    A different kind of MOBA, but not for everyone. Unfortunately, I don't see myself playing this game too often; it's not my type of MOBA. Nonetheless, it's undeniably impressive. I genuinely wished I could get into this game, and I did try, but it just doesn't resonate with me.

    There's a chance that this game might be your cup of tea. If you're not into games like DOTA, LoL, or HotS,    A different kind of MOBA, but not for everyone. Unfortunately, I don't see myself playing this game too often; it's not my type of MOBA. Nonetheless, it's undeniably impressive. I genuinely wished I could get into this game, and I did try, but it just doesn't resonate with me.

    Pretty standard MOBA with over the shoulder controls rather than top-down. Not being a fan of MOBAs, I did not enjoy it, but can understand the appeal for those who like this sort of thing.

A complete CC fest that forces you to watch how you are forced in 1 place for literal 10 seconds, just because you dared to do the mistake of getting hit by a single skillshot.     The game is bad, the devs work hard to make skins but the stability of the game is bad, you get constant crashes on new consoles. You get constant crashes on PC. For which you get up to a whole 24 hours ban (yes, 24 hours ban for their game crashing on you).

    the only reason i play this game is because my friends play it so much. its a love hate relationship with this game and my friends. like me and rocket league. it hurts me every time but i always come back for more. 6/10 because it dont really like it but i thinks its better than average

    While I'm not always in the mood to play Smite, it has a lot of staying power and is fresh enough to keep coming back to for weeks or months at a time. The 3rd person pov is also a nice touch, and the theme is obviously terrific.

    Over 4k hours on SMITE
    +amazing charater design, together with their stories and their abilities in game refering to the mythology
    +great gameplay with friends +compared to other mobas 3rd person view +very good combat system -very very bad optimalization, every single patch i spent hourse solving problem game crashing, lags (even tho my pc was way stronger than the requirements) so    Over 4k hours on SMITE

    +great gameplay with friends
    +compared to other mobas 3rd person view

    -bad servers, occasionally, the ping and maintence was really annoying, without any annoucement, they just shut down servers for several hours
    -bad ranked, even tho in S8 its getting better

    The cons are more of a technical issues than the actuall gameplay, if i was gonna rate it separately, i would give 8/9 for a gameplay, for optimalization 5.    … Expand

    One of the best games i've played ever period. Never gets old. Tons of gods 0 pay to win. Skins are somewhat expensive but worth every penny because of the sheer detail on each one.

    i truly love smite. having played it since 2013. it has given me so many memories and most importantly friends. however its for sure flawed as any online game tends to be. But i have so many good things from smite it earns my rating

    The gameplay feels amazing and you will learn stuff quickly.
    Artstyle of the gods is probably my favorite part.
    Mythology instead of "made up" characters is pretty cool!

But SMITE still isn't anything special. It may just be that I am not a big fan of the MOBA genre but it's not really anything special.     Ok your game is cool and **** Hi-Rez but god you own me at least 11 hours of my **** time for the game takes longer to launch than my crush to say yes, and don't get me starting with the **** Russian roulette that is the reconnecting button, which should be renamed "ALT+F4 or Not".

    The game is very addictive It will suck you in and make you play for hours without your even being aware how much you played. The game physics is very good. Gad selections is awesome with Hi-Rez bringing new Gads every now and then just when needed to spice thing up. Graphics of every Gad is done i great detail. Skins, voices etc are awesome. Every Gas has it's own unique ability thusThe game is very addictive It will suck you in and make you play for hours without your even being aware how much you played. The game physics is very good.     In the end of 2018 we have clearly saw a change in designers and the team that is creating the content for the game. First the arenas and the playgrounds that they implemented are very weird and ugly.
    Maybe the biggest problem (at the current time in January 2019.) is their launcher Everything worked fine for years and then in late 2018. Hi-Rez created a new launcher that makes you update the game very time you start the game. For users with fast connection, it will take up to 5 or 10 minutes to update every time in order to play. For other, it will take a lot longer.
    If you plan to play this game, I highly recommend it. But maybe it would be better to play it via Steam as you won't have any problems with updates. Only hope stays that the Smite team and Hi-Rez will leave the path that leads to poor graphics and really weird arena's and playgrounds and continue with the path that lead the game to be one of the best MOB games available.    … Expand

    In 95% of the games you play, there will be a random dude making a drama scene, with salt, hatred, feed, spam, DC, insults. So at the end of the game, you report him, in hope this player get banned.

    But you know they funniest part of it? It is YOU, the good player, who will be banned.
    I played Smite for 800 hours, so i know by experience all i'm assuming here. It's the good guys who get all the crap in this game.

    My friend DC 3 times between 15 games to take care of his newborn child, and he got banned.
    Then i've been banned for days without any reasons too, the only thing i can think of is: i was being reported out of jealousy because i had alot of kills as hunter and mage, and i stole kills alot. Otherwise i have NO idea what i've done wrong! (wait... maybe that ONE dc i had days ago because i lost electricity due to a tornado in my region!)

    Yet, over time in game i see repeteadly the sames people (by recognizing their account name) Still playing, and some of them i remember because they are incredebly extreme salty players.

    I'm done with Smite, and i'm not recommending this game to anyone. Especially not the new players now since some players are smurfing and destroys the new players without giving them a change to learn the game fairly.

    The matchmaking is incredebly unbalanced, the god comp in assault is always crap too. one team always gets crappy gods when the other gets a OP comp with zeus or ah puch.

    The player's level matchmaking is terrible too. They consider lvl 67 players to lvl 150 to be at the same level. A team can get players lvl: 67,69,80,80,102, While the other get: 142,82,102,136,110... It's stupid because at lvl 69 i was a total noob, i didn't know the items in shop by heart, i didn't new all the gods yet, and my reflexes were still slow. it's when i reached lvl 110 that i considered myself a finally good player. So why should i be teamed with lvl 67 that still asks me ''what should i buy?'' or ''How do i play this guy?''

    i'm writting all this here because it's bothering me that we can't have fun in games nowadays.    … Expand

    I have a special place in my heart for Smite. Having almost 2000 hours of playtime, Smite really was the game that brought me into PC-Gaming. Just thinking about those long summer nights playing season 4 all night with my friends brings me very nostalgic/happy emotions. This are the 2 main problems with Smite which IMO makes it not suitable for a 9 or 10 rating, though,the matchmaking system is totally being remade and Hi-Rez is slowly winning back the community's trust, we'll see how the game improves but as of right now, 8/10 for me.… Expand

    It's a fun game. Great game-play mechanics and plenty to do. However, the game is a team based game, and the match making is atrocious. Considering this game is a team based game, match making is vital to the enjoyment of it.

    its a decently fun game but the company behind it has no consequences for its employees. Many times on official hi rez twitch chat or twitter you can see employees (usually casters) bullying other people. Online harassment is a terrible thing in mobas and when the company behind it is BM you can imagine what the player base acts like.

    This is a very good game, in the sense that its the first MOBA I've ever played and I like playing it. The graphics are enjoyable, as are the different gods/modes to choose from. However the entire community is horrid. If you are good, you have no life and you are a hacker.... but if you play a bad game you suck you need to delete your account and go kill yourself. No matter how much you get harassed, and even if you report someone, it still stays the same. The person never gets a penalty in any way, and they continue to harass you even if you play a good game with them. It goes well beyond the game as well, even after the game has ended they private message you to continue being crappy. This game would be perfect if we could actually block someone so that I can never read their raging messages. I've tried blocking them though it still pairs them in a game with me, and I can still read messages in game. The only thing it solves is private messages. This game actually has made me delete it so many times just because of people being such ass faces about every little thing. All in all I like how this game plays, but if you can find a way to weed out the little **** faces that ruin the whole experience it would be perfect. I've had less ****ing from players on call of duty and I thought that game was bad. On this game we have guys with no life that just sit here and play 24/7 to complain to other people. Then they always seem to get stuck on MY team. Even if we are winning and he/she is the only one on the team dying at all they still freak out and tell the whole team they suck etc. This game should come with free anger management for those that obviously well beyond need it and a zanax so we can put up with their crap. If you can get past all the B.S from the community online, then by all means play this game. It is quite good, provided you grow up before you download it because all the little children playing this game are making it unpleasant for us that actually enjoy games for FUN. It's not the end of the world if you lost, and if it is then kindly ask your mother to wipe your butt and give you a new diaper before you log back in. I give it a 8/10 just because the game was great, and yet I still would rather eat glass than play it.… Expand

    An enjoying take on the MOBA genre, fun, but fails to blow away with its unimmersive gameplay feels and graphics. To add, the game is very unfriendly to beginners, and the lack of players just so make it worse. Nonetheless, it's free to play, so see for yourself.

    Плюсы - Новый взгляд на жанр - Можно поучить лор некоторых верований - Экшон завезён - Много режимов + режим дня, который всегда разный (в рамках одного месяца, а так бывают повторы) - Легко открывать персонажей, да, их нужно открывать, на мой    Хорошая моба, в всоё время была свежим взглядом на этот жанр, сейчас у неё появляется конкурент в лице Парагон, но данный обзор не о нём

    Плюсы
    - Новый взгляд на жанр
    - Можно поучить лор некоторых верований
    - Экшон завезён

    - Сообщество типично любой онлайновой игре
    - Очень дёшево для ру сегмента продаётся Ultimate God Pack, который открывает всех героев сразу, но я не советую его брать, игра теряет много смысла без открывания богов самостоятельно
    - Ну и обида для меня, с проблемой такой я столкнулся: задонатив в игру я на всех последующих ивентах получал самые худшие призы, возможно такова воля рандома, но.. обидно

    P.S. Если кто без клана вступайте в клан с тегом KБУ (К, к сожалению, английская), или "Клан Без У" его полное название, я не знал что написать, а самые лучшие трёхбуквенные теги заняты. Буду рад людям

There is one huge huge flaw that makes the game awful. The game is definitely run to make money. They release new god's to play all the time which is great but they always make them crazy overpowered on purpose. I finally gave up on thinking hi rez would actually balance the game and not release bull **** god's but they never will.… Expand

    It could honestly pass for being made 5 years before its actual release.

    Made by a studio who can't create an original IP and only steals ideas from others, badly!

    If you want to play a MOBA there are plenty of better options.
    And, in my opinion, 3rd person view for MOBAs isn't the way to go. Other games don't do it for a reason - it's awful.

    With 4.3 they are adding EAC against most of the communities will. The entire Smite subreddit is filled with negative things about it. I've uninstalled smite with the only way I'd return is if they remove EAC or I find a way to disable it and still run Smite.

Te obligan a pagar por porquerias que no te gustan solo para tener 1 skin que no se puede conseguir de ninguna otra forma.     My major problem is that I am a mac user and as happy I am that Smite does allow us to play, it is sad how much I lag and cannot turn my graphics up to    I like Smite, but I have a major problem with it. I have never played a game as consistently and as often as I have with SMITE. There are around 80 gods that you can play as and each one has a unique play style. These matches are rigged; you will not even be fighting real players in the normal pvp matches let alone the ranked matches.     Smite is truly enjoyably outstanding approach to MOBA genre. In a first impression it may appear that it lack some strategy elements of its more classical cousins.     The nicest thing about Smite for me is that players seem a bit less salty then any other game of this type.

Smite uses Gods form different mythologies as there "Hero's" and it has meant that I have learnt more about ancient cultures and their beliefs. It has a few game modes which are all unique. It has the normal MOBA game mode with the 3 lanes and the jungles but it also has an arena where you just need to kill the enemy and the Match of the day changes things within each game mode and it adds variety to what the game has to offer. Most of the community is good but there are some very toxic players. There are balancing issues and some items or gods are much more overpowered than others. You can customize your account with new icons, music themes, card borders, stands and god skins but there is so much that it can fell overwhelming and it can take awhile to gather gems (which is what you use to buy most of the stuff). Favor is the currency you get for playing the game but the stuff you can buy with it is limited. It also has some connection problems but if you have decent WiFi then you should be OK.

That's ok, Games can have some issues, but then you realize that Hirez keep unbalancing and unbalancing everytime, buffing strong gods like Cyla, Kumba, Nox and Nerfing weak ones, mainly removing defense stats' strongness. It's all that? No, Then they put Susano and New Mouse, both ultra high overpower, **** all the game up.

    Probably the best MOBA I have ever played. The community isn't too bad for being a MOBA and you can buy all the characters for $30.

    Also best of all... Voice commands. One of the best ways of communicating in a moba I have ever seen.

    A fun moba with a good roster. You can get a package of all the Gods for $30 which beats paying one by one or grinding them all out. Plenty of game modes and maps that get played by the community.

    The classes and large character set are very balanced, and the third person view adds an element of control in a MOBA i've never had. If you even remotely enjoy MOBAs and like Third person games, this game will hook you very quickly. I put 23 hours in 3 days.

    Love MOBA games, but lost interest in Dota and LoL due to toxic community and the game mechanics of constantly clicking everywhere to move my character. Smite's design and gameplay is a breath of fresh air. I've played it for awhile, and always enjoy the epic fights. Sure you get some pugs that are awful, but if you hold your own and uplift the team you always have a fighting chance.

Smite has a much better community, and is in 1st person, which is a much liked format for a moba.     Overall if you want to try your hand at MOBAS and like nice and simple key binds then try smite after all its free to play    … Expand

    However, after I got the computer my friends invited me to a game for it, and I was after we got into a game for 2 minutes I was kicked out. I thought 'Oh lord, it crashed!' So I tried to hurry back on and I was banned for using illegal software. On a brand new computer. So I figured, ' This has to be a mistake.' but my friends are demanding I play, one made an account for me, and then first 2 minutes. Banned again. So an application on a brand new computer had software that was bringing up false positives, I confronted support about that and they were probably the rudest people I've ever talked to, especially from any support group. I asked for a multitude of things, any potential of getting ban lifted? Since it was a fresh computer? No. Could I at least be told what the supposed program was so that I could remove it? No. After the first two responses they simply stopped responding.

    TL;DR play it if you want, but don't invest time or money into it, because you may be banned for literally nothing, and they will not listen to anything you have to say. However, the gameplay was fine.    … Expand

The rest of the Gods can be purchased using in-game currency that is earned by simply playing the game, or they can be purchased with gems that cost real currency.     There are five different classes that each God is under based on their abilities; these classes are: Mage, Assassin, Warrior, Guardian, and Hunter. Mages have magical based attacks, and generally are ranged, they also generally have low health, and high damage/support. Hunters have physical based attacks, and are almost always ranged, they generally have low health, and are your Attack Damage Carry, or ADC for short. Warriors have physical based attacks, and are melee, they generally have medium to high health, but have medium to low damage. Assassins have physical based attacks, and are melee, they have very low health, but high damage. Guardians have magical based attacks, some are ranged, and some are melee, they have very high health, and generally low damage.

    Smite consists of six game modes: Conquest, Joust, Arena, Assault, Siege, and the Match of the Day, or MotD for short. Conquest is your normal 5v5 MOBA style map, consisting of a jungle, three lanes, each with two towers per team, and a phoenix per team. The objective is to destroy the opponent’s Titan which is in the enemy base. Joust is a 3v3 map, consisting of a jungle, one tower per team, and one phoenix per team, the objective is to destroy the opponent’s Titan. Arena is a 5v5 team death match map. The goal is to deplete the opponent’s tickets, which start at 500; five tickets are taken off for every player kill, one ticket is taken off if your team gets the final hit on an enemy minion (Note that if your minions kill an enemy minion, no points are deducted), one point is taken off if one of your minions enter the enemy portal, and 15 points are taken off if a siege minion enters the enemy portal. Assault is a 5v5 map, consisting of one lane, no jungle, two towers per team, one phoenix per team, and you cannot recall, or walk back onto the fountain, and the objective is to destroy the enemy titan.     The item system is similar to that of other games in the genre, consisting of Consumables, Actives, and Passives. Once you are use to the God, you can go into the God Builder section, and create an item build, and ability build, so while Auto-Buy is on, it will by the items you preset. The servers crash often and any time there is a server issue you are likely to be banned for abandoning a match despite the fact that their paper-clip and chewed gum servers are at fault.

    In short, the game is fun, but be prepared for a lot of technical difficulties, and absolutely no interest in helping you or even recognizing that there are problems on hi-rez' end. also expect a high learning curve do to the fact that in the starter lvl matches there is often 15-30 smurfs.

    could be a much much better game if Hi-rez decided to put some effort into it and maybe improve some base line technical problems instead of completely re-hauling the meta every 2 weeks.    … Expand

    If the game had a better matchmacking system and more of a player base the game would be less frustrating. Games are over too quick or you spend ages getting beaten badly and no one wants to surrender. Normally the guys that have overfed the opposition.

    There is also absolutely no ranking system for matchmaking, I can't say how many times I've been on a team of new players vs. a team of mostly pro-ranked, or beta testers. Makes for incredibly unfair matches. The game has a player level system, which would be an easy base to use for such a matchmaking system, but it apparently disregards it. The Devs are probably to busy cashing their checks from all the Tournaments.

    Smite is action combat MOBA by definition, if you are tired of the usual point and click to move this is what you should try out, you, it may take a bit to get used to aim your targets but there are practice matches for that. It's fun and free, theres no talents,runes or anything you need to pay for to enjoy or compete at high levels, just cosmetics if you want to look different.

    Decent game, friendly UI and generally positive community. The graphics are decent and interesting, could be better though. All of the characters are well done, and the game play is fairly balanced which is good. SMITE could use a lot more details though, little things like breaking objects, hidden easter eggs, etc. I think the game should create more "Specialist" type roles, instead ofDecent game, friendly UI and generally positive community.     Funnest moba i've plated, the 3rd person perspective makes for a better game play experience
    also asdw beats clicking any day IMO

    Also if your a fan of Mythology this might be a game your interested in.

    Smite - to start a very fresh take on the MOBA genre.. the selling point of this game is the action based third person camera. its really awesome to play in that manner, with almost all abilities of gods being skillshots. Next the concept of Gods as playable characters is really original and awesome. Unlike fantasy characters in LoL and Dota2 we can relate ourselves more to Gods, theirSmite - to start a very fresh take on the MOBA genre.. the selling point of this game is the action based third person camera. its really awesome to play in that manner, with almost all abilities of gods being skillshots. The next awesome thing is the Voice guided system. You want to call missing ? just press "VF", for retreat "VRR" this small thing makes team work great. Finally the free to play model is really good, with no necessity for high grinding. There are no runes or masteries so that there is no Pay2Win. God packs are available and u get favors very generously. Based on F2P model Dota 2 > Smite > LoL.

    So if you like MOBA and want a different take this game is must try. If you are trying to getting to MOBA and like action games this is must play, as its very accessible to new players.    … Expand

Also when one person is AFK, the game quickly becomes unfair. For a free game, it's quite good but well I think that if you really want to enjoy it, you will want to buy it, 30$ seems fair. I guess that the best to really enjoy this game would be to play in a real team (clan). I can see how powerful it can be to make smart use of powers (one freeze the opponent while the other use a massive slow attack) and to be many to attack a single opponent. I would probably really enjoy playing competitive and learning all Gods skills. This being said, without having a clan to play with and being limited to only a few Gods (free to play), the game becomes quickly repetitive and boring. I prefer to play a game like battlefield where you can revive other players, heal yourself and where the attacks (guns) are more clearly defined. Indeed, in SMITE, it's often hard to understand how you got killed because there are some many Gods/attacks.… Expand

If you're in the EU don't bother playing this game - for every good day their servers are up without problems, there's 2 days of server issues.     The only MOBA I'll play due to it being more action oriented. Having a god pack that includes all current and future gods for only $30 is what sold it to me. You could pay nothing and unlock all gods but it would take FOREVER due to how much ingame currency they cost. I'd recommend trying out the game with the weekly gods then if you like it enough buy the god pack.

    Oh Smite, you are a lovely game. Community (overall *cough*) is good, the gameplay is awesome plus I love the 3rd person camera, characters/heroes are GODS which makes you feel like one and it's super easy to learn compared to Dota or LOL (played em both). It's not pay-to-win, devs keep supporting the game 24/7 and it's a ton of fun alone or with friends. 10/10, definitely try it out!

    I started playing Smite quite a while ago now and watching it change and become what it is today has been amazing! It has very few bugs and the ones found are usually not very big and do not impact play to a large degree. The overall graphics quality is good, it isn't the best but very far from the worst.     unfortunately after picking this game up again in season 2 - it still has the same issues as in season 1

    Gameplay
    Probably the most important thing of a MOBA, besides good looking/catchy gods.
    Movement and combat feel natural, as does skill placement.
    Sometimes it can be very hard to land a certain skill or spell, but when you do... It feels just AWESOME!

    I also quite like the fact that you move slower when go sideways or backward, this adds more depth to the game, because you actually have to think how you move your character!

    If we talk about items, they are well balanced and versatile, yet it's simple to understand what they do.
    The only thing that's nagging me is: you CAN't sell 'active' items, which instantly makes no-one use them before late game.

    What about the game modes?
    Some are really cool, others suck. I think it's good that they have these different game modes, eventually it's your choice what you like to play!

    Graphics
    Lets be honest: most gods look really, really cool! As do there skills/spells and attack animations.
    But of course there are some gods that look really lame.

    Map wise they made it come to life, it looks like a battleground worthy of the gods.
    But again, some maps are cool others are not. It depends on your preference.

    Conclusion
    Overall this game is fun to play and has an OK community, especially when considering this game is a MOBA. It has a nice skill cap with many different gods, some easy, others hard to master.
    The different game modes are fun to play, I personally like to switch them up once in a while.

    Gods are pretty balanced, but can easily get out of control when running away with kills early on.
    They look good, feel good as do their skills/spells.

    The overall control over your god feels a lot better than in a standard MOBA!

    This is the best moba i've played, simply. I started playing Heroes of Newerth then Dota 2 but this games didn't make me have fun like Smite!
    It's good balanced, it's in 3D,it's skill shot based so also if you are underleveled you can win a fight versus a more farmed enemy, everyone in the game has it's utility and doesn't fall off so hard late game (like supports in others moba, that    This is the best moba i've played, simply.     Third god perspective freshens up the MOBA genre but its potential was not fully utilized (e.g. you can jump, but there’s nowhere to jump to). Smite makes up for that with varied game modes and accessibility to inexperienced or casual players. [06/2014, p.58]
