    I tried to have fun with this, I really did. I really liked the character creation and how similar the game was to the old Saints Row games, but the bugs and the unlikeable Zoomer characters really wore me down. I would've preferred it if the story had your character on their own. Oh well.

    They did it again !! They somehow managed to destroy everything people loved about the Saints Row franchise in an attempt to force their woke messages through to the players. The characters were bland with no personality, the dialogue was outrageous and the plot was outright terrible.

    On the technical side of things, the game was riddled with bugs (both small to game breaking), there were frequent texture pop ins, graphics looked like something straight out of the PS3 era. Most of the open world was barren and empty, driving similarly was also pretty bad and other gameplay mechanics like melee and shooting were severely unpolished.

    The soundtrack was decent to good for the most part. The character creation suite was the most enjoyable part of the whole game for me, which in itself says a lot about this game.

    All in all Saints Row is most definitely in contention for the worst AAA game of 2022. It also does not help when the community manager for the game cannot take any valid criticism from the fans and proceeds to label anyone who disagrees with her about the characters, 'sexists' and also calls the longtime fans of the franchise 'terrorists' and wants them to not support the franchise anymore.    … Expand

    The actual core concept of students having to rely on criminality to be able to pay off student debt is a very interesting concept. However.. this game is like a Netflix adaptation of the real Saints Row. This game is watered down compared to the earlier Saints Row games and the main characters look like whimps who get offended by everything. This game is a complete garbage.     Game made by complete no-talents for completely radical Tumblr reps. There's nothing good about this game.
    The story is abusive to the legacy of the series, the characters are repugnant, the gameplay is the worst ever, and nothing is fun at all.

    Game play is mediocre. Even after a full year after release buggy. Sky is different shades of Purple and blues?? and cars sounds non existent. Too bad because the first Saints Row ever was great. Time to let this series die out.

    I made the mistake of pre-ordering the deluxe version of this game, based on the Saints Row name. To give you an idea of how awful it is - I saw that new DLC had been released so I started reinstalling the game. Halfway through the install, I decided that I couldn't be bothered wasting another minute playing such a bland, unenjoyable mess, so I just deleted it. Knowing how rich on unique qualities (game mechanics/activities, writing, tone, etc...) the Saints Row franchise used to be, this is an utter insult. An insult to the franchise, an insult to gaming and entertainment inBland, boring, annoying, outdated, broken, and in some aspects - downright unfinished.     This is an actual **** sandwhich. The buggy mess of unplayable and unfun missions are the kicker on this... idk what this is.. I would say this has like 1 or 2 people working on it at most. The original Volition crew couldn't have made this.. No way. This is like an 8 year old wrote everything, but even 8 year olds have more imagination.

The new map is a little interesting at first because it's new but it gets old fast when there's nothing do or interact with and feels empty. Not to mention that if you can't stand popin in games don't touch this game with a 10 ft pole. Teach them a lesson and hit them where it hurts: vote with your wallet. Don't support this trash.     Every aspect of this game is just so bad. The shooting mechanics haven't changed in a decade. the vehicles are super floaty, the dialogue is just cringe af and it creates the biggest ludonarrative dissonance since uncharted. The only redeeming factors of this game are the customisation options and how fun it is to scroll through people's bosses

    CONS:
    -Laughably bad story that seems like a forced twitter fever dream
    -Shooting mechanics that feel so spongy it makes the divisions gunplay look better.
    -Physics that just do not make sense. Your vehicle is essentially a tank at all times unless a mission calls for it.
    -Repetitive missions and side missions. ALL are fetch quests
    -Bugged melee and finishing moves that feel that they were not tested.
    -Dead world with no ambient sounds or civilians talking to each other. Feels hollow and half baked
    -COOP that is busted and the main point of me even trying to get a laugh resulted in numerous disconnects and frustration.
    -Animations that break at serious times
    -Enemy AI is brain dead that you could stand in front of them and they become confused.
    -Very bad shadows and graphical glitches that feel like a 360 title
    -Various clipping issues, one resulted in a clip outside of the map, free falling
    -No train physics what so ever resulting in hilariously bad clips
    The PROS
    -MAP: If the map had life into it I could see that they created a decent looking city to explore, that being said all of the buildings you cannot explore and there is no gambling in the casinos...missed opportunity
    -Character customization: The main feature and probably the one that got the most funding into was the customization you can do. Its a shame that its in this game.
    Conclusion:
    Even with all of the bugs ironed out and the COOP working, this is easiest the worst game release this year since Brokenfield and CP.
    The baked in mechanics and physics can only be haha funny for a short while, whilst the world may be interesting. Its only skin deep. Just like todays modern media it fails to deliver the spirit of gaming and what made this series so specials to fans in the first place.
    This is a wake up call to developers to listen to fans.

    Cringe conversations, boring characters, mostly boring/repetitive quests, lifeless map & on top a buggy mess. I should probably be used to it by now, that games release 80% finished, still it's simply annoying. Probably bug-free & worth the money in half a year.

Having to listen to some dip****s complain about student loans, THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO HAVE SIGNED FOR, makes the admission that they are complete and total morons unsurprising.     As a huge fan of SR2, III and IV, I have to admire this game is so terrible that I dropped it after 2 hours (wanted to do it earlier but franchise had a very nice credit of trust). Some of the previous parts were so ahead of time and addictive af, this one feels like a fanmade stuff from 2004 or smth (in a terrible way).

Unfortunately for Volition Karens only complian about games, they don't play them or BUY them, so hope they enjoy their flowing.

    Ok, i'm a long time Saints Row fan. I love every aspect of its goofiness, cringey moments, crazy gameplay and everything. Mix it all with an amazing performance, consistent balance between things to do just running throughout the world map and interesting gameplay mechanics and you have a definitely great game.

    This one has none of that. It's boring, bland, the cringe and the absurd is    Ok, i'm a long time Saints Row fan.     This one has none of that. It's boring, bland, the cringe and the absurd is still there but is not fun anymore. You don't actually have anything to do. Empty streets like there was some kind of zombie apocalypse and everyone is dead, the few pedestrians you find on the street act like stupid 2008 AI with a single animation jump to avoid being run over, the same exact animation each and every time. There is no running kill moves, police chases end as soon as you exit your vehicle, there is no wanted system, they removed some of the previous Saints Row features, you have this absolute disastrous aiming mode, and add a bunch of bugs, horrible performance issues, fps drops, freezes, stuttering and you have the worst game of 2022, and of course, the worst Saints Row since the first one.

The city is so empty, it makes Need for Speed Undercover's Tri-City Bay look like a lively world; and that says something. No seriously, watch videos of NFS Undercover and compare the world to Saints Row 2022.

    It's not about "GeT WoKe Go BrOkE!!!" or Epic exclusivity. If this game had GTA level humor, this game would still be awful. If it was available or even exclusive to Steam, the game would still be awful.     Game looks like a ps3 game with somewhat ps4 textures with ray tracing. Girl voice actor 2 isn't even trying, animations are poor and rushed, plane in the intro sequence has no realizm/physics at all, just a bumpercar in the air, story is so far boring and cliche, gameplay is boring and not even enjoyable, and controls are annoying.

    Confused design the game. Shooting isn't fun, the quests are jump between feeling like I'm a college kid and millionaire yacht owner, and there is never a payoff to anything I do. Missions are only there to drive me into other missions.

    game will drop to half gpu utilisation and half fps no matter what api you use after a cutscene or if you alt tabbed, if it happens, change any graphic settings that need apply, press apply and it will be fixed until next cutscene

    Not to mention buggy ai behaviour vehicles despawning out of nowhere and setimes there are no Peds or vehicles on game world.
    Coming to gameplay and side activities these are out dated and un interesting as **** like in most of business ventures you gotta go to X place and stear X car or go to X place and kill enemies and the game is just driving to a location and shoot people and mixed with cringe dialogues this is just tedious this game has nothing special or good and this takes chore like activities to a whole another lvl like to unlock a perk you need to complete challenges etc even all ubisoft games look better and interesting compared to this.

    Finishing off this review with any self-respecting developer should start refunding the game given the state this **** is in they are not even doing that. this game is not even worth pirating    … Expand

    Why keep doing this? I'd consider a mediocre score if they did this with a new IP, but taking Saints Row name they were asking for a comparison. It's just nothing. Save your money, avoid this. Not even without the bugs it'd be worth your time.

    These are not the saints that I liked, the plot is disgusting, the gameplay is average, there are a lot of bugs, and more bugs, the graphics are hello from 2014, the only thing I liked was the character editor, and there are no interesting characters that you follow throughout games. It's a disgusting reboot of the Saint series of games.

    Dumbed down gameplay (auto-aim), a bland, empty, boring open world.

    This game has worse controls then the old saints row. NO MULTI-PLAYER MODE.... Co-op is broken and can't be joined most of the time!

    I was a huge fan of saints row and blinged out ride game mode, protect the pimp, team death match.... This is a single player game only... With co-op that's broken... They did absolutely nothing new. I feel ripped off. Honestly not worth the money. If you do a fast turn with ebrake cops with dissappear instantly and so will your wanted level. The one time I got into a co-op match I got into one car and drove away my co-op partner could move because I went to far away from starting location. They just got locked could press any button.... I really hope saints row online gets release seperate to save this atrocity.. Or it could be the worst game of 2022. All the game play missions feel the same.... Run to location and kill someone.... Or run to a car and steal it and bring it back.... Nothing new nothing original... Npcs have hardly any ai intelligence... Like this is really bad guys... I wanted to love this game... I really did... And I paid $99 dollars for the top rated edition I should have known it would suck with all the different editions out...

    I wanted to play with my friends and make new friends, make out gang and customize our gang and take over over gangs... What happened to the fun of multi-player?     Almost everything you can imagine in this game, is sub par or broken in some way. This game feels, sounds, and performs worse than any game I've ever played on launch, including others like cyberpunk and no man's sky.

    This game feels like fortnite made a saints row add on, that was broken and on rails.

    Those defending this game are on so much copium that it may rival that of Cyberpunk fanboys. This game is filled with issues that simply cannot be ignored. The bugs being the largest issue followed by gameplay and then the crappy activities it forces you to do to continue the main story.

    This game is a stain on the saints row franchise, hell I had more fun playing gat out of hell and that game is a trainwreck but with this I just couldn't the cringey writing is just too much, the story was just...god no, the gameplay was very boring especially with the broken AI and the bugs made it even more of an annoyance.

    A totally unnecessary reboot. Not to say the game isn't fun. It is. Again, it's pure escapism that exists just so you can fool around with a bunch of weapons and vehicles and not have to think about it. The problem is that previous installments have done the same thing - and infinitely better. [Issue#322]
