Feb 15, 2016As a gussied-up artifact of another gaming era, it fares conserably better and anyone who loves the series, is a franchise completionist, or missed it on either Gamecube or Wii, should check it out.

Jan 26, 2016I enjoyed my time with Resident Evil Zero back in the day, and I largely enjoyed it now. This remaster holds up pretty well despite the fact that some of the sheen's rubbed off over time. It might be a harder sell for anyone who doesn't have fond memories of it, but it's still a damn fine way to brutalize the undead.
-
Jan 20, 2016One of the harder-to-obtain Resident Evil titles is finally widely available. If you like Resident Evil it's worth playing, but don't expect something on par with the series' other older titles.
-
Jan 19, 2016Resident Evil 0 still stands as a classic, and gamers who loved it back in the day will likely enjoy the new additions and polished appearance. Newcomers to the series, however, will miss out on some references if they play this first instead of the original Resident Evil, but it’s still a decent place to start.
-
Jan 18, 2016Zero’s not a bad game. The opening train sequence is one of the coolest parts of the entire series, and while the character swapping mechanic isn’t the deepest gameplay addition, it adds a sense of cooperation missing from the other games. But its poor pacing and excruciating inventory management problems keep its unique additions from having the impact they should. The visual upgrades and improved control options help to make revisiting it a bit easier, but its flaws stand out all the more now, a decade-and-a-half later.
-
Jan 31, 2016Improved visuals, the typical Resident Evil feeling and zombies. If you can accept the shortcomings, you should give it a try.
-
Game World Navigator MagazineFeb 11, 2016Sufficiently good-looking, sufficiently entertaining and very antiquated. Still, it’s nice that you don’t have to buy a Nintendo console anymore to get acquainted with this part of the series. [Issue#206, p.61]
-
Jan 19, 2016It’s a forgettable entry in an outstanding series that just doesn’t measure up because of its story problems, overwhelming inventory management, and horrible predictability.
-
Jan 18, 2016A beautiful remaster of a game that tries to recreate the magic of the original Resident Evil, but repeatedly fails to do so.
-
Feb 16, 2016Especially fans of the first episodes will enjoy this less known Resident Evil Zero episode – they would be more willing to forgive the outdated game design, heavy-handed controls and not-so-useful companion. If you enjoyed Resident Evil HD Remaster, RE Zero deserves your attention.
-
Feb 4, 2016While carrying the same improvements to the resolution and artwork as seen in last years Resident Evil re-release, Resident Evil Zero still cannot escape its status as the weakest of the original Resident Evil games. A retread through scenarios already set in previous entries, it brings no redeeming features of its own.
-
Jan 19, 2016It’s an eminently skippable entry in the franchise, and in its own way, it paves the way for RE4 to blow everything up and start over.
-
Jan 31, 2016Resident Evil 0 has aged a lot worse than Resident Evil 1. Zapping between characters is too gimmicky and the character Rebecca is so badly written, it is almost as if the developers have never spoken to a woman before.
-
Jan 20, 2016Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster includes more content than most HD remasters, but does little to fix design flaws from the original.

Feb 8, 2022I like this game. The controls are okay and the story is good. Graphics are improved. The areas are detailed.
