever reason, give SMITE a try. It’s different without being alienating, and has a lot going for it already.
-
Apr 2, 2014A different camera angle along with great e-sport support can't hide the fact that this has been done before, with better result.
