    This game is a shadow of the former self. Plot is terrible, buggy mess. All we need Saints Row 2 remake

    Hot contender for worst game of 2022. They literally took everything that made Saints Row 1-4 fun and tossed it out. What is left is a low quality rip-off of GTA, MINUS the fun.
    Graphics are a good 10 years behind, quests are repetitive and tedious, and the bugs! Think Cyberpunk 2077 launch bug fest!
    Worst offender are the characters. Gone are the beloved characters such as Gat or    Hot contender for worst game of 2022. They literally took everything that made Saints Row 1-4 fun and tossed it out. What is left is a low quality rip-off of GTA, MINUS the fun.
    Graphics are a good 10 years behind, quests are repetitive and tedious, and the bugs! Think Cyberpunk 2077 launch bug fest!
    Worst offender are the characters. Gone are the beloved characters such as Gat or Shaundi, replaced by absolute trash characters that I just want to kill off and not coop with. Their goal: to pay off student loan. And bash capitalism. Really? That's the best they could come up with??? They are the diversity hires of the gaming world and just absolute cringe. Coupled with totally abysmal writing this is a recipe for disaster making you yell at the characters to just STFU! Unfortunately you can't shoot them ( I tried).
    Then there's the visuals: atrocious! When you go out of town into the desert you could mistake the game for Rage 2 - it looks almost the same from the washed out desert graphics to the pink arrows on the road telling you where to go next.
    Dumbed down gameplay (auto-aim), a bland, empty, boring open world.
    This piece of absolute garbage has NO REDEEMING features. Not one. This is a turd of a game.    … Expand

    The aiming in this game is simply atrocious, you are better off just letting your crosshair on the middle of the screen and moving your character around to line up the shots.
    You cant choose what to turn off from the hud, its either everything on or everything off even the crosshairs.
    Bugs, bugs, bugs, you cant wear what you want because it bugs out and makes you wear whatever. The map    The aiming in this game is simply atrocious, you are better off just letting your crosshair on the middle of the screen and moving your character around to line up the shots.

    The game feels outdated, and I'm not just talking about the graphics. Boring characters, story and missions. The city is lifeless (saints row 3&4 definitely had more effort put in their cities). I guess it can be fun if you like brainless open world games but if you want something different and good this is not it.

    I had to make a **** metacritic account for this **** game, i loved the orignal games, very nostalgic for me but this game both filled with game breaking bugs and awful writing and voice acting seems like it wasnt even finished when they released the game other than a couple engine assets.     This game is a stain on the saints row franchise, hell I had more fun playing gat out of hell and that game is a trainwreck but with this I just couldn't the cringey writing is just too much, the story was just...god no, the gameplay was very boring especially with the broken AI and the bugs made it even more of an annoyance.

    I know they were trying to change things up with this game but it just made things pretty bad, especially due to the fact it doesn't include the original saints.

    This game man, I really wanted to like it but oh my lord, so many bugs and just down right horrendous characters make it so bad. If future updates improve its current situation i'll up my score but for now it stays a 0.

    This game is **** A dull discovery of the world, the plot and everything that is in this rebooted game. I'd rather play all 4 parts of saint row than this.

    But it is better to compare it with Watch Dogs, Watch Dogs 2, especially with Watch Dogs Legion, where more and more game mechanics, features and details were cut out with each part.
    Here even cars are not bricks on wheels and not pinned in the middle on a pin.

    Or you can compare it to Far Cry 2 and Far Cry 3, although they have nothing to do with it. But do you understand what I mean?

    And we don't have a big list of such games:
    Mafia
    Mafia (restart).
    Watch Dogs
    Sleeping dogs
    GTA

    Maybe a couple more of these games.

    Did you expect more from her?
    The GTA level can only be reached by GTA and then, the big question is whether she will be able to do it with the 6th part. (and will she come out at all?)

    Definitely worth taking, that's just confused by the price, this game is clearly not at the level of $ 60, but thank you for not $ 70

    Only one thing I ask the developers, it's enough to shove such a style everywhere, it's not Fortnite enough, do normal graphics, from which it does not dazzle in the eyes.    … Expand

What Saints Row needed was a drastic make-over, drenched in purple with re-imagining of the old characters people loved. Gat out of hell provided a good ending to re-create Saints Row from scratch, but the devs missed that opportunity.Saints Row was never going to please anyone. It's tone is consistently inconsistent.     Sad how they really took the work of the previous devs and handle it to devs who can't create a good game if their income depends on it.... wait it does.

    There is not much left from the og saints row series for the fans.
    I feel robbed. Bought it for full price. This game would be still insulting if it were free..

    After 6 hours of play I really feel mentally exhausted from the cringe-worthy dialogue, the bugs, the terrible humour and the soulless empty game-play. The shooting mechanics are all over the place and the complete lack of hostile AI when engaging either the gangs or the police force is just laughable with either of them driving off a cliff, driving into walls or just flat out blowingAfter 6 hours of play I really feel mentally exhausted from the cringe-worthy dialogue, the bugs, the terrible humour and the soulless empty game-play.     I have "fully" played the game and can say the following.
    This is not Saints Row. It's just a pathetic parody of it. The graphics are nice in places, but often stinging. The abundance of bugs makes it hard for me to play it. It's also all fueled by a story that I'm just not interested in. It's some 4 not    I had to create an account on metacritic to write an honest review.

    I've 100% all the games in the series. this ain't it.
    Horrible aim assist, bad difficulty scaling, poor implementation of new mechanics (executions, abilities, leveling), all the ventures but 2 (shady oaks and the big one) were boring or broken, The removal of good/old mechanics like sprint attacks, quick melee, human shields, dual-wielding (it's in the game but I doubt anyone unlocked    I've 100% all the games in the series. this ain't it.

Bugs aren't the top issue. (though I did have 5 soft locks)

    My expectations were not unrealistic. My expectations were set by a game made 14 years ago.
    Like CP77 SR22's bug issue is surface level once you clean it up it will still be found lacking.
    If you liked SRTT, you'll enjoy the tone.    … Expand

    A totally unnecessary reboot. Not to say the game isn't fun. It is. Again, it's pure escapism that exists just so you can fool around with a bunch of weapons and vehicles and not have to think about it. The problem is that previous installments have done the same thing - and infinitely better. [Issue#322]

    There’s a weight of history behind Saints Row, and no matter whether you’re comparing it to the more serious early games or the sillier later ones, it’s pretty clear that the Saints Row reboot doesn’t live up to any of them.

    A newcomer would be shocked by crude animations, wonky physics and bad gunplay. Fans of the franchise are kinda used to that, but they’ll be disappointed for another reason: while Saints Row 2022 does have a few fun moments, most of them are blatantly ripped from previous games of the series.
