    Hot contender for worst game of 2022. They literally took everything that made Saints Row 1-4 fun and tossed it out. What is left is a low quality rip-off of GTA, MINUS the fun.
    Graphics are a good 10 years behind, quests are repetitive and tedious, and the bugs! Think Cyberpunk 2077 launch bug fest!
    Worst offender are the characters. Gone are the beloved characters such as Gat or    Hot contender for worst game of 2022. They literally took everything that made Saints Row 1-4 fun and tossed it out. What is left is a low quality rip-off of GTA, MINUS the fun.

    Worst offender are the characters. Gone are the beloved characters such as Gat or Shaundi, replaced by absolute trash characters that I just want to kill off and not coop with. Their goal: to pay off student loan. And bash capitalism. Really? That's the best they could come up with??? They are the diversity hires of the gaming world and just absolute cringe. Coupled with totally abysmal writing this is a recipe for disaster making you yell at the characters to just STFU! Unfortunately you can't shoot them ( I tried).
    Then there's the visuals: atrocious! When you go out of town into the desert you could mistake the game for Rage 2 - it looks almost the same from the washed out desert graphics to the pink arrows on the road telling you where to go next.
    Dumbed down gameplay (auto-aim), a bland, empty, boring open world.

    -10 if possible the worst **** cash grab ever this game has nothing that it makes it a good game, cringe story and dialogues no gore like previous SR games and the shooting feels like a game form 2000s you can't take cover I'm combat the rag doll physics is **** and not to mention the bugs and glitches the rain effect is so **** mission progression is halt due to NPC's spawning on wrong-10 if possible the worst **** cash grab ever this game has nothing that it makes it a good game, cringe story and dialogues no gore like previous SR games and the shooting feels like a game form 2000s you can't take cover I'm combat the rag doll physics is **** and not to mention the bugs and glitches the rain effect is so **** mission progression is halt due to NPC's spawning on wrong places and not to mention the enemies turn into yellow health bars randomly and wastes your time and vulkan on pc is broken as hell black screens, no RTX on vulkan API not to mention the game looks **** and performs bad even on high end hardware the developers didn't even add DLSS or FSR2 and to show how much care went in this game here's an issue on PC:

    game will drop to half gpu utilisation and half fps no matter what api you use after a cutscene or if you alt tabbed, if it happens, change any graphic settings that need apply, press apply and it will be fixed until next cutscene

    Not to mention buggy ai behaviour vehicles despawning out of nowhere and setimes there are no Peds or vehicles on game world.
    Coming to gameplay and side activities these are out dated and un interesting as **** like in most of business ventures you gotta go to X place and stear X car or go to X place and kill enemies and the game is just driving to a location and shoot people and mixed with cringe dialogues this is just tedious this game has nothing special or good and this takes chore like activities to a whole another lvl like to unlock a perk you need to complete challenges etc even all ubisoft games look better and interesting compared to this.

    Finishing off this review with any self-respecting developer should start refunding the game given the state this **** is in they are not even doing that. this game is not even worth pirating    … Expand

    Not 100 percent Great game but still a great game. Played at the game store now I'm buying complete game. After looking at some reviews I never thought that I would play the game but after playing for some hours I loved it. And character creation is pretty awesome and diverse.

    a lot of the negative reviews are from people who do not even own the game. they start their reviews that they tried to get the game for free, but they could not get a free key and then they spent the rest of the review complaining about a game that they do not have and that they have not played and all you see in the videos are pre release game clips

    the other group i see are people who also have not bought the game and are upset because of their **** politics. honestly its a **** game. get over it.

    another group are people who are not happy that its does not have their favorite characters. i dont know what to say dont buy the game.

    other than that what can i say the game is not the best gta clone, but not the worse. i needs some polishing. i just think it need more npcs...finally, i've not run across any bugs other than the game launcher is buggy and it takes a number of attempts to get the game running, real pain.    … Expand

    It feels like the sequel to the third one if they went in a more serious route instead of the insanity of 4. There is less crude sexual humor( stripper/BDSM/Furry type stuff) and 2010 internet    The game feels like Saints Row 3.5 to be honest and I'm pretty okay with that.     It feels like the sequel to the third one if they went in a more serious route instead of the insanity of 4. There is less crude sexual humor( stripper/BDSM/Furry type stuff) and 2010 internet humor(Twilight/Dubstep/Unicorns/Zombies) in favor of broader style with a bit more of millenial/genz focus. That other stuff is still there but toned down to a bit more realistic level. You're not fighting waves of gimps or furries basically.

    The story is pretty good nothing really groundbreaking but kept my interest with the biggest downside being it is a bit short compared to the other games. The game is definitely aware of how corny some it's characters are and pokes fun at them pretty regularly. Most of those moments are usually just used to set up later jokes. Like the student loan thing was pretty much just two throw away jokes in the very beginning of the game doesn't really come up again at all. Kevin whose part of the Idols is made fun of for being part of hypocritical anarchist cult multiple times. I really wouldn't say the game is woke or pc at all and seems to throw its punches at everyone it just doesn't really punch all that hard. Kind of like a Ubisoft game.

    Gameplay wise its Saints Row 3 with a few improvements and different side activities which are all pretty fun. Not driving around with a tiger but still enjoyable. Upside is you don't have to do the side stuff to progress the story like in 3. Downside is they do get kind of repetitive but no worse than the third one.

    Art wise the game is really pretty and the city is visually interesting making it really interesting to explore and see the landmarks. Even the load screen art is really awesome with some amazing graffiti pieces. The city definitely has far more character to it than Steelport but it doesn't have much intractability so it mostly just serves as backdrop to blow **** up in.

    It's definitely buggy but so far I havent run into anything game breaking and some of them have been pretty fun tbh. Kind of like a bethesda game.

    Overall I can see why people are disappointed as it really is just Saints Row 3.5 but it doesn't really deserve the thrashing its being given. I'd say if liked the third one you'll like this one but I can also totally understand someone waiting till its like 40 bucks.    … Expand

Mix it all with an amazing performance, consistent balance between things to do just running throughout the world map and interesting gameplay mechanics and you have a definitely great game.

Empty streets like there was some kind of zombie apocalypse and everyone is dead, the few pedestrians you find on the street act like stupid 2008 AI with a single animation jump to avoid being run over, the same exact animation each and every time. There is no running kill moves, police chases end as soon as you exit your vehicle, there is no wanted system, they removed some of the previous Saints Row features, you have this absolute disastrous aiming mode, and add a bunch of bugs, horrible performance issues, fps drops, freezes, stuttering and you have the worst game of 2022, and of course, the worst Saints Row since the first one.

    I've just registered here to write this review.
    this game is absolute garbage, trash, dogwater and etc.
    In an hour of gameplay I saw a lot of texture glitches and t-poses.
    physics is completely broken.
    as a fan of SR games I feel betrayed

    This should not have been a Saints Row game. The game on its own is..... okay. It's cringe, but playable. The writing really needed more work, and so did the rest of the game, but it's playable. This game is the definition of wasted potential. I don't know if it was the lack of time, or lack funds, (both of which is visible) but this game deserved better.

    CONS:
    -Laughably bad story that seems like a forced twitter fever dream
    -Shooting mechanics that feel so spongy it makes the divisions gunplay look better.
    -Physics that just do not make sense. Your vehicle is essentially a tank at all times unless a mission calls for it.
    -Repetitive missions and side missions. ALL are fetch quests
    -Bugged melee and finishing moves that feel that they were not tested.
    -Dead world with no ambient sounds or civilians talking to each other. Feels hollow and half baked
    -COOP that is busted and the main point of me even trying to get a laugh resulted in numerous disconnects and frustration.
    -Animations that break at serious times
    -Enemy AI is brain dead that you could stand in front of them and they become confused.
    -Very bad shadows and graphical glitches that feel like a 360 title
    -Various clipping issues, one resulted in a clip outside of the map, free falling
    -No train physics what so ever resulting in hilariously bad clips
    The PROS
    -MAP: If the map had life into it I could see that they created a decent looking city to explore, that being said all of the buildings you cannot explore and there is no gambling in the casinos...missed opportunity
    -Character customization: The main feature and probably the one that got the most funding into was the customization you can do. Its a shame that its in this game.
    Conclusion:
    Even with all of the bugs ironed out and the COOP working, this is easiest the worst game release this year since Brokenfield and CP.
    The baked in mechanics and physics can only be haha funny for a short while, whilst the world may be interesting. Its only skin deep. Just like todays modern media it fails to deliver the spirit of gaming and what made this series so specials to fans in the first place.
    This is a wake up call to developers to listen to fans.

    Horribly unfinished, bewilderingly outdated and lacks any appeal. Outside of being a bug ridden and horrendously underbaked game, it is still the worst game in a franchise that spans 16 years.

    And just to add insult to injury, the game's optimization is some of the worst in recent memory.

I spent an hour and a half trying to get the game to work. Don’t even think about trying to play coop with a friend. To even offer versions of this game that are $100 is an insult.     Awful game, feels like epic games had some real influence on this title since it's a **** games exclusive. Saint's row has turned in to a fortnite cringy story with the target audience of homosexual 12 year olds.
    Game is riddled with bugs, gunplay is horrible and the map couldn't be emptier. Just go and play Saints row the third and compare it to this pile of garbage.

    Ain't perfect but the game is really good if we are comparing with the last 2 saints row we got , I heard there's a couple of bug there and there for my part i got some but nothing making the game unplayable , and don't listen to all those haters doing bad review score

    It's very fun than i expecting. i play many open world game recently but this game is really fun than i expect. Except for early grinding to unlock venture part. Aiming and shooting really casual just spam right click it made game very easy but variety of enemy after mid game that made game a bit challenge

    Gaming in 2022 is dead. This is one of the peak games of industry greed and lazy corporations.
    If I wasted money on this, I would do everything I possibly could to get a refund.

    Seriously, they should not be allowed to release a product like this and ask for money.

    unplayable. The game has more bugs than skyrim. The story is shallow, and the world just empty like during covid. I can't believe they've made something like this, it's worse than any Saints Row game ever released.

    Game is great don’t believe all the hate out there! Co op is tons of fun and gameplay is tons of fun. Haven’t experienced that many bugs either. AI is weak that’s for sure but the game is FUN that’s the point I think in the end.

    Game looks like a ps3 game with somewhat ps4 textures with ray tracing. Girl voice actor 2 isn't even trying, animations are poor and rushed, plane in the intro sequence has no realizm/physics at all, just a bumpercar in the air, story is so far boring and cliche, gameplay is boring and not even enjoyable, and controls are annoying.

The game is truly ruined by "The Room" styled writing, repetitive missions (turret missions, shoot enemies in a car, defeat two waves of enemies before doing turret missions or shooting enemies in a moving car), tons of bugs, crashes, an empty open world, and more. The city is so empty, it makes Need for Speed Undercover's Tri-City Bay look like a lively world; and that says something. No seriously, watch videos of NFS Undercover and compare the world to Saints Row 2022.

    It's not about "GeT WoKe Go BrOkE!!!" or Epic exclusivity. If this game had GTA level humor, this game would still be awful. If it was available or even exclusive to Steam, the game would still be awful. Drop the politics and the platform wars for a second and call this game what it really is: An unfinished, buggy cash grab.    … Expand

    A totally unnecessary reboot. Not to say the game isn't fun. It is. Again, it's pure escapism that exists just so you can fool around with a bunch of weapons and vehicles and not have to think about it. The problem is that previous installments have done the same thing - and infinitely better. [Issue#322]

    There’s a weight of history behind Saints Row, and no matter whether you’re comparing it to the more serious early games or the sillier later ones, it’s pretty clear that the Saints Row reboot doesn’t live up to any of them.

    A newcomer would be shocked by crude animations, wonky physics and bad gunplay. Fans of the franchise are kinda used to that, but they’ll be disappointed for another reason: while Saints Row 2022 does have a few fun moments, most of them are blatantly ripped from previous games of the series.
